Food Delivery is a Needed Service

Food delivery is a necessary step to take in a futuristic society. The population has been increasingly becoming higher at rates that seem to be off the charts. For example, just in 1950, the population was not even at three billion. This is an extreme increase to today’s near seven billion people. This is when one must analyze facts about overpopulation. The Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat estimate that nearly ten billion people will be living by the year 2050.

When considering our already serious overpopulation problems, this makes the future of overconsumption look bleak. This many people cannot be trusted with scavenging the land and markets of food. It will become and is becoming government’s role to ration food wisely. If this is not done, consequences are likely to be harsh, but more people do not necessarily mean more problems. In The Lugano Report, Susan George states, “Modern famine responds far more to market forces than to absolute physical scarcities and rarely strikes the well-off” (105). There is power in numbers. When there are more people to perform a service, for example, food delivery, there is more of a market.

Since the problem of population will fall primarily on the market, society must assure that the market is sealed. This means that the market of food delivery would need to be easily accessible and fully ready. For it to become sealed there must be a supply a demand. The supply is here. The resources needed are easily gained, but within the hands of every consumer, the supply can quickly run out and be wasted. This is when large scale farming needs to come into place, assuring enough food for even a surplus of people. David Pimentel explains in his book, “Food, Energy, and Society,” that, “we would need to triple the global food supply in order to meet the basic food needs of the eleven billion people who are expected to be alive. But doing so would require a 1,000 percent increase in the total energy expended in food production” (291).

This simply means that humans need to harness the power that the world supplies, and if it is not done, then society with not be doing enough. Next: the demand. The demand is clearly out there. Not everyone is talking about how society NEEDS food delivery, but the need is approaching quickly and fiercely. Billions of orders are made a year for food, and especially, pizza deliveries. People are clearly opted to buy the use of a delivery service, but the real demand comes from the pure need of the service. This would be a case of a guided, unnatural market, but it will be necessary for such a strong society to fall back on. It is entirely possible to develop as well. Unemployment is at a peak, and people are always looking for jobs. In addition, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Statistical Records Office, there are approximately 62 million registered vehicles in the U.S. Now, there is plenty of workers and means of transportation. Developing a large scale food delivery network is entirely possible.

Lastly, and most importantly, food delivery is convenience that the twenty-first century should not have to live without. Most people, especially in America, experience conveniences never thought possible in earlier times. For example, even in just the year 2000, it is noted that 51% of the U.S. population actually had a computer in their house as stated by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economics and Statistics Administration in the study “Home Computers and Internet Use in the United States: August 2000” (Newburger 1). This extremely important considering one can do just about anything on their computer in present times. The conveniences do not end there. People do not manually wash their clothes, build their cars, or even need to pursue water. To add to the madness, people can communicate with each other at the touch of a hand. This opens the opportunity for just about anybody to access the option of food delivery. If 51% of all Americans own a computer, then they are already secure for ordering food online. The computer is a technological monster in the communication world, and it has only experienced its beginning stages of life. Considering this is not the only option of access, the whole aspect of access seems to be no problem.

Not only do people have computers, but they have phones. It has been said that 32% of the population of America has a cell phone. Many people who do not have computer have a cell phone, and many people who do not have a cell phone have a home phone. Conveniences are something that society is pushing for. The human as his instincts has to worry about few things; food is definitely one of the most vital if not the most important aspect of maintaining life. Even if one does not own a computer, a phone, or a cell phone, society in current times is filled with public access. A person does not need to put forth much of an attempt to achieve conveniences as common as accessing food. All of these way plus many more are great ways of access to food delivery services.

Food delivery and food rationing is clearly a service that is going to be required, especially in a futuristic society as our own and in coming years. Not only is it a service, but it is a solution to many problems that face a futuristic society. It does not matter if food delivery is not needed to solve problems of a crumbling civilization; food delivery is a common accessibility and convenience that should be open for any type of consumer.

Laser Experiments You Can Share With Your Homeschool Kids

The word "LASER" stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser is an optical light source that emits a concentrated beam of photons. Lasers are usually monochromatic – the light that shoots out is typically one wavelength and color, and is in a narrow beam.

By contrast, light from a regular incandescent light bulb covers the entire spectrum as well as scatters all over the room. (Which is good, because you could light up a room with a narrow beam of light?)

There are about a hundred different types of atoms in the entire universe, and they are always vibrating, moving, and rotating. Think of kids on sugar. When you add energy to these atoms (even more sugar to the kids), they really get excited and bounce all over the place.

When the atoms relax back down tot heir "normal" state, they emit a photon (a light particle). Think of the kids as coming down from their sugar high, and they all collapse on the couch.

A laser controls the way energized atoms release photons. Imagine giving half the kids sugar, and picture how they would bounce all over the place (like light from a bulb) when it took effect. They would be very high-energy among the other half who were potentially sitting down.

Now imagine those sugar kids jumping in unison (a focused laser beam). The sugar-kids are infectious, and pretty soon, the kids around them are joining in and sharing in their excited energy. This is how a laser charges the atoms inside the gas medium.

Now imagine a cat-flap that lets out a limited number of kids out at a time, while the rest are bouncing around inside, charging up everyone. That cat-flap exit is the laser beam exiting the laser. The atoms remaining inside the laser bounce off mirrors as they charge each other up.

Before we start, you'll need eye protection – tinted UV ski goggles are great to use, as are large-framed sunglasses, but understand that these methods of eye protection will not protect your eyes from a direct beam. They are intended as a general safety precaution against laser beam scatter and spinning mirrors. (Yes, you will be wearing sunglasses in the dark!)

A very neat addition to the experiments below is a fog machine. (Rent one from your local party supply store.) Turn it on, be sure you have good ventilation, darken the lights, and turn on the lasers for an outstanding laser experience!

A quick note about lasers: keychain lasers from the dollar store work just fine with these projects. Do not use the green lasers sold in astronomy stores – they are too dangerous for the eyes.

Plastic Bottle Beam: Fill up a plastic water or clean soda bottle with water and add a sprinkle of cornstarch. Turn down the lights and turn up the laser, aiming the beam through the bottle. Do you see the original beam in the bottle? Can you find the reflection beam and the pass-through beam?

Light Bulb Laser: In the dark, aim your laser at a frosted incandescent light bulb. The bulb will glow and have several internal reflections! What other types of light bulbs work well?

CDs: Shine your beam over the surface of an old CD or DVD. Does it work better with a scratched or smoother surface? You should see between 5-13 reflections off the surface of the CD, depending on where you shine it and how good your "seeing" conditions are.

Glass and Crystal: Pass the laser beam through several cut-crystal objects such as wine glasses or clear glass vases. Is there a difference between clear plastic or glass, smooth or multi-faceted? Try an ice cube, both frosted and wet.

Lenses: If you have an old pair of eyeglasses, pop out the lenses and try one or both in the beam to see the various effects. Try one lens, and then try two in line with each other to see if you can change the beam. If you have polarizer filters, use two. You can substitute two sunglass lenses – no need to pop out the lenses – you can just use two pairs of sunglasses. Just make sure they are polarized lenses (most UV sunglasses are). Place both lenses in the beam and rotate one 90 degrees. The lenses should block the light completely in one configuration and allow it to pass-through the other way.

If you feel something is odd, just change it and start yourself a new journey to ultimate happiness.

Smoke Signals And Mesothelioma Symptoms

After a three year period allowed for entering a claim for mesothelioma compensation, delay can often occur until a confirmed diagnosis then discloses the disease has spread to an advanced stage. There are a number of reasons for not recognizing the appearance of the first signs of mesothelioma or asbestosis symptoms.

Most often there is a long gestation period of up to 50 years from the initial period of exposure and a connection is not readily made, even though the victim may recall the circumstances of working with or surrounded by asbestos material at their place of work.

Lack of asbestos awareness to the deadly health risks was not only prevalent at the workplace during the peak years of asbestos use in UK industry but 'secondary exposure' could occur to wives and close family at home when washing their husband, brother or uncle's work clothes Containing the fiber dust.

Another common reason for failure to correctly identify shortness of breath, a chronic cough or chest pain as likely first signs of mesotheliomaor anasbestosis-related condition is because they are strikingly similar to a number of other common types of respiratory disease, such as influenza, bronchitis , Pneumonia, etc.

Crucially, the difference between mesothelioma and lung cancer can also be confused at first as exposure to asbestos can cause both conditions, even though the two occur in different tissues of the body. While lung cancer is a disease which affects just the lung tissue, mesothelioma attacks the lining of the lungs, heart, or abdomen, and is only caused by the breathing in of airborne, asbestos dust fibers.

Despite mesothelioma cancer being responsible for less than 1 per cent of all cancers diagnosed in the UK, prevalence of the disease has increased almost four-fold since the 1980s, when the first and most lethal types of asbestos had only just begun to be banned.

Another significant reason for a delay in seeking asbestos counseling is often due to attributing the onset of breathing difficulties and bouts of coughing to a lifelong smoking habit. Cigarette / tobacco smoking was particularly prevalent in the heavy industries of shipbuilding, railway engineering, auto assembly and manufacturing through much of the twenty century, along the vast use of asbestos.

An added complication is the effect smoking and asbestos exposure can have up the risk of lung cancer mortality for asbestos workers. In 2011, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) published a report, which provided figures for the period, 1971 to 2005, the year that white asbestos chrysotile was finally banned from use, systematic importation being stopped six years earlier.

The HSE report revealed that "of the 1,878 lung cancer deaths among the 98,912 UK workers surveyed who were exposed to asbestos, just 2 per cent of lung cancer deaths occurred to those individuals who had never smoked."

Further figures show that of those employees who worked with asbestos and who also smoked, an estimated 3 per cent of lung cancer deaths were attributable to asbestos only, 66 per cent to smoking only, and 28 per cent to the interaction of asbestos and smoking.

A separate study of smoking and exposure to chrysotile (white) asbestos also found that there was a three and a half times risk at least of lung cancer from smoking in those working with high asbestos as exposure to asbestos cement, insulation, friction or textile products in Contrast to those working with low asbestos exposure.

Typically, survival rates of around five years for lung cancer patients are higher at 15 and 75 percent, while mesothelioma patients are significantly lower at 10 per cent with only a 4 to 18 months prognosis.

How to Become a Fashion Designer

Is Fashion Your Passion? If you've always dreamed of becoming a successful designer, read on to learn more about how you can realize your dream and become a fashion designer.

The three most fundamental skills required to become a fashion designer are: sewing, drawing, and creativity. You can always learn both drawing and sewing in fashion school (actually, those are typically mandatory classes), but creativity is something you must have in your blood.

Beside the skills listed above, you need the following skills to become successful no matter what your career path is: motivation, determination, and commitment.

If you are serious about becoming a fashion designer, the first and most important step you'll need to take is to enroll in a good fashion design program at an accredited institute. The advantage of going to school is that you'll be taught everything you need to know in a well structured, organized environment. You'll learn the industry standards, how to accomplish required tasks efficiently, get hands on experience with the latest industry technology, and learn exactly what needs to be done to break into the fashion world and how to go about doing it well. Additional benefits include potential internships with well known companies and excellent networking opportunities.

If you're sure you want a career in fashion but are not certain as to which path is right for you, here are a few options to get you thinking: fashion design, accessory design, apparel design, fashion merchandising, fashion marketing and fashion Journalism.

As with any career, a solid plan and a good education are essential. This might be even truer in fashion design, as it is definitely not an easy industry to break into. That should not discourage you however, and if you are discouraged that easily then this probably is not the right career for you. But with hard work, dedication, and a little bit of luck, there's no stopping you from becoming the next Coco Channel or Calvin Klein.

A good first step is to pick a few good fashion schools and get some information from them regarding their programs. This can all be done quite easily now as most schools now have short "information package request" forms right on their websites. They're usually pretty short forms, you fill them out and they mail you an information package which outlines their programs in details. It's definitely worth looking into if you really are serious about getting into the fashion industry.

Do You Have a Fear of Heights Or a Fear of Falling?

Can you remember how as a kid you always wanted to walk along the tops of walls, or to climb trees? I doubt there’s any kid who did not share this compulsion to somehow reach a higher point or be able to see things from a different perspective or else to, quite simply, do what you’re told not to do.

There are only two fears which we are born with and a fear of falling is one of them. A fear of loud noises is the other. Most of us learn quickly to temper this fear of falling and do not go through life plagued by a fear of heights. The majority of children are able to conquer this fear at an early age and climb walls and trees to their hearts content. The desire to climb can clearly be seen to outweigh the instinctive fear of falling.

Yet some of us relearn this fear at a later date, and consequently find ourselves shaking like a leaf at the mere thought of climbing a ladder or looking out of a top floor window. When consumed by fear one’s ability to pay attention to logic momentarily evades us; a mist seems to grip the mind and one has a sense of pure emotion. The fear itself has the ability to create a loss of balance which of course is that last thing you would want to happen when perched at the top of a ladder.

Once standing firmly upon the ground, far away from anything to do with heights, your logical mind returns to its full functionality and you ask yourself why you are so afraid; your logical mind tells you that there is no need to hold this fear of heights, that other people climb ladders and mountains or enjoy the view from the tops of buildings.

To be completely free from a fear of falling would not be to one’s benefit. The fear of falling and fear of loud noises are inbred as a matter of adaptivity. These fears have proven to be beneficial to man; so beneficial they are passed from one generation to another within our genes. But to allow this fear to take over your life and to inhibit you from doing things which most people would perceive as normal is to allow the fear to have too much power.

If your fear has escalated in such a manner then you can do something about it. Your increased fear is something which you have learned and thus it can be unlearned. A feeling of balance and moderation can be reached, but only if you know how to get your mind around the issue.

Fear is felt instinctively and automatically. It is emotional as opposed to logical. Fear comes over you automatically. Therefore you need to find a way to access the automatic thinking part of your mind in order to be able to effect a change. Hypnosis provides a way in which you can easily access your subconscious mind, and hence change the thoughts and beliefs which are stored there. With hypnosis you can retrain your brain to overcome fear of heights and to feel comfortable in situations which you know logically to be safe.

Importance of Structural Drafting and Design Services in the Construction Industry

Structural drafting services are playing an essential role in any type of building construction. Anyone who is related with the structural industry must be aware of structural drafting and design. Structure design and drafting can be easily manipulated by using CAD design and drafting which takes a long time by making manually.

It is a genuine structural engineering service and it is most widely used in construction nowadays. It has the potential to rule construction industry as it offers sufficient benefits and strong applications for users.

Structural drafting perform various dimensional calculations and estimations prior to crafting building designs. Structure drafting solutions completely display the necessary details of structures and building materials to be used. It is considered as the future of structural engineering and construction as it is the most useful part of structural engineering.

It performs various dimensional calculations and estimations prior to crafting building designs. Structural design and drafting services are also very important for getting most favorable accuracy and reliability in any construction. CAD software develops a practical geometric digital model of the project from which the defects can easily be modified or can be changed to a new design easily.

Drafting and design is nothing else but an efficient production of building structures with specification of the dimensions. Basic drafting service include services like foundation plan drawings with footing, Shallow deep and machine foundation drawings, staircase detailing, slab details, roof truss and joist details.

These services are used in huge number of structural engineering areas which contain dams, shop designing and construction of residential buildings. Structural drafting and design are for innovative and effective solutions to all drafting engineering problems. Outsourcing your drafting and design related requirements can save your valuable amount of time and money.

Naming Stars in Different Cultures

While modern astronomers refer to most stars solely by catalog numbers and astronomy coordinates, many people informally name stars using name a star services. In fact, throughout history people from various cultures have used star names of their own choosing: Many civilizations explained their existence through mythological stories passed from generation to generation, and often associated these stories with the stars in the night sky. As we’ll see, even a major car company is named after the stars.

To illustrate, let’s start with a constellation (an area of the night sky) modern astronomers have named after a character from Greek and Roman mythology – “Orion,” the Great Hunter. Orion is one of the most well known and easily-identifiable constellations, and can be seen from just about anywhere on Earth: The best time to view Orion is during the evening hours between roughly December and March. Many classical mythology stories are told about Orion and how he came to be placed in the heavens. One such story is that Orion had no fear of any animal and therefore threatened to exterminate all of the animals of the earth. When Gaia, the goddess of the earth, heard this she became enraged and sent a scorpion to kill Orion. When Orion encountered the scorpion he was unable to kill it, and the scorpion stung Orion and sent him falling to the earth, fatally wounded. In honor of this story, Orion was placed in the night sky as a constellation, as was the scorpion – known as the constellation “Scorpius.”

While 21st century astronomers refer to the constellation “Orion” after a hunter from classical mythology, other cultures have had different interpretations of these same stars. One of the distinguishing features of Orion is a line of three, bright stars that form what is called “The Belt of Orion.” The ancient Egyptians thought these three bright stars were the resting place of the god Osiris. The Dogon people of West Africa viewed the three stars as the stairway to heaven. These same three stars have been associated with Christmas, viewed as representing the Magi – “The Three Wise Men” (The Three Kings) from the Bible. The people of the Marshall Islands viewed Orion’s stars as an octopus and a fisherman: The story told was of a fisherman who was attacked by an octopus. The fisherman defended himself by using a stone to stab the head of the octopus. Although the octopus was wounded he was able to spray his ink, behind which he hid and was able to escape. The Chimu Indians of Peru believed that the middle star of Orion’s belt represented a thief or mischief maker that the Moon Goddess punished. The Moon Goddess punished the wrongdoer by sending two stars to capture him and send him to four vultures that would eat him. This mythological story served as a warning for those who would commit crimes.

Another interesting example from classical mythology is related to a beautiful group of stars in the constellation Taurus called “The Pleiades,” or “The Seven Sisters.” These stars are visible in the evening sky from roughly November through April, and are often confused with “The Little Dipper” (which is in another constellation) as the bright stars of the Pleiades together resemble a very small dipper, or ladle. The story from classical mythology is that Orion, the hunter, became enamored of these seven beautiful ladies, and relentlessly pursued them throughout the world. Taking pity on the young women, Zeus placed them in the heavens where Orion continues to pursue them in the night sky.

Many cultures have also associated the Pleiades with females or femininity. The Australian Aborigines saw this group of stars as a cluster of girls who were musicians. These girls play their instruments for a group of young boys who are represented by the stars seen in Orion’s belt. Some Native American tribes viewed the Pleiades as seven mothers who were looking for their seven lost sons: According to the Chumash Indians of California, these seven sons had become the stars of the Big Dipper. The Kiowa Indians saw these stars as young women who were placed in the heavens by the Great Spirit so as to save them from attacking bears. In Norse mythology, they were the hens of Freya, the goddess of love, beauty and fertility. In Japan the Pleiades were known as “Subaru,” after which a Japanese car company is named.

Naming stars, then, is an age-old custom that has been practiced by different civilizations around the world.

The Advantages of Living in Texas

When deciding where to move after college or when you are looking for a new job, it is important to consider many factors as you look at different states. Texas, for example, is a great to state to live in today. For starters, the weather is really warm for most of the year. Also, you get great value as far as outdoor work on your home because coatings and scaffolding does not receive as much wear and tear since the weather is nice over the whole year. Thirdly, this state does not have an income tax, so it is much cheaper to live there when it is compared to other states. Finally, many of its big cities have constantly been listed as best places to live in the Recession. For all of these reasons and many more, people should seriously consider this state for a new home. Below are more specifics of the reasons listed above:

1. The weather is pretty gorgeous year round in this state. Some cities, like Houston, do tend to get very humid, but if you do not mind that, then it will most likely not be an issue. Studies have shown that many people get what is known as the “winter blues” because plenty of U.S. cities get very cold and grey over the winter. If you are in an area that does not get too cold, and remains sunny for most of the year, then odds are, you will have a much happier life.

2. Because the weather is warm throughout the year, the normal wear and tear on the outside of your home is a much slower process compared to homes in other states. For example, roofs get damaged when there is a lot of snow in the winter and, even worse, is when the water from snow leaks through your roof and causes water damage inside your home. This problem really does not happen in Texan cities.

3. There is no income tax in the “Lone Star State,” which means living is a lot cheaper than it is in the many other parts of the country. No income tax means that people do not have to pay the state any taxes on the money they make at work. This is what keeps the state economy going.

4. There have been many magazine articles and national rankings done about cities that are the “most Recession proof” or cities that are still seeing some growth during the Recession. Most of the big cities in the “Lone Star State” are on this list. What this means is that there are still jobs to be had in these cities and the housing market has not been hit very hard here. Also, you can get great value for a home in most of these cities because they are still in the growing stage.

There are plenty of other reasons why people should consider this state when they are looking for a job whether it is right out of college or because you have to change jobs.

Formica Countertop Vs Granite Countertop

Can I compare a formica countertop with a granite countertop? These are the questions I always get asked. Well, can you compare wood with stone? No you can’t! Same goes for countertops. A formica countertop is made up of chipboard as the core of the countertop and laminated with formica on the surface of the chipboard. The formica material it self also comes in a roll and can be used to stick above the countertop below the wall unit as a back splash. You can also make up your own laminated kitchen countertop by cutting a piece of chipboard, preferably 32mm thick, the shape you want and then sticking the formica onto the chipboard. One of the best glues to use would be either Contact glue or my favorite Gemkem. A formica countertop isn’t as durable as a granite countertop but it is durable. If you take care of your countertop you will get allot of mileage out of it.

How do you take care your counter tops?Unlike granite where you can cut on and place hot pots on, you can not do the same with formica counter tops. Although a formica countertop is scratch and heat resistant it isn’t scratch and heat proof. This means you can not cut on a formica countertop or place a hot pot on it but you can drag a pot across the counter without scratching it as well as place cooler temperature pots and pans on it without burning a hole in the formica. So if you’re asking whether a granite countertop is tougher than a formica countertop you have your answer but remember, granite cost’s about 5 times more than formica. And that’s the cheaper granite I’m talking about. Plus you can cut the countertop to size yourself you don’t need special machines and templates like you’d need with granite. This makes the formica countertop installation process allot easier.

Installing a formica countertop is very easy. So easy that fitters sometimes rush the job and make mistakes. Don’t make this mistake. “Measure twice cut once” is your number one rule when fitting a countertop, specialy when doing intricate measurements like your cut-outs for your sink and hob. Remember, it’s much easier to prevent a mistake than to fix one…that’s if it can be fixed. Formica counter tops also aren’t waterproof so when you’ve finished your sink and hob’s cut out seal the inside of the cut outs with marine silicone. The kind you use to build fishtanks with. This will prevent water form drawing into the chipboard and we all know what happens when water touches chipboard. Let’s just say “it’s like mixing water with Weatbix”.

A formica countertop is also easier to handle and lighter to work with. If you’ve ever carried a slab of granite up three flights of stairs you will know what I’m talking about.

Importance of Hiring a Professional Roofing Contractor

Many people try to do their own home repairs. It is easy to look at instructions and videos online and try to tackle a repair themselves. When it comes to roof repair and replacement, however, hiring a roofing professional is worth it.

A professional roofer has years of experience. No video can give you the knowledge the comes from years of training and practice. A professional roofer also knows about the materials and tools needed to get the job done correctly. Roofing is more complex that it initially seems and missing a small point can lead to problems later. An experienced roofer will also know where to look for the root of the problem, what caused the leak or damage in the first place. A professional roofing company will be licensed and insured. New roofs installed by a professional roofing company come with warranties. DIY projects can’t get help for faulty work or materials.

Climbing up on a roof is dangerous work. Falls from roofs are a common occurrence. A professional roofer has been trained in the proper way to move materials to the rooftop and has all the safety equipment and experience needed to get the job done safely.

Repair or replacing a residential roof is a big job. It can take a professional roofing crew two or more days to finish a home. A DIY job will take much longer as it lacks the proper tools, equipment, know-how, and man power. A DIYer will need to look up instructions and refer to reference materials while a professional already knows how to get the task completed. Not only is getting it done quickly more convenient, but the roof is exposed during the process, which can result in further or developing problems.

Doing it yourself, as opposed to hiring a professional contractor doesn’t save as much money as it might seem. Roofing companies can get materials at a discounted rate so they get better quality materials for the dollar. A DIY project will most likely require purchasing new tools. There are long term costs resulting from mistakes, improper materials and installation. Professionally roofed homes have fewer maintenance costs in the long run.

If there is a possibility you will be selling your home in coming years, hiring a qualified professional roofer adds value to your home. What Color Eye Shadow Works with Green Eyes? How to Choose Makeup Colors Perfectly

Do you know how to create beautiful, stunning eyes that really pop? Do you want the first thing people see when they look at you be your beautiful green eyes? The real secret to makeup is to complement what you already have naturally. This is especially true with eye shadow. The colors you choose can make all the difference.

The eyes are one of the first things that are noticed when you look at a person. They are the focal point that can be beautifully accented in many different ways. Eye makeup defines the eyes even more and you can be as creative as you like. However, there are certain colors that you can use to really make green eyes stand out to the world.

Colors, Colors, Colors

So what shades can you put on your green eyes to make them stand out? Despite what you may have heard, avoid greens. All green eye shadow does is camouflage your gorgeous eyes. To make your eyes stand out, you need a shade that contrasts yet complements your green eye shade.

Some great color ideas for green eyes include:

o Plums

o Purple

o Violet

Don’t be afraid to experiment with bolder, brighter colors. If you have light skin, you will want to go with a brown-hued eyeliner instead of black or even a plum or purple shade of eyeliner.

Put the color eyeliner in the corners of your bottom eyelash area then line the whole top lashes with the same color. Next try a light color eye shadow and put it on your brow bone area then a darker shade on your lid.

There are so many different types of products available today that you are not limited to what type and colors you use. Now you can accessorize your eyes with a beautiful array of powders, creams and glittery dustings. Also note that Almay has a line of eye makeup specifically for green eyes that you might want to try out.

Eye Makeup Application Tips

When applying your eye shadow, the proper technique can create that ‘pop’ more than the actual makeup color. So take the time to learn the proper application process to get the most from your eye makeup.

Traditional eye shadow powders are very easy to use with small applicator brushes and foam pads. For a dimensional look, blend two colors of powder or one color of powder on top of a cream shadow base. You might choose to use your own brushes instead of the brushes and applicators that come in the packaging of makeup. This way you can have longer brush handles and more control over the application.

With cream-based eye shadows, remember that less really is more. The cream shadows generally come in small squeeze tubes that really enhance the look of your eyes with a light application across the lid, reaching up to your brows if you wish. You may use a small tipped brush or a Q-tip to help you apply the crème properly.

Running or ‘melting’ eye shadow – Melting eye shadow is a problem for many women, but there is a way to make it ‘stick’ a little longer. If you use a damp eye shadow brush and apply a layer of face powder to your lids and allow setting; the shadow will stay in place for the day.

Eye Makeup Safety Tips

The eyes are also a very sensitive part of the body. It’s very easy to get infections in the eye and to do so can affect your eyesight permanently.

You should never share eye makeup this could cause eye infections. Try not to get makeup in your eyes, if you do rinse them out as quickly as possible with warm water. Be extra careful if you were contact lenses.

Eye Care

The right eye shadow won’t matter when your eyes are puffy, swollen or red. You need to know how to take care of this delicate area of the eye so that your green eyes always look their best. Below are some basic eye care tips that will help your eyes look hot both day and night.

1. Get enough sleep at night.

2. Drink lots of water each day.

3. Avoid salty foods that cause you to retain water.

4. Certain moisturizers not designed for the eye area can create puffiness.

5. Before applying eye make up, soothe puffy eyes with a metal spoon held under cold water for a few minutes and then gently pressed onto the eye area.

6. Cool cucumber slices on the eyes at the end of the day are a great soothing technique.

7. Elevate your head while you sleep if you tend to wake up with ‘bags under your eyes’.

8. Always remove your eye makeup completely before going to bed.

9. Avoid using harsh chemicals to remove your eye makeup.

10. Keep contacts cleaned and changed regularly.

Following these steps can keep your eyes looking fresh and young so they will be even more beautiful when you expertly apply your makeup.

Importance of Removing Eye Makeup

It is vital to remove all makeup before going to bed at night. It is needed to keep your skin healthy. If you leave makeup on your face it could lead to clogged pores and dull looking skin, but leaving eye makeup on can lead to infection occurring in the eyes.

It can also cause you to have red irritated eyes. No matter how tired you are always take a few minutes to remove the makeup for your own benefit. If the area around your eyes become irritated you could begin to have an allergic reaction in this area. Not only could your eyes become red, but you could also experience pain and itching of the eyes. Repeatedly applying makeup to already irritated skin will make things much worse.

Of course, removing eye makeup is the hardest of all makeup to remove. However, there are a few tips that can help in this area. They are listed below.

* Vaseline

* Olive oil

* Cold cream

* Baby oil

Whichever method you use to remove eye makeup, you can still follow the same basic directions. Take a cotton ball with the cleaning product and gently wipe over the eye lids, then if needed you can use a warm damp washcloth to remove the cleaning product.

If the price and inconvenience of repeated visits to a cosmetic dentist are not for you, there are still options like teeth whitening paint that many people have taken advantage of over the years. Some advantages are obvious, like being able to administer the procedure at home rather than traveling to a dental office or the large amount of money you will save with a teeth whitening paint product.

The advantage of carbamide is that it will not harm your teeth like hydrogen peroxide can and is the recommended choice of bleaching agents by most dentists.

‘Daoist Health Preservation Exercises’ By Bian Zhizhong – A Review

Chinese anti-aging and longevity expert Bian Zhizhong looks to natural treatments to restore youthfulness and prolong healthy life in ‘Daoist Health Preservation Exercises’ (1996) from China Today Press. He explains why these are more effective than traditional Western methods before setting out in easy-to-understand detail, practical methods and routines with supplementary drawn illustrations for those interested to follow as part of a relatively short text (144 pp) but one jam-packed with sound practical advice.

Never judge a book by its cover,’ they say. However in this case the aforementioned, showing two Cranes walking to and fro with outstretched necks, should not be ignored. The Crane, a Chinese Longevity symbol, has good habits that help make it long-lived, These include Qigong practice. Safe in their mountainous, forested retreats Cranes walk to and fro with necks outstretched calling out ‘He’ forcibly exhaling stale air after a long day’s flying and feeding many miles away– thus the Crane’s is ‘He’ in Chinese. They are also associated, via 5 Elements Theory, with Water and the kidneys, hence the association between the latter and good health and longevity made by Bian Zhizhong at various points in his text.

The author initially laments the fact that exercise and sport are not, by themselves, conducive to longevity, pointing out that even athletes and manual workers may age quickly and die young. “How can we restore youthfulness?” (p.15) he asks, when medicines, drugs, hormone therapy, organ transplants etc may upset the body’s natural balance and cause illnesses to develop as a consequence (p.19). These disturb the immune system’s natural pattern of hormone production essentially associated with the kidney-the resulting imbalance making us more prone to disease and sickness than before.

The body’s internal and external performance and overall health are, he argues, best improved by Qigong practice combining breath control, exercise and external self-massage focusing on the ‘xiadan’ or lower abdominal area of the body (front and rear). The kidneys, intimately associated with internal and external watery secretions are essential to healthy growth, development and aging. Strong kidney vitality means long life and good health and weak kidneys early, fast aging and a short lifespan the author states (p.17) before presenting details of the preventative and remediative exercises of the Huashan Mountain Daoist Qigong School (to which he belongs) which focus on this area in particular.

Exercises fall into three categories: i. Rhythmic Breathing (e.g. Restoring Spring p.19); ii. Exercise Routines (e.g. Dragon Swimming p.32) and iii. External Self-Massage (e.g. Rubbing the Dragon’s Head p.93). Regular combined practice of these for general health and fitness purposes, as part of a regular exercise routine, should cause noticeable improvements to various bodily functions within a relatively short time (my own experiences indicate that this is so).

The author then proceeds to list commonly occurring chronic conditions and/or areas of ill-health and assigns to each a prescription of routines drawn from i) to iii) above. This is interspersed with ‘vignettes’ taken from case-records of such treatments in action to indicate the potential effects of dedicated application of his methods on the conditions concerned.

A final extensive report (relating to the treatment of impotence) from a grateful ex patient testifies to such practices’ efficacy in treating a range of conditions inflicting untold misery upon many. All this may be achieved without surgery or drugs (and the consequent imbalances to internal bodily functions their use occasions) the book makes clear whilst these exercises also help to maintain and restore the body’s natural hormonal balance at the same time.
