Aerospace KPI is the Key to Industry Success

By using relevant aerospace KPI in performance evaluation, companies that belong to the aerospace industry will be able to assess employee performance and the value of their output efficiently.

The term “aerospace” typically refers to the atmosphere that surrounds the Earth as well as the surrounding space. Consequently, all companies whose end products are tools, technologies, or vehicles that allow movement through air and space are said to belong to the aerospace industry. This industry is characterized as a diverse field that involves not only commercial and industrial applications, but military applications as well. Industry participants may be involved in researches, operations, manufacture, and maintenance of aerospace vehicles.

The aerospace industry is undoubtedly one of the most dynamic industries that have emerged in the twentieth industry. Aside from paving the way for more extensive research and development in aerospace technology, the industry also significantly influences other industries, like logistics, telecommunications, electronics and computing, defense supply, as well as travel and tourism industries. Usually, the aerospace industry of most industrial countries are participated by both publicly and privately-owned companies. In connection with this, several countries have a space program that is entirely controlled by the government. The most prominent of these are the NASA of the United States, Canadian Space Agency in Canada, and the China National Space Administration in China. Moreover, through these space programs, aerospace companies are able to develop technical components and tools, like spaceships and satellites.

So integral is the aerospace industry in the country’s economy that in 2004, U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced initial investments amounting to $3 million. This fund was meant to address the special needs of the aerospace industry workforce. Just two years before, in 2002, the Department of Labor has also invested $4 million for the training of incumbent aerospace workers. In an effort to understand and resolve the problem of workforce shortages in the industry, the DOL had sought the recommendation of industry employers and industry association representatives. After all, a robust workforce is a requisite for the efficient functioning of the engines of the aerospace industry. With the eternal need for technological improvement and innovation, it is vital for the industry to motivate all employees from all organizational levels to deliver topnotch performance.

Among all aerospace companies, aerospace manufacturers are probably the most successful. These are the companies that have gained core competency in the production of aerospace products, such as aircraft, guided missiles, propulsion units, aircraft engines, and other similar parts. For these companies, it is vital to maintain a highly efficient global supply chain (GSC). It is expected that through supply chain management and logistics management, GSC for all aerospace firms will dramatically improve.

To achieve a high level of GSC integration, a major chunk of the aerospace industry had adopted Six Sigma processes. With the use of some relevant aerospace KPI and supply chain management success factors, industry players are also able to improve their logistics. With the synergy of all these evaluation tools, aerospace industry players will surely be able to keep up with the ever-changing needs and challenges that they face.

Why Behringer Is the Future

Behringer is a pro-audio company founded by Uli Behringer in 1989 that has a unique business model (in the pro-audio Industry) of selling high quality products at entry level market prices. Behringer is part of the Music Group – also chaired by Uli Behringer. The company was originally based in Willich Germany but in 1990, to lower production costs it relocated to China; In 2002 Behringer’s own factory was completed – in the Zhongshan city of China’s Guangdong province – called Behringer City which incorporated all previously separated production plants for speakers, guitars and digital pianos. Behringer has a sales network spanning over 130 countries making it a very easily distinguishable global presence in the pro-audio Industry.

Behringer’s vision has maintained throughout the years what its founder originally had in mind when starting the company: provide professional products at prices every musician can afford. One of the ways they do this is by having their product resources produced in house, from the assembly of their mixers to the fretwork on their guitars, it’s all done on site at Behringer City. For their loudspeakers they mould the cones from raw pulp, machine their own parts and wind the voice coils themselves, this not only makes their products less expensive but also allows them a greater level of quality control – this strategy was different than that taken by other musical instrument companies who used third party manufacturers to produce their product resources – but it has proven to be a sustainable business model that has served them and their clients well throughout the years. In an Industry that was orientated around selling only to the commercial market – the philosophy of selling professional products at prices every musician could afford was truly revolutionary; their “Double the features at half the price” mantra was born out of this philosophy. They still maintain that helping musicians and recording artists make a start in the industry is what motivates them to excel.

Behringer being part of the Music Group gives it many advantages over its competitors; Music Group owns Klark Teknik and Midas, two very prominent figures in the pro-audio scene, they are recognized the world over for their digital consoles and EQ/FX processing. Berhinger thus has the use of all the R&D that Midas and Klark Teknik have done throughout the years as well as their many years of combined experience. Music Group only recently having acquired these companies, there hasn’t been much collaboration between its daughter companies but the products that have come out of this mix match process so far have had commercial success beyond compare, especially Behringer’s X32 series. It is quite apparent then that whatever the future holds for Behringer, odds are it will redefine the Industry.

Behringer’s product ranges and individual products never take too long after release to garner praise and acclaim that outshines their competitors; The X32 Digital mixer received the Pro Sound Web Reader’s Choice Award at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show 2013 in Anaheim, California, where it was competing against products that cost at minimum three times its own price. Commercially the X32 mixer sold more than 20,000 units in its first six months after release. It is quite apparent then that if the trend continues – Behringer is likely to be the future of the pro-audio industry and keep on blowing its competitors out of the water.

Types Of Loaders Used In Construction

Loaders are the popular heavy machines, especially used in construction sites for carrying dirt, debris, mud, rocks, sand etc. and dumping these waste materials in to another vehicle or other machines so as to clean the area. This is a popular construction machinery and there are different types of loaders used in construction. The most common types are discussed here in.

Wheel Loader

A wheel loader is basically a front end heavy loading machine. This machine digs the materials from the ground and drag them to the dumping area. The bucket size and operating weights vary in different machines. There are two basic varieties: tyre mounted or track mounted. The more popular ones being the tyre mounted loader. They are easily movable and fast. The tracked mounted wheel loader is harder on paved roads and other surfaces and hence not very effective to be used in all cases. However they are helpful in loading of sharp edged materials which would otherwise destroy a tyre mount machine. The basic advantage of tracked one over the other is the increased traction.

Skid Loader

A skid loader is another variant of construction machine and often referred as skid steer loader. This type is a heavy engine driven machine and has lift arms, in which a number of attachments can be fixed for varied construction applications. There are two basic features that make this loader different from other varieties. A skid loader is very compact. It can turn around in an area irrespective of its length and hence can be used in small space as well. And secondly, the lift arms are attached to the sides of the loader and hence the lifting can be done evenly on both sides. There are two varieties of these machines: with rubber track or with 4 wheels.

Backhoe Loader

Backhoe loader is another popular engineering vehicle used in the construction industry. This is a loader in the body of a tractor, having a bucket or shovel in the front and small backhoe in the back. This is basically small in size and hence preferred to be used in small construction projects.

How to Recognize Acid Reflux in Children

Acid reflux in children is a real cause for concern. It drives us frantic when our children are sick and scrunched up in pain. We suffer as much as they do… but how on Earth can we help?

First of all, we have to find out what’s wrong… and recognizing acid reflux in children can sometimes be tricky, especially if it’s a toddler.

If a child complains of a tummy ache or sore chest, you should narrow it down by asking a few questions such as:

  • Where does it hurt?
  • Does it burn?
  • Is your throat sore?
  • Is there a bitter taste in the back of your throat?

And so on. It’s probably acid indigestion if s/he reports a burning sensation in the chest or solar plexus area, especially if it’s accompanied by a nasty taste.

Dose the child with half a teaspoon of ‘Arm and Hammer’ bicarbonate dissolved in warm water. If the pain goes away you can be sure that it is heartburn and you can relax a little… Ordinary heartburn is uncomfortable, but it’s not dangerous. However, you should be on the alert for further symptoms indicating a more serious condition, namely GERD.

Symptoms of Acid Reflux in Children

Common symptom of acid reflux in children:

  1. Chest pain (burning sensation).
  2. Regurgitation after eating, followed by a nasty taste in the back of the throat.
  3. Pickiness about food or reluctance to eat.
  4. After dinner nausea.
  5. Sore throat.
  6. Occasional gagging or choking.
  7. Wheezing, bronchitis or asthma.
  8. Hacking cough accompanied by hoarseness.
  9. Poor sleep patterns.
  10. Excessive drooling — a condition known as ‘water brash’.
  11. Toothache.
  12. Bad breath.
  13. Poor growth patterns.

If one or more of the above are presented, it’s time to introduce a few dietary and lifestyle changes… not only for the child, but also for the entire family.

Recommended Lifestyle Changes

  • Replace fizzy drinks with non-carbonated fruit juices.
  • No strenuous playing or exercise for an hour after eating.
  • Serve smaller meals and include a decent mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack in their daily diet.
  • Serve the evening meal at least three hours before bedtime.
  • Make sure they drink plenty of bottled water.
  • No water during meals.
  • No chocolate or peppermint.
  • Elevate the head of the child’s bed by placing by 6-inch high blocks or bricks under the feet.

What if the Heartburn Persists?

If the heartburn persists or worsens after making these changes, your child may have GERD and you should see your doctor ASAP.

Also, a follow-up visit to the dentist is a must. Acid reflux can sometime cause the loss of dental enamel.

Specialized treatment is absolutely essential for the small percentage of babies and young children who develop GERD. These babies and youngsters are prone to other serious diseases if the condition is left untreated, such as:

  • Damage to the lungs. If gastric juices enter the windpipe, problems such as bronchitis, pneumonia and asthma are sure to follow. In the worse case scenario, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) could result.
  • Esophagitis. Gastric acid continuously splashing the walls of the food pipe causes inflammation that could lead to esophagitis.

If left untreated esophagitis becomes extremely painful making it almost impossible for the child to swallow.

Ulcers soon appear in the food pipe… followed by scarring. These scars pucker and shrink the walls of the esophagus causing it to narrow. These strictures can block the esophagus and prevent food from reaching the stomach.

If an ulcer ruptures, it could lead to life-threatening internal bleeding… Beware of black or bloody stools.

  • Barrett’s Esophagus is a fairly rare condition that occurs in a small percentage of sufferers. However, this condition is dangerous! If left untreated it could lead to a deadly form of cancer.

Your doctor may prescribe a proton pump inhibitor or an H2 blocker in order to control acid production. This may be necessary in order to allow the injured esophagus time to heal.

Make sure that your child does not take these medications for more than 8 weeks without further evaluation.

How to Choose a Mirror For a Bedroom

First question to think about is do you already have a wall mirror as part of your bedroom furniture? If yes, the question of adding a mirror may not need to be answered. If yes, but I also want another mirror, then the question remains – which one and how do I choose? Of course if you have no mirror then the question about do I want one is easy. So now that you know you want a mirror, try standing in the room and look around. What do you want to accomplish with the mirror? Even if you have a mirror you may want to add a full length mirror. Then the next question may be what style mirror, decorative wall mirror or perhaps a round mirror or square or rectangle. So many to choose from.

It seems like too many questions, but take them one at a time. What do you want to accomplish? Take an example of a rectangle shaped master bedroom with cherry wood finish furniture and a double mirror over the triple dresser. This wall mirror is quite adequate if you want to see yourself from the waist up. Pretty much this wall mirror shows you the same as the bathroom mirror. So again, what is the goal? If it were me I would say that you might like to see how you look from head to toe so consider alternatives.

A full length mirror comes in several styles – either a cheval or a leaner mirror. Oh yes, there is the simple hang on the back of the door mirror, but that is 100% practical and 0% decorative. Part of your decision process is just what to you want to accomplish. If just practical stop right here. If decorative then continue. The cheval full length mirror sits in a stand, It can be oval or rectangle. It can be taller or shorter. Frequently these are made with a wood frame and stand alone wherever you want to put it. In this bedroom I would suggest that it be placed near a window on the opposite side of the room from the dresser wall mirror. Each can provide a reflection of the other, as well as reflecting light. Now your goal is expanded to create reflection.

If your goal is to really create reflection, a leaner mirror is something to consider for the dramatic effect. Leaner mirrors are very large mirrors that sit on the floor and lean against the wall. If you take the same bedroom example then place the dresser and mirror at the far end of the rectangle room. Next, place the leaner mirror somewhere close to the entrance to the room. Imagine that your doorway is at the end of the room with the leaner mirror close to it. As you walk in the two mirrors reflect each other expanding the width and depth of the room. If the doorway is in the middle of the room placing the mirrors at the far end from each other would still catch your eye as you look right to left.

So by taking it a little at a time it appears that selecting the full length mirror and placing it are all tied to your goal. In the beginning you may have known one part of your goal, but by choosing style and placement you expanded it to understand that reflection/light and illusion of size are also involved.

One can buy any mirror and try to fit it to the room. Often we unconsciously pick exactly what will fit in the room. Equally as often one can sit there with a wall mirror or a decorative wall mirror with no place to put it that it looks or feels “right”. Asking yourself some simple questions while standing in the room often eliminates that “no place to put it” syndrome. It is the simple things that count when making a purchase. Just by answering some simple questions for yourself you can eliminate the confusion and know exactly what you want to place in the room.

Mural Painting – Three Ways Make Money Painting Murals

Mural painting is something that has been used throughout the ages by professionals and amateurs alike to publicly display their individual attitudes, a current theme or outlook on life. It is a colorful way to both express ourselves and the times we live in.

It seems that most mural artwork these days is more like abstract art and colorful cartoon-like styles. A good example is The Beatles “Yellow Submarine” style of artwork. This simplicity in design makes mural painting reachable for any artist who loves to paint.

Murals do not have to be real life types of scenes that only the most advanced artist can create. They can be vibrant, exciting works of color, attitude and style.

They can be murals for kids rooms. They can be artwork for public places like libraries and artwork that is suitable for teens or adults to have on their walls.

Anyone that can map out a wall so that his or her work will have proper form and be in the right proportion can do some nice mural work. Mapping out a large area using grid lines is half the battle. The other half is choosing good colors and design. And also using the right paint medium and then taking the time to do neat quality work.

Below are 3 popular types of murals that you can make money painting…

Murals on Stretched Canvas Frames – I like the idea of canvas frames because you can do all your work in your shop and then bring it to the customer when it is finished. You can even have one piece of art or theme carried out on three large canvas frames.

I have seen some nice abstract artwork done this way. The colors are bright and exciting and will look great in a nice home that has contemporary colors throughout the house. You could sell your work online or in consignment shops.

Wall Murals – this type of mural is usually more advanced when done in a nice home. Painters that do this type of work are generally more of an advanced artist than someone who could do an outside wall mural. That is just my opinion only because I think of exterior wall murals as something more along the lines of sign painting or the artwork done around construction sites in a downtown setting.

But I do know that there is some pretty cool and advanced stuff painted on the sides of buildings. To make money you could find jobs through interior decorators and through word-of-mouth.

Ceiling Murals – like wall murals, ceiling murals are usually the more intricate and advanced types of artwork. One type of ceiling painting that is popular although very few ever master it to its full potential is “star mural painting”. This is done using special formulated paints that glow in the dark. The paints usually glow all night long.

Professionally done star murals can mesmerize anyone whether they are art lovers, stargazers or just looking for something to jazz up their bedroom or game room ceiling. This type of art is not just for kids. After all, most kids would be happy with just plain old stick-on stars on their bedroom ceiling.

This type of art, if done by a professional muralist can even have astronomers in awe. Fortunately though, anyone can do an accurate star mural if you they have a few simple tools and know a few tricks of the trade.

You could find work through showing people sample posters. If you are already in peoples homes doing service work you could leave a poster with them with your name and phone number on it.

Cloth Insulated Wiring – A Shock and Fire Hazard

I’ve been an electrician in the Los Angeles area since 1979. In that time, I’ve worked on many older homes with wiring systems that were insulated with cloth that’s been varnished. Surprisingly, prior to 1950, many electrical systems relied on this type of insulation. Who would think to put flimsy cloth around a live electrical wire?! However, cloth doesn’t conduct electricity well, so it’s a good insulator. Before the age of plastics, cloth was the insulator of choice for electrical wiring.

Unfortunately, cloth insulation has a liability. As it ages, the cloth can disintegrate and expose bare wires. This can pose shock and fire hazards that modern insulation isn’t subject to.

Does Your House Have Cloth Wiring? Some cloth-insulated wiring systems can look like modern wiring. Was your house built prior to 1950? If so, it may well have cloth-insulated wiring. A qualified electrician can tell you with certainty.

Cloth Insulation Falls Off Wires. Cloth can become brittle over time and fall off the wires, sometimes in chunks. Bare wires pose the danger of shocking anyone who accidentally touches them or of causing fires if two bare wires touch or come too close.

Cloth-Insulated Electrical Systems May Be Ungrounded. This type of wiring system may not have been grounded. Grounding provides additional assurance that excess electrical charges will be routed out of your house and into the ground.

One benefit of grounding that many people are unaware of is that without grounding, low-level electrical charges can build up in your wires and can shorten the lives of computers, entertainment systems, refrigerators, microwaves – any device which includes electronic components like sensors and timers.

Even more importantly, grounding protects people and animals from shocks should an appliance or an electrical system malfunction.

Upgrade for Safety. Upgrading cloth-insulated wiring systems is recommended for fire safety, protection of modern electronics, and for the safety of your family against electrical shocks. If your electrical wiring was installed prior to 1950 and you think that it might have cloth insulation, call a licensed electrician to take a look. Many electricians will do an inspection for free and give you a free estimate for any upgrading that might be needed.

Beach Party Blast Checklist and Tips

Beach party is a real fun time. As every party needs proper planning, the beach party does too. You need to make a checklist in order to be sure that all your arrangements are perfect. I advise my clients to design their invitations with the background of a beach on a sunny day, which just seems really cool. You can buy colorful beach towels for your beach party as well as beach chairs according to the number of individuals you are inviting for the party. You can also take some helium balloons along with you for your beach party, which will add color to the eyes.

The other things that must be on your Beach Party checklist includes the pails and shovels for the kids so that they can enjoy collecting the sand and have fun making things out of it. You must also plan whether you will be staying for long at the beach and enjoying the bonfire as well, and for that reason you need to have all the necessary gear to light the fire. The outfits that you need to have for yourself must be really cool and loose in fitting in summer months and for that purpose the guys can wear swim trunks and Hawaiian shirt and girls can wear tank tops and shorts, depending on the choice.

Do not forget to have the sunscreen and sunglasses for your Beach Party, as it will protect you all from the scorching heat of the sun. You can plan a volleyball game at the beach so that all of the guests would love to have an exciting time. The beach party is incomplete without a beach grill and you can cook hot dogs and hamburgers on it, which your guests would love. If you are going to have a beach party on a hot sunny day, do remember that you need to have ice cubes to protect the food from getting rot such as salads etc. You can also take oranges and strawberries to keep you hydrated. All in all there are so many plans that you can add to make your party truly splendid. Have fun.

Hair 101 – Learn Some Basics Of Beauty School

Hair is a filamentous biomaterial (made of long chains of proteins, interacts with biological systems), that grows from follicles found in the dermis (middle layer) of the skin. It is composed mostly of keratin, which is a fibrous structural protein.

The entire human body except the palms of hands and soles of feet are covered in follicles that produce hair.

Each strand of hair is composed of three layers: The cuticle, medulla and cortex.

The cuticle is the outermost layer. It is composed of hard shingle-like cells that overlap each other. It is formed from dead cells that have turned into scales. It’s purpose is to protect the inner layers and give the hair strength. The shape the cuticle is in, determines how healthy your hair is. Healthy, shiny hair has a cuticle that is smoothed down. In damaged hair, the scales are raised up. You can smooth the cuticle down by using mild heat (like a towel wrapped around your head after you get out of the shower) or acidic based hair products (which is why a lot of hair products contain citric acid, etc.) Products high in alkaline do completely the opposite, and they raise the cuticle.

The next layer, in the middle, is the cortex, which makes up most of the hair. Melanin, which are color pigments, are located here in the cortex. They determine the color of the fiber of the hair, based on how many there are and what types they are. The shape of the hair follicle determines the shape of the cortex, which therefore determines if hair is straight, wavy, or curly. The cortex also holds water, and is packed with keratin protein. The process of coloring, perm/straighteners, or other styling all takes place in the cortex. The innermost layer is called the medulla, although some people (with fine hair) don’t have a medulla. It’s purpose is still unknown.

Hair color is generally classified by numbers 1-10. Level 1 is generally black, while level 10 is generally blonde.

All natural occurring hair colors are combined of percentages of the three primary colors: Red, Yellow and Blue. The two main chemicals found in permanent hair color are hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia (this is why color is damaging to your hair). Ammonia works by separating the cuticle scales. Peroxide helps oxidize pigments. When the hair color is penetrating into the cortex, it creates new pigment molecules, which are too big to come out of the cortex. This is why it is hard to take color out, once you put it in.

Bleaching your hair is a similar process. The peroxide softens and lifts the cuticle and then the bleach (lightener) disperses the color molecules that are in the cortex.

There are different level of peroxide. 5V and 10V (V=volume) are deposit only. You would use them to deposit a darker color (like black) and they work by only lifting the cuticle a tiny bit. 20V lifts up to 2 levels and deposits color. This is the most common peroxide used. 30V lifts up to 3 levels and 40V lifts up to 4 levels. You won’t see 40V being used often. It is usually only used with high-lift blondes and bleach, but it is very damaging on your hair and can burn the scalp, if used incorrectly.

Now, back to primary colors…

The three primary colors, like I said before, are red, blue and yellow. The three secondary colors are orange (red+yellow), green (blue+yellow) and violet (blue+red). Look at the way the color wheel is set up, for it is done this way on purpose. The color directly across from a color, is its complimentary color. Complimentary colors can either intensify or neutralize each other. For instance, when you bleach your hair, it usually ends up a pale yellow tone. To take away the yellow, you tone your hair with a violet based toner to turn it platinum-blonde. This is why a lot of “blonde” shampoos are purple. If your hair is orange, you should tone it with a blue based (ash) toner.

Toners are basically pigment to tone your hair after bleaching it. I highly recommend toning hair after bleaching it, because it looks more finished. There are so many different varieties of toners. You can tone hair ash blonde, platinum blonde, neutral, strawberry blonde, etc.

Let’s say your hair is bleached but you decide you want to color it back to brown. You have to re-pigment hair first. If you don’t, the color will turn out really ashy/greyish and faded looking. To re-pigment (fill) the hair, you want to use reddish/goldish colors that are one level lighter than the desired color. I used Paul Mitchell color and there are different formulas you can use depending on your target level. For PM, you would mix equal parts of the formula with 10V developer, and apply to damp hair. You process for 10 minutes and then apply the target color over the re-pigmentation formula (unless the target formula is cool/neutral, you would wipe off the re-pigmentation formula). Process the whole thing for 35 additional minutes.

Next, I will get into the different types of colors: Permanent colors can lift you hair up to 3 levels, generally and should last quite a while. High-lifts will lift the hair about 4 levels. Demi-permanent colors last about 4-6 weeks and will wash out eventually, leaving no roots. Temporary colors generally coat the hair shaft, without penetrating into the cortex, therefore not needing developer. If done right, these should even last a few weeks. The little old ladies use a color rinse a lot, which is a temporary color that will just wash out next time they wash their hair.

A very important thing to know about color, that most people don’t know, is that

COLOR WILL NEVER LIFT COLOR

This basically means that if your hair is dark brown, and you want to lift it to a light brown, you have to bleach your hair before it will take the color you want. I hear customers talk about this at work ALL THE TIME. They are confused because they tried to color their own hair lighter and but it just turned darker. Now consider everything I have taught you so far. If your hair already has dark color molecules in the cortex, and you put another color on top of it, all you are doing is depositing more color molecules into your cortex, hence the reason it is darker. Color will lift virgin hair, but not hair that is already colored.

Now I will tell you how perms and straighteners work. You always clarify before doing a perm, since that will help get build-up and medication out of the hair. While the hair is wet, you roll it into rollers (same width as the result curl will be). You then apply perm solution to each perm-rod and let it process. Perm solution is generally made of ammonium thioglycolate. The solution breaks down the disulfide bonds in your hair (which are the proteins that give your hair shape.) After you have processed, you rinse the perm solution out and then apply neutralizer. Neutralizer rebuilds the disulfide bonds in the new shape of the perm rod. Voila! Now you have curly hair! Straighteners typically do the same thing, except they make your hair straight instead of curly.

Well, I hope you learned something new and interesting about hair! There are so many other cool things to learn and I will write about them a later day!

Have you been to beauty school? I always love to hear new things, so if you would like to add anything to this article, please comment.

Functions And Applications Of DC Motors

The Direct Current motor or the DC motor helps to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. It is used in majority of household applications and electronic devices. It is widely used in CD players, computers, remote control airplanes, electric razors and so forth. Some of the most important parts of the Direct Current motor include the rotor, armature, stator, commutators with brushes. It is considered to be the simplest types of motor used in many of the electrical appliances. Compared to the AC motor, it is more controllable and powerful.

Working Procedure of DC Motors

A field of magnetism is created inside the device as it is equipped with magnets and electromagnetic windings. An armature is placed in between the south and north poles of the magnet inside the motor. When power is passed throughout the armature, the magnetic field interacts with the field generated by the armature. The opposite polarity causes the motor to turn.

There are basically three types of DC motors which include the stepper motor, the brushed and the brushless motors.

Stepper Motors: One of the most common varieties of Direct Current motors includes the stepper motor. These electrical brushless motors function on the basis of electromagnets that rotate the internal shaft. There are computer controlled stepper motors available in most of the online and offline shops. It is widely used in satellites, Floppy drives, CD drives, toys and scanners. Due to its functional operations, it can be controlled quite easily. But the stepper motors require an external controller as it includes low power.

Brushed Motor: The Brushed motors are considered to be the standard dc motors that can be powered by any type of Direct Current battery. It includes a split run commutator. However, these devices have certain drawbacks. The brushes and the commutator ring come into contact with one another which create friction and considerable damage to the ring and the brushes. Both the ring and the brushes will require constant replacements. The modern brushes are made of carbon which is durable compared to the copper wires. It also causes less friction. These devices are less expensive and easy to operate.

Urban History and Current Trend of Name Necklace

Hollywood stars and singers like Madonna, J.Lo, MC Hammer, and many more have made it more fashionable to wear name necklaces. While some think of it simply as a fashion statement, name necklaces also have its own unique history. A silver name necklace or one in gold have been around for a couple of decades and became increasingly popular especially in the 1980s due to the rise of urban and hip hop styles. However, taking a further look back in history, it was recorded the newly freed slaves changed their name. There was a need for African-Americans to change their name. In retrospect it spoke of a new beginning, a new identity. During those times, it was important to come up with a unique name to establish an identity.

When looking at a personalized necklace, one can get an idea or feel of the personality of the wearer. One publisher shared that mothers would try to save all the pennies that they could in order to afford a necklace or jewelry for their little one so that their little girls could feel that they were important and that they were someone special.

The trend amongst the African-American community was eventually absorbed by others in the community. On the total opposite side we can see that Sex in the City’s Carrie made it more increasingly popular and even called it “ghetto gold.” Even if it is worn by different members and backgrounds of the community, there is the stereotype and recognition that the style emerged from the African-American, Urban, Hip-hop community. The style is continuing to change as many wearers are also making personalized name necklace with adjectives.

Different name necklaces designs are available in the market today. It has become an increasingly popular gift idea and considerably fashionable to wear. A nameplate necklace can be worn to any event whether it is formal or informal. Like Carrie, she wore her necklace whether she donned on jeans and a t-shirt or a beautiful black dress.

Prices for personalized jewelry or a necklace with name come in different ranges. Some have already been made and can be found in malls like a children name necklace. However, it is possible to design one’s own to make it especially customized which gives the giver the avenue to display their take on the wearer. Things to consider is the size, color, chain length, and even how many diamonds one would like to put on it. Icons such as teddy bears and dolls can also be put on the necklace. Children name necklace can also be designed. This makes a very beautiful gift which could be an heirloom passed in the future.

Are You Thinking to Buy Nuwave Oven?

Although this kitchen appliance does not cost a bomb, some who are contemplating to buy Nuwave Oven may hesitate simply because questions remain on whether this purchase is worth it.

While I cannot vouch the truth of others’ views on this product, I can certainly share the experience I’ve had since I bought it about six months ago.

Why I Decided on It

One of the first things that caught my attention was the fact that the oven, for its size, does not occupy much space. I live in an apartment where the kitchen is nothing much to speak of. And yet, this is where I prefer to concoct some quick meals when I get back from work (usually about eight in the evenings).

How the Oven Helps

Despite the fatigue, I try my best to cook up healthy meals which are easy and quick to prepare. Most times, the Nuwave Oven comes into the picture. I no longer hesitate to copy down recipes if I stumble upon something I like, as long as I can prepare it using the oven.

I don’t really fry stuff anymore, preferring to grill. I hate to think about the amount of work frying, say chicken, involved. To elaborate, cleaning after frying over the stove was a total chore, not to mention the smell that permeates through my attached living room.

I never thought of it this way but having the oven gave me more time to really enjoy my food without the stress of massive cleaning after. You see, since I mostly cook for two, I can easily fit the main as well as side dishes (most times, vegetables) together in the oven and within a few minutes, voila – dinner is set!

Unfounded Concern

One of my concerns before I buy Nuwave Oven was whether I needed to buy additional utensils to be used when cooking with this oven.

I need not. I made use of those Pyrex that I had and what’s more, sometimes, I just pop frozen food in their original foil trays if I were in a hurry. I felt that I should not be doing this but hey, there are instances when time is not on my side. Yes, it is reportedly safe to use foil in this oven but I try not to make it a norm (especially after I read something that says excessive use of foil can lead to cancer).

When using any oven for that matter, a little effort in using the right utensils pays. And for me, this oven has been good…so far.

As stated above, I can’t vouch for whatever others have said about this oven, but for its price, I feel it’s really a bargain. My only regret is that I had not gotten it sooner.

What You Have To Know About The Zojirushi NS-VGC05 Micom

Let’s talk about the Zojirushi NS-VGC05 Micom. If you haven’t heard of Zojirushi brand rice cookers before, listen up. These rice cookers come with a little elephant on the side (Zojirushi literally means “elephant brand” in Japanese) and have become famous for making high quality rice thanks to “fuzzy logic” technology. The NS-VGC05 Micom is a 3-cup rice cooker and warmer that’s perfect for dorm rooms and live-in couples. Don’t let the model number intimidate you – this cooker fits comfortably into a small kitchen and has a reasonable cooking time.

The word “Micom” stands for micro computerized. This means that the Zojirushi NS-VGC05 Micom doesn’t work like simple rice cookers that will cook to a certain length and temperature regardless of how much rice or water you put in. Fuzzy logic allows a device to work out degrees of rice and water based on weight. That elevates it above a mere hot plate – it’s like having someone standing over the stove for you every time you cook!

Anyone who has experienced rice cooking knows that it’s best to serve the rice up as soon as it’s ready to keep it from getting tough. But the Zojirushi NS-VGC05 Micom has a keep warm setting, which does a great job of keeping it fluffy for a while if you have a previous engagement. If you don’t have a lot of time to spend on cooking, but still want perfect results, you can set it to start cooking your rice while you’re at work and enjoy it when you get home.

This is one of the most versatile cookers out there. It doesn’t have a slow cooker function like some of the larger models, but it can also cook Asian style porridge, tofu, and can even bake a little cake inside of its thick spherical inner cooking pan. If you want to stick to rise, it has rinse-free, and quick cooking settings, along with a spatula, a couple of measuring cups, and a book of charming Japanese recipes. You’ll never get bored making rice with this cooker! Finally, it has an easy-to-read LCD control panel which includes a clock and timer function for cooking timed recipes.

It’s important to note that this model doesn’t handle brown rice that well — you’ll need the NS-LAC05 for that. Also, once in a while the collected moisture from cooking will drip into the bowl if you’ve left a finished bowl on warm for long enough. But those are really minor flaws. Overall, the NS-VGC05 Micom has what it takes to cook your rice perfectly ever time, and the compact size guarantees it’ll never be an elephant in the room.
