Mt. Kenya – The Gikuyu Invoked Powers Of The Ark Of The Covenant To Bring Down The British Empire

In an interesting revelation, the seer’s messenger who hold in trust the shrines on Mt Kenya, has made public how the British rule came tumbling down not just in Kenya but all over the world. In a paid up article in the PEOPLE DAILY, dated Nov 7, the messenger revealed among other things what sparked off the interesting story.

In 1948, when the Agikuyu, Aembu and Ameru communities realized that the British would never allow Africans self determination in Kenya, their military wing the Mau Mau ascended Mount Kenya with their crude weapons namely home-made guns, spears, machetes and other nondescript assortment. They laid down their weapons in prayer. Raising their hands facing Kigongona Kia Mai(the shrine where the Ark is concealed) the chief seer Mugo wa Kibiru, led them in reciting their solemn prayer.

Ngai mbara ino turathii nawe.

Nigikorwo turi aku na uri witu.

Twahoto niwe wahotwo

Twahotana niwe wahotana

Twahota nitugacoka haha tukurutire igongona ria ngatho.

God you are our ally in this war

For we are your people and you are our God

Our defeat is your defeat

Our victory is your victory

If we win we shall assemble here and offer thanks giving offering.

Like Gideon of the Old Testament, they wanted assurance from God that they would defeat the British Army. The Chief Seer left the scene. After some hours, he came with the message from God. He made a trench from where the Mau Mau were standing and said thus. “The day King George’s Army crosses this trench, count ten years, and the British Government will not only loose the war in Kenya but would loose the whole empire.”

The Mau Mau spokesman sort clarification which year that will be. The Chief Seer said the British rule will come to an end in the year the Mugumo (fig) tree in Thika falls down. That prophesy somehow reached the colonial Government. The Mugumo tree in Thika was reinforced with rails and sheets.

To fulfil the seer’s prophesy, on 1st June 1953, the Mau Mau fighters enticed the British soldiers to cross the marked trench, by encamping near the trench. The Mau Mau crossed the trench with the British army following in hot pursuit. The Mau Mau celebrated in camp that night. Exactly ten years later, on 1st June 1963, the mugumo tree in Thika fell down despite all the reinforcements. The day remains a public holiday in Kenya todate.

Interestingly, as the communities set to return to the mountain to seek God’s intervention again, the British Government could feature in bad books once more. The seer’s have made public three major reasons for seeking God’s hand.

1} Diplomatic missions engagement in local politics. Four foreign diplomatic missions in Nairobi do not observe code of diplomatic etiquette and procedure. These Embassies have changed to ‘governorships’.

2) Errant Church founders who masquerade as ‘saints’ have entered the world of politics with intent of making fortunes.

3) Leftist politicians who are imbuing electorates with revolutionary doctrines in the so called ‘majimbo'(federalism) are reminiscence of Yugoslavia – majimbo that abetted ethnic cleansing.

Although the diplomatic missions referred to above have not been named, it is unlikely that the US and UK who have been consistent with their comments on local politics could be left out. Only yesterday, Nov 14 a bishop was cleared to vie for the country’s presidency.

In a terse observation, the seers have warned that the country is destined to fall in a big civil war. That is why they have requested the community members to join them on the 20th, 21st and 23rd Nov 2007 in prayers for the Nation.

We shall watch keenly as the events unfold.

Acute and Chronic Sinusitis Treatments

It is estimated that 35 million people in the U.S. suffer from sinusitis. It is a major source of misery for the sufferers and can lead to depression, anxiety and mood disorders.

Acute Sinusitis

Definition

Acute sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) also known as acute rhinosinusitis does not last for more than 12 weeks.

Causes

The mucous membranes of the nasal passages become swollen and inflamed, the openings get blocked and proper sinus drainage is inhibited leading to a mucous build up. These blocked, inflamed sinuses create a moist environment that makes it easier for bacterial infection to occur and take hold. Usually a cold/flue or allergies cause the nasal congestion to occur.

Symptoms

Sinus/facial pain, sinus/facial tenderness, sinus/facial pressure, headaches, pain in teeth, pain in jaw, pain in ears, pain through and around eyes, fatigue, dizziness, drainage of a thick yellow or green discharge from the nose or down the back of the throat (post nasal drip), nasal congestion and difficulty breathing, reduced sense of smell and taste, cough (which may be worse at night), nausea, sore throat and halitosis (bad breath).

Treatments

1. Anti-biotics – A course of anti-biotics such as amoxicillan prescribed by a doctor usually gets rid of acute sinusitis.

2. Over the counter decongestant tablets and liquids – OTC decongestants such as Sudafed can relieve nasal congestion to help you breathe more easily. Like any medication they have side effects.

3. Over the counter decongestant nasal sprays – OTC nasal sprays such as Vicks Sinex can relieve inflammation and nasal congestion by shrinking blood vessels in the sinuses. These can cause side effects and should only be used short term (see manufacturers instructions) otherwise you can get rebound congestion (when you stop using it the congestion is worse than before) leading to dependency. Also prolonged use can lead to permanent damage of the delicate linings of the nasal passages and a condition called ‘Rhinitis Medicamentosa’.

4. Over the counter pain relievers – OTC pain relievers such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen can be used to relieve inflammation and pain. However they can cause side effects such as slowing down the digestive system and internal bleeding.

5. Natural nasal sprays – Natural nasal sprays such as SinuSoothe contain natural ingredients that relieve inflammation, sinus pain, headaches, nasal congestion, remove airborne irritants etc. It is also ant-bacterial and anti-fungal so can therefore help get rid of any infection present. For allergy sufferers it contains natural anti-histamines to relieve a runny, itchy nose and sneezing. It can be used long term, is non-addictive and has no side effects.

6. Saline nasal sprays – Saline nasal sprays such as Sterimar are useful for moisturising the nasal passages, removing airborne irritants and relieving congestion. These can be either isotonic or hypertonic solutions. These can be used long term and are non-addictive. They can help reduce inflammation.

7. Nasal irrigation – A neti pot is used to irrigate the sinuses with either an isotonic or hypertonic solution. An isotonic solution has the same salt concentration as your body. A hypertonic solution has a higher salt content and may be more useful at drawing moisture and mucous from the sinuses. This can help relieve nasal congestion and may reduce inflammation. This is a good practice for keeping the sinuses clean and many people have benefited from daily nasal irrigation.

Chronic Sinusitis

Definition

Chronic sinusitis, also known as chronic rhinosinusitis, lasts longer than twelve weeks or keeps coming back and people have been known to suffer from it for over fifty years. This can really have a profound affect on peoples quality of life.

Causes

The mucous membranes of the nasal passages become swollen and inflamed, the openings get blocked and proper sinus drainage is inhibited leading to a mucous build up. These blocked, inflamed sinuses create a moist environment that makes it easier for bacterial infection to occur and take hold.

It is caused by;

1. recurring bouts of acute sinusitis combined with a low immune system.

2. allergies.

3. fungal infections.

4. nasal polyps (growth in the sinuses) or tumours.

5. deviated nasal septum.

6. trauma to the face (a fractured or broken bone may obstruct the sinuses).

7. Medical conditions such as cystic fibrosis, gastroesophageal reflux, HIV and other immune system diseases.

8. Immune system cells (with certain health conditions immune cells called eosinophils can cause inflammation).

9. Regular exposure to pollutants such as cigarette smoke.

The fatigue is worse in chronic sinusitis than acute sinusitis.

Treatments

1. Anti-biotics – Unfortunately anti-biotics do not get rid of chronic sinusitis. The Mayo Clinic in the U.S. have conducted clinical trial and discovered that 96% of people with chronic sinusitis have a fungal infection. There is a theory that this fungal infection irritates the sinus passages and they become inflamed. That is why anti-biotics prescribed to treat chronic sinusitis do not work since they cannot kill the fungal infection. In fact since anti-biotics themselves are a mold, they can make fungal infection worse (which may make chronic sinusitis worse).

2. Nasal corticosteroids – Steroid nasal sprays such as Beconase can reduce inflammation for sinusitis and allergy sufferers, usually start to work within a few hours, and are used twice a day at most. They are particularly useful at reducing nasal polyps. However they can cause side effects such as nasal ulcers, cataracts, headaches, sore throat etc. and they do not treat any underlying infection.

3. Oral or injected corticosteroids – These are used for severe sinusitis. They can cause severe side effects and do not treat underlying infection.

4. Over the counter decongestant tablets and liquids – see acute sinusitis.

5. Over the counter pain relievers – see acute sinusitis.

6. Natural nasal sprays – see acute sinusitis.

7. Saline sprays – see acute sinusitis.

8. Nasal irrigation. see acute sinusitis.

9. Over the counter decongestant nasal sprays – These are not suitable for chronic sinusitis since they should not be used on a long term basis.

10. Over the counter pain relievers – see acute sinusitis.

11. Non-steroid nasal sprays – Non-steroid nasal sprays such as NasalCrom can relieve allergies by reducing histamine production in the nasal tissue. If nasal congestion is present the sinuses have to be cleared before using it by either blowing your nose or or using a decongestant nasal spray. This type of nasal spray is not always successful and can have side effects such as headaches, drying of nasal tissue, swelling of face etc.

12. Over the counter anti-histamines – These are available as tablets or syrups such as Benadryl. They can reduce the amount of histamine produced during an allergic reaction thereby reducing the symptoms such as nasal congestion. However they can cause various side effects such as drowsiness.

13. Nasal anti-histamines – Nasal anti-histamines such as Astelin are steroid free and help patients to be symptom free from their allergies for up to 12 hours. They can however cause side effects such as headaches, drowsiness etc.

14. Reducing stress levels – Stress contributes to ill health and should be avoided whenever possible. It reduces immune function and can aggravate any medical condition. Vitamin B complex assists the body during stressful times and magnesium can relax you. There are also plenty of other herbs and supplements that can relieve stress. Your local health food store should be able to advise you. Pressure is healthy, stress is not.

15. Exercise – Exercise has been known to reduce chronic sinusitis symptoms since the endorphins released during exercise act as natural painkillers. It can also improve immune function provided it is not over strenuous.

16. Boosting immune system – Eating a balanced diet and supplementation with vitamins and minerals will improve the immune function and the ability to fight off infection. Vitamins; vitamin C, B complex, multi-vitamin and garlic.

17. Natural anti-inflammatories – Since inflammation causes the symptoms of sinusitis it is logical that anti-inflammatories will reduce inflammation therefore relieve the symptoms. Omega 3,6 & 9 oils, vitamin C, turmeric and ginger are all excellent natural anti-inflammatories. There are plenty of others and your local health food store should be able to advise you on these. It usually takes about 4 weeks for these to start taking effect.

18. Natural anti-histamines – For chronic sinusitis caused by allergies, quercetin and butterbur etc. can be just as effective as OTC anti-histamines but they do not have their undesirable side effects. It usually takes about 4 weeks for these to start taking effect.

19. Pollen barriers – For sinusitis caused by hayfever, pollen barriers such as petroleum jelly or special barrier gels inside the nostrils can catch pollen before it enters the nasal passages.

20. Red light phototherapy – This involves inserting two narrow red light probes in to your nostrils. The light reduces inflammation in the nasal membranes.

21. Immunotherapy – This is often a last option for allergy sufferers. Very small amounts of the allergen you are allergic to is either injected in to your body or ingested in a tablet form, to gradually desensitize your immune system to the allergen. You have to be referred to an allergy clinic in order to receive this treatment.

22. Surgery – Surgery can be carried out to remove a nasal polyps, rectify deviated septum or remove infected unhealthy sinus tissue. Surgery should be considered as a last resort for chronic sinusitis as any form of surgery carries a risk and it is not always guaranteed to work.

As with all medical conditions you should consult your doctor and any specialist before embarking on new treatments.

Proper Installation Method for a Shower Base and Repair Solutions for a Leaking Shower Base

The whole idea behind a 1 piece shower stall is no joints, no leaks, right? Wrong! Where there is water, it will leak!

Once again we see that improper installation techniques can cause a water leaking problem. There are a couple factors that enter into and contribute to leaking, let’s discuss them.

The less expensive shower bases are thinner and tend to flex when you move around on the shower floor and since the drain in these units is actually a friction fit system which allows for some movement water can seep through this area and cause a problem.

The friction fit is actually a good idea because there will always be a different rate of movement between the shower base, the structural floor, and the drain piping. The drain pipe for the shower is usually a 1 ½” or 2″ PVC pipe that slips through a rubber sleeve attached to the bottom of the shower base.

The problem in this case is that the floor of the shower unit actually flexes because of the lack of support from the bottom.

The proper method for installing the shower pan is to place it in a “bed” of mortar or similar acting product that will effectively cradle it and keep it from moving. My favorite product to do this is spray foam for a couple reasons. It creates the “bed” but it also deadens the sound and further acts as an insulator so as not to conduct cold through to the base itself.

You must dry fit the shower base first to make sure everything lines up. Once you set it in the foam you won’t get it back up.

To figure the thickness of the “bed” you need to lay the shower base upside down on carpet or some other soft surface as not to scratch it. Place a straight edge or level across the bottom and measure down to the floor of the unit. Add about ¾” to that measurement to get the thickness of the bed you need to put down.

When you have completed your dry fit you are ready to lay your “bed” down and lay your base into it. Simply spray the foam down on the floor and when it is built up to the desired height and coverage (generally 50% of the total area) lay the base into it. Press firmly, but do not step into it or push down aggressively or you will cause a gap to form between the base and the “bed” once the pressure is released. Leave it sit for the recommended drying time on the “bed” product you have used and you are good to go.

OK fine John, but mine is already installed; what can I do now to keep it from leaking?

Here is a solution that has worked in the past to solve the problem. Remove the drain gate, usually snaps in and out, although there may be a screw holding it in place. Clean the area around the joint between the fiberglass base and the rubber gasket. You may need to use a putty knife. Then wipe it clean with nail polish remover, or other degreaser type of cleaner. Be careful when using some products as they can discolor fiberglass or PVC.

Now using a flashlight, look into the drain, not too far down you will see the actual drain pipe itself. More than likely it will look like a white ring about 3/16″ thick. Continue looking carefully to the outside of this ring and you can see the rubber sleeve just to the outside of it. Clean the top edge of the pipe and the sleeve right above it.

Using some 100% silicone, I recommend GE brand, run a bead around the top edge of the pipe onto the sleeve and another bead on the top where the gasket meets the base. Moisten your finger with a little water and smooth out the bead, not too much, just make sure it is sealed all the way around and that you have left it about 1/8″ thick. Pure silicone will remain flexible when it dries, which will allow for the slight movement that can cause leaks. Let it dry for the recommended time and snap the drain in and you are good to go.

Something else you can do if you have access to the bottom of the floor under the shower, you can drill a few straw size holes under the base, be very careful you don’t drill through the base, and using a spray foam product, place some foam under the shower base. Do not walk on or use the shower until the foam has completely set, of your work will have been for nothing.

These repair methods will solve your problem and give you many years of a dry bathroom.

How to Prevent Hitters From Popping Out

There is only one way for hitters to pop a ball up and that is to hit the bottom of the pitched ball. The good news is that the hitter made contact but the bad news is that pop-ups are caught at least 90% of the time. Having said this obvious point, there are two causes for why players hit the bottom of the ball. The most common cause for the bat barrel going under the ball is commonly known as “dropping the shoulder.” In actuality, with the correct baseball swing hitter’s back shoulder will drop below the front shoulder in order to arrive at the correct palm-up, palm-down hands position. What causes the bat barrel to drop under the ball creating a popped up ball is an exaggerated drop of this shoulder due to a “collapsing” rear hip and leg.

To prevent hitters from popping out, they need to improve their weight shift into the ball. This action will prevent the hip and back leg from collapsing which will allow hitters’ hips to remain level and allow them to square the baseball up more consistently.

Following are baseball hitting drills to prevent hitters from popping out – these should be done in sequence for best results, but repeatedly doing any of these drills should solve the problem.

Hitting Drill # 1 – Have hitters set their feet together without any knee bend and take swings at different pitches, from high to low. Hitters can turn their hips with this drill but will not be able to rotate their legs as with a normal swing. This drill will take the power out of their swing but will help hitters get the idea of staying tall when hitting and not collapsing. Players with good swings will still hit line drives, even on knee high pitches.

Hitting Drill # 2 – From there regular stance, have hitters swing and pick up their back leg as they swing. This will force a 100% weight transfer and force hitters to firm their front side while staying tall. The rear hip cannot collapse with this drill, which is the root of the problem.

Hitting Drill # 3 – From regular stance, set a batting tee even with hitters’ rear hip and at hip high level. Hitters should practice coming over and missing this tee when swinging to any pitch level.

Hitting Drill # 4 – Set a batting tee in the hitting zone at letter high and have hitters hit balls at this level until they can hit consistent line drives. Players who drop their back side will have trouble hitting anything but pop -ups at this height.

The other less common way hitters pop balls up is by rolling their wrists at contact. This early roll causes the bat barrel to go down, resulting in a pop up. Often, this incorrect swing is only noticed by an experienced hitting coach and can be corrected with hip opening and lead arm extension drills like the following:

Hitting Drill # 5 – Have hitters choke way up on their bat and take some swings with their lead arm only. Their goal is to extend their arm and bat towards the pitcher, keeping their shoulder in and leading to a high, correct finish.

Hitting Drill # 6 – Set a ball on a tee in front of home plate and another ball on a second tee about a foot in front of that one towards the pitcher. Hitters stand in normal position and take swings with the intention of hitting through both balls. This drill forces hitters to open their hips and extend their arms without an early wrist roll. Hitting both balls solidly is the objective. A sign of an early wrist roll would be missing or continually grounding the second ball to the pull side of home plate.

It is important to understand that many young players drop their hands before swinging which can put them on the underside of the ball before they even swing. It is important that hitter–s break that habit in order to prevent hitters from popping out. Previous drill #3 will also help hitters break that habit.

Hitters with normally good fundamentals but in a “pop-up” slump may solve the problem with a couple of slight adjustments to their initial hitting position. Hitters can raise their hands slightly in their set-up and/or stand taller with less knee bend in their batting stance. These slight adjustments can cause hitters to hit a little higher up on the ball, preventing the popped up balls.

Reasons and Benefits of Doing Business in Thailand

Known as the Land of Smiles, Thailand is country of exquisite beauty, historical treasures and hospitable people. The incredible natural beauty, the world-class cuisine, tropical climate and relaxed lifestyle are some of the major reasons to start a new business in Thailand. Starting your own business in Thailand is the best way to enjoy the enamored lifestyle and earn a comfortable living in the Kingdom. Thailand is the second largest economy in the 10-nation ASEAN. The nation is rich in natural resources, such as timber, rice and precious stones. Textile, jewelry, tourism and electronic appliances are also some of the bigger players that add to the GDP of the nation. Starting up a business in this country is not a straightforward process. In order to run business successfully in this country, there are several important issues to be taken in consideration.

How to start a business in Thailand:

According to the Foreign Business Act (FBA), Thai government restricts business categories for foreigners. (Except for U.S. citizens who can engage in the business under the same rules as Thai nationals – Thai treaty of Amity). The foreigners are restricted from engaging in some business categories, unless a permit is obtained.

The most common way to initiate a new business venture in the country is by having a partnership with a Thai citizen. The labor, immigration and foreign investment laws are quite complex in Thailand, and hence a foreigner or alien cannot take part in day-to-day activities of business and requires a Thai national partner to run the front part. One can also think of opening a limited company in Thailand, but just remember, the Thai government restricts foreign investment in industries, like banking, transportation and communications. All the company documents are to be filed in Thai language and one may require professional help. The foreign owner shareholders can have only 49% and 51% is given to the Thai shareholder.

Benefits of starting new business in Thailand:

Thailand is considered as one of the region’s most attractive foreign investment destination. Thai government offers many incentives to the foreign investors. Incentives include tax exemptions and other generous concessions, permission to own land and import duty exemptions. However, foreigners are not allowed outright ownership of land.

Foreign Business Act is the main governing body that outlines the types and categories of businesses open to foreigners. It also sets the laws and regulations and restrictions for specific sectors such as insurance business, real estate and financial institutional businesses. To run your business successfully in this country, you require knowledge about the country’s Foreign Business Act, legal system and tax laws.

Unlike most of the other countries where it takes 38 days to start up a business, it takes on an average 33 days to start the business. Manual labor and construction is very affordable here as compared to other nations. The large, adaptable and intelligent workforce increases the potential for development and success of business. This regional center for trade and manufacturing has become an attractive place for doing business.

How to Scorpion-Proof Your Home

Scorpions are ancient creatures. Fossil records indicate they existed over 400 million years ago, looking very much the same as they do today.

Currently there are over 1500 different kinds of scorpions throughout the world, with some still waiting to be discovered. They are found on all continents except Antarctica. There have been 90 different species of scorpions identified as living in the United States and 60 of them live in Arizona.

Every scorpion is capable of delivering a painful sting, the most deadly being the Arizona bark scorpion. Although deaths from a scorpion sting are quite rare everyone should do their best to scorpion-proof their home.

The best way to begin scorpion-proofing your home is to eliminate the places they naturally hide in and where their food sources (other insects) are likely to live.

Look around and remove from the outside of your home improperly piled lumber, debris on the ground, yard trimmings in piles, and other things that provide hiding places for the scorpions and their food prey.

Bark scorpions can easily climb trees and bushes. To prevent such entry to your home make sure that there aren’t any trees or bushes touching your home and providing a pathway for them to enter.

Garbage cans should not rest directly on the ground. Firewood should not be brought into the home until it is ready to go right on the fire. And any firewood should be picked examined and carefully picked up as this is one of their favorite hiding/resting spots. Excessive vegetation covering the soil should be removed or at least minimized especially around the homes structure.

If there are gaps under exterior doors close them with brush strips. Gaps around windows and door framing can be sealed with caulking or weather stripping. Openings that admit wires, pipes, or other service entry should be sealed around the conduits with caulking or some other suitable material. Vents leading to attics or crawl spaces should be effectively screened. The eaves and the roofline should be inspected to determine any possible openings leading to the attic or wall voids, and these permanently closed where possible.

For those of us living in scorpion country, especially Tucson, AZ, the following preventative measures should become a habit:

  1. Always shake out your shoes before putting them on in the morning.
  2. Check sleeping bags of beds before crawling into them.
  3. Check or shake out any clothing that has been laying on the floor before putting it on.
  4. When working in the yard, be careful when picking up anything from the ground.
  5. Wear gloves when gardening.
  6. Be careful when going barefoot as they deliver painful stings when accidentally stepped on.
  7. If there’s an infant in the house sleeping in a crib, place the legs of the crib inside large glass jars as the scorpions won’t be able to climb the glass.

Dealing with scorpions is a fact of life while living in Tucson, AZ. The time and energy invested in scorpion proofing your home is well worth the peace of mind you will gain once it is done.

Farm Kitchen Sink

I grew up on a farm in the 40's, and one of the most pleasant things in our lives was sitting around the kitchen, which was the center of the household. Mom was an excellent cook, and I remember well the old farm kitchen sink, which was always a focal point.

Currently there are three primary types of kitchen sinks: self-rimming, under mount, and farm. Self-rimming, or drop-in sinks, sit on top of the counter top. This is the least attractive sink option, and the least practical, as the countertops can not be wiped off directly into the sink. The rim prevails this from happening smoothly. Food particles get stuck between the sink and the counter top and breed bacteria and mold, which can, in turn attract pests.

Farm sinks are the most pleasant of all kitchen sinks. My mother had a one piece sink with high back that was a central part of the kitchen. She could do her cannning, have room for supplies, and yet not need a great deal of counter space in the kitchen to hold other items. We had the sink, stove, and the kitchen table in our farm home. It was all we needed. Farm sinks are an entire sink unit which intentionally breaks the flow of the counter top as an appliance would. They have a finished front wall which leads directly up and over into the basin of the sink. Farm sinks are made of many materials. but the most attractive ones are made of granite, marble, or travertine. The rock travertine is a natural chemical precipitate of carbonate minerals; typically aragonite, but often recrystallized to or primary calcite; which is deposited from the water of mineral springs (especially hot springs) or streams arranged with calcium carbonate. When pure, travertine is white, but often is brown to yellow due to impurities. For the heavily-used kitchen, granite farm sinks are the most practical.

Sinks are getting more attention today, not only as design elements, but as practical features. My wife loves anything shabby chic, and we have been looking for a farm kitchen sink for our loft. We live in a 110 year old living stable, and it is my heart's desire. We are sufficient enough to have the original hardwood floors, with all the "medals of honor" of bygone years, and a great kitchen that suits my need as an experienced chef.
There is the possibility that you do not have enough room for the sink that you want. In this case, a bump-out can be built. A bump-out is where the counter top and cabinet at the sink extend several inches away from the wall, out into the kitchen, to provide a bit more space for the sink. Bump-outs can be extremely attractive, especially to highlight a particularly beautiful sink.

All things considered, a farm kitchen sink is a lovely addition to any kitchen. I am a firm believer that cooking must be an experience, and one to relish. things need to be right in the home kitchen, and what better way than with a farm kitchen sink?

Understanding Your Leadership Style

Each leader is different in the way they handle situations, challenges and problems. They each have priorities that they would prefer over the other. But have you ever asked yourself what your leadership style is? If you want to know more, then read on.

One leadership style is The Tyrant. This style relays on leadership by dictatorial standards. While it is not generally bad to be the one giving orders, it is often misinterpreted as a one-sided approach to governing a group of people. More often than not it encourages uproar and complaints among the people and does not boost their morale. People want to be led not dominated.

Another leadership style is The-Anything-Goes kind of leadership. This style is on the other end of the extreme. If a tyrant controls and governs with an iron hand, then the leader with this style leads without boundaries. Although people are often able to speak their mind and participate in the decision making process, this style of leadership is sooner to chaos. Why? People need guidelines, and they need rule to restore order. Without these things, then the leader is bound to failure.

It is important to strike a balance in everything. And this brings us to the final leadership style which is The Democratic. This style of leadership allows partnership with the people but at the same time gives boundaries that will guide people and keep the order. It is necessary to look at all sides and all aspects of human behavior, situation and the problems that they face and then cooperate with the people in solving all these problems. With this kind of leadership, a group is bound to attain whatever goals they have set out to do.

Circuit Breaker – An Important Safety Measure for Your Home

Circuit breakers are now popular device used in residential and commercial premises because of great advantage over fuses. It is a device that automatically breaks an electrical current whenever the circuit gets overloaded or an abrupt short circuit happens. Circuit breakers have a defined electric current load capacity which when broken results to automatic circuit power cut.

Overloading happens when an electric in wires is stormed and conducts an electric charge beyond wires' capacity. Whenever this occurs, the wires heat up and inevitably burst or an electrical fire erupts. But by installing a circuit, risk of electric fire can be avoided to a great deal. Unlike a fuse which work once and then has to be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset (either manually or automatically) to resume normal operation.

Currently, wholesale electric are available in different capacities, from small breakers that guard an individual household appliance up to large switchgear designed to protect high voltage circuits feeding an entire city. They are also available in varying sizes and are usually used according to the electric load required to run the appliances.

Now, circuit breakers are the ideal replacement of fuses, in fact considered as the preferred device to handle electric loan and protect circuit. The major advantage of this has over fuses is that you do not have to put too much effort to reset them. And like fuses, you do not have to place a new one every time an appliance draws excessive current. Moreover, when a breaker closes off the circuit, it will not work unless you throw it all the way to the off position before you turn it back on again. One more feature of electric circuit breaker is that it is air-ambient compensated- the hotter the air around them gets, the sooner they will trip.

In addition, if you are choosing circuit breaker for common living areas, choose an Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) breaker which is designed to cut electric shocks if certain wires became worn or damaged and create an electric spark. You can use these home circuit breakers for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and foyers.

No matter what kind of home you choose, but do not forget to verify that it meets National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. The NEC points the safety standards for electrical systems throughout the home and all licensed electricians must adhere to these codes during installation. So, while buying the product, check whether it is NEC-compliant. These days, the typical house carries either a 100 amp or 200 amp electrical services, so you should choose a home circuit breaker that can handle electric load of such capacity and able to distribute the power properly through the house.

Neptune 4-Person Rectangle Spa Review

Nowadays, there is a wide array of Spa designs to suit every taste and budget. If you prefer the traditional look opposed to the modern contemporary look, then the Neptune 4-Person Rectangle Spa could be just what you're looking for.

Aimed at the lower price range, this four person Spa creates a strong first impression with its classic design featuring redwood paneling and a blue denim acrylic shell. Feature wise it is not packed out, but given the lower price range it's in that is understandable. Here, we'll delve into some of the features and functions to help you determine if it's the right Spa for you.

Features of the Neptune 4-Person Rectangle Spa

  • 4 person capacity
  • 1.5 horse power multi-speed pump
  • 15 'GFCI protected cord
  • 10 Jets featuring Airflow control system
  • Plug and Play
  • Energy saver system
  • Auto filtration system

4 person capacity

The seating in the Neptune is not quite as high as many other Spas as the seating is low down so it could get a bit cramped if you intend to seat 4 people in it. However, the seats are rather deep so they have been molded well and are adequate enough to relax in.

Plug and Play

The Plug and Play feature makes setting up this Spa a breeze and you do not require any costly installation work. Just fill the spa with water, plug it into a 120 volt outlet then wait for about 24 hours for it to heat up then enjoy the experience. The portability allowing the Spa to be moved is handy so it does not have to stay in one fixed location.

The 1500 watt heating element included is convertible to 4,000 watts with a 240 volt conversion so you can speed up the heating time of this Spa if it appeals to you. The 15 ft power cord included is GFCI protected so it's good to see this for an added safety measure.

10 Jets featuring Airflow control system

The 10 adjustable jets in the Neptune are powered by a 1.5 HP pump. I'm impressed by the Airflow control system; this allows you to change the airflow of the jets to your personal preference for a more invigorating and relaxing massage.

The jets are located behind each seat so each person in the Spa will be able to enjoy the full therapeutic effects of the jets.

Final Thoughts

On the downside, it does not have as many features and amenities as more costs Spas, but for its price it is well equipped. Also, the flex cover lid supplied is not very good as it fills with rain water and creates a bowl; this can be replaced though with a hard cover lid so it's not too big of an issue.

Overall, the Neptune 4-Person Rectangle Spa is an attractive Spa which would really suit couples or small families with children. The classic design is really its standout feature. The redwood paneling blends in very nicely to most gardens and the blue acrylic shell contrasts with it well. Aside from the appearance, performance-wise the 10 jet airflow control system is very effective and invigorating so it will provide plenty of relaxing moments for you and your loved ones to enjoy in the summer.

A Love Story to Remember

It was festive season here in Malaysia and my family took this opportunity to go for a holiday in Singapore. Before heading and crossing the border, we had decided to drop by a wedding lunch function of one of our many distant relatives in Johor Bahru. We took off early, in fear that we may caught up in a jam as so I¡¯d mention, it is a festive season after all and there bought to be tons of people planning to travel.

As we hit towards the open highway, I was immensely stuck by an incompetent headache. It might be due to the long distance travel or the lack of comfortable beauty sleep the night before. To make matter worst, because of the way my body reacts to paracetamol, I was unable to take common medication to ease the pain. Therefore, upon reaching Johor Bahru, I was in such a critical state that I could even hard walk.

As we all know know, being in a Chinese orientated family, this wedding lunch event would never seem complete without the elders boldly going up on stage and scream I mean 'sing' till their heart content. Did I mention that the songs they chose were of an era far beyond my current age? This really adds adds up to the pain.

However, as I suffered quietly in agony and as I seem to be in one of the 'darkest' state of my life, something happened that looked the sting away and brought a moment of light and 'heaven' to me.

The wedded couples are called up on stage by the amusing MC to be prank upon. You know how people tend to request the have newly wedded smooch. Beside the couple, the MC called upon the parents of the bride up on stage to-so-call 'approve' that they kiss. I am sure that the MC was just trying to live up the crowd and to reassure that their lovely daughter is forever in good hands.

What is more shocking, the MC then request that the parents would first 'demonstrate' before their daughter took flight into the arms of her future husband.

There it happened. Her parents did not put on a 'fight' or seem in anyway due to kiss. As her mother slowly fell into the arms of her father, they kissed tenderly and passionately despite their age and the figure of how much her mother has put on. Everyone was cheering and laughing as to them it seems almost as pure entertainment, but I know and I felt in that instance there is so much more to that kiss than just plain 'amusement'. As I sat there quietly, I felt what it really meant by 'true love'.

My mom was laughing so hard that it brought tears to her eyes, but I was touched so much that even you I may only had shed a tear or two, but in my heart, I was lifted and crying tears of hope. A hope reassuring me that there is true love after all.

Such feeling does not come by ever so often and when it does, it happens without a sign. So quickly that our current feeling is completely switch. Therefore in anyways when you seem lost without a way to go and feel like the whole world is about to 'fall' upon you, just remember, in every dark night, there will be light. In every lost 'strength', there will be hope. And with hope, we will ever find what we all can proudly call 'true love' of our own.

Garage Openers: 3 Easy Projects And How-To Guides

All garage openings have both electrical and mechanical parts that will benefit from things like maintenance, DIY repairs, and weatherproofing. Use this easy guide to get started.

Maintenance

Maintaining the moving parts in the opener can increase the lifespan of the system. Common maintenance projects in this area include dealing with noise, confirming the safety features are working, and taking care of the drive chain.

Dealing with noise: Your first step should be to lubricate both the chain and the center rail with light penetrating oil. Lubricate the rollers if they're made of steel, but do not lubricate if they are made of nylon.

Confirming the safety features are working: Start by checking to see if the safety reversing sensors are facing each other for the door to function properly. These beams are normally located close to the bottom of the door. Incase the beam is broken while closing the door; the sensor reverses the door. You should regularly make sure the beams do not get out of alignment.

Taking care of the drive chain: The final step is how to maintain the drive chain. You'll need to clean and lubricate both the chain and the track once or twice a year. Do not use grease as it collects grit and dirt but light penetrating oil will be perfect.

DIY Repairs

Some of the most common DIY repairs include fixing doors that do not open fully, replacing damaged rollers, and fixing sagging chains. For each project, you will need some tools. Here's a list that should help you get started:

  • Locking pliers
  • Wrenches
  • Screwdrivers
  • A ladder
  • Lubricant

The door that will not open: To tackle this project, you may need to check the power source and / or adjust the limit screws. Once you've confirmed you have power, go to the power unit and find the up-limit adjustment screw. To do this, unplug the opener, turn the screw clockwise, plug in the opener and adjust it by running it through a cycle.

Replacing damaged rollers: When nylon rollers start binding on their own shaft, the result is normally an annoying squeak. Unfortunately, lubrication will not get rid of this and you'll have to replace the damaged roller. Installing replacement rollers can be broadly different from one brand to the next. However, most come with easy to follow instructions and / or a number to call for help with assembly.

Straightening a sagging chain: If the chain sags further than 1/2 inch below the rail, it bangs the rail causing the drive sprocket to wear faster than normal. All you need to do is to tighten it to half an inch over the rail's base. But you should not over tighten it.

Weatherproofing

Let's look at the final project, which is about weatherproofing a garage door. To start with, you need to use a PVC-style pipe section and nail it on the exterior jamb making sure the flexible seal is towards the door. You'll use a standard garage door seal for the bottom.

Contrary to what people think, if the door is sweating, you do not need to paint it. This will not stop the problem from occurring. This sweating is basically condensation and is caused because the door is cold and the garage has high humidity (or vice versa). You may buy an insulated garage door or you can insulate the door with the typical sheet-foam insulation. This will keep the door warm and so preventing or minimizing the condensation. Whatever the case, it's a good idea to find the source of the humidity and fix it because the extra moisture will cause the parts to wear faster.

As you can see, these easy projects can all help extend the life of your opener. Fortunately, they're all simple enough to complete with little effort.
