How to Do Planks

Do you want to get that 6 pack you said you will get every year? If you're tired of doing hundreds of sit ups and can not see any results, then this may help you. Planks are one of the best abs workout you can do because it does not involve doing hundreds of sit ups or crunches; it tightens and tones your abs with a few minutes a day. I am not going to say you'll get a six pack in a matter of days; it takes hard work and dieting to get that 6 pack you want. I am just saying doing this will help.

Regular Planks

Step 1 Find a place where you can lay down. It helps if you have a mat.

Step 2 Lay face down. Your forearms should be under your shoulder. Legs fully extended and you should be on your toes this is the starting position.

Step 3 Hold the position as long as you can this engages the abs. Then relax. This exercise is not about reps it's about how long you can hold on to the exercise – the longer the better.

Step 4 does as many sets as you can to meet your goal.

Side planks

Step 1 Find a place where you can lay down. It helps if you have a mat.

Step 2 Lay on your side. Your forearms should be under your shoulder. One of your legs should be on top of the other

Step 3 Hold the position as long as you can; this engages the abs. Then relax. This exercise is not about reps it's about how long you can hold on to the exercise – the longer the better.

Step 4 does as many sets as you can to meet your goal.
