Hydration: An Honest Overview

We need water to survive … this is obvious. But we need to be properly hydrated, for the thousands of metabolic functions that our cells require water for, and we are not !

US EPA statistic: 95% of us in North Americans are chronically dehydrated.

Lack of Hydration causes listlessness, light-headedness, digestion issues, muscle cramps, joint and muscle pain and stiffness, headaches, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart palpitations, strokes, coma and event death.

When the body is dehydrated, it holds on to what it has by constricting blood vessels through the body, which reduces the loss of water through the skin and through respiration, thereby preserving the body's water supply. This coping mechanism will fail as the level of dehydration increases.

The problem is that we think we are getting the benefits of hydration from liquids like coffee, tea, juice, pop, sports drinks and processed drinks. And we are not ! Why?
