Some business owners fall into the trap of thinking that because their business is in a busy part of town they will succeed. I have news for you.
Just because your business is in a busy part of town and has a bunch of traffic walking by does not mean that you will have customers.
I am in internet marketing, I have had websites that pull in only 1000 visitors a month with great success and I have seen others that have had 3000+ visitors a day on their website and was making only $500 a month.
So don’t ever believe that if more eyes see your business that you will make money. Big advertisers want you to believe that so they can suck money out of your pockets.
Instead of focusing on how many people see your ads focus on the quality of the ad… Now I don’t mean the quality as in using high quality paper, super graphics or flashy websites. What I am talking about is more than that. It’s the quality of the words you are using within the ads.
There are two things you need to do to make sure that your ads are pulling in the prospects and turning them into paying customers.
The first thing is the words you use, you need to find out what words your current customers are using and start using their words within your ads. When you use your customers words exactly as they do, others like them will tune into your ads and listen to what you have to say. When you can steal the words right out of the prospects mind before they can say the words themselves, then begin to trust you.
In simple terms if the words are wrong, the ad will not pull in the numbers that it should. Get the words right and the returns will come.
The second thing you need to keep a close eye on is tracking the ads and seeing what ads are working and pulling in prospects in that way you can be sure to toss the losing ads away and only put money into the ads that actually bring in money.
It’s easy to track ads, if you are writing an ad for a magazine, put a special code at the bottom of the ad and have the prospect either bring in the ad or read the code when they call you. If you’re on the internet you can put automatic tracking code on your website to do this for you.
Make sure at the end of the day you are tracking the results and making changes so your marketing becomes stronger and stronger each day.
