Are You Willing To PLAN To Lead?

Becoming a quality, inspiring, motivating leader, does not come, without concerted effort, and a genuine desire to make a true difference, for the better! For over four decades, I have been involved in all aspects of leadership planning and development, from identifying and qualifying, to training, developing, and consulting, to thousands of actual, as well as potential leaders, as well as served as a leader, in several capacities and positions, for a variety of organizations, of various sizes, heritages, goals, and missions. I have come to the firm belief, one will only become a real leader, when he commits to everything needed and necessary, to truly, PLAN to lead. With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly, consider, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.

1. Priorities; perceptions; planning/ plans; performance: What are your priorities, and how might these align, in a positive way, with those of your organization? Will you proceed, in a positive way, with a well – considered, focus, and a well – developed, plan, to achieve the finest, possible performance, which serves and represents your organization, and stakeholders, in a service – oriented manner? A real leader considers, develops, and introduces a relevant, sustainable plan, which will serve the common good!

2. Listen; learn; leadership; Quality leading, and meaningful planning, can only occur, when one listens, far more than he speaks, and learns from every conversation and experience, in order to enhance his skills, and aptitude, in a relevant, sustainable way, and become able to possess genuine expertise, transform it to judgment, and refine it, and learn effectively, so as to acquire the wisdom, needed, to present the best plan, for the particular group.

3. Attitude; aptitude; attention; articulate: Nothing helps, until/ unless a leader proceeds, with a positive, can – do, attitude! This is an essential component of developing and utilizing a quality, relevant aptitude, which focuses on paying keen attention, to all aspects of doing one’s best! It is essential, for a leader, to clearly explain, and articulate his message, in an inspiring, motivating way, in order to ensure his plan, makes a real difference, for the better!

4. Needs; nerve: Do you have the nerve, necessary, to implement a relevant, sustainable plan, which addresses the needs of the group, and stakeholders?

Will you commit to having a meaningful, relevant PLAN, which makes a difference, for the better? Are you the right person, to become a leader?
