GHD Repairs – My GHD Hair Straightener’s Broke, What Shall I Do?

GHD repairs is a new sensation saving girls (and some guys) a lot of money. Let’s face it, if your GHDs break and are in need of repair then the alternative would be splashing out on a brand new set. Times are tough so we don’t all have £100 spare to spend on a shiny new pair of hair straighteners.

Luckily, there are some really good repair stores about now offering a GHD repairs service for little money. Many of these stores are easily found online by doing a simple search in your favorite internet search engine. Some of these GHD repairs guys offer an amazing 48 return GHD repair for under £20. That sounds too good to be true but many come with good testimonials and a telephone line where you can actually speak to someone.

God knows, you don’t want to send them to anyone so make sure that they are a qualified PAT certificated repairs company, most of these will be proper VAT registered businesses. If in doubt ask them!

Faulty GHDs are not as uncommon as you might think, after all GHD have managed to sell over 5 million hair straighteners in the last decade or so. The chances are after 5 years or so of pretty heavy use, they are bound to go wrong eventually.

I hear of some weird and wonderful ways of damaging these things; You may have burnt through the GHD cable, or the dog mag have bitten through it. One guy I spoke with the other day had a row with his girlfriend and he cut the power cable clean off from her GHD’s in a fit of anger! Rather him than me, it doesn’t bare thinking about what she my cut off in revenge! I heard of one girl’s irons sparking at the back of the GHD irons, and others just cut out all together, in these cases the GHD repairs companies have to open them up and change some parts such as the thermal fuse or r8 resistor.

Hey any if you are pretty handy with a screwdriver then many of these GHD spares and repairs guys will sell you a cable or a thermal fuse for you to do a GHD repair in the comfort of your own home. Cables are normally only a few quid and if you have a soldering iron in the tool box you may be able to fit a GHD thermal fuse (common fault with the mk3) or GHD R8 resister (common fault with MK4). At your own risk of course!

So if your the guy who cut the power cable from your girlfriends GHDs and want to avoid retribution, then you better get those GHD hair straighteners off to a GHD repairs company pretty fast. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
