Hand Poured Candles

Many people love to have a candle burning on a cold winter day or dark snowy evening. A candle has a way of making a room feel a little warmer as soon as you light it. A quality candle with a good scent can make your home smell like a freshly baked cinnamon bun, a juicy apple, or whatever wonderful scent you prefer. The scent can bring back wonderful memories, or set the tone for a fun, relaxed experience in your home. Candles add an extra special dimension to any occasion, and there are several styles of candles you can choose from.

Jar candles are a very convenient form of candle, because they are already enclosed, and you won’t need to worry about the wax running or dripping on to the furniture where the candle is displayed. They burn for many hours – some between 80 and 100 hours! They usually burn very evenly, so when the wick is burned down, you are left with an empty jar instead of a lot of extra wax. Jar candles add a special touch to any room in your house, and are usually the most fragrant of the candle types.

Taper candles can help create a very beautiful centerpiece for a formal dinner. Their tall slender shape adds to the beauty of any decor. Taper candles are made by melted wax being poured into a mold with a wick in it, or by a wick being hand-dipped into melted wax. A hand-dipped candle is then left to cool and dry before dipping again. The process is repeated many times, until the layers of wax reach the desired size, and the candle is finished. Taper candles should never be left unattended because the wax tends to run very quickly, and may ruin the surface where you are burning the taper candle.

Pillar candles are an especially decorative style of candle. The light of a burning pillar candle makes any room feel homey and cozy. Pillar candles tend to burn down the center of the candle, leaving a wax shell which is lit up by the glowing flame and adds to the ambiance of your room. Pillar candles can be bought in any size, color & scent!
