Raleigh NC Apartments That Approve With Bad Credit, Broken Lease, Bankruptcy Or Criminal Background

If you are looking for an apartment to rent in Raleigh NC but you have bad credit, a prior broken lease, a bankruptcy or even a felony or misdemeanor, you may be very well be denied. This is the frustration that is facing many people who propose to look for apartment housing in the largest city in NC without good credit scores or rental history. In the last few decades, apartment complexes have tightened their qualification requirements for new tenants and are not insisting on near-perfect credit before processing an approval.

The fact that you have poor credit or a problematic rental history does not automatically mean that every single apartment in Raleigh will disapprove you; but it does mean that things will be tougher for you in way of finding an accommodating leasing manager. You may have to search harder and longer and many applicants in this category actually end up giving up. If you are in Raleigh and are looking for decent apartment units but your credit is less than flattering, here are a few places to look:

  • College Park
  • Beckana
  • Brentwood
  • Cameron Village
  • Mordecai
  • As we mentioned, if you search diligently enough, there will be an apartment or two that will be willing to work with you. These are usually termed “second-chance apartments” and they do exist throughout the city but are hard to find mainly because they do not advertise. Their lack of willingness to advertise is solely because they want to keep their reputation as safe housing communities which accept only the best quality applicants.

One way of finding these types of apartments is to utilize the Internet. The Net has plenty of search results if you are looking for apartments with bad credit in Raleigh. Again you may have to go beyond just a casual search and dig deep. Apartment locators can also be helpful especially nowadays when most of them charge nothing to help you locate an accommodating unit. They may know a place or two where the chances are high you will get approved.

Remember also that even if you do locate an apartment that agrees to work with you, there will be basic requirements to meet. One of them is that you must have a job for at least 6 months. Your income must also be 3 or more times higher than your rent and finally, you may be asked to succumb to a background check to see whether there are any serious felonies in your record.

    Interesting Facts About Log Cabins

There are many important facts that should be learned about log cabins. It would be great to know that they are environment friendly. Knowing this may help those who are not yet fully convinced to have a log home built, to finally do it. This is due to the thermal mass features of wood which often exceed the minimum code criteria of energy efficiency. Likewise, almost all the materials used by most log home producers are renewable.

There are two types of log homes, the handcrafted log homes and the milled log homes. Among log houses already built, only 10% are those built with individually handcrafted logs with the use of handheld tools. A log house, which is handcrafted is made of logs that were peeled but still have their original natural looks unchanged. On the other hand, the 90% of the log homes built are made of milled logs. These milled logs, otherwise known as machine-profiled logs, are used to build the milled log homes. These logs went through a manufacturing process that removes the natural features of the tree or the log, creating timbers that have uniform appearances and sizes.

Do you know that in 2003, which is the most recent year that much of the figures regarding log homes were truly made complete, the states that are most popular when it comes to having most log homes constructed were Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Orlando, Tennessee and West Virginia. Also in the same year, the popular states that houses the biggest numbers of log home producers or manufacturers are Colorado, Montana, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Idaho, Tennessee, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and New York. This is the states where you can go to, to find your home producer or even your home location.

Aside from Lincoln and Jackson, as mentioned above, it is said that there were 5 other U.S. Presidents born in log cabins including James Buchanan and Adlai Stevenson. This is the very reason why log cabins became a symbol of American politics’ humble beginnings. William Henry Harrison made use of log cabins, along with the “Whigs” to show to the Americans that he was a people’s man. Some of these U.S. Presidents made use of the fact that they either lived in a log cabin or worked in one to lead them to victorious presidential elections. Stevenson, in fact, after declaring that he was born in a log cabin and professed his poor beginnings, had a landslide victory over Dwight Eisenhower.

Interestingly, there is now a toy available in the market, called Lincoln Logs, which is fast becoming a favorite among the young. It is obviously named after Abraham Lincoln, who must be the most famous figurehead associated with log cabins. The toy has a variety of notched dowel rods that can be fitted together enabling its owner to construct a scale structure, only miniature-sized, of a log cabin.

Try An Exercise Program On An Elliptical Trainer to Maintain Healthy Blood Pressure Levels

High blood pressure is a heart disorder affecting 24% of the American population. It is estimated that two-thirds will have this disorder as they age. A patient that presents with hypertension will usually be prescribed one or more medications to manage this disease, but these medications can be expensive and may cause other health problems. Aerobic exercise, like the type of workout you can get on an elliptical trainer, can be an effective way to lower blood pressure to normal levels.

Hypertension is defined as resting and systolic/diastolic greater than 140/90. This health problem can cause a number of serious health problems when allowed to stay at high levels over a long period of time. The heart may increase in size, which may cause heart failure. Those with hypertension are at a higher risk of stroke and heart attack because this condition can lead to hardening of the arteries. The kidneys can be adversely affected and may even fail due to the narrowing of the blood vessels inside the kidneys.

So what kind of exercise is effective for normalizing blood pressure? In general, to achieve maximum benefits, you should gradually work up to an aerobic session lasting at least 30 to 45 minutes, at least four to five times a week. Exercising at least every other day will help you keep a regular aerobic exercise schedule. The exercise should be moderately intense, but be careful to gradually build up to this type of exercise routine if you have been inactive for the last few years. Most of the reductions in blood pressure for those with hypertension happen within the first few weeks of starting an aerobic exercise program.

An elliptical trainer is a effective fitness machine if you want to design an exercise program to maintain healthy blood pressure. It is a versatile exercise machine that allows you to tailor an exercise program to your fitness level. You can vary the strides per minute, resistance, and incline to gradually increase the intensity of your routine as your fitness improves. This is a low impact exercise that is easy on the joints, so even those with mild joint pain may be able to use an elliptical trainer to address their high blood pressure without the use of medications.

High blood pressure is a major health condition that affects almost a quarter of the American population. This condition can cause serious health problems such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure, which is why doctors are so anxious to prescribe medications to manage this condition. Regular aerobic exercise can be an effective way to lower and keep blood pressure at healthy levels without medications. A new or refurbished elliptical trainer is a versatile fitness machine that will allow the user to design an aerobic exercise routine to fit their individual needs.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Archery Compound Bows

Archery compound bows are used by both archers and hunters, these bows use a levering system, usually of cables and pulleys to bend the limbs. How are they constructed? The central riser of a compound bow is typically made up of aluminum or magnesium. A lot of risers are actually made of the aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum alloy which is a very good material. Risers are engineered to be as stern as possible. The limbs of the compound bow on the other hand are made of composite materials which can take high tensile compressive forces. The bow’s energy is stored in the limbs not in the pulleys and cables. The most common design includes a cam or wheel at the edge of each limb. The shape of the cam may somehow vary on various bow designs.

What are some of the advantages of archery compound bows? Because the bow is drawn, the draw weight tends to increase to a peak and then “lets off”. The let-off is anywhere between 65% and 80% of the peak weight. One manufacturer though produces a bow with 99% let-off. Let-off simply defines what happens as the cam rolls all the way over. This kind of let-off allows the archer to accurately shoot a bow with a much higher peak draw weight compared to using longbow. Another advantage of this type of bow is its resiliency to extreme temperatures and humidity. It provides outstanding accuracy, speed and distance as compared to bows made up of natural materials. The pulleys are designed to control the acceleration of the arrow. One unique feature of this bow is that you can easily change the draw strength and size by making small adjustments to the cams.

Are there any drawbacks in using archery compound bows? One major disadvantage that most archers complain about is that you cannot easily restring your own bow. For you to do this, you need a special clamp called a bow press. This is because of the force that is held in the string and in the limbs. It requires training to use a bow press but then again you can always seek the help of a bow specialist to have it restrung. Another weakness of the compound bow is its low holding weight makes it more sensitive to some form faults when you are on full draw.

Symptoms Of Sinus Infection – 10 Ways To Tell If You Have A Sinus Infection And Where To Go For Help

Here are the 10 most common symptoms of sinus infection. Does any of these sound like the problems you are having right now?

    1. Pain and/or pressure in the area of your eyes or forehead. Or pain in the very top of your head – especially if the pain gets more intense when you bend over or move your head quickly.
    2. Sinus drainage. This can be any color from clear to greenish-yellow or even bloody. And it may not drain out your nose. Often your sinuses will drain down the back of your throat-and you swallow it.
    3. Nausea or upset stomach-often caused by swallowing the drainage.
    4. Fatigue-Even when you should feel rested. This is the sneakiest one of all. This is the one that creeps up on you slowly and unnoticed. If you are living with the symptoms on this list you are certainly not reaching your true potential at work, family life or at rest.
    5. Blocked nasal or sinus passages. Especially at night. Are you sleeping with your mouth open because you cant breathe through your nose when you lie down?
    6. Do you have a poor sense of smell or taste? If you are staying clogged up with mucous I bet you do.
    7. Bad breath. Think about it this way-your senses of smell and taste are really messed up right now-and you can still smell and taste your bad breath. What does everybody else think about your breath right now?
    8. Ear pain. It’s not uncommon for a bad sinus infection to spread to your inner ears.
    9. Sore Throat.
    10. Chills, fever or general malaise. Are you feeling generally crappy?

If you are suffering from any of the sinus infection symptoms above you have my support. I really do know how you feel. I had chronic sinus infections for literally decades.

I had decided to just “live” with my symptoms, until they got so intense that they cost me my job-and nearly my home.

I had gotten so sick I couldn’t hold a job, or support my family. I was scared. And miserable.

It was a real-life-up-close look at losing everything. I am thankful to be healthy again.

The thing that gave me back control over my life was the knowledge that my chronic sinus infections were caused by a fungal (yeast) infection.

And in case you don’t already know-Antibiotics treat bacterial, not fungal infections. This means that even when you have just finished that course of antibiotics your Doctor gave you, the real fungal cause of your problem is as alive as ever up there in your head. And just like a bad pop singer is already planning a comeback!

The following is a direct quote from Dr David Sherris, a M.D. and Mayo Clinic researcher:

“We’ve seen significant improvement in the quality of life for the large majority of patients with chronic sinus infection who were treated with anti-fungal drugs.”

    Dr Sherris also added:

“Many of them had been miserable for years and were severely hampered at work and in social situations by their illness. Many are pain-free and able to breathe effectively through their noses for the first time in years.”

OK… Now we know that the most advanced research hospital in the world has taken the position that “the large majority” of folks who suffer from chronic sinus infections could benefit tremendously from treating the real fungal cause of our problems.

But what about the rest of us who don’t have access to the cutting edge research trials at Mayo Clinic?

We have to be a little more resourceful. And thats OK. We can find ways to help ourselves.

There are genuine, natural ways to beat a fungal sinus infection-And stop it from coming back. I know because I did it.

If you want to learn more about the book that taught me how to stop my sinus misery here is the link:

Remove, Replace and Repair Your Bath Tub Overflow

Installing a Tub Drain and Over Flow

To repair a waste and overflow, the plumbing technician needs to gain access either underneath the tub, or preferably, from behind the tub. The first step is to remove the overflow cover. Next (and here’s where it starts to get complicated), the tub drain needs to be unscrewed from the shoe. The tub drain is threaded into the drain shoe body of the waste and overflow which makes them both snug to the bathtub. The drain stopper is removed by backing it out from the cross bars that it is attached to.

If you manage to remove the drain from the shoe, you have disconnected the waste and overflow drain from the tub (quite often, the drain breaks making this a time consuming project). Once the drain is removed (you have to have access to the drain from behind the tub), there is usually a slip nut that connects the drain to the drainage piping. If you do not have access from behind, you will have to gain access from underneath the tub (this is where the project becomes difficult and time consuming) and you will have to cut the drain out and piece it back together. It is not unusual for a waste and overflow repair to take 6 hours or more.

    Bath Tub Overflow Drain Cover

The drain covers finish is the most common (and apparent) reason for changing it. The finish tends to pit or peal. The waste and overflow cover usually has a screw or two to secure the cover to the body of the waste.

When the Leak is behind the Faceplate Causing Water to Leak Down the Drain Waste Tube.

The single biggest reason a waste and overflow leaks is because the gasket behind the drain begins to break down. When the water level rises and flows into the overflow, the water will make its way to any breach in the seal. The leak can show itself right at the waste and overflow or run along the drain waste tube and under the tub only to show itself quite a distance away from the actual leak making the leak very tricky to find.

How do I Fix the Tub Gasket and Stop the Plumbing from Leaking?

Well, there are two options. One is to remove and replace the entire waste and overflow, the other is to use the magic of innovation to save you time and money.

There is an Easy and Economical Way to Repair Your Bath Tub Waste and Overflow?

The Ultimate Tub Drain Remodel Kit, featuring the Ultimate Overflow Gasket, takes care of all of these issues. The kit uses a patented gasket that fits on the outside of the tub and telescopes into the overflow tube bypassing the damaged gasket eliminating the leaks. No muss, no fuss! Typically, when the waste and overflow are damaged, do is the tub drain. The kit also includes an all brass lift and turn remodel drain which fits on top and then into your old drain (you do NOT need to attempt to unscrew the old drain and risk damage to the tub or drain assembly). Just unscrew and remove the old lift and turn assembly and/or linkage pop-up drain. Clean with a mild detergent removing any soap or build-up, dry thoroughly, apply the kits acrylic bond caulk place the drain on top of the old, press, turn and leave for 24 hours and you’re done. The entire drain remodel is done in 15 minutes.

    Not Just for Repairs

The greatest thing about this product is that it’s not just for repairs. If you are remodeling your bath or changing the finishes on your faucets you can purchase the kit in all of the currently popular finishes. You don’t have to live with a chrome or brass waste and overflow cover/drain with new brushed nickel faucets. The Ultimate Tub Drain Remodel Kit comes in a variety of finishes including chrome, brushed nickel, stainless steel and oil rubbed bronze.

Volleyball Drills You Can Do Alone

Volleyball is a team sport. It requires the effort and support of everyone on the team in order to be successful. To this end, most volleyball drills are designed for the team to work together on. However, much like any other sport out there, the more an individual can practice, the more they will bring to the team as a whole. Because most players don’t live with each other, it is important to work on a set of volleyball drills that a player can work on when alone. These are drills that can be done between practices or even in the off season. While they are generally beginning drills, they will help even advanced players stay sharp the year round.

One of the skills taught be volleyball drills is accuracy. A good solo drill you can work on is simply standing in front of a wall and hitting a certain spot on the wall. This sounds simple enough, but in practice there is much more to it than this. The player will pick a spot on the wall and aim to hit it. They will want to work on perfect form to get the most out of this drill. While a simple exercise, the wall-hitting is one of those very versatile volleyball drills that a player can do alone. They can work on spiking, serving, and even setting. Each type of hit will present the player with a set of challenges that ensure the ball travels to the spot they have chosen.

Before leaving the wall behind, your players can use the wall for other volleyball drills too. The wall-block is a very good drill that can be accomplished solo. The object of this drill is to start in a blocking position, jump and “block” the wall at a spot that is higher than the height of the net, and land in the block position again. Players should change the height and angle of the spot they hit in order to remain flexible. One of the best parts of this drill is that it teaches your players how to block a ball without causing a net foul. If your player isn’t careful performing this drill, they will scrape their arms and elbows on the wall. Since this would equate to the net in a real situation, you will find that your players learn very quickly the correct form to use when blocking. That means that they will drag their arms across the net a lot less.

Volleyball drills for passing and setting are a staple in any coach’s repertoire. Unfortunately, most drills require at least two people in order to pass the ball back and forth. A player can work on this alone, however. The player should toss the ball up in the air and bump it back up with both arms. Then they can rotate hits, switching to individual hands, setting the ball, and even using their forehead. This will teach total and complete ball control for them. The object is to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible using only legal moves to do so. Just the ball control learned from this is worth the time invested in teaching this drill.

It is important for your players, as well as coaches, to learn that they can work on some volleyball drills on their own. The more that a player drills, the better their performance will be. A team is made up of the sum of each player’s individual performance. Using solo volleyball drills will also show the team that a player feels the sport, therefore the team, is important enough to put in a little extra effort. The effort will pay off for the team as a whole when it comes to game time.

Acrow Props – Using Them Safely in Construction

There may come a time when you want to undertake a structural alteration to your home, to perhaps make better use of your living space, or maybe to make a window larger for example. Before carrying out an alteration, you will need to ensure that any part of the structure you are taking away, does not require support. If it does, then using acrow props will be required.

Acrow props are strong steel tubular like instruments that consist of a 4 part system; A male section, female section, a winding collar and a small stout pin. The way acrow props essentially work is by the female section accepting the male, allowing the 2 sections to be fully adjustable to a suitable height. The sections have holes in them so that the stout pin can be inserted to keep them fixed at your chosen height. The props can then further be adjusted by turning the winding collar.

At each end of the male and female sections will be a steel plate which is usually about 150 mm x 150 mm. The plate is there to help the acrow props find a suitable bearing on both the ground and the force to be supported.

Putting The Acrow Props To Use

There are a number of ways to use acrow props but probably the most common methods are by using them in conjunction with either timber needles or strongboys. Needles in construction are short stout timber beams, and an acrow prop would be placed towards each end, where the load being supported is in the middle. Strongboys are a more modern method where only 1 prop is needed to fix to the strongboy, which in turn would then be placed in position to support the load.

    Needles

If you need to support a wall and you have chosen to use needles, then the method would be to knock a couple of bricks through the wall large enough to put the needles through, and then at each end an acrow prop would be placed and tightened up until it is tight between the brick and ground level. This is a two man job and can be very trick to get the needles to balance whist setting them correctly in place.

    Strongboys

Using strongboys is a far easier method as it is usually only a case of hacking out a mortar joint where the load is to be supported, and then inserting the long, thin arm of the strongboy in. As with the needles method, the acrow props are them tightened up securely. The benefits of using strongboys with the acrow props however, is that the load only needs to be supported by putting the props at one side of the wall.

You will also need to check the ground that you are placing the props on to ensure it is strong enough to take the additional loads you will be placing on it. If the ground is a timber suspended floor for example, then you would need to spread the load by placing stout board/s at right angles to the floor joists. This is assuming that the floor joists are sound themselves. Where the ground level is concrete and sound, the props can be placed directly onto the concrete, however, I feel it is always good practice to use a stout board to place them on.

Supporting any load bearing structure should only be undertaken by competent persons and should never be done without the advice and guidance of a structural engineer, professional builder and the local building officer.

Alternative – Boric Acid: Nature’s Bug Control

We all have heard about the harmful effects of commercial insecticides. But if faced with cockroaches flying off the walls, those harmful effects don’t seem too harmful and we bomb our houses with it. Then before we know it, we start having headaches. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are alternate solutions from our very own Mother Nature that are cleaner, safer and work better.

This natural alternative is Boric Acid. It is considered as nature’s own home-made bug control. Boric acid is a white powder which is usually mined from California’s Mojave Desert. Although also used as a preservative and fire retardant, it is proven to eradicate almost all the annoying pests of the regular household like cockroaches, water bugs, ants, silverfish, termites and palmetto bugs and keep them away for a very long time. It also works against fire ants, bedbugs, fleas, beetles, centi- and millipedes, crickets, grasshoppers and a whole lot more. One of the best qualities of borate is that the insects don’t develop a resistance to it unlike with chemical pesticides.

Borates were first used as a pesticide in 1922 with the invention of the ‘Roach Tablet’ by P. F. Harris. In 1955, a lumber company in New Newfoundland started treating their wood with borates to control termites. It turned out that all the homes with the treated wood were free from termites and wood decay. This worked so well that by 1985 there were over 200 pesticides containing borate. This later on turned into many products seen today.

Apart from being odorless and non-staining, Boric Acid and its derivatives are inexpensive and deadly to all insects. It works by attacking the bugs’ nervous systems and then dries up their bodies afterwards. Borates, when used with chemical solvents such as propylene glycol, can be used in wood and concrete thus giving long-term protection. Boric Acid products are very safe and can be used with children around (since it has also been used in certain salves and ointments for diaper rash in babies). In addition, it also turns into eyewash when diluted properly. Borate is also used as an effective fire retardant which is used in blown type cellulose insulation which is common in houses.

In use against ants, one tablespoon of Boric Acid is mixed with one teaspoon of sugar ad four ounces of water in a bowl. This is then poured over cotton balls and placed on the path of ants. Pour repeatedly when dried out. For cockroaches, mix together 8 ounces powdered boric acid, half a cup of flour and eighth of a cup of sugar, a chopped half of a small onion and one-fourth cup cooking oil. Blend all these well while adding more oil if needed to make soft dough. Take the dough and roll it into small marble-sized balls. Place the balls in places where the roaches normally stay, like in damp dark corners. The rest of the dough should be placed in opened sandwich bags to retain softness. When the balls dry up and become hard, replace with new dough. Make sure that no pets or children come in contact with the balls because they can be very toxic.

For termites, use boric acid that is mixed with propylene glycol, which is a non-toxic version of anti-freeze. In this solution, the glycol helps the borate penetrate into the wood and thus becoming part of the wood fiber. This has proven to be very successful against termites and is also effective treatment for dry rot in wood.

SMART Board – Pros and Cons of Using a Digital, Interactive Whiteboard (In the Classroom)

We used a smart board to teach with in the computer lab at school. Essentially, a SMART board turns your digital projector / LCD Projector image into an interactive whiteboard that you can write on.

The SMART Board itself is a touch-sensitive giant screen that is connected to your computer. You use your digital projector to display your computer screen onto the SMART board and the software allows you to touch and interact with your computer.

As more and more school boards and teachers are investing in data projectors, it begs the question whether SMART Boards are a good investment. After all, an intuitive touch interface plus the ability to write on digital documents (with digital ink) would help us to move beyond blackboards, flip chart paper, and overhead projectors.

    Pros

    • With the SMART Board, you can control any application through the touch board. So instead of working from behind the computer keyboard, you (or your students) can be at the front of the classroom physically interacting with the display.
    • You can use any of the 4 colours of markers or the eraser to write in digital ink over applications, web pages, or moving video. The SMART board still works if you lose the pens. (There are 4 coloured pen holders and one eraser. When you lift the pen out of the slot, it selects the colour or the eraser. When you touch the screen, it uses the selected color or the eraser.)
    • Like other digital ink software applications, you can save your work into a notebook file, and you can convert handwriting into text.

    Cons

    • Hard to write. The biggest disappointment with the digital ink comes from the fact that a SMART Board is a front-mounted projection screen. This means that your data projector is set up in front of the screen (like an overhead projector). Which means that when you stand in between the projector and the screen, you cast a shadow on the screen… right where you are trying to write. Sure, it was cool to interact with programs by touching the screen, but, it was hard to write notes because you were constantly blocking the image.
    • Hard to write neatly. To be perfectly honest, it was a little disappointing how our handwriting turned out on the SMART Board. Better than our experiences with the other digital pens (i.e. the i-pen), but the handwriting was still large, blocky, and messy. One of the things you have to train yourself to do is to not lean up against the SMART Board. When you write on a blackboard or white board, you typically rest the edge of your palm on the board. If you do that on a touch screen, the cursor jumps to your palm and it doesn’t work out. You have to train yourself to just write using the tip of the pen. The marker worked fine if we wanted to underline or circle key ideas, but if you wanted to edit or revise a 12 point, double-spaced Word Document, you’d have a hard time getting the control required.
    • You still have to move back and forth from the keyboard to the screen. We could start up our web browser by touching the SMART board, but when it came time to enter in the website address, we had to go back to the desk to type in the URL.
    • Expensive. The Total Cost of Ownership of a SMART Board can be prohibitive for the classroom teacher. Retail cost of a 77? (195.6cm) front-projection SMART Board Interactive whiteboard is $1399 (USD) with a grant from the SMARTer Kids Foundation of Canada. (www.SmarterKids.org)
    • You need to supply your own data projector. A new, decent projector will cost around $500 – $1000. The SMART Board is just a giant touch pad. Your need to provide your own projector to display the image onto the smart board. (Software, connection cables, and stand are included.)
    • You may want to upgrade to a wireless connection ($199 USD) to eliminate the cables and the tripping hazards in the classroom. The screen image and the SMART Board touch screen may get knocked out of alignment. This means that when you try to click a button, the mouse pointer appears a few inches to the side. You’ll have to realign your hardware which would interrupt the lesson.

Spring Pest Control – Common Pests That Appear in the Spring Time

Are large black ants showing up in your kitchen or bathroom?

When the temperature waves to approximately 60 degrees, carpenter ants come out of dormancy and will forage and seek for food and nesting places. They can be seen both inside and outside of your home. They may be coming from an outside nest or may have already established a colony in the walls of your home. Carpenter ants will create tunnels in wood, causing the homeowner serious structural damage if left untreated.

Are you seeing bees in your home in early spring?

These are typically a wasp, hornet or yellow jacket queen bee, generally who have overwintered in your wall voids and attics. Once awake, they will look to lay eggs and establish new colonies. If left untreated, the bees will establish colonies and become a bigger problem.

Is there carpenter bee damage around your home?

Chances are if you had carpenter bees in the past, they have been dormant in the winter and will emerge in the spring to lay their eggs. The newly hatched eggs will emerge in late summer. This new generation will often drill new holes and nest in the same areas. A professional residential barrier is recommended for prevention.

Are small black ants around the counter tops in your kitchen, dog feeding areas, children play areas, and outside your home where mounds of dirt are pushes up from the soil?

These are signs of Pavement Ants. They are nuisance pests. Typically they are found outside in the soil but will seek out food in your home. Their colonies can be quite large and will not decrease unless treated.

Are spider webs creating a nuisance around your home?

Spiders can be found in basements, garages, porches and other sheltered areas. Spiders come out to find food and feed on other pests. Spider infestations are usually the result of other insects being present around your home. Preventative treatments of these insects will help reduce the spider problem.

For the best results dealing with spring pests, we highly recommend an Integrated Pest Management Plan or IPM Plan. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a program designed to prevent infestations and eliminate any pest problems by reversing and eliminating conditions that are conductive to pests. This approach in conjunction with a maintenance plan will keep pests under control effectively.

Professional service is highly recommended for these spring pests. Preventive treatments will give you and your family peace of mind.

How to Pick Out the Right Kart Seat For Karting

You’ve decided you either want a new kart seat, or your new and you just need one to race. There are many factors to consider when choosing.

    Seat placement

The 3 Main Advantages of Planning Ahead

Many of us are on occasion inspired to take on new and exciting opportunities, or to change something that's not working for us and focus on something more satisfying and appealing. In order for those wonderful new challenges, ideas and concepts to become reality, in order for us to live the dream we have to find a way to turn our thoughts into feasible stepping-stones to success. Planning ahead is the key to that result.

Let's look at the 3 main advantages of planning ahead:

    – It's important to take time and decide what is required for us to achieve our desired outcome. Whether it be physical travel, a personal goal or a business venture there has to be a breakdown of the various elements required to take us from where we are now to where we want to be. There has to be an action plan. What skills are required, how much time or money is essential to support it, is it a straightforward or more complicated plan, is outside help needed or available on occasion. All these factors help to identify individual stepping-stones and ensure that the plan becomes a well-considered guide to success. Once this has been asserted, realistic decisions can be taken that support our commitment to the goal and allow us to be clear as to where to start and the best way to progress.

    – Planning ahead allows interim goals to be established. This enables each stepping stone to be enjoyed and celebrated as a success in its own right. It also allows for adjustments to be made to the larger picture if and when required. New, previously unconsidered options may have arisen. Having interim goals allows the opportunity to consider whether a potential new option is viable or perhaps even more appealing than the original goal. Planning ahead provides a master plan which allows a forum to consider other options whilst not losing sight of the original, bigger picture.

    – Contingency planning is important when planning ahead. Keeping time to practice, rehearse, explore other ways of doing things is vital as a way of encouraging new ideas, creativity and innovation. Time can be allocated for the known and considered elements of the project, while giving some latitude for unexpected factors cropping up or things not going to plan. Also time should be scheduled for rest, breaks and fun. An additional benefit is that planning ahead that provides confidence in the project's viability; It starts to take shape and become more than a figment of imagination or something on our wish list. Wherever possible, anomalies have been addressed during the planning stage and a clear goal has been given definition.

Planning ahead allows us to become so familiar with what we intend to do that we are able to be confident in our chances of success. As a consequence, it allows us to tackle any issues that may arise in a calm and capable manner, knowing where to go to find solutions, dealing with any problems positively and effectively.
