Lean Six Sigma Training For You

Lean six sigma training focuses on a number of things including the primary focus of speeding up the process, and tools for analyzing process flow and delay times during each individual activity in the process. It also centers on the separation of value-added process versus non value-added process, all the while working to eliminate the non value-added items.

Lean six sigma teaches individuals that there are essentially eight types of waste generated within the core process of all business. These are;

• negative human factor waste

• defects-things that need fixed

• inventory-things waiting to be worked into the process

• overproduction-things product produced too early or too much

• waiting time-workers waiting for “work” to arrive

• motion-non essential human movement

• transportation-moving people and product

• process waste-items, things, or movement that adds no value to the production process.

Lean six sigma also provides a way to count and eliminate the cost of complexity that makes the process more difficult than it needs to be. Statistics show that 30% to 50% of slowdown in process is caused by rework to satisfy customer needs. Lean six sigma trains people to spot these situations to cut down on the amount of “do-over” in the system, thereby speeding up the system process. Basically, lean six sigma training teaches people to recognize the balance needed in the process to help the organization.

It is not about just quality or just speed. It is about an overall balance in process in order to improve service. As with other segments of Six Sigma Training, lean six sigma training requires both classroom, and hands on demonstration in order to receive certification in the field.
