What is Isokinetic Hand Railing?

In Isokinetic hand railing, there are handrails that contain several nodes that are located continually along a line where the hand is gripped. The purpose of these nodes is to avoid the slipping of the hand mainly. Hence, with Isokinetic handrails, the chance of one's handgrip sliding is very low. This makes these kinds of handrails very safe and reliable, especially with people who have some disability associated with the hands or fingers and have difficulty gripping and holding on to things.

The nodes on an Isokinetic handrail are spaced continuously along the axis of the rail. This is done at approximate spaces and contributes to the reduction of muscle torque and muscle strain, which prevents the fingers from sliding from the rail. In this way, the balance of a person is well sustained and the climbing of the stairs becomes a lot easier than it tends to be.

Isokinetic hand railing is done keeping the needs and requirements of disabled people in view. This is important because there are many people who fall of stairs because they lose their balance due to one reason or another. It is not necessary that only a disabled person may have balance problems. Hence, Isokinetic handrails can come in handy for anyone.

Isokinetic handrails tend to save people from getting hurt due to a fall from the stairs. Isokinetic hand railing has been there for decades and has been improving over the years with advancing technology and methods. Hence, the application of Isokinetic engineering is very useful in this instance and helps many people who lack the physical strength to climb the stairs safely.

Isokinetic handrails are very safe and good because there is proper space to place the hand while climbing the stairs and the formation of the rail is such that it assists the person in maintaining a good grip. While a wrought iron or metal handrail can be sometimes be slippery, Isokinetic hand railing ensures that such a thing does not happen and no one falls off the stairs due to a slip.

When we consider the role of handrails in architecture, the basic purpose of these is to avoid the hazardous conditions of people falling off stairs. This makes Isokinetic handrails the very embodiment of the right kind of handrails because they fulfil the purpose in every way, keeping people safe from hazardous conditions while climbing the stairs.

With Isokinetic hand railing, a person has to maintain the minimum amount of force and effort to maintain balance on the stairs because the nodes on the handrail fill the purpose of maintaining the right kind of grip on the rail. The fact that the nodes are present in continuation is to prevent muscle fatigue to the maximum. The continuous placement of the nodes makes the muscle strength to be applied towards the resistance force, which comes in handy to resist a fall off the stairs.

Isokinetic hand railing is done on metallic as well as metallic handrails and one can choose the material according to one's tastes and preferences to match the interiors.

Quick Tips on Installing Iron Balusters

If you are a sucker for the modern minimalist look, then iron balusters are just the thing for you. These offer you durability aside from its visual appeal. You simply can not go wrong with these since iron is known for its versatility. Convinced? Here are some quick tips on how to install your iron balusters:

First off, what is a baluster? Technically, these are the vertical posts that attach the stair rail to the base of the stairs. They come in various designs and are made out of all sorts of materials. One of which is iron. They are the most visible part of the staircase, although it is the stair treads which consist around 60% of the entire structure.

Iron balusters are now fast becoming a favorite among homeowners who want to inject a dose of modernism and minimalism into their interiors. Compared to wood, these last much longer and are more versatile. Iron balusters are also widely used in condos, apartments, country and urban homes, offices, schools, and other establishments.

A quick tip to remember when choosing a baluster is to stay away from those that basically rely on a few screws to anchor them in place. These obviously give less stability and are potentially dangerous. Quality is also a main contributing factor, so be sure to get them only from the reliable sources.

Before marching off to buy some iron, plan first the lay-out. This will help you determine how many balusters you will need. Do not forget to estimate the space between the balusters, it should be enough to not let anyone fall through while not looking overcrowded at the same time. Using a drill during the actual installation process will help finish things up at a faster pace. There are also others which will only need epoxy to install. If you pick such balusters, make sure that you are purchasing a high grade epoxy which your trusted stair builder also recommends.

Installing iron balusters into your stairs is not exactly rocket science. Just like always, accuracy in following instructions is the key when it comes to installing them successfully. Lastly, do not forget that knowledge can go a long way. This is why you should also invest in a lot of time for research whenever you want to install your balusters and make your staircase look like the best it can be.

Various Designs of Modern Railings

If you are looking to create the perfect modern look for your home and garden, modern style railings may be the answer. Railings make all homes look welcoming, they add a little bit of style and they also add value to your home. So just what certifies as a modern railing then?

Modern Railings and the Various Different Styles Available

Modern railings come in a variety of different styles and designs and usually the best materials for them are wood. Iron railings can also be used, especially stainless steel or cast iron, but usually wooden railings are the best ones to go for. Another material you may wish to consider is glass. Glass railings are more unusual and many shopping centers use them, but it is possible to create a modern look with a glass material within the home and garden.

Generally when you think about the style of the railings, you will need to consider your lifestyle. Do you have a lavish lifestyle or a simple lifestyle? If you live fairly simply and you do not have many possessions, it would look a little silly to have railings which look sophisticated and imposing. So, find a style to suit your personality and lifestyle and that will create the best modern look for you and your home.

Wrought Iron is more associated with older, more contemporary looks but it can also be used in certain circumstances to make the home and garden look a little bit more modern. Railing designs vary with each different material used, but wrought iron does have some modern designs to choose from. Generally though, cast iron or stainless steel is the best material to opt for if you want a modern look.

Overall when creating the right modern railings for your home you have to take into account railing designs, the measurements of the area you want to place the railings, and your lifestyle. The material does make a difference so think carefully before deciding upon the right one for the railings. Also where the railings are being placed will have a significant bearing on how they will look. All of these points need to be considered before rushing out and making a decision.

8 New Places to Have Sex at Home Besides the Bed

It’s time to be adventurous! You need marriage help because your relationship with your spouse is falling apart. The root of your problem: sex. It’s either there’s too little sex or it’s not as good as it were before. But don’t worry, your dilemma may not be as serious as you think. Remember how you regained your inspiration for work – or even life – with a simple change of scenery? That could work wonders for your sex life, too!

Porch Swing

It’s going to be physically demanding but yes, it is possible to have sex on the porch swing. The two of you could be seated on the swing or one of you could be standing – it’s your choice, really. Of course, the thrill of being caught just adds to the excitement of it all.

Unfinished Room

Is there any room in the house that’s currently being remodeled or renovated? If so, that’s yet another perfect new setting for some hot and wild sex. You could do it on the floor – just make sure you don’t end up literally lying on a bed of nails – or with your wife’s back against the wall. It’s all about finding the perfect spot and then letting your imagination free. Also, you can think of this as a new way of christening the most recent addition to your home.

The Rooftop

Who cares if you don’t have a penthouse? The roof would do just as well in giving you a great view of the moon and the stars. After enough moments of romantic and cozy cuddling, it’s time to get busy. Since you’re way above most people’s lines of sight, it’s comparatively safe to take all your clothes off. There’s still a risk of getting caught, but again, that’s just going to make the sex even better. Also, having late night winds caress your skin would only serve to enhance your foreplay.

Living Room Table

Most people have probably tried making love on the kitchen counter already because that’s always something you see on TV or books but have you ever tried making love on top of the center table of your living room? Give it a try and you’ll realize that this particular setting creates its own kind of forbidden thrill. Just make sure there are no fragile or breakable décor in the area. They could be at grave risk when you start screaming and thrashing in pleasure.

This could be a bit more difficult to achieve if you’ve got a small center table but don’t let that stop you!

The Banister

Again, many fictional works feature couples – regardless of whether they’re married or not – having sex on the stairs. The End of the Affair – a movie featuring Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore – has a particularly good love scene with that kind of setting. Intercourse didn’t exactly take place, but surely you’ll know how to get from Point A to Point Z, right?

But here’s a thought. Since this is all about broadening your sexual horizons as a couple, why not taking the making-love-on-the-staircase to the next level by hoisting your wife on the banister and making love there? Needless to say, it’s best not to take a risk by starting at the very top of the staircase. The foot would do better because that way, you’ve not that far to fall if both of you lose your balance.

The great thing about this setting is that you can position your wife exactly the way you want her and in the way that would maximize sexual pleasure for both of you.

The banister is more of a good place for sexual foreplay than intercourse itself but if you do find a viable way to completely make love without breaking any bones then, please, do share!

Against the Windows

Figure a way to get rid of all other people at home – your kids, your in-laws, the household help – because this is one of the riskier ways to exploring your home for sexual encounters.

Next, choose any windows in your home – if it’s full length then so much the better! The idea is to show nothing while you’re completely exposed and doing something naughty with your spouse. Your wife could stand next to the windows, pretending to watch the daily going-ons in the neighborhood but in truth, she’s trying to keep herself from screaming out pleasure as you enter her again and again from behind.

We’re willing to bet that you’re going to love this so much you’ll want to do this again and again.

The Balcony

If you’ve already done it on the balcony of your hotel or resort suite then why shouldn’t you make love on your very own balcony as well? Granted, the risk of being caught by someone you know is a lot higher but hey, what’s life without a little danger here and there, right?

For the risk-averse couples, here’s a compromise: you can make love on the floor of your balcony. No one’s going to see you, but the idea that there could be – or there are – people outside going about their business while you have sex a couple of feet above them would put both of you on fire.

The Garage

Leave the garage door open. Then enjoy a little bit of naughty foreplay while in plain view of others. You could be tinkering with the car while your wife flashes you a glimpse of her nice body once in a while. The key is to do everything to arouse each other with no one else the wiser of what’s happening.

If both of you have reached the point of no return, it’s time to park your car with the trunk facing the street. Now open the hood of your car and stand behind it. You know what to do next, don’t you?

These are not the only places besides the bed that you can enjoy sex at home. You just have to be more imaginative as usual and the sexual rewards will be infinite!

Reach Your Goals – Never Settle For What You Can Currently Imagine

Never settle for what you can currently imagine You are a captive of your own imagination. In other words, your wildest dreams form the outer limit of what you believe to be achievable. However, there are many people who are living lives, doing things, and creating realities that are so far beyond what you could ever imagine that it will simply never occur to you to think about it – unless you consciously make the effort to suspend all disbelief in furtherance of your ideal life. At one time, the running a 4-minute mile was thought by the top physical scientists of the day to be beyond the farthest bounds of what a human body could do – the physiology quite simply could not withstand the stresses needed to break this barrier. All their research supported these ideas and proved them to be true over and over again. Too bad for them it was not true. When Roger Bannister beat the 4-minute mile in 1954, he was almost immediately followed by another, and then another and then hundreds of "anothers", all running miles in under 4 minutes, until the point was reached where a 4-minute mile was less a wild success and more of a minimal time to beat as a measure of competitive racing base talent. What happened? It's simple. Bannister went to the edge of everyone's wildest dreams about how fast a runner could go and he used that point as a starting block, rather than a finish line. And you can do the same. What are your wildest dreams surrounding your goal? Consider relocating your starting point to that accomplishment as the least you are willing to accomplish, rather than setting it up as a destination you one day hope to claw and drag your poor, worn carcass up to. Dream big, then run your race from the finish line onward.

Electric Guitars – How to Use the Pickup Selector Switch

One of the inherit beauties of the electric guitar is the ability to create a myriad of tones. There are so many choices out there in reference to body style pickup configuration and other determining factors that one could easily get confused. What about the pickup selector switch, what role does it play with your tone and how do you use it effectively? This is a common question especially among beginning guitar players that are looking for the exact application of all the elements needed. To start with, there are two different common types of selector switches. There is the 3 position switch and the 5 position selector switch. We will go through each one and what each position means. Make sure if you’re taking online guitar classes you ask your teacher for more specifics if you don’t understand.

The 3 position switch – you will find almost all guitars with 2 pickups have a 3 position switch on them. It might be labeled as lead in the down position and rhythm in the up position. Then of course there is the middle position where you are left guessing. I address this with all my students during online guitar classes. To make it simple, the purpose of this switch, it is simply turning on and off the two pickups. In the up position, only the neck pickup is active. The bridge pickup will be completely shut off. This is a good setting for subtle background rhythms. The middle position will be a combination of both the neck and the bridge pickup. If you have 2 volume controls and 2 tone controls, such as with the Gibson Les Paul, you can mix the sound of these two pickups to your liking. This setting is also used for rhythm, albeit the rhythms are going to be louder in the mix since the bridge pickup is activated. Of course the last position, all the way down, turns on the bridge pickup only. This is obviously the lead position, since it typically is a hotter pickup, and receives more of the string vibration coming off the bridge.

The 5 position Switch – I get more questions about the 5 position switch than any from students during online guitar classes. This will be a switch typically found on a guitar with three pickups, like the Fender Stratocaster. It serves the same function as the 3 position switch but obviously accommodating the extra pickup. Position one which is all the way up, is turning on the neck pickup only. Again, this is really good for subtle rhythms as it produces the fattest tone you will get on the guitar. The next position down will turn on your neck and middle pickup. This too is a rhythm setting and will give more treble to your tone. The third position will turn on the middle pickup only. This setting will provide a nice rhythm tone as well and is applied when you want to cut through the mix, but not too much. The next notch down will turn on the bridge and middle pickups. This is a great setting for more prominent rhythms and for less boisterous leads, like harmony leads for instance. If you’re doing the harmony part, you will not want to be as prominent in the mix as your counterpart. Last but not least, all the way down and you turn on the bridge pickup, giving you the most gain you can achieve, and the best setting for playing lead.

As with anything you will want to experiment. More information can also be obtained through online guitar classes. You’ll find different pickups can achieve different levels of the aforementioned tones. Just remember, learning how to use these settings properly, and knowing which song or situation matches up with the best setting, will speak well of you professionally.

Frontal Lobe Damage Can Cause Seizures

One of the more tragic accidents that can happen to a person is when the brain is hit. There is no known cure for damage to the frontal lobe. The extent of the damage cannot be detected too. How the brain functions is in fact a mystery to us all. It is actually a good thing that our brain is protected by a skull. Can you just imagine the extent of the damage to us all if there isn’t any skull to protect the brain? We might not live for very long. However, even with the skull to protect it, accidents happen and some of these accidents may cause frontal lobe damage. One of the sure signs that there is damage is the occurrence of seizures.

If you see a person having seizures, bring that person to a doctor immediately. Signs that a seizure is happening are the following: disorientation to surroundings, prolonged staring, disorientation of movements such as repeated mouth movements, smacking. Those who have it usually do not remember that a seizure has just occurred. That is why it is best to bring the one who actually witnessed the seizure together with the patient to the doctor.

Usually, anti-seizure medications are used to gain temporary relief from seizures caused by frontal lobe damage. These are prescribed by a doctor. Surgery is also option for those who want to get rid of the seizures. You have to know that frontal lobe damage is not only caused by accidents. Sometimes it can be caused by a growing tumor in the area, genetic conditions or even blood vessel formation.

Tips For Buying Waterfront Property

Many people dream of owning a home on the water, whether it be a lake, river, or bay. For many, views of sunrises and sunsets on a peaceful lake bring feelings of happiness, serenity, and calmness. If you think you may be ready to make this dream come true for yourself, there are a few considerations you may want to reflect upon before taking that first step.

Considerations Before You Buy Waterfront Real Estate

Firstly, address the exact reasons why you want to own a waterfront property. What kind of activities do you plan on doing? Boating, fishing, and swimming are common water activities, but can not be accomplished on just any body of water. Be sure that the water on your prospective property can accommodate your needs and desires.

Decide if you want to have rural surroundings, or if you would like to live near more urban conveniences. Choose your prospects accordingly.

Be aware of any federal, state, and local laws that may affect you as a waterfront property owner. Research these laws before deciding if that waterfront home is really for you.

Know that, as an owner of waterfront property, you will have a responsibility to protect that environment for future generations. This practice is called stewardship and should never be taken lightly. Protecting the natural shoreline of your waterfront real estate will not only benefit the environment, but your investment as well.

Water Quality

You want to be sure that the quality of the water meets your personal standards. The water, wildlife, and lake bottom are just some of the important factors to consider. Remember, while the landscaping of your land may be altered to your specifications, the water is the one thing on your property that can not be changed.

Ideally, you want your shoreline to be sandy. Mucky shorelines are not very pleasant to walk on. While there will almost always be some muck on the shore, less is better.

If you plan on fishing on your lake, be sure to research the native species of fish living within your body of water.

The lake bottom is another substantial factor to consider. As with the shore, you do not want an overly mucky bottom. Preferably, you will most likely want a sandy bottom or similar material.

The clearer the water, the better. "A recent study of over 1,000 waterfront properties in Minnesota found, when all other factors were equal, properties on lakes with clear water command significantly higher property prices."

Soldering Tattoo Needles

As a tattoo artist, you are more than likely to have found that the costs of tattooing can be great. However, some costs can be cut back considerably if you have the time, and knowledge to do so.

Making your own tattoo needles can save you money, but is it worth the time? That is something that you will need to ask yourself. Every artist will develop their own technique in needle making. Although, it is more common to purchase pre-made, and pre-sterilized tattoo needles.

Tattoo needles are formed by soldering a grouping of needles onto a needle bar, or back stem. The needle bars length will range from 4.5-5 inches in length. All needle bars made for tattooing have a loop, or eyelet at one end.

The groupings of needles can be made in several different sizes and shapes, however the more common groupings are rounds, flats, and mags (magnums). Rounds are more commonly used for lining, or portrait work. Flats for shading, and mags for fill work.

Rounds are made by soldering the needles in a circular pattern, tighter rounds are more common for line work while looser rounds are more suited to shading. Flats are soldered side by side in a row, and can as well be either "loose" or "tight" configuration, although most artists prefer a looser grouping of needles. Mags can be a single, or double stack much like flats they are soldered side by side, however they are separated into upper, and lower rows, or they are double stacked.

Making your own needles is a meticulous process, and you will need to have the proper set up to do so. Remember, just because you are making your own needles there are still sterilization steps that need to be taken. Whether pre-made needles bought in bulk, or self-made needles they will need to be packaged individually and autoclaved before use.

The How to on Creating Lariat Art

In 1998, a friend who team ropes, gave me a basket made from his used lariats. I had never seen anything like it. It was great! You could put a plant, pens, or the five remotes that sat on top of my TV in it. After receiving this basket, I was determined to create my own lariat items.

I have used many ways to hold the rope together, such as hot glue and a propane torch. I can tell you the best way is with a soldering iron. An iron with a wide tip, and heats up to 750 degrees is the best. You do not want the iron too hot; it will unravel your rope, especially if you have a real crisp one. With 750 degrees, the rope melts gradually and you can work with it better. Oh, and you might want to purchase welding gloves, sometimes your hand will slip and well, it hurts!

One lariat is usually 32 to 35 feet long. I can make a small basket with one lariat. Dimensions are about 8 inches diameter x 6-7 inches high. At one end of the rope there is a hondo, at the other end, a tassel. Take either end to start with, make a loop and where the rope meets take your soldering iron and seal the seam. You are basically melting the rope together and it creates it's own glue. There is smoke produced, so I recommend doing this outside for the smoke is a bit toxic. You can repeat your melting in a couple inch intervals or one continuous line. You will notice that with inch intervals it creates a pattern down your basket, which is nice. When you get a few loops into your basket, try to judge the amount of rope it will take to make the bottom of your basket. You will want to save a foot or so of the end of the lariat to add to the top of your basket. You connect the tassel into the hondo for a complete look.

Then, get creative! Add conchos, feathers or make a design on the outside with your soldering iron. The possibilities are endless. Experiment with shapes as well. Of course they will be roundish, just because of the natural bend in the rope, but you can start small at the top of your basket and widen out or start wide and end narrow, like a vase.

Dry Socket Symptoms and Its Treatment

Dry socket is a complication of healing of wounds after extracting a tooth. It surrounds the teeth and a part of our jawbone. It is generally caused when a blood clot forms after extracting the tooth. Granulation tissue also called the healing tissue is supposed to replace the blood clot which may fail to grow or be disrupted after beginning to grow resulting into the creation of dry sockets. Healing wounds is not an easy thing to do as the process is very complex and can positive or negatively affected by many factors. They are the most common healing disturbance of extraction sockets. At the later stage of disruption of the extraction of sockets may lead to necrotizing osteitis in which bony sequestrate will be noted alongside inflammatory cells.

Usually dry sockets occurs for 3-5 days or can be more after the extraction of tooth which might cause unbearable pain and the worst part is, it is difficult to localize. Generally doctor understands by observing the side effects like detritus, grayish slough, severe pain and foul odor. The foul odor, in particular, that makes the doctor realize that the person is suffering from it. The foul odor generally come the blood clot that profusely falls after the extraction of the tooth. Bare bone which is generally sensitive will be encountered if a probe is gently passed in the tooth extraction socket then. This is a bit strange that nobody knows clearly why dry socket develops after a tooth has been extracted. Some people thinks that it is because the extraction process is quite complex. Some people think too much of smoking can cause this kind of problems as they reduce the amount of oxygen which is available in healing tissues. So it will be a smart thing to do if you avoid smoking for some days.

Role of Light and Illumination in Photography

Light and illumination are the basics of photography. The very word "photography" comes from two Greek words, phos meaning light, and graphis meaning drawing. Hence, photography can be described as "drawing with light". As we start the lesson, I want to wish you a pleasant and illuminating session!

If you ask me to name the most important thing in photography, I would say light. Without light, there is no illumination. In a room without illumination, everything is pitch black. You can not see a thing. Taking a shot – assuming your camera allows you to – produces a solid black photograph. You switch on a lamp, and you send light across the room, and everything is illuminated. Now you can take a photograph and show something in the picture. You realize that your eye and the camera both need light and illumination to work.

Photography is about capturing light and recording it, whether on paper, or more frequently now, in a digital format. As a photographer, you control the amount, intensity and duration of light required to create the picture. The apparatus used to draw with light is called the camera, which comes from camera obscura, a box with a hole for light to pass through and strike the backwall of it. The name "camera obscura" actually means dark chamber, and indeed, the word "camera" is still used in some languages such as Italian to mean "room" or "chamber".

There is a saying that the camera never lies. Actually, the camera is rarely capable of telling the whole truth. Without even going to what the camera shows, it often can not even get the brightness right. Have you ever taken a photograph, and the shot seems brighter or darker than what you remember the scene to be? With a digital camera, you can even see then and there how distant the difference between what you see in front of you and what the camera recorded. Why is that so?

The camera and our eyes work in pretty much the same way. The difference between the two is that our eyes are better able to handle wide differences in light intensity. For example, if you take a photograph from inside a room with an open window, you may get the room properly exposed but the window is too bright, or the window looks right but the room too dark. Yet our eyes do not have such a problem: they can see everything inside the room and outside the window properly exposed. The reason is, our eyes can compensate for the wide difference in light whereas the camera can not.

Secondly, our eye is more sensitive to light than most of the amateur / prosumer cameras. In a dark environment, such as inside a movie theatre, our eyes can still adjust to the lack of light and allow us to see the rows of chairs and people. Most cameras would have difficulty focusing under such a demanding
condition.

So are we saying that the eye shows reality but the camera does not? Neither is capable of showing us reality all the time. What our eye and the camera do is that they provide their interpretation of reality. What we see with our eye and what we see with the camera are what they are capable of showing us. As an example:

Switch on a fan. You see the blades start to turn. Soon the blades become a blur. Now aim a camera at the fan, set it to the highest shutter speed and take a shot of the fan. The picture comes out showing the blades seemingly motionless. Why is it that our eyes show the blades blur while the camera shows them still?

On the other hand, have you seen photographs taken in crowded public places such as railway stations or airports, where the people seem to be blur? Your eyes never show you people as a motion blur, and yet that's how they look like in the photo. How is that possible?

Our eyes are capable of showing a moving object as sharp, up to a certain speed. Beyond that, it becomes a blur. The camera, on the other hand, will record the object as sharp or blur, depending on the shutter speed that we set. Our eyes and the camera both provide an interpretation of reality, but they interpret reality in their own way. Moreover, our eyes see things in continuous motion while the camera captures a moment.

Have you seen a photo where people appear as motion blur? Have you seen a photo where the subject is sharp but the background of off-focus? Or a photo of a stream where the water become a milky blur? Or an ocean where the rolling waves are frozen? These are all possible with a camera, even though reality
does not look like that at all. And yet, often such pictures are regarding as being very well taken.

That takes us back to the art of photography. It is after all, an art form. Art does not have to look like reality. Art can be very unreal as still look pleasing. As a photographer, your goal is to create photographs that are pleasing to the eye. The next time someone tells you, "Oh, your photo looks so real!" thank them, but be mindful that none of your photograph – not a single one – is 100% the real thing, but only an interpretation on it.

What we've learned in this article:

– Our eye and the camera need light and illumination to work.

– Our eye and the camera do not record reality, but provide an interpretation of reality.

– Our eye and the camera interpret reality differently.

– Our goal as photographer is to create images that are pleasing to the eye.
