Titanium Time Travels

Ready to escape to nature? Outdoor activities are a favorite outlet for many of us to decompress from the day-to-day routine. A popular outdoor activity is to hit the trial on a great hike and overnight camping adventure. Of course, if we are camping, we are usually cooking. There’s nothing like some fresh air with a healthy dose of nature to build up a good appetite! In this article, I will highlight a brief history of titanium, an important element now found in some light-weight camping cookware.

First, let’s start by understanding titanium is a chemical element you may have learned about in chemistry class, with the symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is the ninth-most abundant element in the Earth’s crust and the seventh-most abundant metal. It is a lustrous transition metal with a lovely silver color, low density and highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metallic element. In its unalloyed condition, titanium is as strong as some steels, but less dense. Impressive! It is highly resistant to corrosion in sea water, aqua Regia and chlorine. So, what does this have to do with camping cookware? We love titanium because it is light weight in our packs, exceptionally strong and a good investment, as it holds up well over time.

Speaking of time, did you know titanium was first discovered in Cornwall, Great Britain by William Gregor, the vicar of the Creed parish and amateur geologist in 1791? Gregor recognized the presence of a new element in ilmenite when he found black sand by a stream in the nearby parish of Manaccan. It seemed the sand was attracted by a magnet, so Gregor analyzed the sand and determined the presence of two metal oxides: iron oxide and a whitish metallic oxide he could not identify. Realizing the unidentified oxide contained a metal that did not match any known elements, Gregor reported his findings to the Royal Geological Society of Cornwall and in the German science journal Crell’s Annalen. Interestingly a few years later the oxide was independently discovered in 1795 by Prussian chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth, in what we now call Slovakia. Klaproth named the new element for the strong Titans in Greek mythology.

Fast forward to the 1950’s and 1960’s, the Soviet Union pioneered the use of titanium in military and submarine applications as part of their Cold War programs. Beginning in the early 1950’s, titanium was frequently used in military aviation, particularly in high-performance jets, such as the F-100 Super Sabre, Lockheed A-12 and SR-71.

Recognizing the strategic value of titanium, the U.S. Department of Defense supported early commercialization throughout the Cold War. So much so, that a large stockpile of titanium was maintained by the Defense National Stockpile Center, until it was finally depleted in the 2000’s. As of 2015, titanium sponge metal was produced in six countries: China, Japan, Russia, Kazakhstan, United States, Ukraine and India (in order of output). So, there you have it – who knew titanium is found and valued worldwide? Today we know that it is a wonderful cooking companion on our many travels across the great outdoors.

Cleaning Your Home Office

It is important that your home office is always clean and tidy, as this means that you would be able to work to a much better standard. Spring cleaning is something that helps individuals to get back into the working routine after the winter, so it is surely something that is worth doing for your own benefit.

The first thing that you have to do is to work out what you no longer need to keep. If you have a large office, or even just a desk, it makes sense to start at one end and then work your way along. You should put things into piles based on whether you think you will need them in the future or not. The things that you will definitely never need again should be shredded and put in the bin. The things that you might need again could be put into a box, but make sure that you are not too sentimental when you're leaving the things that you need to keep. Once you have decided on the documents that you definitely need, you should make sure that you place them into files that you will be able to access easily whenever you need to. A little effort here will save a lot of time later.

Cleaning is very important, so it is worth doing a good job. You should ensure that all of your surfaces are clear so that you can get all of the dust. Then, work from one end of the office to the other, and wipe down every surface. This includes your windows, desk, and your computer. After this, you should make sure that everything that sits on your desk has been cleaned before it is returned, otherwise it will simply replace the dirt that you have cleaned away.

Finally, it is important that you get yourself organized. If you are the type of person who never seems to be able to find the things that they need, this is the perfect chance for you to change that. You should make sure that everything has a specific place, and that the things that you use are regularly easy to reach.

Now, you should be able to see if you need to buy anything for your office that you have run out of. Once you have done this, you will be in the position to begin using your office again, and this means that you will be able to be productive in your work.

Good Health Takes Planning

With kids back in school, personal vacations ending, and work schedules getting busier it is more important than ever to make good nutrition a top priority. If learning how to, or continuing to eat healthy is not on your list of to-do’s, now is the time to add it in.

When good health is not a priority it is easy to let it slip when times get busy. For example, when you have several things going on after work or school it can be easier to order unhealthy takeout food rather than cooking something more nutritious. Or if you do not have healthy snacks on hand at work, it is seems convenient to go to the vending machine between meals.

I have put several practices in place in my life to help avoid such pitfalls.

  1. Plan ahead. Plan enough meals to get you through the week. These should include items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once you have a weekly menu, grocery shop when you have time.
  2. Cook food in bulk. This will save you time later when you are not home to cook a meal. If the dish is large, freeze half or part of it for a later meal. Or, if you want to be able to cook something on a specific day, prepare some of it ahead of time. Ideas include cutting up the vegetables, making the sauce, or setting out all of the ingredients.
  3. Keep snacks at work or on hand. At the beginning of each week I walk down the street to the grocery store and stock up on fruit to keep in my desk drawer. That way, I always have something fresh and I am never forced to choose from foods I do not want.
  4. Always sit down for dinner. If time allows, I will also step away from work to eat lunch. It is important to disconnect yourself from other things so that you can focus on your food. You will be more in tune with your body’s hunger cues and will likely eat fewer calories.
  5. Choose wisely. If you have to eat out, or want to eat out, choose items that are healthier. Avoid fried foods or items that are high in fat and calories. A great idea is to check out the restaurant’s website for nutrition information ahead of time. That way you are never surprised when you go to order.

As you can see from this list, none of these ideas are complicated. Good health is about incorporating things that work for you. You may have several other ideas that work better. The key is finding out what works best in your life and then applying it.

Vacuum Cleaners – What You Shouldn’t Do to Your Vacuum Cleaner

Practically every household these days has a vac. After all, this handy contraption makes cleaning the house much easier – particularly if you have kids running around every time trying to make a mess of everything. If you are one of those families that rely on them to get the cleaning done, it would help to make sure that the model that you have in your home is properly maintained to ensure that you’ll get to use it for a long time. Here are some tips.

1. Do not use faulty extension cords:

One of the worst mistakes that you can commit when using a vacuum cleaner is plugging it to a faulty extension cord. Extension cords come with amp ratings and their wattage’s are clearly marked to help you determine just what types of appliances they can power. Make sure to use an extension cord that can handle vacs. Using unsuitable extensions is a common mistake that a lot of households commit. You could be risking irreversible damage and even fire due to faulty wiring if you overlook this.

2. Never pull the cleaner by the cord:

You can damage the vac if you pull it or even carry it by its cord. Using vacs with faulty cords is also risky. You can suffer from electrocution, and fire can break out. Make sure to inspect your electrical cords every month to ensure that your cleaner is still safe to use.

3. Never use it where it is not supposed to be used:

Another mistake that a lot of people tend to commit is using one designed for the home outside the house. You can’t use an indoor cleaner outside because it is not designed to handle the debris commonly found in your garage. You also shouldn’t use cleaners on a wet surface.

4. Don’t pick up hard items:

Before you think of picking up a penny using a vacuum, you might want to consider the damage it could do to the appliance. Hard objects can crack the fan blades on the vac. Make sure to scan the room first for these objects before you run the vacuum all over the floor.

5. Do regular vac maintenance:

Vacs do not require much maintenance. You only need to clean the brush role, empty the dirt container, and wash the filters once in a while. Make sure to allot some time to regularly maintain your vac to ensure longevity of the appliance.

Using Gradebook Software From a Portable USB Drive

Teachers need to record the grades of their students should use some type of gradebook software to help them save time and make grading students easier. When choosing gradebook software there is plenty of choice, and gradebook programs can be broadly divided into the stand-alone programs that work without Internet access and those that require Internet connectivity and typically run from a web browser.

A portable gradebook

With the increasing popularity of web-based services and applications, you may expect that gradebook software that does not connect to the Internet is no longer necessary. One of the advantages of a web based gradebook is that you can work on your student results from any computer – provided of course that it has a working Internet connection. In this article you will learn how to use a stand-alone gradebook from a removable USB Flash drive so you can have the same advantage of being able to work from any computer.

A significant advantage of running your gradebook software from a removable USB drive is that you do not need the Internet. There is no denying that the World Wide Web has dramatically changed the way we use computers, but one problem is that it does not always work. In a school or home environment it is probably fair to say that everyone has had times when their access to the Internet has been unreliable or non-existent. And there is the additional issue of what happens when there are problems with the servers running a web based gradebook.

At these times, you realize that it can be advantageous to have both your data and program running locally. Having the data and software on a USB memory stick or removable Flash drive means you can work without the Internet and anywhere you need to. You can expect all personal computers built since the start of this century to include a USB socket which opens up the possibility of doing your grades on any PC.

Possible problems

Once you have decided to run your gradebook software from a USB drive, you need to make sure that this is possible. Issues to be aware of that sometimes sometimes prevent software from running properly on a portable USB drive are:

  1. Dependency on other software files or libraries
  2. Use of the Windows registry
  3. The requirement of fixed folder names and paths

Here these problems are discussed with suggestions on resolving the issues.

Software dependency

Some software requires additional support from program libraries or files that are not necessarily installed on all PCs. What this can mean is that even after you install your gradebook onto a removable USB drive, some of the necessary files may only be installed onto your local C drive. What happens then is that when you remove the USB drive and plug it into another PC and try to run your program it may refuse to run, or give an error message because of a missing file (or files).

The potential of this sort of problem ocurring can depend on the particular development tool that the programmer has used to write the gradebook in. While not a complete list, software developed in Visual Basic, .NET or Java can be very dependent on having the correct version of the supporting libraries on the PC that you want to run the gradebook on. Usually you can resolve this issue by making sure the PC you are using is up-to date for those environments.

If you try to run your gradebook and you still get an error message about a missing file, and it does not appear to be related to the above environments, it could mean that there are other additional files that the program depends on. This may be related to database use. If this occurs you may have success solving the problem by using the Find or Search application on your Windows desktop to track down the missing file with the name shown in the error message. The file may be in the Windows folder or in one of the System folders below it. Beginning the search from C: Windows is a good place to start the search.

Assuming you can find the file that the error message is reporting, you can then copy it into the gradebook program folder on the USB drive. Then try to run the gradebook again. If you are lucky the gradebook will run, but it is likely that there will be another file now reported as missing. And so you can repeat the process of finding the file on your local C drive and copying it too onto the USB drive. Depending on how your gradebook has been put together this process may need to be repeated quite a few times before the program will run.

Registry issues

Programs that depend on the Windows registry can also lead to errors, but this time it is not a file that is missing, but instead missing data. What can happen is that when you install your gradebook software onto the removable USB drive, important values are written to the Windows registry that is on your local C drive. Then when you test the gradebook on the same PC it runs well because the registry settings are present. But then when you take the USB drive with the gradebook to a different PC those registry settings will not be present and again the program may refuse to run.

Even though the gradebook may complain of the missing registry values, in some cases it will continue to run by recreating the values it expects in the registry and setting them to default values. Assuming the program does run, this may only result in the inconvenience of some of your gradebook preferences being forgotten and having to be set again to the way you want them.

In other cases the Windows registry may have been used to store important licensing information that is required for the gradebook to run. And then any attempt to run it from a portable USB drive is more likely to result in the program behaving like it is unregistered and not licensed to run on other PCs. In this event the vendor of your gradebook software may be able to offer a solution to get around this problem. That is, if running the program in this way is allowed by the licensing agreement.

Fixed folder locations

With modern software the problem of fixed expectations of folder paths and locations should be unlikly. Developers are hopefully more aware of a user's need to install software at locations that can vary from the recommended default in the install program. While there may be technical reasons to prefer a specific location for a program, there should be ways of working around this, either in the program preferences or by editing a configuration file. Again you will need to contact the software vendor to see what's possible in this regard.

Freedom

Once you get your gradebook running from a USB drive and experience the freedom it offers, you may want to investigate other software that can run in a portable way. The PortableApps.com website at http://www.portableapps.com has many applications that can be run from a USB drive and it is well worth a visit. It is sure to give you many ideas on using programs in a more convenient way. With the ever increasing capacity of USB Flash drives and the associated falling cost, it means even large applications can be run in this way.

Men’s Suits – Understanding the Suit’s Parts

In this article we will discuss the parts that make up a man’s suit. Although off the rack suits afford you little flexibility in adjusting these parts, the man who goes with a bespoke or made to measure suit has the freedom of choosing the option that best compliment his body. In any case, all men should understand the basics of the suit and its parts so that they buy a garment that accentuates their most positive traits.

Single or Double Breasted

The first and perhaps most noticeable element of the suit is whether it is single or double-breasted. Single-breasted suits have a single row of buttons down the front, and the jacket flaps only overlap enough to permit buttoning. A double-breasted suit has two rows of buttons, and the front overlaps sufficiently to allow both flaps to be attached to the opposite row of buttons. The choice between single- and double-breasted is a matter of personal taste, though the vast majority of American men choose single breasted suits as that this is what is readily available to them; also a lack of familiarity with the double-breasted option may account for the single-breasted suit’s dominance. Thin gentlemen, particularly those who are somewhat taller, can benefit greatly from double-breasted suits, as they will give a fuller appearance to the figure; on larger men, double-breasted suits can have a tendency to draw attention to the midsection, so careful attention and an expert tailor should be employed.

Lapels

Lapels come in a variety of styles with a number of options. The lapels’ width is perhaps subject to the most variance, with the extremely narrow lapels of the 1950s standing in stark contrast to the excessively wide lapels of the 1970s. As is the case with much of classic fashion, the most timeless lapels are of a moderate width. In addition to different widths, suit lapels come in two styles: notched, which has a wide V-shaped opening where the lapel and collar join; and peaked, which flares out in a sharp point with a very narrow deep V at the join. Notched and peaked lapels are equally classic, though the latter are most commonly found on double-breasted jackets. A peak lapel on a single-breasted jacket is an excellent way to raise its level of formality, but is almost impossible to find on anything but a custom made suit

Waist Buttons

A suit jacket has either one row of buttons or two, depending on whether it is single- or double-breasted. A single-breasted jacket has a single row of buttons, numbering anywhere from one to four, though two and three are the most common. The three-button jacket is the most traditional configuration, taking its cue from English riding jackets; properly worn, it gives the illusion of height. Traditionally, only the middle or second button is fastened when standing, though the top two buttons may be fastened to produce a slightly more formal appearance. Two-button suits are a slightly later innovation, and because they show more of the shirt and tie, can produce a slightly more slimming appearance. Only the top button of a two-button jacket is fastened; with the exception of a jacket with only one button, the bottom button of a single-breasted jacket is never fastened.

Double-breasted jackets most commonly have either four or six buttons on each side – where there are six buttons, only the lower four are for buttoning, though due to the design of the suit, only two will actually be buttoned at any given time. There is also an extra hidden button on the reverse of the outside flap of a double-breasted suit, onto which the inside or “hidden” flap attaches. Contrary to the habits of certain celebrities, a double-breasted jacket is never left unbuttoned when standing, permitting it to flap around wildly; it is always securely buttoned upon standing and remains buttoned until one is again seated. Additionally, while the bottom button of a single-breasted jacket is always left undone, both of the operable buttons on a double-breasted jacket are fastened. As with the gorge of the lapel, the height of the waist buttons can been altered slightly to accentuate or diminish height, but this must be done carefully.

Sleeve Buttons

There are numerous historical reasons for jacket sleeves bearing buttons, from encouraging the use of handkerchiefs to allowing a gentleman to wash his hands without removing his jacket, a traditionally grave social offense in mixed company. Whatever the reason for their arrival on jacket sleeves, they now form an important part of the detail work or trimming of the jacket. Most traditionally, jacket sleeves bear four buttons, though it is not uncommon to find three. Regardless of number, there should be at least as many of them as there are buttons on the waist, and they are always placed within a half-inch or so of the hem. On bespoke suits, and even some of the higher-quality made-to-measure jackets, the sleeve buttons are functional. When the buttons are functional, there is some temptation to leave one button undone in order to draw attention to the feature – and by extension, the quality of the suit – though this is a matter of personal taste.

Jacket Pockets

The most formal are jetted pockets, where the pocket is sewn into the lining of the jacket and only a narrow horizontal opening appears on the side of the jacket. These pockets, being nearly invisible, contribute to a very sleek, polished appearance, and are most frequently found on formal-wear. The next style, the flap pocket, is slightly less formal, though it is perfectly acceptable in all the circumstances where a gentleman is likely to be found in a suit. Flap pockets are made identically to jetted pockets, but include a flap sewn into the top of the pocket, which covers the pocket’s opening. These are the most common pockets on suit jackets, and in the very best, are fabricated so that the wearer may tuck the flaps inside, mimicking the jetted pocket. There are also diagonally-cut flap pockets known as hacking pockets, though they are somewhat less common; the hacking pocket is derived from English riding gear, and is most prominent on bespoke suits from English tailors, particularly those traditionally associated with riding clothes. The least formal are patch pockets, which are exactly what the name implies: pockets created by applying a patch to the outside of the jacket. Patch pockets are the most casual option; they are frequently found on summer suits that would otherwise appear overly formal, as well as on sports jackets.

Ticket pocket

Some jackets, particularly bespoke and finer made-to-measure offerings, include a small ticket pocket above one of the side pockets, generally on the same side as the wearer’s dominant hand. This pocket is rarely used in modern times, and serves more as an indication of the suit’s quality.

Breast Pocket

Moving up the jacket is the breast pocket, which is always open, and into which only one item is ever placed: the handkerchief or pocket square. The reason for this is twofold: First, like the side pockets, any items placed in the breast pocket create lumpy projections which distort the sleek appearance of the suit, and second, the breast pocket and the inside left pocket share the same space in the jacket’s lining, meaning that objects in the breast pocket tend to force items in the inside pocket into the wearer’s ribs, which is quite uncomfortable.

Vents

Moving on from pockets we find the vents, flap-like slits in the bottom of the jacket which accommodate movement and offer easy access to the trouser pockets. Jackets have three styles: center, side, or none. Ventless jackets, just as the name implies, have no vents, and are popular on Continental suits; they provide a very sleek look to the back of the jacket, though they can lead to wrinkling when the wearer sits down. Center-vented jackets, very popular on American suits, have a single slit at the back, allowing the jacket to expand at the bottom when sitting. Because of its placement, center-vented jackets have a habit of exposing the wearer’s posterior, though most seem not to mind, as center vents remain the most popular style. A side-vented jacket has two vents, one on either side, generally just behind the trouser pockets, to provide easy access. Side vents also facilitate sitting more easily, moving as needed to prevent the rumpling of the jacket back, which leads to creasing.

The Facts About ISO

You may be asking yourself, what is ISO? It has everything to do with the digital settings in a camera. It is a highly respected aspect in people who are dedicated to digital photography and consider it an art form.

You will need to keep yourself informed of many aspects of a digital camera including shutter speeds and the more technical aspects of photography including background and foreground ratio. It is actually some of these easy steps that assist a photographer in snapping incredible photos.

ISO settings also have a lot to do with the lighting and they are used to adjust the camera to the right capacity so that the lighting filters in. For example an ISO setting of about 100 would be the perfect setting if you were photographing a person very close to you or who was in a very well lit setting.

If you decide to place your subject in a more dimly lit atmosphere, you will then need to increase the ISO and place the subject in an indoor atmosphere or perform some soft and sultry night shots of them.

The best way to know how your camera’s ISO settings work is to try them out a few at a time and see what works best for you and produces the highest quality pictures. It is no promise to the photographer that higher ISO will automatically lend him or her nicer pictures.

The setting of 400 to 800 is the absolute perfect setting for those romantic evenings with just the two of you. If you want to capture a fast moving animal or object such as a train or a gazelle, above a 1600 setting seems best in that situation.

If you are a beginner when it comes to taking photos, learning the technical aspects of your camera is always your best bet. You will need to check and see if your camera manually or automatically sets its ISO. If it is indeed automatic, this means it can automatically adjust itself to whatever lighting it is in. If it doesn’t do so automatically, you will have to spend a bit more time on the manual setting.

As a beginner photographer or even a seasoned professional you will learn that lighting is truly your best friend no matter what you are snapping pictures of. The lighting of a picture can take a drab and grey picture and turn it into a bright and cheery masterpiece. As you learn more about photography, you will gain a keen sense and eye for what truly can become a beautiful photograph.

Top 3 Penny Stock Investing Strategies

As you probably already know, penny stock investing is very risky. In fact, it is probably the most dangerous investing method of all. And it is also very profitable. Nothing beats being an owner of a stock, whose share price went from $0.12 to $22 in a few weeks. But not every penny stock trading is the same. There are as many techniques as there are investors, though we can identify three major strategies that are the most common. You definitely should consider choosing one of them, and then refining it further to match your trading style.

1. Cheap Stocks On Major Stock Exchanges

By common definition the shares of penny stocks are trading below $5. There are really many stocks like that on major stock exchanges, like the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), NASDAQ or AMEX. Trading these penny stocks is just as safe as trading any stock on these exchanges. Stocks listed on major exchanges have to undergo very strict reporting requirements, so you can be sure those companies mean business. They are not some shell companies started for whatever dubious reasons, but established businesses with a past and a future.

All this may seem safe enough, or at least not riskier than regular stock trading. However you have to consider one major drawback before deciding to follow the path of trading cheap stocks on major stock exchanges.

Companies that want to be listed on NYSE, NASDAQ or AMEX have to pay astronomical listing fees. So, penny stocks you find on these exchanges are probably not small companies just starting out in hopes of making it big. Most probably they are once large companies, whose share price plummeted because of financial troubles or some other dire reasons. Just take Sprint (S) for example, listed on the NYSE. In the year 2000, at the peak of the dot-com craze, the share price of Sprint went to $75, only to reach the lows of $2 in 2012. As of October, 2014 it is trading at around $6.

Your main job when utilizing this method is to find out why a certain penny stock is trading on such a low share price. You have to believe in your chosen stock, that despite the bad times it can still soar in the future.

2. Stocks On Over-The-Counter Markets and Pink Sheets

On over-the-counter (OTC) markets and Pink Sheets you won’t find companies that were once big but have fallen from grace. These penny stocks are usually really small startups with a share price below $1. There are thousands of them, and you cannot ignore the research necessary to filter out those 95% of them which are useless. OTC penny stocks have other kinds of risks altogether.

They are extremely illiquid. Not many shares are traded daily, so if you buy a stock on an OTC market, later you may find yourself in a position that you simply cannot sell it for profit, because of the low volume and a large spread between the bid and the ask price. You won’t be able to find a buyer.

The other risk is that the great majority of stocks on OTC markets are really low quality, junk stocks, and only a few of them are worth further research. Knowing how to find the good ones is the key point.

3. Ride The Pump And Dump

This is unquestionably the most dangerous strategy. Penny stock trading gets all the bad press primarily because of the pump-and dump schemes.

Pump-and-dump is a very common and unethical (even criminal) activity where scammers buy up the majority of shares of a low quality OTC penny stock, and then they promote it heavily, so that gullible investors buy the stock too, thereby driving up the share price. When the share price has rocketed, the fraudsters simply sell their shares, causing the immediate collapse of the share price, leaving the investors with a worthless penny stock, unable to recover.

The question then is can you profit exploiting this fraudulent activity. There are two ways. The first way is probably unethical, but the second way will make you the king of penny stock trading.

The first method is to identify a pump-and-dump scheme as early as possible, and get in while the share price is still rising. Even more importantly you will have to get out before the share price collapses. In other words, you are doing exactly what the scammers are doing with the stock, only with much less information. This, of course, is a very risky strategy, and probably an unethical one, because – if you are successful – you are clearly taking the money from the victims of the scam.

The other much more exciting technique is to short the pump-and-dump penny stock at the exact moment, when you are sure the share price has reached its peak and the collapse is imminent. This is how Timothy Sykes, the famous penny stock millionaire made $3 million out of $12,000 in a couple of years. If you are good at technical analysis and have access to appropriate research tools, you can screen for possible pump-and-dump penny stocks and go against the crowd by shorting them.

Conclusion

Whichever strategy you choose, always keep in mind that you are sailing the most dangerous waters of investing if you are dealing with penny stocks. Learning and researching is important in every type of investing, but in the case of penny stocks it is absolutely crucial. Always do your homework and your rewards will be big and fast profits. Good luck!

The Pushup and the Jump Rope A Brutal Bodyweight Training Combo

In today’s society most people use a couple of different ways to get themselves into what they call shape. In reality most people have no idea what getting fit really means. Getting fit is not driving to the gym to walk on a treadmill than doing some curls in hopes of getting bigger arms to impress the ladies.

Being fit means to be able to answer when your body is called upon. If you look around you will find person after person jogging up and down the streets in the name of fitness. Jogging takes a lot of time up and in my opinion does little other than make you a jogger.

I can give you just two exercises that if done would bring massive benefits in total body development as well as build a lean attacking type body and lower body fat.

Problem is people jog because it’s the easy way out. The easy way out never works. The two exercises’ I want to tell you about will amaze you and results will come extremely fast but at a price. The price is sweat.

Each exercise is a king of exercises in their own right, but together they make up a killer combination.

Jumping rope and pushups are a combination that will have the fittest man or woman in a pool of sweat in just a few short minutes. Both these exercises combined or alone are enough to get you into great shape without ever leaving your home.

Both the pushup and jumping rope have been used by great athletes for decades. But with the media the basics have been thrown aside for more complicated glamor type pretty boy workouts that focus on the six pack of abs.

A quick short workout using a jump rope and pushups will put you back to simpler times, times when people worked out to get into shape not to just look good.

Both exercises will work almost the entire body and with only two exercises and the speed of the results, you will become more athletic, leaner and more explosive than using the standard health club training routine put together for you by some trainer who hasn’t earned the sweat yet. Remember it’s the simple and hard work that get the results.

The workout: Jump rope as fast as possible 100 times then drop down for 25 pushups doing them as fast as possible. You will repeat this back and fourth with no rest for 10 rounds meaning you will finish off with having jumped rope 1,000 times and doing 250 pushups. See how many rounds or how many times you can do this circuit.

Window Repair or Window Replacement?

Even windows and glass doors of the highest quality will eventually need to undergo repair or replacement. Wear and tear is a natural process that occurs over long periods of time, even with recommended window maintenance and regular cleaning.

Other influencing factors include weather exposure and old window frames, not to mention breakage and chips from accidents around the property. Deciding when it’s time for window repair, and whether or not you require full window replacement can be assessed by considering these following points.

Reasons for Window Replacement

Window replacement is called for when the problem at hand either cannot be fixed, or when a repair job only temporarily fixes a problem that is likely to occur again, and continually cost you money.

1. Out-Dated Windows:

The structure, design and materials used to make and maintain windows continually changes. Standards and quality improve and old fittings become outdated and damaged.

Certain minor damages such as window chips and broken seals are repairable, but if these problems are continually occurring, it may be worth investing in new windows. You’ll find that there are a lot more options on the market, including pioneering energy efficient windows that use high quality window glazing, gas fills, and a more extensive range of frame materials.

You may also find that the older your windows get, the harder it is to find repair parts. An easier option, even for petty window damages, can sometimes be to replace them.

2. Rotten Wood:

Wooden window frames can easily suffer from moisture and weather damage, however if tended to correctly and promptly, they are easy to restore back to life. If not, the thing to look out for is if the wood has rotten to the core. This calls for an entire replacement, whether it be the window sash, the rail, the muntin bar, the window jamb, or the entire frame.

3. Damages and Breakage:

If broken or smashed panes occur, certain action must be taken in order to avoid dangerous outcomes. The safest solution is to seek a full repair service from professional window repairers. A possible exception may be if the particular material used is either extremely expensive or you are unable to find a replacement, in which case a professional repair job may suffice.

Reasons for Window Repair

Not many window damages require full replacement, in fact you will usually be able to find an appropriate repair solution, particularly if you contact a window repair professional where you get professional results for a very competitive price. Here are some common examples…

1. Aesthetics:

You may find that your windows appear continually stained, cloudy and dusty, even after cleaning them. This dust and condensation build up is particularly common in humid Queensland, and comes from damaged seals. Simply installing a new sash does the job.

2. Chips Cracks and Holes:

A silicone sealant is a handy purchase from your hardware store. For those little cracks and crevices that form around your windows, a sealant is the best thing to use. They will fill the gaps, and stop any air leakage and weather penetration.

3. Old Gaskets:

Gaskets that seal window sashes do not have the same overall life span as the rest of the window, whether it is made of vinyl, fibreglass, or aluminium. Whilst these types of windows can remain strong for up to 2 decades, the gaskets will not. A window supplier should be able to provide you with the correct fitting.

4. Broken Seals:

You may notice condensation and fog within your window panes. Whilst this is common, it is not necessary, and usually means that a broken seal is present. This is easily repaired by installing a new sash.

5. Dried and Cracked Putty:

Putty glazing does not need to be repaired often, but it does eventually start to dry out and crack. There’s no need to worry however, it is easily repaired by applying a new glaze.

You will find that more often than not you will be able to repair your windows; however it is important to be aware of when window replacements are necessary. Taking notice of the symptoms and signs mentioned above and measuring the extent of the damage will help you to determine what is best for your windows – repairs or replacements.

Give Your Electric Guitar A Performance Upgrade

If you happen to be a keen guitar player and treasure your particular axe of choice, you’ll no doubt at some stage have contemplated the most effective way to offer your guitar a performance upgrade. So what possibilities may be out there that won’t involve butchering the guitar and are comparatively straightforward to undertake? Needless to say, if your guitar is a costly model there is every probability that it sported top of the range components, but let us assume for the sake of this particular article, that it is a mid-price to budget model.

The most clear and audible improvement can be had in the pickup area. The materials and the production process of some stock pickups may be less than great, which is reflected by the sound. Some really great replacement humbucking pickups and single coil pickups are available from the big-name companies and additionally some smaller boutique pickup makers. Replacement pickups are generally produced with a more hands-on approach and bespoke versions are offered by several of them.

In my opinion, another early port of call are the original machine heads or tuners. Often the stock tuners are not that great and are maufactured with less good materials. If your guitar is struggling to keep in tune then this is a must (check that your pickups are not too close to the strings as the magnets can occasionally cause tuning issues). You might also just fancy the quality feel and functionality of a top of the range set of tuners. Schaller are an organization who make superb examples for the many various kinds of guitar around.

In case your guitar arrived with a plastic nut then this could also benefit massively from an upgrade. You can buy a new ready-made nut in many different materials such as brass or graphite, or if you are handy with a file you may be confident enough to cut and file a new nut out of bone. This is not the most simple upgrade and the procedure is beyond the scope of this article. Search on line for additional information on this upgrade.

The bridge and tailpiece is another area worthy of consideration. Quite often guitars come with cheaply manufactured versions from China or Korea and impressive gains can be had by utilising versions made from lightweight aluminium and other fancy materials. Again the Schaller range is worth looking at.

There are some other simple upgrades for example changing the standard strap buttons with strap locks to keep your guitar secure if standing and playing, those talked about above are the most essential.

If you really want to go all out there are companies out there who will give your guitar a complete refinish in whatever colour you would like. Not everyone’s cup of tea but if that normal sunburst finish is no longer cutting it for you, this may well be just what you need.

Best of luck!

Voltage Stabilizers – Pros and Cons of Servo Electro-Mechanical Design Based Stabilizers

For most applications Servo Electronic (AKA Electro-Mechanical) based Voltage Stabilizers & AC Power Conditioners have proved to be a very reliable and cost-efficient voltage stabilisation solution, with models readily available to accommodate an input voltage swing of in excess of 40% whilst still delivering an accuracy of 1% on the output.

Comprising a transformer having its secondary winding connected between the mains supply and the load, the primary voltage is automatically controlled through a motor driven variable transformer – ensuring a continuous, smooth and very stable output voltage.

High Voltage / Transient Spikes are normally limited by the inclusion of ‘Spike Clippers’. Such clippers typically limit transients to twice the peak voltage of the supply. However buyers should be aware that to reduce spikes to totally harmless levels it is often necessary to request that your supplier fits additional Spike Attenuation protection.

While Electronic Servo stabilisers do contain some moving parts, experience over the last 25 years in some of the most demanding power conditions has proved the design to be a very reliable method of delivering voltage regulation with only a low-level of ongoing maintenance required being deliverable by universally readily available skill sets.

The long-life expectancy, compact size and low cost of ownership makes servo electro-mechanical stabilisers economical solutions for a wide variety of applications in industry, commerce, mining, aerospace, computing and telecommunications and is normally the recommended design solution for most applications.

Advantages:

* Very competitively priced

* Fast speed of response to voltage changes – ideal for most applications

* Negligible output waveform distortion

* Not Frequency dependent

* Size and weight advantages over other methods of stabilisation

* Will attenuate voltage spikes if required

* Unaffected by load or power factor changes

* Low cost of ownership with ease of serviceability

* Endurable, with long life expectancy

Disadvantages:

* Moving parts requiring limited maintenance

* Lower speed of response compared to solid state designs

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 – Mini But Mighty

New Ideas In Digital Photography

Have you heard about the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 yet? It is so small it almost looks like a point and shoot camera, but its looks are deceptive, because it has the features of much larger digital SLR models, including interchangeable lens capability.

Panasonic has long been know for being on the cusp of new technology, and their leap into four thirds, mirror-less camera technology is a prime example of that. This model, although practically brand new, is already receiving rave reviews. The fact is that in the point and shoot arena, they are getting higher marks than some of the new Nikon and Canon offerings.

This is the third model in the Panasonic GX line, and it may be their best effort thus far, judging by the expert opinions and user satisfaction.

If you are considering an entry-level camera that can compete with digital SLRs in terms of image quality and versatility, then read on.

Actually, the G3 looks more like a point and shoot camera than a professional model. This is due to the four thirds mirror-less technology which removes the need for a mirror. Thus the camera can have all the necessary "innerds" in a much smaller space.

Panasonic G3 Performance

This newest G-model sports a 16 megapixel sensor approximately as large as one of the APS-C sensors in digital SLRs. This new sensor provides excellent image quality, much better than its predecessor. In fact the quality rivals that of very popular digital SLRs such as the Canon T3i up to ISO 800. And do not look now, but it does all this for a price tag of several hundred dollars less.

Photographers who are buying their first interchangeable lens camera will probably like the small, compact size of this camera, but if you are using to a more traditional digital SLR, you will unduly need to get comfortable with the small size and feel. The size could be a benefit for those who are small. It will save on the physical fatigue that comes from hauling a large camera around all day.

One of the best features is the LCD screen. It is a full swivel screen that makes shooting from all angles very easy. There is also a touch-screen system that allows the user to interact with the camera by touching the screen.

The touch-screen technology works with the settings and menu navigation, but it also works when in live view. The photographer can touch the point on the live view screen to focus on that particular point. It is also possible to zoom in to a spot by touching the screen. This can be helpful when shooting macro images.

Although the camera has sufficient settings to satisfy the most control hungry photographer, it is possible just to use the iA setting and not have to worry about any other selections. It is "point and shoot on steroids." But even in iA (this stands for "intelligent Auto), you have some control if you want it. You can change the aperture, shutter speed, or ISO by just sliding your finger on an area of the LCD screen.

The excitation is mounting with regard to the new cameras that are being produced. Many photographers are still heading for the traditional digital SLR selves in their camera stores, but if you are any kind of "out-of-the-box" photographer, or if new gear excites you, this could be your next best opportunity.

3 Important Things New E-Mini Traders Can Do to Succeed

The failure rate of new e-mini traders is disturbing. According to various sources, 90% of all new traders are out of the market within 3 months, their trading account balances exhausted. There can be little doubt that e-mini trading presents a challenging skill set to learn and execute, but there are a number of factors that are well within the new e-mini trader's reach that he or she can control.

In my experience, a good deal of failure centers around three important factors that directly impact every new trader's career. They are:

– System
– Communication
– Experience

There are a wide variety of trading systems out there from which traders can choose. Some of the programs are very large, some are famous. There is no correlation, in my thinking and experience, between popular systems that can run more than $ 7-10000 and broadly advertized and other systems which are based on sound trading methodology. I've already written several articles on finding a good trading system, so I will not disclose this article with that lengthy topic.

1. Learn the System-
If there is one thing I see over and over is new e-mini traders trading real money and have, at best, developed a very limited skill level with the material and system he or she has paid for their hard earned money. I do not just do not get that thinking, but it is a rare student who starts simulator trading with me one on one that has properly prepared themselves to trade by learning the basic information of the system that they are about to trade. They know some trades. They may know some of the interesting parts of a trading system, but they seldom know the details; And success in trading is in the details. The end result of this thinking is that I end up spending a good amount of time explaining how charts and bars work when trading, when we could have been working on the business of learning to trade, not wasting time trying to hammer out the lingo and Teaching the student material that is well documented in the written and video sections of a quality course. Poor preparation is industry wide, and I read in the forums about systems I know well, and can trade effectively on my own, being bashed by individuals who "just could not seem to get it" right and the concluded system is undesirable. I generally know what really happened. Do not study the material half-hearted and expect to learn the "meat and potato's" of the system in the trading room. Be over prepared.

2. Communication-
I have scads of new traders and potential traders come into the room and not ask a question, just sit and listen. The most successful traders I have mentored were individuals who were fully engaged in the trading process and when the did not understand something, or some trade, they promptly asked why I am doing this and what did I see on the chart. My preference is for small trade rooms that allow the room to interact. Again, I have written an article on this subject, but when all members of the room can speak to each other, there is a mutual learning process goes on, and their interaction, in my opinion, is often more helpful than the information I may Imp. In short, when you ask questions you let people see where you need help and may get some suggestions how to remedy this or that. Communicating creates a synergy in the room that allows everyone to learn.

3. Experience-
When a new student first starts in the trading room, they generally lack any meaningfulful e-mini trading experience. Simulators are great places to gain trading experience under the right conditions. In order for a simulator to be an effective trading tool, the new e-mini trader must trade the simulator exactly as he or she plans to trade their real money. Invariably, I notice traders trading 300 contracts on a trade, just to see how it would work. You will probably not trade 300 contracts in your life, probably not even 100 contracts; But these playful dalliances with non-reality are very damaging to the discipline and emotional control a consistently profitable e-mini trader most employ. In short, simulated trading programs are great if you trade with them exactly as you plan to trade with real money, but deviation from your specific trading mindset and methodology on the simulation is highly counterproductive.

In summary, I have stated the three most common mistakes new e-mini traders make. Some spend their money on a course, then never bother to develop some mastery of the information. Many traders sit and try to learn as "mutes," and never get the benefit of room wide interaction. And finally, it is very important to use your simulator in the proper fashion. When you are consistent on the simulator, you are ready to go to the market.

How to Stay Well

When someone I love gets a cold or flu bug … it hurts! So many medical doctors over the years have asked me not how to get well, but how to stay well. It seems there is nothing in their black bag for prevention. So if you are someone who travels frequently, easily contracts a cold if someone sneezes nearby or if you are just sick too many times per year … you need to know how to stay healthy. Here are some tips:

Look at nature, what color is most prevalent? No it is not the blue sky overhead, it is GREEN! The green plants that landscape the highest mountains and down to the ocean floors give us a clue that we need to consume large quantities of greens for protection. You see it is those green plants that continuously clean our environment from pollutants whether airborne, water, or ground sources. Green plants specifically are charged with the responsibility to provide us with oxygen while protecting our environment which in turn makes for healthy lives. So if you cringe at the site of spinach salads, romaine lettuce, snap peas, broccoli, asparagus, Swiss chard, collard greens, or kale you are really missing out on one of the earth's greatest health resources. And you know what, people in America do the silliest thing – they chop off the tops of vegetables and throw them away! What the heck are we thinking people? The tops of vegetables contain the highest amounts of nutrients. In plant chemistry we learn that nature provides a perfect balance if we adhere to the rules. For instance, a carrot is filled with beta-carotene, a form of vitamin A that is a rich source of nutrients known to protect our eyes, skin, and mucous membranes as well as being one of the most common anti-oxidants known on the Planet. Well the tops of the carrots should not be discarded because they contain huge amounts of other nutrients such as potassium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. The potassium rich carrot tops are wonderful in soups (keep the lid on) because potassium is known to help remove toxins from the bloodstream. Sodium rings nutrients in and potassium takes the waste away. Magnesium keeps your bowels moving and that will also help you to stay well.

Okay, if you will not eat your greens, I will have to give you some alternatives for healthy survival. I assure you that if you chop or shred raw veggies you can discreetly add them directly to your soups, salads or other dishes without much flavor change at all. If you would dare to visit a "health food" store; Now there is another clue, you will find some of the most magnificent products to enhance your health. In a high-quality shop you will discover that there are compressed vegetables, encapsulated veggies and even veggies in powdered form that can be added to juice to disguise the flavor. Some companies have really gotten smart and have begun making health bars that are complied with greens along with nuts, seeds, and grains; A much better substitute for a regular granola bar. Yes, compressed greens do taste like grass and yes you will probably want to barf if you chew them without you are like me and other avid preventive-crazed people on this planet. But you have not lived baby until you have downed your very first shot of wheatgrass at a wheatgrass bar!

When I was a little girl my father took us kids out to the back yard to teach us about plants; Wise man my father. He taught us about how dandelions were good for us because they helped to clean our bodies by stimulating the liver. You know, he was so right. Those herbs and plants with a bitter taste actually cause stimulate the liver. So if you are so inclined, most grocery stores even carry dandelion greens that you can add to your salads. You can lightly steam them then saute 'with extra virgin olive oil and garlic, or be brave and just add them to other lettuce mixes. Another wonderful and a bit more unusual plant is watercress; It has a slightly mustardy taste with a bit of a zip to it and is "to die for" as a complement to roasted garlic and goat cheese. So now you understand that adding greens of every kind is important and we will move on to other ways that will help you stay well.

If you push yourself too hard, travel too frequently, do not sleep, or worry a lot, it will depress your immune response and this can make you more susceptible to illness. We must rest physically, mentally and emotionally if we want to remain strong. So, know your limits and try not to push beyond them on a consistent basis. The older we get the less "wiggle" room there is for abusing our bodies. Embark on some kind of a plan that includes relaxation. Try meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, listening to soothing music on a plane when you must fly. Get out of doors as often as possible, we do need sunshine. Eating wisely is important. Everyone who eats animal proteins, like juicy steaks, chicken, lamb, veal, or pork also consumes various anti-biotics which in turn destroy the probiotics in your gut. We need those probiotic strains to remain resistant to viruses, bacteria, pathogens, and parasites. Taking a wide-spectrum probiotic blend is paramount to good health today. Also, since most people eat diets that consist of many heated foods they are not getting adequate nutrition because heating destroy many of the vitamins and mineral vitality as well as the much needed enzymes. Digestive enzymes are extremely important to good health and as we age the production of these enzymes diminishes. We will always be dependent upon exogenous enzymes to sustain health. Regarding your daily diet, it is extremely important that you never eat when you are too hot, too cold, too tired, or upset in any way because the brain sends signals to first remedy your ailment and will not generate produce enzymes during those times. That is why animals with their innate wisdom intact turn away from food when they are injured or ill. We need to take the hint. Eat simply when you are sick, like a baby. In fact baby foods for some people may work well because they are nearly masticated and easier to digest.

So my basic rule is this: eat two-thirds of live foods or lightly steamed foods daily and one third cooked. Be sure that you get enough fruits and veggies. If you had to fend for your own food daily you would be walking long distances eating more plant foods and less animal sources; Despite depending upon climate, occupation and heritage some people absolutely need meat proteins and would become sick quickly if they switched to a vegetarian diet.

Get rid of the junk food in your daily routine; No soda pop, candy, cakes if you are susceptible to illness. Cut back on coffee and sugar of every kind because it will change your chemistry quickly from alkaline to more acid. Acid chemistry tend to get sick more quickly. What does that mean? People who lead hectic lives, have many people who count on them, are angry, upset, worried, eat a lot of junk food, cooked foods, drink, smoke and burn the candle at both ends will always have more acidic chemistry and will generally Be at greater risk for catching colds and the flu. How do I know this to be true? Seventeen years of biochemical testing to find the most vibrant people around the globe. All of them knew how to balance and to create a good life from the physical to the emotional and on to the spiritual as well. You have to know what thrills you and keep that in your life.

If you feel like you are coming down with a cold real chicken soup may make you feel better faster though researchers are not sure why. I believe that really good chicken soup made from scratch will include some of the most potent plant sources of anti-viral and anti-biotics; Nature's protectors such as garlic and onions. Garlic is known to help fight bacterial and viral infections and will also help boost your memory as it contains sulfur-rich elements that drive nutrients up to the brain. Side note here: Do you know that a study conducted in Oxford, England found that men who consumed garlic at least twice per week were one-third less likely than other men to develop prostate cancer. Lab studies demonstrate that the sulfur compounds in garlic block the synthesis of carcinogens known as nitrosamines. Garlic also stimulates the synthesis of glutathione which is known to deactivate certain carcinogens and it also protects cell membranes as a powerful anti-oxidant. So eat garlic and if you are dating make sure your date eats it too. Then we have those vegetable tops I mentioned which bring in a rich source of minerals and other nutrients. The protein from the chicken will be broken down into amino acids which are the building blocks of life. So I always keep a container of homemade chicken soup in the freezer!

Another factor in staying well, believe this or not, is having a wonderful love relationship! The joyful experiences in life help to improve mood and the harmony of metabolism. It is a fact that patients with a better attitude will heal more rapidly and overcome obstacles that others may not. So when we are in love and enjoying an active sex life we signal the brain that we are still vital, we are not going to die any time soon! It is not just the act of sex that stimulates this immune signal activity but the coupling of the powerful emotion of love that will help to keep you well. When you are ill it always helps to have a loving person nearby to care for you. It is always easier to heal when you are in a nurturing and soothing environment.

Get well faster by keeping your bowels moving. If someone has ever told you that you were full of it – that is a very toxic statement. Well, it is true that when our bodies do not consistently and completely eliminate daily there is toxic residue that can actually make you sick. Include foods that stimulate this area of the body because actually, the crux of your immune response stems from the gut. We need enough fiber in our diets daily. Eating foods that are rich sources of fiber include whole grains, the outer coverings of fruits and vegetables, flax seed meal, and sand -no, not sand, I was just kidding, but wondering if you were still with me here. Soluble fibers are those that dissolve in water and form a gel. Soluble fiber is found in fruits, oats and beans. Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and rather absorbbs water which will increase the weight of feces and the speed at which water passes through the intestines and out of the body. By eating a wide variety of plant foods and whole grains you will be sure to get your daily lot. If not, you can always buy some invisible fiber even at your local drug stores today.

On top of fiber it is imperative that we have enough probiotic strains in our intestines in order to fight disease. Probiotics are those friendly bugs that are found in such foods as kefirs, yogurts and clabbered milk products. In the stores today you can find dozens of probioticly enhanced foods. I do not think eating yogart and cultured foods is enough today – so I encourage people to take supplemental probiotics and the strongest and widest spectrum available!

Now here is something else that can make everything I have just said even better. Every person you have ever known and any person you will ever meet needs enzymes! Enzymes help to promote wellness by encouraging more complete breakdown and assimilation of every nutrient from all food forms. Why do you need enzymes? Because they are the catalysts for every single metabolic process your body undertakes and we lose enzyme production by 1% per year. By the time we are in our mid-fifties we have about 1/3 of what is needed to complete digestion and take care of other processes. All of us will forever be dependent upon exogenous enzymes, or those that are found outside of the human body. That basically means that we need to eat raw fruits and vegetables frequently because cooking foods above 119 degrees will destroy all of the enzymes that help to break down our foods into micro particles. So you are not only what you eat, but you are more than what you absorb!

Many of you have asked for my secrets and beliefs about anti-aging and my personal health regime so I will give it to you in brief; By no means is this complete. To insure that I am getting more nutrients from every single bite, and protecting my immune system daily, here is what I take: A multi-strain 30 billion count probiotic blend, along with a wide-spectrum digestive enzyme formula. I take at least 2 probiotics and 9 enzymes daily and between meals to heal faster than illness or injury. I also take a food grade multi-vitamin, enough essential fatty acids from fish oil, or flax, and compressed super food greens such as spirulina, wheatgrass and barley grasses. I include soy lecithin granules for my brain because it is a rich source of choline, one of the only known nutrients to pass the blood brain barrier, along with phosphatidyl serine. I eat a wide variety of foods and am sure to include every color of the rainbow through the week. Cayenne pepper and other heat-producing foods such as horseradish are always nearby because they stimulate circulation.

I drink only purified water and add fresh lemon juice at least once per day to keep myself more alkaline. I do not consume much alcohol, but I thoroughly enjoy good wine and occasional beer or other alcoholic beverage. I do not smoke, stay away from fried foods, smoked meats, creamed foods, sugar, and pastries for the most part. I attempt to do two thirds right with my diet and know that my body will generally forgive me when I screw up. I dry brush my skin with a loofa before exercising and then bathe because it opens the pores to help detoxify the largest organ-skin. I spend at least 30 minutes a day in the sunlight and if I can not walk out of doors I am always driving with the sunroof open to get adequate Vitamin D. I do some form of exercise daily. My cabinets are literally filled with supplements and homeopathic remedies – just like the kings and queens who understand the "best medicine does not harm (is not a drug) but strengthens you from the core."

Find a good homeopathic physician, and MD who has studied homeopathy and learn about it. I have taught my family to understand the science of homepathy. And as difficult as it may be to forgive how these remedies work, it is important to learn about them. It has always been an extremely wonderful experience to watch someone recover quickly from a cold or flu or injury. Homeopathic remedies in the right hands can work marvelously to bolster your innate wisdom and immune response without risk of drug interaction. Check your local health food store for common remedies. I always choose homeopathy over any other OTC drugs first. Another important natural supplement I keep on hand, is powdered electrolytes, minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin c, potassium and zinc. You can find something called emergency c packs which include vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes all in one. This will work well to help you recover quickly; In crystallized form they are readily absorbed.

In order to be well consistently you must have enough oxygen in your blood – so please get out of doors to walk as often as possible. Also practicing deep breathing exercises or something such as yoga will benefit as well. During the day whenever you feel stressed just take a few minutes and do some deep breathing exercises and mentally inhale something you love, and exhale whatever is bothering you. This type of mental / physical exercise will help to relax you and in turn strengthen your mind / body connection – critical to true health.

My life is filled with many things that I love such as writing articles and books, composing music, volunteering, participating in sport activities, and helping others enjoy happier lives. I am sure to feed my spirit and practice meditation, walks in nature, and enjoy observing the world as a beautiful mosaic. I always challenge myself to try something new every day or at least frequently and attempt to keep fluid with life. I find that getting in a rut is painful, and stagnation or lack of circulation even in the physical body usually tears pain. So I like to engage in many different activities, have a wide variety of friends with vast interests because it keeps life spicy and interesting for me. Do not get me wrong, I am also quite capable and willing to just rest and do nothing at all when I feel pressured by life's responsibilities, or need healing time. If you find yourself ill too often or just stressed to the max you might consider considering away for a few days — the mountains or the ocean areas are good choices. The ionization is healthy, and the atmosphere soothing in many ways. Reconnect with nature and appreciate the landscapes we so often take for granted.

Beyond all of this, one of the greatest gifts and healers I have ever known- is love. Having a loving family and many wonderful loving friends has been a true blessing. Participating in things that thrill you will help keep your immune system strong and your mood up. If you are lucky enough to have a partner that you thoroughly adore, and someone who completely loves you, just as you are … now that is quite a gift and you will find that your life can be enhanced tenfold! Love for me is like a universal medicine for the soul, without it we are often sick, and sour, and quite unhappy. Share your love. With love in our hearts we can all do great things!

Be well, be happy, and love life!
