Stoke-on-Trent No Win No Fee

The City of Stoke-On-Trent is well known for the ceramic industry. It is better known by the locals as “the potteries”. The history of the production of pottery dates back to the 17th century. The area was ideal because of the abundance of clay and coal. Also salt and lead were needed used for the glazing and there was plenty of this in the area. In 1769 Josiah Wedgwood built one of Britain’s first large factories which became a famous name in the world of ceramics and is still in operation today but on a smaller scale. There are many museums around the city that go into details the whole history of the ceramics industry.

There were lots of disease and illnesses in the ceramic industry and many people died due to the toxic substances that they were exposed too. Lead was one of the worst and is the most toxic to man. It was used to create colours on pottery and the painters and glaze-dippers accidentally absorbed the lead into their blood streams though their skin and through licking the tips of their paint brushes. This eventually with enough exposure would tern to lead poisoning which was known as “potters rot” in the industry. This could result in paralysis or even death.

Other illnesses potters were susceptible too were serious respiratory diseases. Silica was another dangerous mineral that the potters were exposed too. Silica is a common mineral which is made up of sand and rocks and is the main ingredient to ceramic glazes. Inhaling silica dust can cause silicosis which is a fatal lung disease and many people suffered as a result. It is one of the oldest known occupational hazards.

Workers compensation was available to those who suffered as a result and rightly so. These days we are a lot more health and safety conscious and aware of dangers that we previously were oblivious too. And if we have even the most minor accident that was not our fault we can and should try to claim compensation. This is every person’s civil and legal right.

No win no fee agreements took over from legal aid in the late 90’s and is now available for everyone who has a personal injury and wants to be compensated. The good thing about no win no fee is that solicitors will not take on a case unless they are sure they will win it.

If you have had an accident in the Stoke area and would like to find out if you are entitled to compensation then you should look for a competent solicitor with experience in personal injury. There are many solicitor firms in Stoke but the best ones are those that offer free professional advice. With the technology of the internet now, we can shop for car insurance, loans, cars and even no win no fee solicitors. So just because you live in a little town without any solicitors you can log on to the internet and find the best one suited for your particular claim. You need a company that offers free advice over the phone and can tell you exactly what your chances are

Lose Weight Naturally – How To Workout When You Travel

If you want to lose weight you have to be consistent and that means finding ways to exercise when you travel. Whether you travel for work or are going on holiday, working out will make you feel better so do not focus on it like it's a chore. If it's over a holiday, fitness is a great way to re-charge if you've been eating poorly and possibly imbibing a wee bit too much. If you travel for work, exercise can really clear your head as well as give you an energy boost, so do not put it off until you get back home. If you are looking to lose weight or just keep it off, working out while travelling is key.

The first secret is to keep it short. Working out while traveling does not have to take an hour or more, and it should not. If you are working, you likely do not have an hour or more to exercise. If you are on holiday, you do not want it to take an hour. 15 to 20 minutes will suffice. Remember, these are just workouts to keep you getting some kind of exercise in a sub-optimal situation.

The second secret is to require absolutely zero equipment. It's nice if there's a gym nearby but do not plan on it. Instead your workout should consist of body weight exercise and some kind of cardio (walking, jogging, swimming). Here's an example of working out while on the road; roll out of bed and do a set of push ups to failure. Once that's done, roll over and do a set of 30 crunches. Then do a set of 10 bridges. Finish off with a set of 20 lunges (well actually two sets, one for each side). This will not take 10 minutes, but you've just covered your whole body. Since you did it immediately as you rolled out of bed, you've got your strength training done for the day.

As for the cardio, plan to walk more. Walk to the beach, walk to work, walk to town. It does not have to be marathon distance, but all that walking will add up and if you're wondering that's how to lose weight. Little things will contribute to help you lose weight. If you have the time go for a short 1 mile run. It may not be all that far so keep a brisk pace so you really get your heart rate up and burn as many calories as you can in a short period of time.

If you are travelling for holiday, you can return to your regular workout routine when you get home, but if you travel for work this may be the only real fitness routine you can follow. The reason being is a workout routine is not just a set of random exercises, but it should be a plan for improvement. You should be tracking your progress in terms of strength and endurance. Can I lift more? Can I run faster? Can I run longer? If you chase progress in performance, progress in terms of body composition is surely to follow. If you travel for work, you will not always have a gym to go to, and the disruption in your routine will not allow you to progress in the weight room. But if concentrate on doing more push ups, chin ups, lunges etc. you can be sure to improve.

The last among these tips for losing weight is one simple dietary rule; drink lots of water. When you're traveling you can not always decide what you can eat, or you can be very limited with your options. But water is always available. It will help keep you full, help you digest food better, and flush toxins out of your body. Drink 3 litres a day.

Truthfully, it's a series of little things that decide how fit you are. Having a side salad instead of French fries, drinking water instead of pop, walking instead of always driving, doing 10 minutes of exercise here and there. Add up all these activities and they make a big difference. If you want to lose weight naturally, pay attention to the small things.

Home Decor Made Simple

Home is where the heart is and is where we often spend a great deal of our day. As such we need to find a great way that we may embellish it. Choosing furniture is simple and we frequently have it down to a science. Still, some of us have a difficult time with what items we need to put on the walls or along the small tables.

My most preferred piece of ornament to put around my house are photographs. Anyone who comes into my house can tell that I enjoy to capture every special moment and frame it. My living room has over ten various kinds of frames and innumerable pictures along the end table, hall table, and on the wall.

Take your own pictures of family members, friends, or even of your dog. If you love to take pictures than why not be inventive and take some special ones of plants or households. Be imaginative and even utilize distinct visual aspects such as black and white or sepia.

Nothing can be better than picking out some art to hang along your walls. You could go to the nearest Target and purchase some great and inexpensive pieces. You may discover a painting of Paris or of a famous celebrity. Maybe you should select something with a famous quote written on it and position it over a doorway?

Antique Plates

My grandmother loved to collect unique things. One of my favorite collections that she had was the antique plate wall art. These were gorgeous and different. She hung them along the wall in the dining room and it worked well to bring the entire theme of the room together.

It's Not Just Setting the Home Alarm – A Babysitter's Guide to Home Security

Remaining calm under pressure comes naturally to some, but for others that are more panic-prone, requires a significant amount of effort, practice, and preparation. Emergency situations are stressful enough, but when you are out of your normal environment and caring for the children of others, it is easy to become disoriented and flustered when the unexpected occurs. Being familiar with basic emergency tactics is essential, as is becoming oriented with the home, the property, the neighborhood, and anything else that can lead to a higher level of home security while you are in the house.

Chances are that if you are hired as a babysitter, you enjoy children and have their best interests in mind. Hopefully, most babysitters have undergone at least a minimal amount of training and can cope with unprecedented situations should they arise. Basic common sense requires that babysitters should not allow anyone into the home that was not invited specifically by the parents. Do not give out information over the phone – good friends who are calling will likely know immediately that you are the babysitter and that the adults in the family are not available, and will not press for more details. Keep outdoor lights on at night and double-check that the front door's deadbolt is turned, just to be extra safe. Do not leave a child unattended in the bathtub or swimming pool, or near a lighted stove or hot plate. Prevention is key to discouraging potentially dangerous scenarios.

Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, accidents happen and the caregiver may be forced to make quick decisions. The best preparation for these types of situations is to be familiar with the setup of the home, such as the locations of all of the telephones in case you should need to dial an emergency number, as well as having fire extinguishers on hand in an obvious place – in the kitchen, for example. A first aid kit with basic, easy to use materials should be available, as well.

Orient yourself with the home security system, not all of which are created equal. Learn how to signal for police and emergency dispatch in case a one-touch alert pad is an option. Practice turning the home alarm on and off a few times, and, if available, keep the remote access button in your pocket or on your keychain as you move around the house.

Possibly most important thing is making sure to place the appropriate phone calls in case of an emergency. Your employer should create a list of numbers, including their own cell phone or the contact number of where they will be, as well as a secondary contact in case they can not be reached. Police dispatch numbers associated with the home security system are also good to know, in case you may need to cancel their trip to the house due to a false alarm. The child's doctor's contact information is also handy, though in an emergency, dial 911 first.

Childcare should be a rewarding experience for both the babysitter and the child. Being well prepared is an essential aspect to ensuring that both you, the caregiver, and the child have an enjoyable, safe time together.

Midsoles – EVA Versus PU

When deciding which running shoe to buy, perhaps the most important feature of the shoe is its midsole. You can’t see the midsole (it is sandwiched between the outsole and the insole), but it is largely responsible for the cushioning your feet, knees, hips and entire body receive each time your feet hit the ground. It can also help promote foot stability and prevent conditions such as over pronation (when your foot rolls too far inward) or under pronation (when your foot does not roll inward enough), which are associated with flat feet and high arches.

Midsoles are generally made from two basic materials: EVA and PU.

EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate. It is not plastic or rubber but foam. Each midsole is made up of thousands of foam bubbles that act like cells. Each one of these foam bubbles is filled with gas. The result is a material that is lightweight and flexible. Each time you land on an EVA midsole, your shoe breathes a little. The gas is pushed out and then let back in once your foot leaves the ground.

PU is also a type of foam. It stands for polyurethane. The material is heavier than EVA and is generally less preferred by runners because of its density. That said, PU tends to hold up better than EVA. Over time, the bubbles that make EVA midsoles so light and bouncy to begin with permanently lose some of their air. PU gives less bounce in the beginning, but its bounce lasts longer.

Some midsoles are made with a combination of the two midsoles. The classic design is to put PU on the outside (where the shoe receives the most stress) and then maintain an EVA core.

In addition to the midsole, you will want to carefully examine the shoes’ other features as well. With regards to the outsole, it is normally most important to examine the quality of traction it provides. Features to look for with insoles include arch support and contoured foot beds.

A word to the wise: often Shoe companies will use special terms or “company lingo” when it comes time to advertise these straightforward terms. For example, Asic’s Speva(TM) is in fact a fancy way of saying EVA (i.e., spEVA). Most high quality running shoes favor EVA over PU, or some combination of the two. You probably will not find too many PU-only midsoles, unless you are shopping in the vintage section.

Ab Workouts – The Best Exercises For Fast Abs Without Expensive Equipment

Developing ripped abdominals is difficult for most people. There are hundreds of products on the market that promise flat, fit abs in minutes. These programs are expensive, require equipment, or simply don’t work. Luckily, there are many bodyweight exercises that can help you quickly, safely, and privately get the toned abs you’ve always wanted. These exercises are quick, safe, and easy to learn. You can do them a few times a week for fewer than 20 minutes and see great results.

The traditional abdominal exercise, the crunch or sit up, is a waste of time. Your abdominal muscles are strong and burning them out doing crunches does little to improve their appearance. In fact, crunches are consistently rated one of the least effective ways to build core (abdominal strength). Instead, I’ve made a list of simple exercises that will get your started on your ab-building journey. They are simple and safe. If, while performing any of these exercises, you feel discomfort, stop immediately. There should never be any discomfort when you work out.

Leg Lifts: Lay on the floor looking at the ceiling with your arms by your side. Place your hands underneath the small of your back. Make sure you feel comfortable. Keep your legs locked out in front of you and slowly raise them 6 – 8 inches off the floor. Hold this position for 10 seconds and lower your legs down. Repeat three to four times.

Leg Raises: Lying on the floor with your hands underneath the small of your back, again raise your legs. This time, however, do not stop and raise them until they are perpendicular to the floor. Do not let your knees bend or let your upper back come away from the floor. Lower them down slowly. Start with 3 sets of 5.

Vee Ups: Vee Ups are a difficult exercise and require practice and patience. You again begin by laying on the ground. This time, however, extend your hands above your head. Your goal is to use your abdominals to pull your legs and your upper body off the floor, leaving only your lower back touching the ground. At first, this will be difficult, so your goal should be to simply master the technique. Think about flattening your lower back against the ground and contracting your abdominals as hard as you can. Once you can accomplish this, experiment with Vee Up holds (10 seconds) or doing Vee Ups in sets of 3. This exercise is extremely effective at building abdominal (core) strength.

Planks: Even if you are unable to do a pushup, you should work hard on the plank. It is a great exercise for building physical (abdominal) mental strength. To perform a plank, get into a pushup position. For those of you who perform modified pushups, please get into a regular pushup position with only your arms and knees touching the ground. Make sure your body is aligned — keep your butt, shoulders and ankles in a solid line. Now, simply hold that position as long as you can. At first, it will be difficult so try holding for 5 seconds. Slowly build up the time you can hold this position. 30 seconds — 1 minute per round is excellent. Repeat three or four times.

These exercises will get you started on your way to a flatter, fitter stomach. Remember to allow adequate rest between sets and between exercises. There is no point rushing through each exercise and leaving your body exhausted.

While these four exercises should be used as part of a complete workout routine, they are specifically designed to maximize your time.

A routine composed of a few sets of each of these exercises should take no more than 15 minutes and can be done 3 times per week. You can do all of these exercises in the comfort of your home and, best of all, there is no expensive equipment to buy.

Lastly, utilizing nutritional supplements, such as nitric oxide and l-arginine can help your body rapidly develop and build muscle in targeted areas. Nitric oxide can help you improve your stamina and strength, in addition to widening the blood vessels allowing for more oxygen to reach your muscles allowing faster muscle growth. Any good workout routine can be aided with the help of a nitric oxide supplement.

Menu Planning 101

If you're searching for an awesome way to save time and money every month, menu planning is one of the most ideal ways for people either on a limited budget or with limited time constraints to make sure that they and their loved ones are eating nutritious meals. Following are some basic ideas on how to create a weekly menu and the benefits of doing so.

Create a Budget

One of the many ways that financially responsible families do is make a budget for monthly expenses. Just as you would calculate the cost of running a house, paying for your children's school or transportation costs, you should also decide how much money to spend on food each week or month.

Believe it or not, many shoppers do not even know exactly how much they spend on food. Additionally, many families prefer to eat out at least several times per week. If you ever tried to calculate the total of eating out 8 times per month for a family of four, it would probably scare you. By preparing a budget, you can conveniently calculate your food costs for the month or even break it down weekly, giving you an estimate on how much to spend on a weekly menu for you and your family.

Creating a Menu

Now that you have devised a budget and know exactly how much you can afford to spend for food each month, your next step should be figuring out which types of meals would be best for your family. The majority of families prefer to start out menu planning with only fresh and healthier food choices, only to find out a few weeks later that they dread eating at home and rush out to purchase fast food or to eat out at the many casual dining establishments. One thing to consider is to plan a menu that is for the most part healthy, but includes foods that each member of your family enjoys (in moderation of course). By making sure that there are foods that everyone enjoys, it will entice each member of the family to stay home for meals.

Menu planning is an excellent way for the entire family to lose weight together or to reduce certain types of foods in their diets. For instance, many families find that they could all stand to lose a few pounds; menu planning can help with the process. By creating a menu that is low in calories, fats, carbs, etc (depending on your diet of choice), you and your family can lose weight together usually increasing the success of all those involved.

For families that have a history of various types of illnesses like heart disease or diabetes, menu planning is critical to excellent, long term health. By getting into the practice of eating certain types of foods and staying away from others, you can improve your health and form strong foundations for younger children who hopefully will follow the same eating patterns as they age.

To Be Successful, Have Successful Beliefs

Beliefs Series:

  • Part 1 – Beliefs Hold the Key
  • Part 2 – Own your Beliefs!
  • Part 3 – To Be Successful, Have Successful Beliefs

As we’ve discussed, beliefs create our reality. We develop beliefs for every area of our life, yet, the most important beliefs that contribute towards our success are the ones that determine the feelings towards oneself. How you view yourself, has a direct relationship with the success you will have in the world – If you don’t believe you possess value, than there is nothing for you to share.

Successful people have successful beliefs. If you need examples for defining a successful belief, I suggest finding people you deem ‘successful’ and ask them, or read biographies from great minds you admire (sorry, mine isn’t written yet. I kid, I kid.). If you talk with some of the most successful people in the world, past or present, the most common denominator is related to the goals they set and the beliefs they hold.

The belief in yourself, your abilities, your value, and your future success is paramount.

Let’s dig in.

The Power of a Belief

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” ~ Nelson Mandela

In 1954, the commonly held belief in the world was that it was humanly impossible to run a four-minute mile. That’s until Roger Bannister came along, believing and proclaiming he’ll do the impossible. Sure enough, after many close attempts, he broke the four-minute barrier by.6 seconds! He shattered people’s beliefs by doing the impossible.

Know what happened next? A shift in belief occurred, which led to a plethora of runners conquering this once ‘impossible’ feat. Today, thousands of people have done it.

I don’t believe humans evolved at such a rapid rate in the 50s and thus allowing our muscle fibers to increase in density, enabling new increases in speed and longevity. The only factor that changed was the belief that is was possible – starting with Roger Bannister, believing in himself and not allowing a commonly held belief to hold him back.

What you think about most, what you focus on, what you believe, has a direct connection to your overall well-being, happiness, and success. Check out ‘Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Reality’ for a more detailed discussion.

Clarity is Power

Beliefs form our view on life, and nobody wants a blurry view. Our beliefs naturally guide us in the direction we most desire, and the clearer we are, the better the results. Our subconscious can be our best friend or our worst nightmare, and proper programming (via our thoughts and beliefs over time) is required. Put garbage in, get garbage out.

Developing clarity is one of the hardest things to do; we are very complex creatures and knowing oneself thoroughly is not easy. I was always the kid trying to do anything and everything because I never knew what I wanted out of this life. I would tell my dad “If I knew what I wanted to do, I would start now and be the best at it!” – I was 12 years old. Sure, I held the empowering belief I could do anything and be great at it, but unfortunately, I had no where to point this energy. My goals and aspirations were fuzzy at best.

Let’s look at a better example, from a person who knew what he wanted to do and the value he believed he was worth…

Picture the story of Canadian born Jim Carrey, rising from being a small time Comedian in Ontario, and landing on the big screens all over the world. Want to know something special about him? As crazy as he portrayed himself on screen, Jim had clarity – he knew what success meant to him and he believed he had the ability to capture it. Do you have this kind of belief in yourself? This is what he had to say:

“I wrote myself a check for ten million dollars for acting services rendered and dated it Thanksgiving 1995. I put it in my wallet and it deteriorated. And then, just before Thanksgiving 1995, I found out I was going to make ten million dollars for Dumb and Dumber. I put that check in the casket with my father because it was our dream together.” ~ Jim Carrey

He knew his value, he believed in himself, and even put a deadline on it!

Do your dreams have deadlines? Do you possess the beliefs in yourself to back them up?

Great Role Models

Did you know that Michael Jordan was dropped from his High School team? He believed in himself, he believed he could fly, and before we all knew it he was flying across the NBA courts. In his book, “I Can’t Accept Not Trying”, he says that he can accept failure, but he can’t accept not trying.

Lance Armstrong believes that winning is about heart, not just the legs. Your heart has to be in the right place. He also believes that if you are worried about falling off the bike, you’d never get on.

When Tiger Woods was a young boy, he wrote down on a 3×5 card that he was going to break all of Jack Nicklaus’ records. Look at him now. Jack Nicklaus agrees that Woods can do it if he stays on the track he’s on.

Bill Gates believes in the importance of hard work, and if you are intelligent and know how to apply your intelligence, you an achieve anything. This led him to drop out of college (scary!) to follow his passions.

Will Smith believes ‘I can create whatever I want to create,’ and ‘We are who we choose to be’. Pretty powerful beliefs no?

All these people started with a belief and moved on to greatness. They believed in themselves and it’s easily visible with everything they do. You shouldn’t have to build confidence in yourself by the accomplishments you achieve, you should achieve accomplishments by the confidence you have in yourself.

What Prevents Successful Beliefs?

Have you failed more often than not? Have you been told by people close to you, that you won’t amount to anything? What is holding you back from holding successful beliefs?

That last question may sound silly, because why would anyone hold onto beliefs that are NOT beneficial to themselves? Ludicrous! Well, this tends to be the main problem that people have, because belief formation is not dependent on a logical framework and are extremely resistant to logical thinking.

Why would a person believe they can’t do something if they have no past experience in which to base that belief? Isn’t it just as easy to believe you can do something? It sure is, but usually fear finds a way to sneak in and blind us. That is what is so great about fear – fearis usually a red flag, an indicator for opportunities to grow. If our beliefs create our reality, than in order to change our reality, we must first change our beliefs. Let’s look at how we can do that.

The Power of Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations refer to consciously programming your brain with positive thoughts. Reminding yourself of the potential you possess, the feelings you want to experience, the life you expect to have, and the life you want to live. I suggest creating your own affirmations that are personal to you in which you can easily subscribe to. Affirmations could include:

  • “I am a successful, hard working, and motivated businessman who people trust, respect and love doing business with.”
  • “I am a loving father and husband who shows love, affection, and encouragement to my wife and children.”
  • “I get excited and joyful when an opportunity arrives to help someone.”
  • “I feel energized when a challenge presents itself because it is just one more success waiting to happen.”
  • “My life is filled with an abundance of opportunities waiting to be acted upon.”
  • “My mind and body are clean and healthy and I do something everyday to ensure this.”
  • “I can do anything I set my mind to.”

The most powerful statements are the ones that start with ‘I am…’ because you are declaring your ideal image of yourself, and your brain will start aligning itself with this image as if you’ve already become that person.

Sometimes affirmations don’t feel like they fit, or we aren’t living up to the expectation of the affirmation, and that is fine. If you are new to the idea behind positive affirmations, then it may feel like you are lying or tricking yourself into believing something that isn’t true. Affirmations are not meant for lying to ourselves; their purpose is to enable the potential within us to fulfill the affirmations. Affirmations help fight the fear that holds us back from action.

Through affirmations, we consciously note the person we want to become, and we actively move in the direction naturally by programming our thoughts and beliefs. Simply thinking the affirmation does not have a positive effect until it is repeated, believed, and felt. This has the potential to be powerful. Start thinking of your subconscious brain as a programmable entity and you’ll start aligning your thoughts and beliefs to promote feelings you want to experience.

Start Having Successful Beliefs

Personally, I strongly believe that men/women should have a life filled with creating – creating ideas or inventions, creating a better world, creating value for others, and creating a fulfilled life. In doing so, you leave your unique mark on the world.

I believe if you don’t have the discipline to convert thought and beliefs into action, you are not living successfully. This belief pushes me and motivates me to produce something on a regular basis giving me feelings of accomplishment, satisfaction, and joy for fulfilling my belief. If I don’t, I feel I am not living up to my potential. I don’t even have to push myself anymore, I simply have the drive, urge, and need to create SOMETHING. This website is one outlet for this belief, and it is my attempt to create something that is timeless and challenges people’s thought patterns, beliefs, and encourages them to live the life they can.

To start having successful beliefs, we need to start by recognizing the ones that hold us back, and as we noted, beliefs are not bound by logic. How can we pinpoint these harmful beliefs? We can do this by making goals and recognizing thoughts that arise when we aim big. We can do this by looking at our previous track record and discovering why we failed or succeeded. Sometimes other people have to tell us. And many times, recognizing a negative belief is as simple as listening to yourself every time you use the words ‘I can’t…’.

Eliminate these negative beliefs and start creating beliefs that motivate you to action, push you to succeed, remind you of your purpose, and fires up your confidence. The battlefield to success is not in the world, it’s inside your head. Figure that out, and the world changes in front of you eyes.

Most of us hold ourselves back by some of the beliefs we hold, we place restrictions and limitations upon ourselves. We once believed that light not produced by the sun or fire was impossible. Thanks Edison. We once believed human flight was impossible. Thanks Orville and Wilbur Wright. Successful people hold successful beliefs, isn’t it about time everyone joined in?

Think about it:

  • What beliefs do you hold that pushes you to reach new levels of success?
  • What beliefs do you hold that limit you from reaching new levels of success?
  • Look in the mirror, how do you feel about yourself?
  • Close your eyes, what do you think about yourself?
  • Do you believe you’ll be successful?
  • How do you feel about money and it’s role in success?
  • Do you have reasons for why you are not successful? Try and debunk these.
  • Do you make a failure into a success by learning from it?
  • Are your beliefs shaped by fear and uncertainty?
  • Do you believe you can make a difference but fail to act? What belief is holding you back?
  • Dig deep and know your beliefs. You have to discover a belief you hold before you can change or upgrade it.
  • What feelings arise when I think about something I want to/plan to do? Beliefs lead to the feelings we experience, so knowing our feelings can lead to understanding our belief!

Feel free to share some of your beliefs and discoveries, we’d love to hear them!

How Can Sinus Problems Cause Ringing Ears?

Sinusitis is a swelling of the inner lining of the sinuses due to allergies, dust, and exposure to viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The sinus is located between the spaces in the bones of your face. It is the area where mucous drains into the nose. Many people often wonder why they experience tinnitus when their sinus problems flare up. Surprisingly, there’s a link between sinus and ringing ears.

If a person is suffering from sinusitis he’ll probably feel discomfort from the pressure. This can make a person feel nauseous, dizzy, and create a headache. Once the sinusitis worsens, it will end up totally blocking the airways and will eventually cause sinus-induced ringing ears.

The sinus cavity (which is positioned between both ears) functions as a dirt catcher to prevent foreign objects from entering the lungs. If it gets irritated because of the dirt that it catches, it will result in swelling and exert the pressure to the ear drums. This pressure can make the ear drum react through ear ringing.

But why does pressure start to build? The pressure is created because of the pressing of the swollen sinus cavity. Pressure can also increase as you start to blow your nose to get rid of the mucous. That very act will heighten the pressure further and can even lead to pain in your ears.

That’s not the only reason why sinuses cause ringing ears. When a person is suffering from sinusitis, his nasal pathway is blocked. When the nasal pathway is blocked the ear canal also gets blocked and causes the disruption of the flow of sound into the ears. This makes the ear concentrate on the internal noise, which creates a ringing sound. Sometimes you may even hear the blood flowing with your heart beat.

Sinus ear ringing is a very painful and tedious condition – in addition to having difficulty breathing, you also need to deal with the ringing in your ears. So what can you do if you have both sinus problems and tinnitus?

Since it is the sinusitis that causes the ear ringing, the ringing will stop if the pressure is lowered. This can be achieved by using nasal sprays, decongestants and antihistamines. These sprays will reduce the inflammation of the sinus but you need to make sure you choose the right antihistamine. Some antihistamines aggravate tinnitus so while you may have decreased the pressure, the ringing may actually get worse.

So here’s the most important message if you frequently suffer from sinus problems and tinnitus: Be aware that decongestants and antihistamines can get rid of the pressure, but there’s a chance that these medications might actually make your ear ringing worse. To completely solve the problem and alleviate your suffering, surgery may be needed. It may be the most effective solution to completely get rid of both problems.

The Many Benefits of Wall Sconce Lights on Your Home Exterior

It is a given fact that one of the many benefits of wall sconce lights is that it is great for indoor use by all homeowners. But it is a lesser known fact that this type of light fixture is also excellent for use outside of your house for outdoor illumination of your property. It can provide the mood to let you relax after a long day at the office, or to create a soft and enjoyable setting on your patio which is perfect for a romantic evening. You can also use sconce lights to illuminate your garden at night. Basically the light is provided by a bulb and the reflected light, which is facilitated by the mounting surface. There are several styles suited for outdoor illumination use which includes gold tone and wrought iron designs.

The benefits of wall sconce lights mounted outside your house are too numerous to add them all. However here are some of the more obvious ones. You can add a warm and inviting glow to the exterior of your house during the night. It also creates a comforting and relaxing facade, which will make anyone who comes by feel welcome. In addition, adding wall sconce lights would also ensure that it will be a lot safer and secure for you when you walk around outside in the evening. Those who will be calling on you at night would have an easier time walking from your gate to the door because they can see around better. This will minimize the slips and falls that usually happen on driveways at night, especially if they are wet and slippery during winter time.

One of the additional benefits of wall sconce lights is that it can also be used to give more illumination to your parking area. You can also light up your outdoor deck through a well placed wall mounted sconce. Since there are a lot of styles and designs available on the market, you can extend the particular decoration of your home to the garden and other outdoor areas. This would ensure that the exterior and interior parts of your house are complementary with each other.

Finally, using this illumination source for your home exterior makes your house much safer from any casual burglary attempt. The most burglaries happen when people are not at home and are done by those who simply want a quick buck. These people who are not the hardest of the criminals will shy away quickly from trying to break in your home when they see your home flooded in light, even if you are not at home. They might be afraid that some neighbors will see them while traversing your patio or backyard and they move on. Many homeowners have been saved by such lighting fixtures which almost double for house alarms at all times.

Firstly, land or relic detectors are used mainly on land or in the woods, playgrounds, parks, etc. They can be used at the water edge and even in the water a couple of inches, most coils are waterproof, but don’t drop your whole detector in the water, you wouldn’t want to know what would happen after that.

Key Person Insurance

Business owners seldom think twice about the need for insuring the physical assets of their business, but often overlook or struggle with the concept of insuring their key personnel. Key personnel could be defined as;
o Someone with specialised skills or knowledge in your business
o The founder or public face of the company
o The creator of unique intellectual property – software, key adviser, major account / sales person
o Someone with responsibility for a significant portion of revenue / profit

The death or disablement of a key person can affect a business in a number of ways:
o Lost profits otherwise generated by the key person
o Additional costs to secure and integrate a replacement
o Loss of contracts and customers
o Loss of market share as competitors "fill the void"
o Ability to stay solvent, potentially breaching The Company's Act
o Ongoing stress for the remaining proprietors / staff
o Loss of company value

Key Person cover is designed to inject cash into the business to provide funds to secure a replacement, replace or reduce lost profits, reassure customers and creditors that the business is financially secure and to meet contractual obligations. Without Key person cover the business may be forced to wind up or face a significant reduction in its value. Statistics tell us that;

o 1 in 5 businesses have to be wound up or cashed up if there is an event which affects a key employee.
o In a forced sale business assets realise approximately 35% of the owner's perceived value.

Debt cover may have been effected on the life of the key person by the business, once a claim has been made and debts repaid this may make funds previously used to service debt available to meet key person needs that may have arisen.

As any sole trader will be the key person in their business, their death or disability invariably means the business will not continue. In the event of premature death it would be important to ensure sufficient funds were available to compensate dependants who needed it and in the event of a disability, income protection would be important to secure a replacement cash flow.

Key person policies are normally owned by and paid for by the company. The generally accepted view for limited companies is that the premium is tax deductible and the benefit is assessable. However, if all funds are used within the tax year of receivables for deductible expenses, no tax is payable. Each company must seek advice from their tax adviser on their specific circumstances.

Lighting – Soy Candles

Before electricity, candles were mostly used for lighting. Today they are used for their light and beauty. They freshen the air; They create a special mood, their light means guidance and purity. Candles are special, magic and fascinating. Some say that candles provide natural light because they burn – and fire is a natural element. Others will say that candles provide natural light with artificial means. No matter how we look at it, candles do emanate the most beautiful light.

Once upon a time candles were used for general lighting purposes. Today they are used for interior decorations. Candlelight still stands for romance, sensuality and beauty. And the best part is that this generally inexpensive luxury evolves each day. Candle manufacturers understand that the purpose of candles goes beyond lighting and they create candles with the most mesmerizing flavors: vanilla, chocolate, lily, orange, cinnamon and so on – thousands of flavors to satisfy any taste.

From all the ancient symbols, the human race still holds dear, the candle is probably the most popular and one that will never cease to exist. In many cultures, the light of a candle has a purifying role. Smokers light up candles to neutralize the bad scents of burned tobacco and nicotine.

Lovers use candles to create a romantic atmosphere and many people use candles in the bathroom, while the bath, to enhance the mood of the room with a positive energy. Candles are also used in aromatherapy – either in the flavored form or in a non-scented form (in aromatherapy lamps) and meditation. And you certainly know how popular candles are in churches and for other religious purposes.

Lighting with candles becomes more and more popular not only due to the large selection of fragrances, but to the variety of shapes, sizes and colors as well. The materials vary as well: was, paraffin, soy to name just a few.

Soy candles are the healthiest of all. They are made of a mixture of hydrogenated soybean oils and the advantage is that they burn clean and they are nontoxic, unlike traditional paraffin candles.

Chemicals found in paraffin are toxic, carcinogenic and neuro-toxic. They may cause breathing problems, heart and circulatory conditions and may even damage the nervous system. That means, if you like candles choose the ones that least endanger your health. Any candle that generates a black smoke is a toxic candle.

It's true that soy candles are a bit more expensive, but they are worth the price when health and environmental issues are considered. Beside soy candles burn longer, are cooler (they do not generate as much heat as normal candles), distribute better flagrances and they are water soluble – meaning that their wax will not stain your fabrics or furniture. Compared to paraffin candles they produce up to 90% less soot.

Even more: they are the less likely to produce allergic reactions. Overall a healthy choice! In conclusion, if you consider candles for lighting or decorative purposes, you should also be aware of their impact on the environment and on your health.
