Installing Hard Wood Flooring

If you want your home or apartment to look appealing and stylish, then hard wood flooring is the best option for you. Besides looking beautiful and appealing, hard wood floors are environment friendly. They are long lasting and they do not need replacing after a few years.

Hard wood floors enhance the beauty of your home. There is a wide range of options to choose from according to your budget. Wood flooring is suitable for almost any environment and conditions.

You can install wood flooring on your own, or you can get it done by professionals. The choice is yours, but the one thing that is sure, is that in both cases, you will learn lots of things.

The installation of hard wood flooring on your own has both pros and cons. Cost effectiveness is its prominent advantage. The main expense of wood flooring is labor. But if you install the flooring yourself, then you can eliminate this cost. Besides labor expenses, there are certain other factors that need to be considered before making the final decision. These factors include:

o Are you capable of giving a professional look to the flooring?

o Can you complete installation in a specific time?

o What is the amount you will save by installing the flooring on your own?

Installation of hard wood flooring has changed with the advancement of technology. This technology has made installation of wood flooring much easier. In fact, most of the flooring suppliers ask customers about the amount of work they intend to do on their own. For instance, you can buy a pre-finished wood floor. Here the floor is not completely finished or sealed before installation. Or you can opt for finished flooring, which is all ready to install. It can be installed straight out of the box. Due to these kinds of developments, it has become a lot easier to install a hard wood floor on your own.

If you hire a professional to do the job, it will take a lot less time than you will take on your own. Also you will be pretty much sure of having excellent results. But if you find that it will cost you much more, then it is worth doing it yourself, as you will be spending only a little more time.

You will only be paying for materials, and tools or tool rental. You will not be paying for the quality and artisanship of specialized labor. Consequently, it will reduce the overall cost to be incurred on your wood floor installation. So if you think you are capable of doing this task on your own, then go ahead. Then with the money you have saved from doing it yourself, you can think of something else to buy for your home.

12 Important Safety Features On Our Cars We Don’t Think About

Well ok, this is kind of a different subject, and probably not the most obvious to some. But I’ll guarantee some of us will be a little bit more informed, folks might even feel safer when they drive to work tomorrow. Whether you’re the consumer or an automotive sales consultant, this article will list a dozen important safety features found on every car on the road. The consumer can benefit knowing what’s on today’s automobiles, just in case he/she meets the salesman who is not the most educated on their product knowledge. And lastly, sales consultants can enhance their presentations with these tasty tid-bits and increase potential commissions. So without fail, here are the main safety features found on the exterior of those cars.

#1-crumple zones-A mainstay in today’s automobiles, this is the harmonic flow of numerous body panels and brackets that absorb the energy normally associated with a crash. Parts like the hood, bumper and fenders are engineered to crumple like an accordion, therefore taking the brunt in any accidental situations.

#2-Wraparound Headlights-Just like its name implies, it’s a one piece headlight design that integrates the low beam, high beam, and turn signals. The headlights wrap around from the front or back of the car to the sides. Not only are the halogen headlights brighter and wider with the use of reflective cuts in the chamber, but folks driving along our blind spots can easily know our lane changing intentions. As a result, causing less accidents.

#3-Breakaway Motor Mounts-These mounts attach the engine to the frame of the car. They’re not noticeable, but the life saving impact is huge. In a front impact collision, they’re specifically designed to break the engine away from the frame and with the forward motion, will make the engine slide underneath the car at a 45 degree angle. Making it less likely to have an engine sitting in your lap when the crash comes to a halt.

#4-steel belted radials-It’s pretty obvious, our tires are very important safety features, it is what keeps the car on the road. Tires are built with steel fibers built right in, how do they help? Well, motorists will have the peace of mind that their tires will hold up in even the most extreme conditions. Those belts will also give these tires a longer lasting life span. Less maintenance in the long run.

#5-ventilated disc brakes-Equally important as the tires are, disc brakes stop the car. Brakes are constructed of a rotor, pads, and calipers for short. The rotors are engineered with internal vanes, to help vent out the heat. And this will help defend against fade and making it less likely to repair the brakes often.

#6-Side Impact Door Beams-Like the crumple zones, this aids in absorbing energy in a side impact collision. They are steel intrusion beams built inside the door for extra reinforcement. Every car and truck have these.

#7-Laminated Windshield-This might be important, it is the very object that keeps bugs out of our teeth, and the rain out of our hair. The windshield is made up of two pieces of tempered glass with a laminate sheet in between. This is a glass sandwich that holds together well when sharp or heavy objects smash into it. There’s no shattering or large pieces of glass flying about.

#8-Tempered Safety Glass-The other glass that gives us 360 degrees of protection is also designed with safety in mind. Automotive glass is heat tempered, so that when it breaks, it shatters into a multitude of small cubes. The small cubes won’t cut or injure the occupants.

#9-Child Safety Door Locks-As this name indicates, they are small locks in the inside door jams of the rear two doors(4 door sedan or suv only). Lock them up and the little guys in the back seat can’t unlock and pull the inside door handles while we are driving.

#10-5 mph bumpers-I would classify this as a safety item for the car itself. In the event a driver lightly hits a lightpole, grocery cart, etc. at 5mph or under, it is unlikely there will be any major structural damage. These days, the government mandated limit to follow is 2.5 mph, most automakers have the 5 mph variety.

#11-Center High Mounted Brake Light-It’s actually just a 3rd brake light mounted higher than the two main brake lights, and most autos have them. They’re main purpose is to make drivers behind the motorist aware of their braking intentions, normally cars 6-10 back can see this clearly.

#12-Safety Cage Construction-Think of a built in rollcage, it’s the main exo-skeletal feature that provides the most protection. In every accidental situation, this protects 360 degrees. We can even literally turn a car or truck upside down on its roof, the cage will support 1.5x it’s own weight. There’s nothing more important.

Hence, there is our short list of safety features, hopefully you readers have a use for this information. And maybe, this will put more awareness at just how safe our cars really are. No longer will we pinpoint safety as just airbags and alarm systems, our daily drivers have been designed as intricately as the human body. All this for making our commutes, a safer one.

Remote Viewing Techniques – Secrets of the Most Powerful Techniques

Before you begin a practice to achieve any type of success — personal, professional or spiritual, invest a little time learning about the mind and its connection to the non-physical world. After all, it's this connection to the unknown, to the invisible world of spiritual forces that will help you achieve extraordinary results in your everyday life. Remote influencing and remote viewing are very powerful tools for developing your inner power.

According to behavior scientists, has four distinct states of mental awareness: beta, alpha, theta and delta. In each of these levels of awareness, there are distinct brainwaves. Each state corresponds to different levels of mind and body control. In the first state of awareness, beta, your brainwaves oscillate the most — between 14-30 times per second. As your mind quiets down, it starts to produce slower brain wave activity, such as alpha and theta. When you relax even deeper, your mind enters the domain of delta where brainwaves oscillate between 1 and 4 times per second. Delta is the domain of mystical and magical experiences. It is the deepest level of awareness; It is the doorway to the unknown.

Delta is our greatest link to the divine, to the Creator of all things, to Universal Intelligence.

The deeper you travel into the depths of your mind, the greater will be your ability to connect to your greatest power, to your inner vision or higher self. The reason is this. The closer you get to delta, the closer you'll be to access the Creator of all things — the most powerful force there is. The subconscious mind is a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual world. It is a bridge that you will need to cross, rather than stay on, contrary to what many believe. As you cross this bridge and travel deeper within your inner world, you will access the forces that will help you achieve extraordinary results. This is true not only for remote viewing and for remote influencing, but for all powerful meditative-type practices.

There are many courses that teach people how to remote view while operating at the alpha level. While millions of people have experienced some basic levels of remote sensing (viewing) while at the alpha level, there are limits with remote viewing at this level of awareness. The problem with remote viewing in the alpha state is that you still receive a lot of information that originates from the beta level, the lowest level of mind awareness. It's similar to ordinary dreaming, when one draws information from the beta level. Perceptions from the beta level is typically filled with a lot of mind noise and can not be relied on.

The secret to the most powerful remote viewing technique lies in how far you travel into the deeper levels of your mind. Without you reach the higher levels of heightened consciousness, your mind will be subject to sensing information from the beta level, a level of mental awareness that is very limited. Remote viewing techniques that teach you how to access theta will be far more effective in teaching you remote viewing. That's because theta is the closest level to the ultimate universal mind, it's the direct doorway into delta. The delta level operates outside of time and space; It is infinity.

In short, it's when you remote view at theta and delta level that you can really remote sense the unknown and be far more effective in your remote viewing practices. To get a sample audio, visit our website.

4 Weeks to a New Garden

Starting a garden might seem like a daunting task, but tackling the work over several weekends makes the work load lighter. Here's a week-by-week plan that even novice gardeners can follow:

Week one: Determine what kind of garden you want.

Vegetables, flowers, or both? Raised beds, pots, or in-ground? There are many possibilities. Think about the location, making sure that your chosen spot has a convenient source of water and that your plants will get the light they need. For hard ground, raised beds may be an easier option. If you have thoughts of moving, pots can travel with you. Vegetables need lots of sunlight, at least six hours a day this time of year. A flower garden may need full or partial sun, or shade. If part of your yard is crushed granite or dirt, you may want to plant a wildflower garden there this year to add color. Wildflowers do well in full sun.

There are many vegetables that do well in our fall / winter / spring planting season. Beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, all lettuces, peas, radishes and spinach can all be started by seed. Flowers can be started by seed or from transplants available at nurseries. Some of my favorites are carnation, hollyhock, nasturtium, pansy, petunia, snapdragon, sweet pea, verbena and viola. Think about the full size of the plants so you do not overcrowd when planting.

Mark the borders of your garden using natural items like river rock or bricks and take a break until next weekend rolls around.

Week two: Prepare the soil.

Remove all weeds and grass by old-fashioned weeding, a herbicide, or solarization before preparing your soil for planting. (Solarization involves covering the area with clear plastic sheeting for a few weeks while the vegetation dies.)

Week three: Mulch and compost.

If planting directly into the ground, spread a six inch layer of compost, mulch, sand and topsoil on the ground. Dig down at least six inches (the depth of most shovels and shades) and mix in well. (Beds should have soil mixture at least six inches deep.) Then wet the area completely making sure the water soaks down at least 12 inches. This guarantees good drainage and deep root watering.

Week four: Plant!

Purchase your seeds or transplants at the nursery. When buying seeds, make sure they suit your garden location and that they are not passing their expiration date. When buying transplants, make sure the leaves look healthy and the root ball is loose.

Allow space for the mature plant size. Many plants, especially vegetables, need room for their 'fruit.' When planting from seed, read the seed packet for recommended spacing. To plant wildflowers from seed, mix with sand for easier scattering and then lightly rake soil over the mixture to protect them from becoming bird food.

Water well after planting, then relax.

Now it's just a matter of time.

Protect your garden as it becomes established. Keep birds, cats and other critters away from your garden by tying ribbons to sticks and placing them around the garden. For cats, consider laying down chicken wire over the top of the soil after planting. The seeds will grow up in between the holes in the wire.

Water your new garden daily at first, keeping the soil moist until until the seeds are a few inches tall. Once they are, test the soil to see how much moisture it retentions and water based on need. A soil probe, pushed one foot into the soil will help with this.

Enjoy your harvest! The flowers will look brighter and the food taste fresher as a result of your tender loving care.

Planning Your New Staircase – 8 Great Tips

Although we tend to take them for granted, stairs can have a surprisingly big impact on the look and feel of our homes. An attractive, well-designed staircase can give the whole property a lift, adding instant appeal and even increasing its resale value. Shabby stairs, on the other hand, are likely to have the opposite effect.

But how do you go about planning for a new staircase? Follow these simple steps:

1. Measure the height

Before ordering your stairs, you need to determine how much space is available. Start by finding out the floor-to-floor height. This involves measuring from the top of the finished lower floor to the top of the finished upper floor. The term ‘finished floor’, by the way, refers to the surface you walk on and includes any floor covering such as carpet or laminate. Once the staircase manufacturer has this information, they can work out how many steps are needed to create well-proportioned stairs that comply with UK building regulations.

2. Measure the width

Having established the height, you now have to find out the width. This comprises the total measurement across the strings and steps combined. (Strings, also called stringers, are structural supporting boards running along each side of the staircase.) Unless you’re designing a house from scratch, the width of the stairs will be determined by the current space available.

If you have any choice, go for the widest steps that will fit. A broad staircase is safer, easier to use and more practical, particularly in large family homes. While there is no legal minimum width in the UK, the standard figure is 860mm, so try not to make your stairs narrower than that.

3. Straight or winding?

As for the layout of the staircase, a single straight flight of stairs is the easiest and most economical option, as long as you have enough floor space. L-shaped and U-shaped stairs that twist back on themselves are widely considered to look more attractive. However, they tend to be more complicated, and therefore more costly.

To create a turn in the staircase so it can change direction, you will need winder treads or a landing – or a combination of both. A winder is a kite-shaped or triangular tread which is used to create a turn in an otherwise straight staircase.

A landing is an intermediate platform set between floor levels to join flights of stairs together. It might consist of a quarter landing (the width of a single flight of stairs) which makes a 90 degree turn in the staircase, or a half landing (the width of two flights of stairs) which creates a turn of 180 degrees, giving a U shape.

4. Treads and risers – open or closed?

The steps are made up of treads – the part that you walk on – and risers – vertical boards that form the face of each step. Risers can be open (with gaps between the treads) or closed (encased with solid boards). Open risers are particularly popular in modern homes as they increase the flow of light. However, young children and elderly residents may find them a little challenging.

Many people like to add one or two feature steps at the foot of the stairs for extra impact. Various combinations are available, including single or double D end shapes and more softly rounded bullnose steps.

5. String style

The strings, or stringers, can be closed or open. A closed – also called solid – string runs up both sides of the staircase and completely envelops the treads and risers, concealing the edge of the stairs from view. An open, or cut, string has the upper edge machined away so that the outline of the steps is visible from the side. This style is more complex to make, and therefore more expensive, than a closed string design, but is widely considered more desirable.

6. New newels?

Newel posts are upright supports that anchor the handrails, treads and strings of the staircase, forming an essential part of its structure – so don’t rip them out unless absolutely necessary. They come in a variety of designs and may consist of a single post, known as a plain newel, or a shaped piece of timber (a newel turning) attached to a separate base. If you are only revamping your stairs rather than installing new ones, you would be wise to retain the existing posts and just change the newel caps for a fresh look.

7. How many spindles?

Spindles, or balusters, are the vertical supports that connect the handrail to the rest of the balustrade. As they are such a conspicuous feature they can have a huge influence over the look and feel of a staircase, so give your selection plenty of thought. You don’t necessarily have to stick to just one style of spindle – try mixing and matching two designs for something a bit different. Glass panels are also a great way of creating a light and airy feel.

As a general rule of thumb, you need two spindles per tread, or one where there is a newel post on a landing. Most stair manufacturers will be able to help you work out how many spindles or panels are required.

8. Handrail hints

Under UK rules your staircase needs a handrail on at least one side if it is narrower than 1m, and on both sides if it is wider than this. Many people prefer to fit one anyway, for ease of use. Most handrails run between the newel posts (known as a post-to-post system), but on some stairs you can choose to have them flowing over the tops of the posts (an over-the-post system). You may also want a wall-mounted handrail, particularly if you have children.

How to Create a Brand Called You

When people ask, “What is personal branding?” all kinds of definitions can come to mind. Personal branding is not just about selling, image building or promoting yourself. That is more in the line with personal marketing. A personal brand is a combination of attributes- personal and professional- that is communicated through behavior, deed or action which influences thought-processes in the minds of others. Basically, it is how one is perceived in the world. Your personal brand is about knowing who you are, what you want, doing what you love and developing yourself on a regular basis. In today’s world, having a strong personal brand is an important asset to have and if not managed correctly, it could have long lasting repercussions on your career and in life.

So how do you create and maintain a strong personal brand? Ask yourself the following questions:

1. What aspects of your work and life do you enjoy the most?

2. What is your area of expertise and/or unique skills?

3. What are your personal attributes?

4. What aspects of your background, education or experience differentiate you from your peers?

5. How do you want to be perceived?

6. What do you value?

7. How do peers, colleagues and managers perceive you and your strengths (and weaknesses)?

Once you take time to think about and answer the above questions, you will begin to formulate your brand vision. Now this process takes time and shouldn’t be rushed. Self reflection is deep and can be scary, so approach this process in a gentle and loving way. When you do this work, it will put you one step closer to creating a brand called “You.”

The next step in creating your personal brand is the creation of a brand statement. A brand statement is a strong core statement that helps you to stand out amongst others and tells who you really are. An example would be: “As an experienced Global Brand Marketing Executive with over 10 years of experience, I have engaged in cutting-edge marketing technologies that helped global retail and entertainment companies achieve aggressive revenue growth through strategic marketing and branding campaigns. Some of the top companies I have worked with include GDC Stores, Big Studio Entertainment, New Co Apparel, and Action Mobile Entertainment, an online mobile content provider.”

You can also use parts of this brand statement to create your brand story or elevator pitch when discussing your qualifications and experience.

How do you maintain your personal brand? Well, there are lots of ways; but here are a few:

1. Be proficient enough in your field to be seen as an expert within your industry.

2. Be a resource. Answer questions, look to help others, offer your wisdom freely.

3. Be available. Get on panels and offer to give speeches at industry events.

4. Be online. Make sure you have a website and/or blog. Also social networking is a MUST: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

5. Be approachable. Enough said.

6. Be visible. Go to trade shows, conventions and networking mixers. Talk to as many industry leaders as you can, but more importantly, listen.

7. Be you. Always stay true to your personal brand. Your personal brand will be tied to the ideas you are expressing. If you are mean and nasty, you will lose credibility and your personal brand will suffer as a result.

By creating, maintaining and staying true your personal brand you will always be perceived as strong, authentic, and confident. You will also create a life that is fulfilling and attracts the type of people and opportunities that are just for you.

Paper Towels – Effect on the Environment

Paper towels seem like a brilliant invention. What’s more convenient than disposable towels that you don’t have to clean or use again? Just buy new ones and throw the old one away. What we may not think about when using paper towels are the extreme waste that they create, and what their effects on the environment truly are.

Paper towels were first invented as a way for medical facilities to prevent the spread of germs. In the beginning, these disposable products weren’t as popular as they are today, but that changed fast. Paper towels soon were used in households all over America, and the waste started piling up.

The Effects of Paper Towels

Paper towels, like any paper product, are made from trees. That means every time you use a disposable towel, you’re using the inside of a tree to wipe down your counters and surfaces. In your lifetime, you’ll probably use thousands and thousands of rolls, which will is the equivalent of an entire forest. Imagine a local forest that you’ve walked through being completely cut down just for paper towels!

It’s Not Just Trees That Are Being Consumed for Paper Towels

Paper towels use a whole lot more resources than just trees. First, the trees have to be grown to make the product. These might be grown on a farm, or more likely, they’re just cut down. This requires heavy machinery which uses fuel, and man power to get the job done. Those trees must then be transported to a facility to be cleaned and processed. The process will use more resources like oil, and especially water.

Next, the product will be transported to a packaging facility. From there, they will make their way to a warehouse to be distributed, then to the grocery store, then to your home. Imagine the amount of fuel used to transport these trees! This means the less disposable towels and paper products you use, the less trees will be cut down.

Paper Towels in Landfills

Landfills are filled with disposable paper products like diapers, napkins, printer paper, notebooks, tissues, and paper towels. There is no way to recycle or reuse disposable many disposable paper products like sanitary napkins and diapers (not to mention it isn’t sanitary!). What happens to these paper products? Eventually, paper products biodegrade. The amount of time that paper towels take to biodegrade varies, but typically it is about one year. The thicker the towel, the longer it will take to break down into the environment. Perhaps the biggest problem is that the paper isn’t the only thing in paper products, and also that we are using paper towels faster than they can biodegrade into the environment. We’re using our resources faster than we can replace them, and the waste is piling up even faster.

Chemicals in Paper Towels

Paper towels aren’t exactly just trees. To increase absorbency, they’ve been subjected to dioxins and other ingredients (the process isn’t disclosed on the roll of paper towels). They are also bleached to give them their white color. The dangers of chlorine bleach have been well documented. Infants and toddlers are especially vulnerable to the effects of chlorine bleach. To reduce their exposure to these chemicals, limit the use of paper plate and towel usage. Instead, use regular plates, cloth napkins, and products that can be washed and reused.

Why We Need Trees

Trees give us oxygen, and filter our air. Since the Industrial Age, the world has been producing emissions that have been polluting our atmosphere. Trees are one of our only hopes to help clean the air, and we’re cutting them down much faster than we can keep up with replacing them. Trees also help to filter ground soil and water, and provide much needed shade for our homes. Wildlife also depend on trees for their existence. Overuse of trees will result in the extinction of some species, will trickle up to the human species in one way or another. As we face the unwelcome prospect of climate change, it’s essential that we keep as many trees as we can to help reduce emissions and to filter the air that we breathe. The United States is the biggest user of disposable paper products, using 50% more than Europe and 500% more than Latin America. Despite the awareness of disposable paper product consumption, consumption continues to increase, which makes it even more important to spread the word about going reusable.

Packaging Waste

Like most every other product created today, disposable products are wrapped in an outer shell of plastic, increasing their overall wastefulness. The outer wrapper has no use other than to contain the product. After opening the product, it’s thrown away. It cannot be recycled. These thin plastics take thousands of years to photodegrade into the environment. Unlike biodegradable items, this means it will never truly disappear, just become smaller and smaller, and eventually work its way into our waterways and drinking water.

How to Decrease Consumption

To decrease your use of paper towels, try using a reusable towel instead. Wring out the towel and rinse it off as needed, washing the cloth in the washing machine when necessary. You’ll be amazed at how fewer times you’ll be taking out your trash simply by going reusable. It’s a great feeling to have a lighter trash load! If you live in a town that charges per bag of trash, that’s another potential savings for you. For apartment complexes and condos, this could mean stable fees and rents due to the stability of the cost of dumpsters and dumper rentals. In other words, the savings could pass to you.

The Cost Savings of Going Reusable

Going reusable isn’t just great for the environment, it’s great for your wallet. The cost savings quickly add up. The average cost of a package of paper towels is well over $1 per roll. A typical family probably uses a couple of rolls per week, maybe 3-5 even. This can really add up! That’s around $3-5 per week, and many trees per week, too. It’s hard to justify cutting down a few trees per week just to wipe down your counters, isn’t it? By going reusable, you’ll immediately realize the cost savings. As opposed to the disposable variety, reusables can be used again and again. The other benefit of going reusable is that you won’t have to lug around the towels in the grocery store. They take up a lot of room in the grocery cart and the store! Reusables take up a fraction of the space and can be stored right underneath your kitchen sink.

Bustier History

A bustier is a type of lingerie that is form-fitting and resembles a basque. It is tight, single-piece and sleeveless, that comes with cups and a flexible boning to give the wearer a more flattering silhouette. Bustiers are worn by women who would want to make their breasts appear fuller. Bustiers push up the bust by tightening around the upper midriff, pushing the breasts up and at the same time giving the waist a slimmer shape. Bustiers are best worn with low-backed dresses as substitute for push-up bra. Nowadays, they can even be worn as a camisole for outerwear, or a half-slip under top garments if midriff exposure is not intended.

The term bustier is based on the French word buste, which of course means bust. It was originally called a long line brassiere in 1950s because it is essentially a bra that extends down to the stomach area. Bustiers are said to have developed out of corset, just like basques. It is for this reason that a lot would confuse basques to be bustiers. The fashion designers during this time focused on designing long line bras that feature exaggerated smooth and bullet shaped breasts, which was achieved by stitching conically the bra cups.

Bustiers are actually shorter compared to basques. This is the primary difference between the two although they two look almost exactly the same. Both the origins of bustiers and basques can be traced to the trends that surfaced during the 1980s and 1990s.

There are so many types of bustiers available in the market today that cater to different kinds of occasion and would look good in different types of outer garment or clothes. If you are to wear a backless dress, the best type to wear is a strapless bustier. For bedroom wear, see-through bustiers are extremely popular.

Modern fashion designers also found a way to introduce bustiers in outer garments such as dresses. Here, bustiers are attached or incorporated as tops of dresses or even just an upper outerwear piece. Apparently, what used to be underwear can now be worn outside the bedroom as a fashionable outerwear too!

Modern bustiers are crafted with mesh panels as opposed to traditional boning. To connect each end, hooks and eyes, cords and ribbons are used, similar to common corsets. Almost all bustiers available in the market right now are strapless, which makes them a perfect undergarment when you are wearing low cut or even backless dresses or upper outerwear.

Plan a Date: 10 Good Tips for You

1. You obviously must start with asking the person out on a date and when you do so, don’t ask them when they are accompanied by a group of friends. This will make the process a lot harder for you, a lot more stressful for them, and it will cause a general feeling of tension that is hard to overcome.

2. Don’t try to ask someone out with a little help from your friend Jack Daniels or Jim Beam. Alcohol will not make it easier, but it will make it a lot more difficult for you to be taken seriously by the object of your affections.

3. If you are the person on the receiving end of the date in question, don’t play around or mess with the person that is asking. This will only make it tougher for them and will only generate a little bad karma for you, just don’t do it!

4. While lunches may be the most convenient spot or time for a first date, if you must go in the evening then go relatively early and don’t plan too much. It is hard enough to plan a date, but even harder when you don’t know much about the other person at all.

5. Fill your car’s CD player or radio presets with comfortable, up beat music that will get the date off to a good solid start. While it is difficult to plan a date it shouldn’t take all of the fun out of the date. Have fun even though it is tough to plan.

6. You have already gone through so much to plan a date, don’t mess it all up by being a procrastinator and leaving at the last minute. Don’t make them wait and be on time to give a good, positive initial impression of yourself.

7. Make sure that while you plan a date you are organizing all of the pertinent information for that date. Have directions if you are going somewhere unfamiliar, have their phone number if you need to call, and know when the place you are going opens and closes.

8. Ensure that your apartment, house, or car is clean and tidy and ready for company because you don’t want to make the wrong impression. This is why so many people fear the opportunity to plan a date, there are any number of things that can go wrong or appear wrong. You can only do what you can do!

9. When you go through all of the trouble to plan a date remember that it is possible that this could actually develop into something real and serious. Make sure that you are mentally prepared before you plan such a date.

10. When you plan a date make sure that you are planning something that can be conducive to the learning process for two individuals. Planning a loud concert or quiet movie and nothing more for a first date means the second date will just be another first date, which is never fun!

Simple Cooking for Survival

With threatening doom and gloom and disaster around every corner, it's probably about time you made some kind of preparation – like reading this article, that's probably enough.

So today I'm going to talk about simple cooking techniques – the kind you can use when you're stuck out in the wilderness without a gas or electric oven. For most of us who have never been to boy scouts, I think it's remarkably useful knowledge to have.

Pressure Cooker:

First off, get yourself a pressure cooker. They're basically big pans with special lids on them that lock the pressure in. Cooking time using a pressure cooking is reduced by 2/3 and by cooking in a pressure cooker the vitamins and minerals are preserved.

Stove Top Baking:

If you place a trivet into a heavy iron pan it will serve you well as a quick stove top oven. Do not use aluminum or copper based pans as they're sure to warp or break. You can also just use a heavy fry pan straight on top of the heat source (without a trivet) to bake quick bread, muffins, or cakes. Keep the heat low, and sprinkle cornmeal onto the bottom of the frypan to keep your baked goods from burning.

Solar Tea:

Ahhhh ~ even the world collapses around you, you can always make it all better with a nice cup of tea. Simply put 7 tea bags in a giant gallon jar of water, and place it in the sun. In the winter, place in the direct sunlight inside your car. Simply add lemon juice for an instant treat.

Solar Oven:

This is difficult to explain, but basically think of a cardboard box with the sides lined in foil and one side cut off. You could have a similar structure with the foil sun shade from a car, but it's basically the same idea. Place a rack at the bottom to lift a pot of the ground, and use a dark colored pot as it will absorb more. You'll be shocked at how hot it'll actually get.

Installing a Video Camera For a Cheating Spouse

It can be a tough decision when you are considering getting a video surveillance camera for your home due to the suspensions of a cheating spouse. The questions of should you get it or are you inviting someone else's privacy are at the core of the issue. Call it a sixth sense, a gut feeling or intuition, but something just does not feel right. It is a thorn in your side, and it is just nagging at your sensibilities. For your peace of mind or to salvage the relationship, a hidden camera just might be your solution once and for all.

With the progress of technology, hidden cameras have gotten smaller and smaller. They can hide perfectly in a potted plant, in a smoke detector dome, in the TV stand, or in any object in fact that would not cause any alert for suspicion. The perfect location for a hidden camera is one in which it will be bypassed as an ordinary item with no outstanding features.

There are many types of hidden video cameras to choose from. You can choose ones that you leave alone in the room to be later fetched and plugged into your computer, or you can get fancier types that allow you to view the recording by streaming it over the Internet. The choice is up to you and is dependent on your budget. You will also have to consider the length of time you wish to record and that will affect the storage capacity and battery options available. You can choose to run the video surveillance on rechargeable batteries or have it plugged into an electrical socket. By doing so, you will need to carefully consider if your secret location spot will be able to hide where you wish to put your camera in order for it to remain unseen.

By installing a hidden camera in your promise, you are finding out once and for all if your intuition of a cheating spouse is warranted. If it is not, then there is no issue and no one needs to know. Your relation will be able to move forward for the better. If your expectations do prove to be correct, it is time to find out whether or not the relationship is worth salvaging. It's your decision to fish or cut bait but at least you have the evidence you need with the help of a video surveillance camera.

Relation of Color with Child Psychology

This time I am presenting in front of you all the relation of color with child psychology.
I hope that this article would be appreciated by every reader.

Color is the bright site of childhood. Children love all types of colors and give an instant respond on it. However children's response differs from adults' reaction. If you are to communicate with children, color should become your ally. But you need to use the color language correctly. Children use limited palette, which becomes wider as they grow up.

Color is the first characteristic, which children can distinguish. All of us have heard that children perceive only black and white colors (light and darkness). Young parents often paint nursery black-and-white, buy black-and-white toys and other stuff. But in the period from six weeks to two months the situation undergoes radical changes. First children start to distinguish red color. Later they start to perceive other bright colors, and yellow among them.

Little children are attracted to bright colors. Numerous academic researches show that age children's preferences change. Many children under 10 call red (or pink) and yellow their favorite colors. But having grown above ten they start preferring blue. We consider it to be with the process of growing up and appearance of ability to perceive different hues of mood.

Color preferences are closely associated with the gender. Numerous researches show that most little girls prefer pink, lavender or violet. Little boys like black and other dark colors more than girls. The question has arisen if those favors are innate or acquired. Adults accustom little girls and boys to like certain colors choosing their clothes and toys. It's hard to give the exact answer but we are inclined to consider color preferences to be innate. It's a difficult problem to be solved in future.

Do toys manufacturers know about it? Walk about toy department – you'll see that they are well well aware of children's' color preferences and use the color to attract children's attention and sell their products, as company working for adults, they use the same strategies – color characteristics of the trade Mark, emphasizing certain features with the help of colors.

Speaking about emphasizing certain characteristics by means of colors, gender identification is only one example. If you see some product in bright colorful packaging then the manufacturer wants to affect children and means them to be the target audience. Some parents think that manufacturers too cynically play on children's feelings. But remember, how many times color has motivated children to take some positive action.

Color is the great mean to manipulate children and teenagers. This mean is used differently and it brings different results. Not only sellers and manufacturers use children's interest towards colors. You also can use it to teach, motivate and inspire new generation.

Color language and children

First let's consider how children get acquainted with colors. They learn to distinguish them long before they know the names of colors. The point out right objects, before they are able to say 'red', 'yellow' or 'green'. Children learn colors' names at the age of 2-5. Girls usually memorize colors names earlier than boys. Of course, all children develop differently, as the process of growing up is connected with the state of nervous system.

If you want to help children learn to distinguish colors, try to do so that children learn colors associating them with the subjects of correspondinging color. Here are typical associations, understandable for an average child

Yellow – bananas, lemons, sun

Red – apples, tomatoes

Blue – jeans, sky

Green – peas, grass, leaves

Gray – an elephant

Brown – a bear, tree bark

Researches show, that, for example when you show a blue apple to a child and ask him what it is, it takes him or her more time to recognize it. Sure if you happen to communicate with little children, you know what may happen. A blue apple may seem funny to them. It testifies that a child develops the sense of humor, ability to laugh at clumsy and wrong things.

Once a child learnt to recognize and name colors, it helps him or her to learn new information. Parents always want to teach children safety regulations. We discovered that highlighting certain qualities by means of color helps children to remember what is dangerous. Remember that human's eye notices combination of yellow and black, and brain automatically perceives this as a sign of danger. Use these colors to mark the things, which you do not want your children to play with. You may also mark those rooms in your house, in which your children must not go, which are dangerous – like stairs or cellar. When your children grow, you still can use colors for teaching them. Certain researchers showed that children with attention problems cope with the task better when stimulated with colors. Improvement was as significant as when using drugs. It means the color can be used in medicine.
Color can also be used in food if your child does not like to eat same boring boring food.
