The following quote for Christianity Today, a buyers guide website is useful to employ, "One useful technique to separate the wheat from the chaff is to hire a prospective vendor for a small job, and then evaluate their response time, orderliness, professionalism, and quality of work. This should be a good indicator of their performance if given the large task of installing a full system. "

Deck Awnings – Manual Vs Motorized

It is a bright sunshiny day and you are thinking how nice it would be to cook out and have your family eat outside on the patio, but you decide against it because it is 95 degrees and just too hot. Aggravating, right?

It is scenarios like this that make patio and deck awnings so inviting. Now imagine that same scenario, but you extend you patio awning out (in just a matter of seconds) and because of the shade the temperature becomes much more bearable. Bring on the burgers!

Retractable awnings are not only beneficial underneath the awning itself, but they also offer benefits to the efficiency of your home cooling system. An awning blocking direct sunlight that would normally come through a window reduces heat gain by an estimated 55-65% based on a study by the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers. Talk about energy savings!

You have 2 basic options you can choose from in a new deck awning:

Manually Operated – As the name suggests, you manually use a hand crank to extend your awning open or close it back. It is a quick and easy process that takes less than a minute and can be done by anyone. There are no electronics involved so there is no need for an electrical source and nothing to burn out.

Motorized – Again, as the name suggests, the awning’s opening and closing are controlled by a motor. Obviously, you will need to have a source for electricity such as a grounded outlet, or you may need to have an electrician hook it up for you. The beauty of a motorized awning is you simply push a button and watch the awning extend or close. Depending on the brand you choose, you may even get a remote control with it, and hey… who doesn’t like a remote control?

In the end, it’s really up to you which option you choose. It’s a matter of preference, and of course budget.

Bridge of Faith

It's not strange to hear people acknowledge that they sometimes doubt and wonder whether God really exists. Kant (the philosopher) could be right when he says that all people strive for the perfect being. Therefore, humans form the perfect image and call it God. These are only human images and words and nothing more. But when we come to a standstill and look around us, we realize once again that there must be a God. There must be a greater hand behind this awesome creation. It is simply too well planned.

The world outside does not understand the things of God. People close their eyes to Him and turn away from what He does. The world makes its own plans and God never forms part of those plans. And as we walk through life, we start wondering whether they could be right and we could be wrong. Just remember that they can not see God because of the choices they made at the crossroads! Therefore, God is not part of their lives at all and it sounds quite stupid to them.

I had a chat with a professor in the gym. In the mist of our discussion his words hit me like a bucket of ice-cold water. He said: "I do not believe in God. I am not a Christian." We argue a lot, but I can see that it's not helping much. And then I realise: He needs something to help him bridge the divide between human thought and belief in God. And that is faith. Somewhere our thought and reason stops and you need faith to build a bridge to reach God. 20So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Has not God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? 21Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb-preaching, of all things! -to Bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.

For the professor the cross sounds like a fairy tale. For him, it does not make sense, and there are many people who follow his way of thinking and "believing". But where his knowledge ends God's wisdom has not even started. And that is why it does not make sense to him. He misses the whole point and why? Because he does not want to use a little faith.

We must protect ourselves against the clever people.

What must you do to keep to the right road and to keep believing? You must have a living relationship with God. We must hear God's voice and listen to it, like the believers who chose against the (stupid) clever ones: 24But to us who are personally called by God himself-both Jews and Greeks-Christ is God's ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God.

We have a responsibility of faith in God. We must put energy into our relationship with God. How do you really get to know someone? Spend time with him. Walk the roads that he walks through the world, then you will understand that person's being. Then you will understand God's plans for your life. Then you will in a way experience God's awesome power in your own life. Then you will easily run across the bridge of faith.

Try it. Take your little faith and build yourself a bridge. Spend time with God and see where He takes you. You will be speechless.

Bible reading
1 Corinthians 1: 18-25

Reflection
Do you believe in God?
Do you know God's plan for your life?
Do you experience God's power in your everyday life?
How much time do you spend with God?

Prayer
Father, I want to call out that I believe. I do not want to listen to the clever ones, because I know they are talking stupid things. But I do not always know Your plans and sometimes I do not experience Your power in my life. I know I must spend more time with You. Please help me have a daily appointment with You. Amen

Replacing a Shower Valve Assembly

You can find the entire shower valve assembly at your local big box for around $40.00. I must tell you that this is not a temperature regulating valve. It is simply the original shower valve mechanism.

Cut a hole in the wall behind the shower valve coming in from the other side of the wall.

Then here is what you do:

o turn off the water;

o cut the old pipes;

o remove the assembly;

o fit the new assembly in place; and

o solder all the necessary piping back together.

After checking for leaks, replace the drywall that you took out to get to the assembly.

An Important Note: I made sure there is sufficient support for the new shower valve. Also made sure there is extra support for the tub spout.

A very common problem is some people think this is a foot rest. For example, while shaving their legs or just relaxing in the tub. It is not for that purpose. So, reinforce accordingly.

Just a Thought: You have to admit, replacing the drywall from the rear to fit a leaky faucet is much easier than placing new tile on the wall or having to replace a fiberglass tub enclosure.

As far as the time and effort expended in this case, replacement of the valve assembly is faster and cheaper than the time you would waste trying to fix the old leaky faucet valve and it is far more reliable.

The really difficult part of this project is getting the right parts. I always carry the old parts to the big box and try to match them. Most faucets have a life expectancy of, at least, 10 years. However, vendor product lines get updated regularly.

Looking to Add a New Exercise? Try Sledgehammer Training

Sledgehammer training is not for the faint of heart. Once you read about this routine you might think I'm crazy; my neighbors probably think I'm crazy and if you listen to me your neighbors might think you're crazy too. Regardless, you will be in better shape if you try sledgehammer training.

In the effort to get fit you do not have to just rely on standard types of fitness equipment and traditional methods of training. Dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells are great, but there is other non-traditional equipment that can be used to improve your overall physical fitness level.

Which brings us to the sledgehammer; a large, heavy hammer to be wielded with both hands. While there is not much technique involved, there is the need to exercise caution. Do not go and swing away at something for 20 minutes the first time you try this kind of training. A gradual routine is important to acclimatize your body to the overall demands that sledgehammer training will put on your body.

I wish I could say I thought of this program all by my lonesome, but alas it is not true. For this I give credit to a Mr. Reinhard Engels who has come up with a simplistic yet brilliant approach to the indoor use of the sledgehammer. He has worked out a simple yet effective total body routine that can be performed indoors in a small area in about 15 minutes, with a 10-pound sledgehammer.

Completing Reinhard's "Shovelglove" routine is the prerequisite for embarking on a full-fledged, out-doors, bash-the-heck-out-of-a-tree-stump training program. Once you are ready for this program, check out my website to see a video routine.

And here's a quick note on the concept of "hardcore" as it applies to working out. Hardcore is a state of mind, in that a person is willing to deviate from convention and use all the tools and knowledge available in order to come up with an interesting, fun and effective way to train.

Hardcore is not going to a gym and struggling and straining and making loud noises in order to do curls or leg extensions or the bench press. Being big or wearing old, ripped, tattered workout clothes do not make someone hardcore. If you're hardcore, you do not train with belts, wrist wraps or spend most of your time on machines.

Do not be intimidated by the concept of hardcore, embrace it.

Once you've spent a month or two with the "Shovelglove" you can venture outside and seek out an old tree stump, log or railroad tie or score an old tire from a local auto repair shop. All you need is a 10-pound sledge, safety goggles (to prevent anything you hit from shooting into your eyes) and the willingness to work hard. This kind of training is great for every part of your body from your fingers to your toes, and especially works on your core. Core training is all the rage these days and nothing will work your core like 20 minutes swinging a sledgehammer.

The first time you head outside, after you warm up with some "Shovelglove" moves, spend only 10 minutes actually hitting something You will be generating quite a bit of force so you do not want to overdo and suffer an injury. Working on terrain, and not on a level gym floor, will force your body to move in ways that you probably are not used to, which is another reason that you do not want to do too much right off the bat.

Do yourself a favor and take your time, as the best approach is to "sledge" for about 10 minutes at a time three times per week. From here, you can add time to your sessions until you can go for about 25 minutes at the most.

You will be amazed at how sledgehammer training will improve your physical fitness. Buy a sledgehammer now.

Clearance Chandeliers

A chandelier is one of the most important lighting fixtures in the room, and if chosen wisely, it
is an investment that can greatly add to the value of your home.

To choose the right chandelier, the first step is to identify the right size. In a dining room where there is a lot of traffic, where the kids work on their project or the family gets together for evening meals, the chandeliers may well be the centerpiece. So, it is important to make a statement with the kind of fixture you choose. Go for a decent sized chandelier. A chandelier that is too small for the room will look oddly out of place. At the same time, there is such a thing as an oversized chandelier. If you select a fixture that is too big for the room, you will end up with clutter. Select a chandelier that is just the right size for your room and place it
in such a way that there is enough illumination without it interfering with your activities. High ceilings can easily accommodate two to three tiered chandeliers. Lower ceilings can accommodate smaller chandeliers.

Once you have decided on the size, it is time to select the design of your chandeliers. Choose something that matches your paint, furniture and accessories perfectly. Mismatched pieces will give your room a shabby look. Formal rooms will look stately with traditional crystal chandeliers while modern homes look good with simple pendant designs and metal finish. Other popular choices may include mission chandeliers made in bronze or antiqued finishes. If your home leans towards ethnicity, choose bold fixtures with wrought iron finishes. For the rustic look, you can select something with a woody look. In case you are still wondering what kind of style to choose for your chandelier, just go with the muted simple pendant chandelier.

Though the chandelier may be the centerpiece of your room, by no means is it supposed to be the only source of illumination for a room. Use a number of light sources to supplement the glow cast by your chandelier. Wall sconces, recessed lighting and table lamps placed at the right places will do the trick.

A Hand Axe Stored in an Axe Sheath, A Bucket and a Shovel Are Essential Tools on a Camping Trip

Is your sport enthusiast well-equipped for that highly anticipated camping trip? Some essential starter tools to take on a camping trip include a good hand axe stored in an axe sheath, bucket and a shovel. When evaluating good camping trip equipment items that can be used for more than one task are best because they reduce the equipment required to be packed. It is important that all packed items are in good and usable condition because having arrived at campsite with a broken or damaged item may mean that a camper is now ill-equipped.

A nicely sharpened hand axe can be relied upon for several tasks around the campsite. A hand axe will serve well when chopping wood and splitting kindling. Using the back end of the blade will provide a useful hammer for banging in tent pegs. With care the hand axe can also be used for carving, shaping wood as well as for chopping wood. Some advanced uses that can be accomplished with a good hand axe include using it to build a fire stand or a fire screen.

On a camping trip many find that they avoid the use of an axe in favor of a saw because they have often neglected their axe by not storing it in an axe sheath and then even worse by trying to use a blunt axe. Over time even a saw will need sharpening so it is beneficial to learn some good sharpening skills. Once one has learned how little time it takes to sharpen and maintain an axe they will appreciate how useful it is to have a hand axe as an essential tool on their camping trips. Do not forget to store the hand axe in the axe sheath when not in use as it protects the axe blade.

On a camping trip perhaps the most essential piece of equipment is a bucket and a bucket can be used for many important tasks. For instance, water can be carried from one point to another for cooking, cleaning, or drinking. Firewood can easily be gathered and carried in a bucket as well as sand or dirt used when building a fire pit. On a trip to the campground main restroom area a bucket can easily carry all the campers grooming items.

While camping, a shovel can also be used to do numerous jobs. A shovel can be used to dig a hole for a fire pit. A shovel can be used to haul rocks to be placed around the fire pit. Ashes or other material in the existing fire pit can be removed with a shovel. A shovel can be used to pack the dirt down and make an area on the ground as even as possible in preparation for placing a tent upon the ground. Waste, sewage, and garbage can be disposed or buried with a shovel so as to eliminate any odors that can linger around campsites.

Body Lifts Kits vs Suspension Lift Kits

A lift kit is a vehicle modification is used to raise the body or the suspension of a truck. You can add bigger tires if you put a lift kit on. Truck lifts like that is what allows other technologies to be created. The tires can be up to two sizes bigger than the stock.

Body lift kits and suspension lift kits are now on the market. You need to know the similarities and differences between both of them before you make a choice.

You need to look at getting a body lift kit if you're low on funds. The kit is made up of blocks and spacers. It increases the room you have so that you can put on larger tires. Some people find that they want to raise the bumper.

In contrast, the suspension lift kit increases the space between the axles and the ground. This allows you to travel better. You need a suspension lift kit if you want better articulation. It is higher priced but you will see the benefits once you get it. You will see the increased handling, higher height, and more ground clearance. Many people get a lift kit that is around four inches. They make lift kits that go up to sixteen and even eighteen inches. More accidents have occurred due to people driving a truck that's too high off of the ground. You will probably find that you're satisfied with just a four or six inch lift.

Many people who drive offroad find they do not like body lift kits. The reason is that they do not improve suspension. Also, they are not as cool as the suspension lift kits.

Your speedometer and odometer will be of if you do not get your truck re-geared. The big tires will cause them to register inaccurate numbers.

More accidents will happen when you have a high vehicle. You need to take more safety precautions if you choose to get a high lift kit.

You need to check your budget before buying a lift kit A lift kit is an optional piece of equipment. The cost of lift kits differ depending on type and model.

Stair Lifts and Residential Elevators

It can be very difficult for some people to climb the stairs safely. This is especially true of people who are sufferers of diseases like arthritis, but also those who suffer from cognitive disorders, like Alzheimer’s. In order to allow for complete access of a home, many people decide to install personal elevators, but this can quickly get pretty expensive. A stair lift is a much more affordable way to allow complete access to a home.

A stair lift is a device that is designed to carry a person up and down the stairs. For a straight staircase, there are several easy to install do-it-yourself kits available. These kits consist of a metal track, which is attached directly to the stairs, and a car, which is sent up and down the track. Usually a chair will be attached to the car, but sometimes a small platform, which is referred to as a perch, is used. Perch lifts will require that the user remain standing as they are carried up and down the track, so this option is generally only used by people who, for medical reasons, can not use a traditional chair lift.

These do-it-yourself kits can generally be installed in only a few hours, but due to the important nature of the work, it is important to carefully install the lift and follow all instructions, so it is better to take longer to install the lift then it would be to rush through it. Most dealers also have a trained installation team available, so those that do not feel comfortable doing the installation can have it professionally installed at an affordable rate.

While a personal elevator can be a nice touch, it requires a great deal of construction to the home, which can be quite expensive. The cost of the elevator is also fairly high, which is one of the main reasons a stair lift is often the best choice. A stair lift that is designed for a straight staircase is also installed much more quickly than an elevator would be. However, if you have a curved stairway, you will probably be better off installing a residential elevator.

People who have a curved staircase, might be able to install two straight stairway lifts onto the stairs, so it is a good idea to talk with a straight stair lift dealer first. Installing two stairway lifts will still save you considerable time and money when compared to a curved stairway lift, which costs at minimum 1000% more than a straight stairway lift.

If you can not install a straight staircase lift, then you might want to consider installing a personal elevator, which many times can be installed for the same price or even less than a curved stairway lift would be. Residential elevators can also usually be installed sooner than a curved staircase lift could be. Since the price of a personal elevator and a curved staircase lift is about the same, it is usually best to install a residential elevator as opposed to a curved stair lift.

A residential elevator will also retain its value and add value to the home, so much of the cost of the elevator will be retrieved when you sell your home. A curved stairway lift on the other hand does not have much value after it is sold, because it will only work on identical staircases.

For a straight stairway or an ‘L’ shaped stairway, a stair lift will be much less expensive than a personal elevator, but those that have a curved stairway, would probably be better off installing a residential elevator, because it will be about the same cost as a curved stair lift.

Reverse License Plate Search – What Is Reverse License Plate Search Or Lookup?

When you use a reverse lookup directory or service to find license plate information, this is usually referred to as reverse license plate search. It works just like a search engine except that this time your searches are based on license plate numbers instead of general queries.

A reverse license plate lookup directory is a collection of license plate numbers and associated owner details held on a searchable database. But unlike standard directories, where you use owner details, such as name and address, to retrieve the license number of the person, a reverse license plate directory allows you to search by license plate number to retrieve the owner details.

Reverse directories are often used by law enforcement, private investigators and emergency services. Some of these directories may include both publicly accessible services and private services. Most people are not aware that reverse license plate search is possible. This is the reason why most people still rely on private investigators to get license plate owner information.

Online reverse license plate search is quick and easy and anyone with an internet connection can do it. All you need is a license plate number to start with.

Here's a quick step by step guide on how to conduct a reverse license plate search:

1. Write down the license plate number that you wish to trace or investigate.

2. Visit a reverse license plate lookup directory.

3. Enter the license plate number on the search box provided and click on the search button.

4. Wait a few seconds for the system to find a match from the database. If a match is found, the owner name and address will be displayed. You can then print out or copy the information you require.

Conducting a reverse license plate search can help you find the owner of a vehicle quickly and cheaply. Other more expensive options include hiring a private investigator or using one of the large online professional private investigation services. Fees for these services can be very high though not as high as when you hire a private investigator. Using a reverse license plate lookup directory is often the cheapest and quickest option for most people.

Best Stovetop Hamburgers Recipe

I'm going to not only show you the best hamburger recipe, but I'm going to show you how to cook the best stovetop hamburger. There are a few secrets to this, and I do love to grill out in the spring and summer all the time – but you can actually cook hamburgers and cheeseburgers in your kitchen on the stove by frying them to perfection! This is how we make the best burgers indoors in the winter time!

What you will need for ingredients:

* About 3 lbs certified angus beef ground chuck (tastes and cooks best)
* About 1/3 a sweet vidalia onion diced
* About 1/3 green pepper diced
* Salt and fresh ground pepper – 1 tbsp each
* 2 tbsp fresh minced garlic (from the jar, fresh has a bit too much bite)
* 1 tbsp Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Seasoning Salt
* Kraft Mozzerella Deli Cheese Slices and American Cheese Slices
* Toppings like fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.
* Hamburger condiments

The first thing you need to do is put your ground beef in a large mixing bowl with the garlic, salt, pepper, Magic Seasoning, and diced onion and green pepper. Mix well. Make patties, we make 1/2 lb burgers so 3 lbs of ground chuck yields 6 burgers. You CAN make burgers this thick on the stove in 10-12 minutes and THEY WILL NOT be PINK in the middle AT ALL!

Next turn up the heat on your burner to high and set the timer on your stove for about 6 minutes. You are not going to flip or press or do anything to these burgers for the entire 6 minutes. Find the tightest fitting lid you can find and keep this pan covered (do not peek) the entire 6 minutes. When your timer goes off you're going to take the lid off and set it in the sink (it's very hot and wet underneath and you do not want that dripping all over your stove).

Flip the hamburgers in the pan with your spatula being careful not to splatter the grease on yourself. Like the picture, you may notice one or two of them darker than the others, and that is where the hotspots are on your burner. Rotate the pan 180 degrees if needed to cook the rest of the way. Once they are flipped, put the cover back on your pan and set your timer to 6 minutes again – but this time turn the heat down to med-high. You are not going to turn these burgers again until they timer goes off – and you will not remove the lid.

The reason that these burgers are so juicy is because they are only turned one time. The reason they cook so well leaving no pink in the middle is the way they cook with the lid on – it's like steaming vegetables and cooks them through and through. You cook them on high the first half because they are raw, and turn the heat down when they are flipped because they are 2/3 done. When the final 6 minutes is over, take off the lid and turn down the heat to low. Then quickly put one slice of mozzerella on each burger, and then one slice of American on top of that. Put the lid on and cook 60 seconds, then take the lid off and turn the heat off – you burgers should look like this picture!

Then all you have to do is put your burgers on a bun and top them with what you like and you're good to go! I personally like lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard and ketchup! These burgers are very tasty, very good – and just like the huge bistro burgers you would get at any one of the best restaurants!

It is made from a non stick material that allows the pot to heat relatively quickly and evenly as well. Users report that it is good quality and easy to clean. Most modern pressure cookers will have safety features that will not allow you to unlock the lid if it is under pressure, the Russell Hobbs includes that as well as a two redundant safety valves. The price point for the 8 quart model is roughly two hundred dollars and based on consumer reviews, it is worth every penny. Although most people usually opt out of electric models, the Hobbs system is the exception to the rule. The only negative was the lack of accessories and some consumer frustration with depressurizing.

Fagor Classic Pressure Cooker: The Fagor classic is a stove top model made from stainless steel. It has a thich gauge stainless steel construction with a thick aluminum bottom. The aluminum bottom is called a thermal diffuser plate that allows for even heat distribution. There is a heavy gasket cover as well as a safety valve that releases pressured downward if the steam vent becomes clogged. The jiggler valve is very unique as it helps to regulate and control that internal pressure. It is easy to clean and the manual features a lot of recipes. You can find this classic cooker in 4,6,8 and ten quart sizes. The Fagor model does exactly what you want it to do – cook great meals. If you're looking for something with a ton of bells and whistles, Fagor is not for you. The only negative for some consumers was the price tag – one of these cookers will run you nearly two hundred dollars. However, with proper care and maintenance, it may be the only pressure cooker that you ever need.

Mirro Pressure Cooker: The popular Mirro 8 qt pressure cooker is a full aluminum stove top cooker, and while it's price point makes it very popular (you can purchase it for under $ 50) it has received mixed reviews from consumers. According to reviews, the construction of the product makes it difficult to clamp down the lid. Others report that it is easy to use and they enjoy it's simplistic functionality. Mirro products are generally good, but this particular model may be more on the average size.

Pressure cookers can really be a lifesaver for the busy family, they will also help save you a ton of money.
