The History of Harley Shovelhead

The panhead is one of the older engines that Harleys used back in the past. Through time it was replaced by Harley shovelhead. This v-twin engine lasted from 1966 to 1984 and was powerful and air cooled. People just wanted a stronger and faster type of motorcycle. When riding a motorcycle or driving a car, you always have the need to drive faster and see what it’s capable of. With many modifications done to the motorcycle to meet customer satisfaction, Harley motorcycles have change a lot from when it was just released. It seems like businesses can’t satisfy every customer, so they go for what the majority wants and keeps it that way. Popular demand has been one of the best ways for businesses to make a lot of money.

With modern technology and upgrade everywhere there was no way that Harley Shovelhead would have lasted this long. There are just some things that aren’t made to be perfect and some things are always replaceable for the better. Although this engine had the power that many loved, the engine was just too heavy to control. At high speed the bike became unstable and hard to control. To fix this problem they had to come out with another engine that not only was powerful but also light. Most motorcycle itself is already heavy in weight and with a heavy engine makes it even more difficult for bikers to enjoy the ride. As far as speed goes, this will make the motorcycle unsafe if it’s hard to steer. When safety is a concern, people will do whatever it takes to make it safer.

Although the Harley Shovelhead lasted about 20 years, many people just wanted something better. There are some people who actually still use shovelhead today, because the still love the power. Since Harley stop making these type of engine, people are still trying to get a hold of one to bring back one of the most powerful engine during the time. With business it’s all about what the consumers want, so even though many opposed, they still had to make the change for the better. Currently the Harleys are using a twin cam engine which is more advanced than most engines. If you are a Harley fan than you definitely can’t forgot some of the older models and history of the Harleys. People are always trying to keep the classic motorcycles and keep that legacy alive.

Face Lift, Non-Surgical – How to Get a Face Lift and Avoid Surgery

Not everyone wants to endure the effects of having a face lift, so there are alternate procedures that can be done. For example, you can have work done with face lift non-surgical techniques that have been very effective for many individuals and it's also almost completely pain free! Prospective patients might think that the cost of having a face lift is much too expensive for them as well, and that is why they would rather opt for a less expensive face lift non-surgical technique.

Some of the proven techniques that are used in a non-surgical face lift procedure can be:

# 1. Facial Fillers
# 2. Acne Removal
# 3. Pockmark Removal
# 4. Chemical Peel
# 5. Botox Injections

The Cost of these types of procedures can range anywhere from three hundred to three hundred and fifty dollars for a facial filler treatment. This type of treatment is injectable and works to produce plumper lips. Think Angelina Jolie and you'll get the picture. Other forms of popular and effective facial fillers are collagen and restylane. Often these are not used by themselves, but are used in conjunction with skin resurfacing using a laser technique. While the cost per injection is close to the estimate we provided, you also need to know that the results are only temporary. So even though they are initially less expensive than a surgical procedure, they could cost more in the long run. Generally, facial fillers must be repeated every six to eight months to maintain their appearance.

Prices for the acne and pockmark removal can be quite reasonable. For five to seven sessions we found an estimated cost of five hundred to eight hundred dollars, which is very reasonable. This microdermabrasion non-surgical technique takes away the top layer of skin so that a new scar free surface is revealed. This technique is quite possibly the most reasonably priced of all the non-surgical techniques.

Chemical peels can average between three hundred and two thousand dollars. The expanse in price comes from the non-surgical technique used. If only a mild peel is used the price should be lower, whereas a full facial deep peel will likely be more costly. Botox injections are used in the forehead and cheek area to reduce laugh lines, "crow's feet" and other normal signs of age. This face lift non-surgical procedure must also be repeated over time as it is not a permanent solution.

Understanding Dreams About Loss Of Control

Crazy things happen in dreams… in real life you are unlikely to find yourself in the back of a car that suddenly has no driver, or about to deliver your keynote presentation when you realise you have no notes with you, or other essentials. Thank goodness for that, life itself is less random, and the kind of logistical screw-ups we’re presented with are usually less dramatic – and largely of our own making.

That’s the key – when we dream of the missing tickets at the airport, our subconscious mind is presenting us with our own underlying anxieties, about something we feel insecure or out of control of. In many of the typical scenarios, it’s a big event: your first day in a new job, or an important family occasion, something that in real life you would plan and prepare for minutely. But this very degree of attention that complex planning requires, sends concern deep into your unconscious – so, in the middle of the night, it gets reflected back to you in your dreams: yes, I remembered the cake, the gift, the flowers, the drinks, but oh my goodness I somehow forgot to get dressed this morning, and now everyone is staring at me… and because they are staring, I can’t make myself walk, or speak, or do anything they expect me to, and the shame and stress and level of attention is growing by the second… I have completely lost control.

People who suffer frequently from this kind of dream often have a huge amount on their plate in the conscious, waking world – complicated personal and professional responsibilities, often coupled with a poor sense of being on top of things and managing their commitments successfully. This is tough one because, for many of us, life simply is very complicated, and keeping all the plates spinning demands constant vigilance. That external reality we probably cannot change (although a review of commitments never hurts to be sure), but what we can change is how we manage and respond to those commitments.

You can use this kind of ‘losing control’ dream as a warning that you are becoming stressed and overloaded, and take it as a sign you need to call a time-out, and look at why your unconscious mind is telling you a plate is in danger of crashing to the ground (and even allowing you to rehearse how you’d feel about it, if you were to let it happen). Your dreams are direct messengers from your own unconscious, and if you are suppressing growing anxiety about your overload in your conscious mind, you have to learn to listen to and take advice from the rest of your mind.

Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – A 25 Year Battle Before Moringa

It started with a bad case of the flu. Throughout the rest of that year I visited the clinic because of sleep marathons and strange body aches and each time I was told I had the flu. People just don’t get the flu 5 times in one year. That was in 1986. When I started needing a nap every day I thought it was allergies, the doctor laughed and told me I was a bored housewife. Other symptoms cropped up, a spastic colon and inflamed bowel. Diagnostic tests of upper and lower GI’s failed to find any underlying medical issues.

In 1991, I had a strange feeling in my hands. Within 4 days every joint in my body had stiffened and swelled, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Essentially I was disabled for the next two weeks, unable to stand without support, unable to open my hands, and too exhausted to think. It took about 6 months to return to a regular level of health. Muscle and joint pain continued to be a frequent problem. When the RH factor did not show in a blood test I was diagnosed with disrupted sleep patterns and treated with Ambien.

Between 1997 and 1998 I lost two jobs because of problems with memory, and the inability to properly react in a situation involving clients. In 1999, I was physically exhausted and in pain, for a time I had to forgo cooking at the stove because I would get distracted and walk away letting pots boil dry. It was when a pan of oil caught fire that I decided to stick to the microwave for a time. One day I even walked out of a store to find that I had left my keys in the car with the motor running. Another visit to a doctor finally gave me a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Of course a diagnoses doesn’t end the problem, it merely gives you the information to help you cope. Once I knew what the problem was I was able to get more information and find ways to better live with the disease. As I became more educated I was able to keep better control of my symptoms. Regular exercise in the form of dancing and walking kept my body in fairly good conditioning. A good diet avoiding fried foods and excess sweets made a big difference. I noticed the increased pain if I indulged is some foods like chocolate ice cream. Keeping hydrated and avoiding stressful situations is also key in controlling the symptoms. However, we can’t always stay in control of our lives. Stress happens and Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue` Syndrome can often go into a downward spiral; I was fighting that downward spiral when I found Moringa.

I received an e-mail from a friend telling me to look up Moringa, and the Miracle Tree on line. There was a wealth of information about the amazing tree, its nutritional benefits, and the promising research into its medicinal properties. This plant is said to have properties that inhibit the growth of cancer cells, provide unsurpassed nutrition, are high in antioxidants, speed healing, and can have positive effects on over 300 medical conditions. When my friend stopped by a few days later she brought me a packet of promotional information, and told me about another friend of hers who also suffers from fibromyalgia. The woman had been using the products developed from the Moringa plant and within a month had been able to stop using her cane for the first time in 10 years. In addition to getting relief from the fibromyalgia symptoms, she lost weight, and saw improvement in her glucose levels from diabetes. After hearing that astonishing news and impressed by what I had read on line I decided to go ahead and try the product myself. I don’t believe I have ever made a better decision. Within a week I saw and felt improvement in my concentration, memory, and skin. I was able to sit down and read a book for the first time in a year. My hands which were chapped from the dry winter weather were now well hydrated and healing.

I have continue to take Moringa over the last 4 months and seen an improvement in my moods, my energy levels, my hair, and complexion. I am not cured, I never will be; however the downward spiral of poor health was halted and I am now working my way back to a higher level of well-being with the help of this remarkable product. I plan on continuing the Moringa Daily Nutrients and I am sure my symptoms will continue to lessen as time goes by, hopefully to complete remission.

If you suffer from Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I suggest that you try the practices that gave me relief.

· Healthy diet

· Avoid fried foods and frequent sweets

· Active lifestyle

· A Regular schedule with consistent bed and waking times

· Keep well hydrated

· Avoid Stress

· Try Moringa

Camping Themes and Camping Demographics

Camping is the top outdoor vacation activity in America. Camping serves a wide variety of causes and purposes – family bonding, stress reduction, or just a great way to have a wonderful time outdoors and experience the elements in all their glory.

Camping is very alluring, even for the first-timer – of the one third of U.S. adults that have gone on a camping vacation over a five year period, only 6% said camping is not for them. This means that camping as an outdoor activity or recreation has a potentially 94% retention rate. Considering what has to go into planning a camping trip, this is a great figure.

Camping is also big business. From the manufacture and sale of camping equipment, the establishment and maintenance of camping sites, camping adds value to the economy at several stages. It is also a gateway recreation to other outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and biking.

The demographics for camping vacationers are also interesting. Camping vacationers tend to be married with children at home, with an average age of 37. The median household income of campers is around $43,000.00. What this means is that camping is not prone to getting stagnant – the demographics are driving it to be highly stable in growth as the children get more and more exposed to this activity.

Then there are the different camping styles or some may say camping types. Basically these types or styles revolve around five basic themes:

1. The cabin camper. This is a hybrid of indoors/outdoors where the camper stays mainly in a cabin or RV but still have some limited exposure to the outdoors through short hikes or even a one night sleep out. They may have some type of boat attached to their RV or even bikes. Some may scoff at this type of camping as it really does not get into the outdoor life that much.

2. The second camping theme is similar to the one above but the main difference here is that the RV becomes the main sleeping place and affords more mobility so the camper does not stay in one place too long. This type of camping can be enhanced by boating, hiking or biking, or even hunting.

3. The third theme is basically the most popular and this is where instead of a RV, the family vehicle is used and people actually sleep outdoors in tents and gather around camp sites. Again, this theme allows for other activities such as boating, hiking, biking, and hunting.

4. The fourth theme is one of the more extreme ones and it is backpacking. Instead of a RV or the family car, your main mode of transportation is walking and hauling everything you need for the camp on your back. This camping theme really restricts your activity and so you are more likely to be doing pure camping due to the level of manual effort involved in just the transportation element.

5. The fifth camping theme is a takeoff of the fourth, but is even more extreme. It involves backpacking but instead of camping at a predetermined destination, the goal is to move start from point A and finish up at point B while enjoying several camping sites in between. This can involve distances that take you across states or even borders and is really meant to be taken on by the physically fit.

So there you have it – different camping themes and a brief look at who are into camping.

Happy camping.

What’s the Deal With Grommet Curtain Panels?

Grommet curtain panels are everywhere. Look at any home decorating magazine and you will find grommet curtain panels. There is an abundance of fabrics, patterns, colors and lengths to choose from. They’re not a new idea, so what gives?

First, what exactly is a grommet? Grommet is used to describe the top of the panel. A grommet is a reinforced eyelet made of plastic or metal through which a decorative rod is placed. Grommet panels slide easily along a decorative rod and fall into neat, clean folds. Ideal for french doors, sliding doors, or any window where you want the flexibility of opening and closing the panels.

A few years ago, grommet curtain panels were not that easy to find. One had to either have them custom made or try to make them on their own using a grommet machine. But today there are overwhelming sources for grommet curtain panels. Not only are curtain stores selling them, but other retailers such as bed, bath outlets, department stores, warehouse type stores, and the list goes on. Here’s the catch, not all grommets are created equal. There is a massive difference in quality and workmanship. It is true that you can get a grommet curtain panel for $10, I saw some today as I was shopping, but you really get what you pay for. Buyer Beware! Whatever your budget, there’s a grommet curtain for you.

Grommet curtain panels can be used for almost any application. They are great for sliding doors, French doors, large windows, small windows, picture windows, and the list goes on.

Here’s a tip on buying grommet curtains, the length and the fullness are most important. Grommet curtains should go to the floor, but can end just below the sill or they can even puddle if using a luxurious fabric such as silk, faux silk or taffeta. The standard length is 84″, but there are more and more companies that are coming out with longer lengths such as 95″, 108″ and 120″. Measure from the rod down to get your height. The width is just as important. You don’t want to end up with a window that looks like it was covered with a piece of fabric. Make sure that your fullness is at least 2 times the width of the window. If you have small windows, get a rod that is 4-6″ wider on each side for the stackback of the curtain, giving the illusion of a larger window. This also maximizes the amount of light coming into the room. For larger windows, more panels may be needed, but make sure that they are even numbers, you don’t want to end up with a lopsided look. For instance, have 2 panels on each side of the window rather than 1 and 2. You can have these panels sewn together or they can be left as is. If you provide enough fullness, chances are you’ll be the only one that knows that they are not joined. Most ready-made companies and even some custom companies only offer grommet curtain panels in single widths (50-54″). There are custom companies that can make wider grommet curtain panels, but the cost is extremely high.

The advantages of a grommet curtain panel are: trendy and current in design, contemporary and not your typical grandmothers curtains, affordable, easily slide open and close, reveal a decorative rod for added décor, and most importantly one doesn’t need to be a professional to pull this look off.

Grommet Curtains are functional, stylish and affordable!! You can’t say that about every window treatment.

How to Do Planks

Do you want to get that 6 pack you said you will get every year? If you're tired of doing hundreds of sit ups and can not see any results, then this may help you. Planks are one of the best abs workout you can do because it does not involve doing hundreds of sit ups or crunches; it tightens and tones your abs with a few minutes a day. I am not going to say you'll get a six pack in a matter of days; it takes hard work and dieting to get that 6 pack you want. I am just saying doing this will help.

Regular Planks

Step 1 Find a place where you can lay down. It helps if you have a mat.

Step 2 Lay face down. Your forearms should be under your shoulder. Legs fully extended and you should be on your toes this is the starting position.

Step 3 Hold the position as long as you can this engages the abs. Then relax. This exercise is not about reps it's about how long you can hold on to the exercise – the longer the better.

Step 4 does as many sets as you can to meet your goal.

Side planks

Step 1 Find a place where you can lay down. It helps if you have a mat.

Step 2 Lay on your side. Your forearms should be under your shoulder. One of your legs should be on top of the other

Step 3 Hold the position as long as you can; this engages the abs. Then relax. This exercise is not about reps it's about how long you can hold on to the exercise – the longer the better.

Step 4 does as many sets as you can to meet your goal.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The next thing that naturally follows Market Research is the process of setting up your Marketing Funnel. This chapter will focus on how to do just that.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

– To highlight what a strategic marketing funnel is

– To demonstrate how to tactically set it up

– To encourage each student to set her own in her chosen market niche.

3.0 MAIN CONTENT

Before we go in to discuss how to plan your Marketing Funnel, there is a need to define it.

3.1 What is a marketing funnel?

It is an overall plan to channel new prospects into your business with the aim of developing a relationship, a sale, repeat sales and finally turning them to become not only your clients, but also your raving Fans for life.

It has also been defined by other authorities as a simple marketing system that you set up to collect email addresses of your prospects in such a way that you can market to them automatically.

There are two types namely: a lead-driven and a sales-driven marketing funnel.

After securing a purchase from your prospect, the former puts the customer in your list, your control for further marketing while the later puts them in the affiliate merchants’ control, gone forever out of your hands.

For beginners I recommend lead-driven marketing funnel as it is very useful for affiliate marketing, but sales-driven marketing funnel is good if you have your own product as a merchant in ClickBank etc. where other affiliate are selling for you. At the end you get the money and the list for further marketing.

When you are setting up your lead-driven marketing funnel, you need 2 things namely: a free offer and an autoresponder. I will deliberate on them in other parts of this eCourse.

However, strategically, a marketing Funnel is usually depicted as an inverted pyramid (or funnel), with 5 connected parts:

  1. The top broad inverted base =>
  2. The middle small part =>
  3. The smaller underneath vertex =>
  4. The smallest tip that opens into the funnel channel =>
  5. The channel.

The inverted Pyramid (or Funnel) portions described above can then be labelled in that order as listed:

  1. Awareness
  2. Consideration
  3. Conversion
  4. Loyalty
  5. Advocacy

3.2 Awareness

The top broad zenith (in the inverted pyramid) represents all the ways you attempt to create awareness for your brand, product or website; to attract and lead the people to your website. This include over 5-10 free and paid ways that you will regularly use to attract prospects to your website and finally to your products.

Top and easiest among them are the Social Media – Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, Squidoo Lens, Classified Ads, Press Releases, HubPages, Answer Sites, Forum, etc.

There are simple ways of placing ads on those sites – those kind of ads you often see on sites like Facebook and Yahoo Answers, etc.

The major aim is to create public/market awareness of your brand, products and services.

3.3 Consideration

The middle portion called consideration. It is where you offer to them valuable goods and services as baits and pecks to get them involved in doing business with you.

The goal here is to make a calculated attempt to convince them to join your list.

Thus, whatever you are offering must be very relevant to your market niche, but quite different from what you are putting up for sale.

If you are selling Affiliate products, the vendor will more often than not provide you with products that will serve as Free Offers which you can use here as baits to get people into your lists. If they don’t, you can create them by yourself using free but relevant downloads or free products from other sources.

3.4 Conversion

The bottom portion represents the period that you have successfully convince them to join your list. This is called conversion.

Two things may happen immediately they have join your list. They will either buy your product or fail to do so.

As a savvy marketer, you must know that the game is not yet over till (and even after) they have bought from you.

The next thing is to get them on your educational series by sending to them lessons on the relevant niche. More often than not, they will later end up buying from you (if they did not, initially).

Thus, for most prospects, they need some kind of education on what they are about to get involved.

Email series of at least 7 lessons can help the prospect pass over this stage to become a customer.

3.5 Loyalty

Loyalty is when your customer shows up repeatedly to buy your related products in connection with the initial purchase.

3.6 Advocacy

If you did the above groundwork well, your customers by now will be recommending your products and services to other customers – his friends, relations, acquaintances, etc. It is a sign of Loyalty and what every Marketer that knows his Onions should be aiming at.

This is the ultimate level of Internet Marketing!

Planning your marketing funnel:

Tactically, here is a simple and straightforward way to plan your marketing funnel.

From top to bottom Marketing Funnel typically contains:

  1. Freebies
  2. Sign up
  3. One Time Offers (OTOs) often at a very minimal initial prices
  4. Free eCourse
  5. Sales Promotion
  6. Membership Site Offer or
  7. Another OTO, all at reduced initial prices
  8. These positions may vary slightly depending on your goal for setting up the marketing funnel

4.0 CONCLUSION

It is only when you set up a marketing funnel for your niche market that you have really start business – online business. Otherwise, Internet Marketing is just your hobby and not yet a Business for you.

5.0 SUMMARY

The conduct of this aspect of business is also influenced by the approach of the marketer, some prefers a Soft Approach while others use the Hard Approach to Marketing.

I will return to this topic with more details when I will be discussing on setting up the Autoresponder Messages.

What do you think you should do next after this?

Did I heard you say: Domain Name Registration and Hosting?

You are absolutely right, and that is what I will be talking about in the next chapter.

6.0 ASSIGNMENT

Can you plan and set up your own funnel in your chosen market niche before you go unto the next eCourse?

Identify the Different Wood Handrails Stair Parts

There is a wide variety of wood handrails stair parts from which to choose. It all depends on your preference of hand railing style. A popular style, and my personal favorite, is composed of all wood with fillet material set between the stair spindles, which are also known as balusters. Since the spindles fit into the recessed area between the top and bottom handrails, there is still an open area left.

Handrail Styles

There are several different styles and sizes of wood handrails. The ones, which I’ve built the most of, are the small handrail, which has a 1 1/4-inch baluster, and the larger handrail having a 1 3/4-inch baluster. Both of these give the handrail a polished look. Be sure that you select the matching top and bottom rail size when shopping for your hand railing parts.

Baluster Styles

Balusters, or spindles, also come in a wide variety of styles. Turned balusters are shaped with a lathe into different styles and profiles. The bottom of the baluster is still square so it fits neatly into the rail. Square balusters are square shaped from top to bottom. When you order balusters, be sure to order them in pairs to avoid mixing styles by mistake and double check the size to ensure they’ll fit into the rails.

Newel Post Styles

The newel post is the main support for the handrail and comes in many styles. They can be similar to the baluster as square or turned with an assortment of top styles. An example is a square newel post with a top shaped like an acorn. You’ll also need to decide on the length of your newel post.

Rosette Styles

Don’t forget about finishing off the spot where the handrail and the wall meet. Here’s where you’ll want to attached a rosette, which is a piece of wood that decorates this spot. Again, you’ll have lots to choose from in the many styles, shapes and designs. The rosette is optional, however, and the handrail can simply be placed flush with the wall for a clean and simple look.

Miscellaneous Parts

There are several other parts to a staircase, such as cap boards and the boards that fit over the knee wall. A bull nose trim on the floor edge of the railing or a step edge is a nice look. Newel posts, depending on the style, sometimes need additional parts for mounting. This is a popular project and is easy to modify for different uses.

Installing Deck Porch Railings

Getting the Right Deck Porch Railings

Deck porch railings come in many styles. Unlike years ago, when we could use any style we wanted, today parents need to be careful of what types they use for safety reasons. Deck balusters or deck porch railings need to be no more than 4″ apart, the average size of an infant’s head.

Deck balusters are the vertical pieces of decking that are situated at regular intervals between the posts you have in your deck railing. The reason for the maximum distance is for safely reason so small children will not fall from the deck. Children love trying to maneuver between small spaces, so the measurements must be of such that they do not pose a threat to their safety. Whereas years ago deck railings were all similar and very simple, today they come in a variety of colors and materials.

New Look in Balusters

The old time balusters were wood pickets or boards that were situated in a straight line. As beautiful as wood can be, it had a tendency to splinter over time as well as needing maintenance periodically. Painting was also required from time to time, which tended to be difficult. Although you can still purchase wood balusters, many people prefer these; they can now be purchased with many other materials. Many of these new materials will give you the old style classic look that’s become so popular today. Many people don’t like change, but consider checking out some of these new styles of balusters, which now require less maintenance.

Different Styles of Balusters

The traditional balusters are now available in powder-coated aluminum and come in either square or round shapes. They are easy to install, requiring only screws that cot into the railing. Color coordinated screws make it almost impossible to see them. With these new aluminum balusters, you’ll no longer have to spend time sanding or painting to keep them looking fresh and new.

Aluminum balusters are becoming very popular when used with deck porch railings. Their appearance is very similar to forged wrought iron, but cost a lot less then balusters made of real wrought iron. The two most popular colors they are available in, bronze and black, go with almost anything. These colors go with the very popular wood railings, but there are other colors available as well. Some of the designs and styles these come in include colonial, baroque, arc, etc. Installing them is very easy with the screw connectors. Stainless steel is another easy to maintain material for balusters and require little or no painting or maintenance.

Another decorative material, glass, is very popular. Glass balusters are made of transparent Perspex or thick safety glass. Their stainless steel screw kit that accompanies the glass balusters make them very easy to install. Many people that don’t have rambunctious young children choose glass balusters.

As you can see, no longer will your deck include boring and drab balusters or deck porch railings. With the many different styles and colors available, your deck can become a real showcase of beauty and comfort.

Choosing the Right Balustrade For Your Home

A balustrade is a molded shaft that is designed to support the coping of a balcony handrail, parapet or even the handrails on the staircase. Initially made from stone, these balustrades were first designed from Italian architecture and this is the reason why they add so much style to any building.

Apart from supporting the railings of staircases and balconies, balustrades also give the room a different look, adding beauty and elegance to the room it is placed in. This is why nowadays nearly all the buildings we see have some kind of balustrading done and it has become a great part of interior as well as outdoor designing.

Balustrades are available in a number of different designs and you can also get them in different materials. The most common materials used nowadays are wrought iron, cast iron, glass, wire and wood. Deciding upon the kind of material you want to use depends on what look you would like to give the building. If you want something which gives the room a rustic feel, getting softwood balustrading can be a great option. For a more contemporary look, glass balustrading is perfect and it also is one of the best options to go in for.

In the event that you do not like any of the designs that are available in the market (which is quite unlikely), you can find places that make your own custom design. Custom designing may seem like a great choice, but it will definitely be a lot more expensive than getting a ready made design.

Matching the design of your building with the balustrade design is a very important thing. If you end up getting a nice looking balustrade design which does not match the design of the building or interiors, then the whole place will just look odd.

Choosing the material is another important part of installing a balustrade. If you are planning to get balustrading done for the outdoors, then getting something that will last you is a better idea. Steel, Iron and Glass are a few good options, but steel and iron would require some kind of coating in order to prevent rust or scratches. This is why glass balustrading is the best option for outdoor purposes.

Great thing about Reviews Another glass Balustrading is That you will not have to compromise on the view. If you usually like to sit in the balcony and enjoy the evening or morning view with a nice cup of tea then glass balustrading is the best option since any other material will surely obstruct the view of the surroundings.

Giving Your Stair Banister the Holiday Treatment

Chances are you decorate your entry door and windows over the holidays. If you have a fireplace mantle, you most certainly take advantage of hanging your stockings and showing off your Christmas collectibles. So do not give up the opportunity to decorate one of the grandest architectural features of a home: the stair banister! If you got it, flaunt it!

Measure your staircase from top to bottom and plan your materials accordingly. If you are draping ribbon, you'll need to use at least double the length of the banister. The same goes for lights and garland. It's always better to have more than less, so a little excess can simply be used somewhere else in your home!

Instead of the usual evergreen garland and red ribbon or bows, try a bright citrus color like orange or a regal color such as fuchsia. Layer a translucent ribbon in the same shade to add depth. A great evergreen alternative is thick wire ribbon draped in loops up the banister. Add large pinecones (we always seem to forget these great accents!) And berry, floral or holly sprays at the top of the loops to make it festive yet natural looking.

Everyone places wreaths on their doors, but what about wreaths attached side by side on the banister? What a great way to showcase them! You can get more creative with the wreath accents then accents on a garland and create a banister that is simply stunning.

Sometimes simple equals elegant. One way to add more floral accent to a simple evergreen garland is to attach white, pink or red silk poinsettias. These gorgeous and traditional Christmas plants have often been resigned to a pot or silk arrangement. Not anymore! Add large bows and berry / pearl sprays in coordinating colors at the top and bottom of the staircase to complete the creation.

Another great take on the Christmas tree is to gather large evergreen boughs and stagger them up the banister. Then take large round ornaments on satin ribbons and hang them from the boughs at different lengths.

Running Advice – The Importance of Tapering

Tapering 'is a term used in endurance sports and basically means to reduce an athlete's training load before a major race. Personal experience and scientific research have both come to the conclusion that a period of enforced rest before racing significantly increases the athlete's level of fitness and boosts his performance by an average of 3%. For marathon runners three per cent boils down to being about 5-10 minutes faster over their racing distance.

When asked about the secret to her successes, triple Olympic speed skating champion Yvonne Van Gennep remarked, "There is no secret. It just comes down to training hard and then putting on the handbrake." Van Gennep could not have given a better or clearer explanation, for this allegorical 'handbrake' is precisely what tapering is all about. The term 'tapering' was coined in 1947 by Australian Olympic swimming coach Forbes Carlile and physiology professor Frank Cotton, who discovered that their swimmers performed much better when they eased their training in the last three weeks before competition. It was only much later that this discovery was also used in other endurance sports like running.

The biochemical explanation for tapering is that by resting the body it can recover from the shock of weeks and months of hard training and thus stand the best chance for a peak racing performance. The heavy training undertaken by the athlete prior to the race has assailed and greatly depleted his body's enzyme, glycogen and hormone stores plus impaired the natural resilience or 'spring' in his legs by causing subtle muscle damage. Tapering allows the body to replenish all these reserves and repair its muscle tissues so it can toe the starting line fully recovered and in optimum shape.

For runners a period of tapering can last anywhere from 10 to 21 days, often depending on the length of the ensuing race – the longer the race, the longer the taper. During this period the runner should decreases his weekly mileage by anywhere from 30% to 85%. Although some suggest a gradual decrease in training volume, a scientific study undertaken in 1999 showed that during a 14 day taper a rapid mileage decrease of 50% during the first three days, followed by 75% in the next three days and continued by a steady decrease over the last eight days resulted in the best racing performance. It was also shown that, contrary to popular belief, running during the tapering period should be done at high intensities. Intervals at 5K race pace and fast paced tempo runs are advised.

Runners often shun the tapering period because they are afraid of losing fitness. That this is an unfounded and baseless fear is shown by the myriad examples of great athletic success following a period of non-training. Often these periods of rest were not voluntarily chosen but rather forced upon by circumstances from outside. One such example is the case of Carlos Lopes who won the 1984 Olympic marathon after an accident prevented him from doing any running during the last 10 days before the event. Joan Benoit won the US Olympic Marathon Trial in 1984 after knee surgery forced her to reduce her training just before the race. She attributed her victory primarily to the fact that the surgery had forced her to train less. Later she went on to grab the gold medal in the first ever women's Olympic marathon. Another proof of the tapering formula is the story of how the immortal Czech runner Emil Zatopek became the 1950 European champion in the 5000 and 10,000 metres. Just two days before the event he was released from hospital after an illness had forced him to spend two full weeks there, preventing him from doing any training at all. And Roger Bannister only succeeded in breaking the elusive four minute barrier in the mile and setting the World Record for that distance after he had spent a week of rock climbing in Scotland in which he had not done any running.

The obvious conclusion is that resting before racing is a must for any athlete wanting to perform to his or her max. It seems strange that this so often proven, tried and tested strategy is still overlooked by a large number of athletes. Yet less is more – in life as well as in sports.

Integrating Lace Frontals

A lace frontal is a great way to make any hair extension appear more natural. As a unit that is designed to create a natural part and hairline, it is a more affordable option than most lace front wigs or full lace wigs. Even though many women venture to the salon for lace frontal installation, it can be done at home.

Finding the Right Unit

Finding the right lace frontal is the first thing that you should do. Most lace frontals cover up to the first 6 inches of the head ending at the crown. However, some cover less with the smallest lace coverage area being around 3 inches. This is important to know since your braiding pattern will depend on this in addition to the amount of hair for a weave.

Choosing a lace frontal is in many ways just like choosing a lace wig. The same lengths and textures are offered with one exception. Since lace frontals are not as popular, the color choices are rather limited. Buying the lace frontal first is best so you can match it to any other hair that you will be integrating. These partial units are often in the $100-$200 range.

Choosing Your Method

There are a number of methods you can use to integrate your lace frontal. Each one has its benefits depending on your hair needs. Each one is listed as follows.

Method One: Integration with Natural Hair

This is a good choice if you have a nice head of hair and do not mind daily styling. If you have a damaged or thinning hairline but the rest of your hair past the crown is full, this is a good option. To integrate with your own hair, make sure that the lace frontal matches your hair color and texture well.

Since the back half of the unit has lace as well, you will either need to purchase and sew in clips or securely bobby pin in the back. Securing the back with sew in clips is suggested since it will provide a better hold. Attachable clips can be purchased at your local beauty supply store or online. Sew these in with weaving string in a line of three at the back base.

All you have to do now is clean your forehead, cut the front lace, and apply with glue or tape. Once your front is secured, close your hair clips on a small horizontal braid or onto loose hair.

Method Two: Integrating With Extensions

Prior to installing the lace frontal, you must possess knowledge of hair weaving techniques. Many women choose this option because they simply want the natural hairline and part but do not require anything else as far as high ponytails.

If you want something that does not match your own hair texture or color and do not want to deal with daily styling, this is a good option. This will also act a protective style for hair growth since your natural hair is concealed.

Your first task will be to select a braiding pattern and attach the hair weave. The braiding pattern can vary depending on your style. Some women who install curly hair use a serpentine pattern since the curls are suppose to free flowing and a little wild. If you want a sleek, straight look the traditional circular pattern will work very well. Braid your hair and then prep your lace frontal. Mark where the lace frontal will end and the extension hair will begin.

Some women prefer to install the lace frontal first and then the extensions so that they can sew the final top row of hair on top or the frontal. Others prefer to install the extensions first and then lace unit using sew in clips from method one. Whatever your preference, make sure that these two are closely installed so that the hair flows seamlessly as one unit.

Commercial Real Estate and Franchise Site Selection – Taking Advantage of Closed Dealerships

It’s hard to find a good location for a franchised outlet, after all you need good traffic counts, frontage, and a you need a good price too. Luckily, commercial real estate, really choice properties are at a three-decade low, and there are some star locations now empty and ready for a little Tenant Improvement and immediate move in. Additionally, municipal planning commissions are willing to bend over backwards to fill up commercial buildings with sales tax revenue generating businesses as soon as possible, that means easy approvals for conditional use permits and waivers.

Now then, we’ve all heard of the tremendous number of closed car dealerships lately, and many of these locations are indeed in prime spots, with better than good frontage, and excellent traffic counts. What sorts of franchises would work good in a closed auto dealership? Well, how about an automotive service franchise, a restaurant franchised outlet, or one of those new Virtual Reality or Family Entertainment franchising concepts?

You know it is not often where prime properties like these come available, and it is not often when there are so many to choose from at a 30-year low in the commercial real estate markets. But, all that is now happening, and so although the recession is a huge calamity, we must remember that tried and true philosophical truth; “There is opportunity in Chaos!”

So, perhaps it makes sense to capitalize on some of this chaos and controversy before someone else snaps up these more than perfect prime commercial locations and turns them into a profitable concern. Please consider all this.
