Tips For Choosing a Good DJ Laser Light For the Home Or Mobile Disco

Adding a DJ laser light to your disco setup, bedroom DJ or club venue is something well worth considering. A laser light creates stunning visual effects that enhance your music and make people stand in amazement with the patterns and light strobes that they produce.

You do not need to spend a lot of money to get very good disco laser light as they are becoming increasingly cheaper and are now great value for money. It is very important when you are trying to create the right impression with your DJ or mobile disco and adding good effect lights and more importantly a good laser light actually takes you to a different level and allows you to stand apart and above the other mobile DJ’s with their few patterned lights and light boxes that are the norm.

A laser light is effectively a very simple device that converts sound into electrical pulses and then it shows this as pulses of light through a small laser head. Most lasers include an inbuilt microphone which is used for picking up the sound of your music and then taking the low frequency (bass) from the sound input which it then converts light pulses and into a lazer light show.

There are different types of laser units but the most common are the red or green laser light, and more recently multi-colour head units that can have 2 or more colours. There is not a great deal of difference when it comes to choosing a colour of laser as both red and green produce similar results and with a normal powered laser (30mw) then you can select on just personal preference.

It is common on a DJ laser light to incorporate a connection provision to an external DMX controller which is a device to allow multiple lighting effects to be connected in-line and then gives you the advantage of a synchronised light show with even programmable patterns that each light follows. If you ever wondered how nightclubs create their fantastic light effects with 4 or more lights following the same patterns on the dance floor then you now know that they are using a DMX controller.

DJ laser lights are a brilliant addition to any bedroom DJ setup and you can have you own amazing home laser show that will leave your friends amazed. However, do not think that your laser will only be suited for a small room as most cheap laser units will be enough to fill a small hall or pub venue which is another good reason to get one as you can take them out for your DJ playing nights.

You will also find that most big nightclubs will have at least one laser light and normally they are commercial units that are water cooled and capable of creating stunning visual effects and animations with 1000’s of metres coverage. They will combine the use of a smoke machine to further enhance the visual effects of their lasers and the smoke produces light refraction and you can seem waves and streams of light rather than the beams – so a smoke machine is recommended but certainly not essential.

These days you will be able to find a big array of different laser lighting on the market, we usually recommend Chauvet laser heads. Your local DJ store will usually stock several makes, however they can steer you towards the most expensive models so buyer beware. You can obtain some good discounts and great deals on disco lighting however you would be advised to do some online research to get the very best prices.

How To Get Rid Of Mosquitoes In Your House & Yard?

There are a lot of times it may so happen that the presence of too many mosquitoes will create havoc. Mosquitoes, if not controlled properly, could lead to the onset of various diseases. So, you have to be careful when it comes to mosquito treatment.

Here are some of the possible methods which can be used to ensure that you can keep your home clean and free of pests and mosquitoes.

All Natural Barrier

If you want to choose a green alternative such that you do not hamper the environment, you should choose the all natural barrier treatment. In such cases, the chemical to be used for mosquito treatment is ideally made of essential oils and so it is free from negative side effects on the environment. It has to be applied every fortnight for the best benefits.

Event sprays

If you want to completely remove the mosquitoes as you may as have a big event or even guests coming to your home, you can choose to spray the right chemical solution. The technician will come to your place and they will spray the whole area.

The solution is such that it will kill all existing mosquitoes and it will prevent any new ones from entering it. The spray is mostly odorless to ensure that your place doesn’t smells of something peculiar.

Seasonal packages

If you live in an area which is prone to mosquitoes, you may need mosquito treatment quite often. In such cases, you can choose seasonal packages. In these packages, the technicians will come to your place at periodic intervals, survey the condition and use the apt solution. As you are paying for repeat services, you are likely to get a discount on the complete package.

Chemicals

Sometimes in a few cases where you do not care of how you would damage the environment and you really need an extremely budget solution, you may ask to spray some chemicals. There are chemicals which can kill the mosquitoes, but they will impact the environment. Also, you should opt for this solution when you are not going to stay at that place instantly as the chemical can be harmful for the human body as well. This is the least preferred method.

These are some of the different ways by which you can get an effective mosquito treatment. You should not take the problem of mosquitoes lightly as it can create major impact and will lead to significant problems as well.

You have to ensure that you leave no stone unturned when it comes to getting your place rid of all possible types of mosquitoes. They have the potential to create a lot of diseases and this is surely not the kind of situation you would like.

Warehouse Cooling – From Misting Fans to Evaporative Coolers for Comfort, Safety, and Productivity

Warehouse cooling could be the best investment you can make for productivity of workers…and your bottom line. In fact, in a NASA study on the effects of heat on workers output, they found that workers in a 75 degree space were 29% more productive than those at 90 degrees, and work accuracy improved by 300 percent! Fewer water breaks are necessary, morale is higher, and fewer mistakes are made. Not to mention the savings on lost time when workers go out with heat related injuries.

Options range from misting fans to evaporative coolers, to a tool you never thought you could use indoors…high pressure misting systems! And there are more tools out there. But a properly planned warehouse cooling system can be an easy investment that pays big dividends.

A variety of products exist that can very effectively cool large spaces or spot cool small ones…depending on your specific needs.

  • Misting fans are the ultimate warehouse cooling machine for large spaces. These misting fans can produce up to 11000cfm of wind. High pressure misting rings are added to the face of the fan. The breeze combined with the evaporative cooling power of mist can cool the space by up to 35 degrees if used properly. The result is an awesome warehouse cooling tool that can cool up to 3000 square feet! The best strategy is to put them in opposite corners, or all 4 corners of the warehouse, and mount them up high. Normally one misting pump can run all 4 misting fans.

  • Evaporative Coolers can be great for spot cooling or warehouse cooling for smaller spaces. Medium sized evaporative coolers resemble the 4×4 swamp coolers you have probably seen. Evaporative coolers can come with an oscillating spout that effectively spreads cool air over a greater area. Those are better spot cooling in assembly areas or on loading docks, where 500 square feet or less needs spot cooling. Another nice choice is a 4 sided model that blows cool air from all 4 sides. Place these in the center of a smaller work area for spot cooling of everyone around the machine.

  • Misting Systems can also be used for warehouse cooling where open doors or vents allow hot air to pour in. On loading docks especially, a lot of hot air can pour into the warehouse. This is where high pressure misting systems can be a big help. The strategy is to hang a “curtain of mist” across every door. The warm air coming in is evaporative cooled as it comes through. And with high pressure misting, the water actually evaporates into the air, so nothing gets wet or slippery down below. Each dock door actually functions as a large evaporative cooler! Using the same misting pump, lines can be run across every dock door, every inflow vent, and any other openings in the building. Misting fans can be run off of the same fan as well for additional cooling. Out with the hot, in with the cool. The results can really be amazing. And workers loading and unloading trucks can work with greater comfort and safety near the doors.

These are just a few of the common solutions to warehouse cooling needs. With a little research and planning, you should be able to make huge improvements in the efficiency, safety and productivity of all of your workers…and your warehouse facility as a whole. It can be the best investment you’ll make in your operation.

How To Resolve CFNetwork DLL Errors On Your Computer – "CfNetwork Is Missing" Error Fix

CFNetwork.dll is a file used by Apple software to help control various network functionality in their software. The likes of iTunes, MobileMe and other important Apple products all use this file to help your computer run as smoothly and reliably as possible with the large amounts of data that needs to be transferred through the Internet. Despite cfnetwork.dll being a highly important file, it’s continually causing a large number of problems & errors, leading your PC to run with a variety of errors. To fix this problem, it’s recommended that you follow the steps in this tutorial to fix the issue.

The error you’ll likely see caused by cfnetwork.dll will be in this format:

  • “cfnetwork.dll Not Found”
  • “This application failed to start because cfnetwork.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
  • “Cannot find C:Program FilesCommonapplemobile device supportbincfnetwork.dll”

The main cause of this file’s errors is down to the way in which your computer will be unable to correctly read the settings and options it requires to correctly process the file’s contents. Because numerous Apple software programs use the file to run, it’s likely that the software has either corrupted the file, or there is some other issue with the settings of Windows which is preventing it from being able to run correctly.

The way to fix this error is to first reinstall any Apple software that you have on your PC. Apple software products are highly popular, but have a tendency to either damage their own files, or “outdate” themselves – causing a large number of errors as a result. The easiest way to fix this is to first click onto “Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs” and then remove any Apple programs that are on your PC. After that, you should then download the latest version of the programs you just removed and install them again.

It’s recommended that you also clean out a part of Windows called the “registry”. This is a large database which keeps all the files, settings and options secured for your computer, and is where your PC will look to load the likes of your desktop wallpaper and your most recent emails. The registry is where a large list of DLL files is kept, so that any software program can correctly load the files they require… but it’s often the case that this list will become damaged or corrupted, leading your computer to show the errors that you’re seeing. To fix this problem, you can download a registry cleaner, install it and then let it scan your system to fix any of the problems your computer may have.

How To Protect Carpet In A Rental Or Dorm Room

Carpet damage often occurs through unexpected accidents that happen in heavily used areas of a room. When wall-to-wall carpeting is installed in a rental home, apartment, or dorm room, the occupants are responsible for keeping this flooring safe from all harm. If damages occur, the renter or lease holder is often responsible for paying to have the floor coverings cleaned, fixed, or replaced.

How to protect carpet in a rental or dorm room:

Kitchen: As Isaac Newton watched a piece of ripe fruit drop from a tree to splatter on the ground, he may have briefly thought about buying some washable area rugs for his kitchen before realizing that he had discovered gravity. Small woven mats and spot rugs have been used for centuries in food preparation areas. Inexpensive small floor coverings can catch all types of spills before they stain the rental carpets.

Washable rugs for the kitchen are found in many wonderful colors, shapes, and patterns. Themed kitchen throw rugs are sometimes sold in sets that provide a half-circle rug for the sink area, a stove-front sized rug to catch grease splatters, and a walkway rug that can fit along your main food preparation counter. Rug sets for the kitchen are sold for prices that often make them very nice housewarming gifts for a person with a new home.

Entertainment Areas: High-quality designer area rugs come in all shapes and sizes. This type of a floor covering can enhance the appearance of television or computer locations that host users every day. Coffee, tea, and some fruit juices can act as natural permanent dyes when this liquid comes into contact with flooring materials. Spills often happen in front of sofas, beside end tables, and where computer gaming is taking place.

Hallways & Stairs: The passageways in our homes often receive the most foot traffic. Halls, stairways, and the doors that lead outside are all floor areas that renters should try to protect. Area rugs come in long sizes for hallways, small stair-step covers, and in waterproof versions that are just right for entry floors. It is possible to choose passageway rugs that are made with plain colors, classy prints, or wild brilliant patterns.

Dining Spaces: Elegant area rugs are often purchased to fit under the dining table to protect the rental carpet or hardwood floors. Flat weaves are often chosen so that chairs will slide easily on top of these dining space rugs. Inexpensive oriental-pattern rugs and area rugs with busy prints are favorite choices for families with children. Patterned area rugs hide little stains better than solid shades of floor coverings.

Bedrooms: Soft and thick bedside rugs are often strategically placed to accommodate the shoe processes. As dirty shoes are taken off at night, a soft throw rug can feel very soothing to your tired bare feet. However, these very nice feeling shag-style area rugs are also providing a covering that is catching unwanted dirt from the shoes as they are put on or removed. Bedside area rugs are often chosen to be machine washable.

Age-appropriate bedroom rugs for small children, pre-teens, and teenagers come in some very fun styles. It is possible to find area rugs that offer games, room-sized rugs in wild colors, and children’s rugs that are devoted to favorite pastimes and activities. Teenagers often enjoy area rugs that are devoted to sports, music, or their important school mascot or colors. Area rugs for teens can come in unusual shapes and color patterns.

Pets: Wall-to-wall carpet damage from pets happens in the finest of homes. Even well-behaved pets can suddenly have a moment of destructive playfulness or a forgetful moment on the way to the potty box. To protect your feather-babies, fur-kids, and lizard-people from creating floor problems in a rental home, cover your rental carpets, hardwood floors, and vinyl floors with room-sized area rugs. Food dish area rugs and sleeping mats can also be used to help your pet to feel at home on your rental floors.

Ethylene Oxide Plant Explosion Lesson Learned

An external fire is one of the most hazardous situations that can occur in an ethylene oxide (EO) plant because of the potential for EO decomposition. Even with good water spray systems and well-insulated equipment, flame impingement from an external fire can increase piping and vessel wall temperatures to EO decomposition temperature in a short time period. If this happens, an internal explosion can occur.

Pump Seal Leak Fire

An ethylene oxide pump seal leak is always a significant incident because of personnel exposure concerns. However, if a pump seal leak ignites, the results can be catastrophic.

A European ethylene oxide production plant had an EO pump seal leak that was ignited by contact with hot pump parts. The flame from the pump seal fire impinged on an uninsulated minimum flow return line, causing evaporation of the EO in that line. Continued heat input from the flame impingement resulted in a decomposition in the minimum flow line. The decomposition reaction propagated into the EO purification column reflux drum, where an explosion occurred. The reflux drum and its associated distillation column were destroyed. This incident resulted in four fatalities. The plant was heavily damaged and out of operation for four months.

Fire Around Distillation Column

An ethylene oxide producer in the US had a rupture of an EO compressor cylinder. This resulted in a large fire, which engulfed the EO distillation column. The resulting temperature increase on the surface of the column and in the contained EO resulted in an internal explosion and significant damage.

Flange Fire while Plant was Down

A European ethylene oxide producer experienced a flange leak in the EO distillation section. The plant had been shut down, but still contained an inventory of EO. The flange leak resulted in a fire and the flame impinged on a process line containing EO. The heat caused an EO decomposition reaction to be initiated in the line. The decomposition propagated down the line and into a distillation column. The column head was torn off and thrown about 100 feet. Large and small parts of the column jacket were scattered over a 2000-foot radius. Only 7 minutes elapsed between the start of the unit fire and the column explosion.

Important concerns regarding pumps and compressors in EO service are

  • the potential for high temperatures if mechanical energy is not dissipated and
  • the potential for a fire due to seal leaks.

A good example of failure to remove mechanical energy is a blocked pump discharge. The two incidents described here are good examples of the results of operating an ethylene oxide pump dead headed. The pump seal leak fire is a good example of the potential consequences of a seal leak fire.

Decomposition in Reflux Pump Propagates to Reflux Drum and Tower

A European ethylene oxide producer had been having problems with the EO purification column reflux pump over-speeding. There were also instrumentation problems with the level controller on the reflux drum, and the incident was triggered by the reflux control valve failing closed. The reflux pump operated dead headed against the level control valve, causing temperature in the pump to rise, vaporizing EO and causing a decomposition reaction. The decomposition propagated through the pump suction line into the reflux vessel where an explosion occurred. Shortly afterward the EO purification column exploded. This explosion resulted in four fatalities. The plant was heavily damaged and out of operation for four months

Ethylene Oxide Decomposition in Blocked-in Pump

A US ethylene oxide producer used high-speed centrifugal pumps to feed EO to two ethylene glycol units. The plant had a common spare feed pump for the two glycol units. The spare pump was typically kept cleared of EO, pressured up with 200 psig nitrogen and left with the suction and double discharge valves blocked in.

A small amount of EO leaked through two blocked discharge valves into the pump. An electrical system malfunction caused the high-speed centrifugal pump’s electric motor to start. The pump ran blocked in for approximately 10 minutes until the seal area of the pump reached EO decomposition temperature and the pump exploded.

The decomposition of the 0.6 lb. of EO generated over 450,000 pounds of force and caused the failure of twelve,3⁄4″ stainless steel nuts and bolts. The upper part of the vertical centrifugal pump and the motor (approximately 1000 lb.) were launched 60 feet in the air. The pump and motor landed on the discharge piping of another EO feed pump that was operating at 750 psig, pumping 80 gpm of EO Fortunately the piping did not fail.

How to Flirt with Men – Bravery Not Required

A posting recently appeared on craigslist titled, “What am I doing wrong?” The writer is an articulate, 25 year old living in New York City. Although she is stunning and classy, she is single. And she wonders why. Why are some women living lavish lifestyles so “plain”? How does someone not as “smart” or “pretty,” marry an investment banker and live wealthily ever after while she who knows how to charm men with her beauty and intelligence, remains alone?

The answer lies in simple interest. Build instant attraction and you’ve got him. Fail to engage and create immediate rapport and you’ve lost. Teach yourself how to flirt with men using the SOFTEN flirting technique for women: smiling, with your body in an open stance, lean in slightly forward, touch him lightly on the arm or leg, hold your eye contact with him just a little bit longer than usual and nod slightly in agreement. The technique can be used by anyone regardless if you’re outgoing or shy.

S – Smile

O – Open Stance

F – Forward Lean

T – Touch

E – Eye Contact

N – Nod

As much as 80% of first impressions come from body language -posture, facial expression, eye contact, and gestures. Your body speaks as loud or louder than words so you want to teach your body how to flirt with men and how to charm men so it does most of the work for you. The SOFTEN flirting technique for women is body in action. Here’s what it looks like:

S – Smile. Smile at him. Your smile is one of the strongest tools you have in meeting and attracting a man. The smile’s powerful effect helps you to appear warm, friendly and open to conversation.

O – Open Stance. Face your body towards him, move your hands apart and expose your wrists to make you appear honest, available and open to approach. The way you position your body tells others how available you are to interact and how interested you are in what they have to say.

F – Forward Lean. With feet pointing in his direction, lean in towards him. Leaning forward is a sign of attraction and indicates your desire to engage with him. But only lean slightly, too far can indicate aggression.

T – Touch. Touch him lightly on the arm or leg. Touching expresses caring. The physical contact signals that you are open to emotional contact.

E – Eye Contact. Look into his eyes, holding eye contact slightly longer than usual. Use your eyes to express interest. The most interesting people are the most interested people.

N – Nod. Nod slightly in agreement when he is speaking. In conversation, we signal our understanding and encouragement non-verbally through nodding and affirmative vocal sounds.

Teach your body the SOFTEN flirting technique for women and the next time you meet a great guy, you will instinctively know how to flirt with men and how to charm men. Men love it, you’ll see.

Ballet Technique Problems – Sickling and Rolling of the Feet and Ankles

Sickling and rolling are terms that are often used in ballet dancing to describe problems with the alignment of the ankle. Many ballet pupils don’t have a clear understanding of this problem, and therefore battle to correct it.

Another word for sickling is supination. Supination or sickling is when you are standing on the outsides of your feet, and the foot has that same curled in look when it is pointed. When the dancer does a releve, their outer ankle bone is pulled into misalignment.

Pronation is the opposite of supination. This is the rolling in of the feet and allowing the arch to drop towards the floor. When the pronating dancer points her foot the inner heel is pushed forward, and this is often referred to as winging the foot. When the ballet dancer does a releve, the ankles also tilt inwards towards the middle line of the body.

Most people think that the ankles are to blame for these two faults, but the ankle joint only points and flexes. The bones in the tarsus create any additional motion and the weaknesses are usually found here.

It is easier for ballet teachers to spot pronation or the rolling in of the ankles when the pupil is standing. The muscles that are used to lift the arch need to be trained to do their job correctly. Supination is easier to spot when the ballet dancer goes up into a releve, as there is more flexibility in the tendons and muscles on the outer part of the foot.

Sickling is very common in younger dancers, as they haven’t developed sufficient strength yet to hold the muscles of the foot in place when lifting their legs.

Sickling and rolling is difficult to correct. It is easier to get it right if it is addressed early in the dancers life. Pupils of six or seven can be taught to feel the difference between a sickled foot and correct alignment. They will need to be constantly reminded for as long as it takes for correct alignment to become a habit.

Some dancers try to point their foot so hard that it sickles. These dancers need to relax their muscles while you physically place the foot into the correct position.

Slow rises with the feet in correct alignment will also help to correct the problems. Strengthening exercises with exercise bands also help to strengthen the weaker muscles.

If you have young children to correct it is best to use imagery. Maybe you could tell them that fairies live under the arches of their feet, and if they let their arches drop the fairies will be squashed.

If a dancer turns her feet out too much, her alignment will also be effected. The feet will then roll in and place strain on the knees. A dancer must never be made to force her turnout, as this can lead to injuries developing later in life.

Keeping good alignment in the feet is very important while dancing, as problems in the lower body will work their way up and can cause injuries in other body parts like the hips and the lower back, that have had to over compensate.

Vandwellers: Where to Stay Warmer in the Winter and Cooler in the Summer

First and foremost if you are a mobile vandweller and can go to warmer areas for the winter and cooler places for the summer, it will make a huge difference for your comfort level and greatly reduce your energy costs and needs for related supplies. So following the seasons and climates of specific areas is a huge advantage for the mobile dweller. Following are some specific areas to consider to stay warmer in the winter cooler in the summer.

Where to go to stay Warmer in the Winter:

In the South head to the coast of GA or SC or down into Florida for your warmer temps, or over on the Gulf Coast (said to be warmer) check out the Florida panhandle or other areas along the coast including many southern and coastal Texas areas. Obviously South and Central Florida also have warmer temperatures. I personally was raised in South Florida and many choose to winter there. However, not all areas/cities in South FL are vandweller or self-built camper/vehicle friendly. So just check the area out ahead of time to make sure they have legal overnight parking places in addition to the paid RV Campgrounds, such as Walmarts, travel centers, casinos (the last time I was there, there were no casinos but just in case), where overnight parking is legal.

There are many areas in the West to go and they are generally quite RV/Vandweller friendly in most areas. Topping the list is most of Arizona, including Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson. Many of its neighboring states are also much warmer than other areas of the USA, and again many areas are RV/Vandweller friendly for the most part.

Much of the CA coast is warmer, however many if not most of these areas are not RV and/or Vandwelling friendly. As a matter of fact, these include many of the areas with active laws against people sleeping in their vehicles (including RVs) unless they are in campgrounds or other areas as defined by their local ordinances. Again this is a personal choice. It may work out fine for you.

Where to go to stay Cooler in the Summer:

In the south, check out Banner Elk, NC! Banner Elk is a very scenic mountain area obviously in the higher elevations. When other areas are in the 90s and up with major humidity, Banner Elk is most often in the 70s and even in its hottest heat waves, Banner Elk’s summer days rarely ever top mid 80s. However, as is often a factor in mountainous areas, it is important to consider that there are some areas of Banner Elk it may be difficult to get a cell or WiFi signal. For a little more populated area just a few miles down the road and typically 3 to 5 degrees F warmer check out the cool little college town in scenic and somewhat eclectic Boone NC.

In the Northern Central states, check out cooler temps in WI and MN around Lake Michigan and further west around Lake Superior in WI and Northern MN. The most perfect summer weather area is in the North Pacific, from Port Angeles all the way up to Vancouver Canada. Wonderful temperate weather and bordering Olympic National Park and right on the beautiful Pacific Ocean! It just doesn’t get a whole lot better weather and beauty wise! Never again will I “full-time” in a hot humid area! ~See ya down the road!

Blessings for Your Journeys, Brenda

Warnings Unheeded, Disasters Incurred – A Warning From Omni Magazine, Circa 1989

Omni is a defunct monthly magazine whose writing style and articles were a combination of scientific fact, technology and science fiction. It was in print from 1978 until 1995. An article from its January, 1989 issue was entitled, “Near Future Potential For Massive Terrorism on U.S. Soil” and was written by G. Gordon Liddy, a character infamous for his Watergate shenanigans. The article is written as a fictional memo to the President of the United States, summarizing the cause and impact of a multifaceted terror campaign on U.S. soil.

Given that the article was written about twelve years before the 9-11 attacks, it is interesting to see how Liddy saw the future unfolding. While he vastly overestimated the impact that the Soviet Union and South American influences would have in a terror filled future, he was pretty accurate in many respects:

– “As it is, we have had to ground the U.S. civil commercial aviation fleet for an indefinite time.” Just as Bin Laden saw it, the country’s aviation system could be used not only to kill Americans but also be used to disrupt the economy. Although it did not last as long as Liddy predicts, the entire U.S. aviation system was grounded for several days after the 9-11 attacks, inflicting further economic damage on the country beyond the actual attacks themselves.

– “Unfortunately, all major north-south railroad traffic in the United States funnels through two choke points: a single strategic railroad bridge over the Potomac River between Washington D.C. and Virginia and the rail complex at Cincinnati. On the night of August 2nd, terrorist-planted pressure mines took out the Potomac Bridge and the Cincinnati choke point was severed by the use of an expert combination of low order and high order explosives.” Given some of the early information being learned form the computers and data taken in the Bin Laden raid, it is clear the Bin Laden also had the same thoughts as Liddy as far as terror attacks on the nation’s rail systems.

– “While there are different estimates of the number of international terrorist groups, here we are including the PLO, the IRA, the Japanese Red Army, and French Action Directe, and Islamic Jihad.” Although 9-11 was still twelve years away, Liddy did correctly identify a type of Islamic jihad that carried out the attacks on 9-11.

– “The entire Louisiana attacking force (of terrorists) was recruited citizens of Communist African nations…and that groups of blacks could pass unnoticed in Louisiana. This led to the white commanding officers ignoring the input of competent black police in the South, who detected the presence of black aliens immediately and submitted their field intelligence reports on this matter…but when they reported them to their white superiors they were either ridiculed or ignored.”

Much like 9-11, in Liddy’s view, FBI field law enforcement officers correctly recognized various threats and reported their findings and theories which were ignored by their superiors. The Phoenix FBI office, among other offices, reported numerous accounts of suspicious activity by people that eventually ended up hijacking the planes on 9-11, accounts that were never acted on by their superiors.

– “The how is relatively simple. The terrorists were outfitted with appropriate clothing, alias documentation, and pocket money and infiltrated into the nation with the most porous border on earth.” Looks like our border security was just as bad back in 1989 as it is now.

– “Even without resorting to such high tech weapons, it is relatively straightforward to get a standard-construction gun through the airport magnetometers and roentgen machines, which are a joke.” Given that the 9-11 terrorists also used low tech weaponry (box cutters) and easily got them through airport security, it appears that Liddy foresaw this possibility also.

– “The people expect their government to do something about it: to fix the problem and punish those responsible. And the American people are not patient. Their faith in what the Founding Fathers wrought is ebbing fast.” Sounds like this applies today, not only to terror attacks but to the overall incompetency of government and the political class to fix any problem, not just terrorism. Another good prediction from Liddy.

– “Gradually, over the past few administrations, as Congress passed law after law for the people and the executive branch to follow but excepted Congress itself (the Civil Rights acts, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the minimum wage laws, etc.) and as Congress continued to act as if the rest of the laws of the land did not apply to them…” Sound familiar, 22 years after Liddy made his prediction?

Seems like Liddy got most of the general concepts right relative to terrorism and 9-11 even if he was a little off on some of the details. He also predicts terror attacks on the country’s electrical power grid and the country’s natural gas distribution network, all of which, when combined with a grounded aviation system and a crippled rail system, results in all types of other crises including food shortages and spoilage, sanitation problems, martial law, etc.

For the most part, the political class has not made any of these other catastrophes less likely since 1989, that our power grid, transportation networks, our gas and oil pipelines, etc are just as vulnerable today as when Liddy made these predictions.

A related side article by Peter Kornbluh also has some pretty accurate quotes and predictions:

  • The enemy no longer wears a uniform, drives a tank, or man’s a battleship.
  • He is a terrorist who takes hostages in the Middle East and plots attacks inside the United States.
  • The evolution from conventional to unconventional warfare does not mean that the world will be a safer place.
  • “We can expect that CIA covert paramilitary and political operations…will continue in every country where U.S. policy makers arrogantly believe they can shape events.
  • The proliferation of U.S. intervention in low-level conflicts around the globe will not advance U.S. national interests in peace and security.

Looks like both Liddy and Kornbluh got the future right. Too bad that the political class and the government it runs did not get it right and make the proper anti-terror defensive plans, based on their insights. Maybe if they had read the article, 3,000 Americans would not have died on 9-11. Maybe we would not find our selves having fought a useless war in Iraq and are probably fighting a losing war in Afghanistan.

But should we expect anything different from these career politicians? Michael Lewis, a typical Wall Street type, foresaw the coming Great Recession, driven by bad securities from the real estate industry, and made a lot of money off of his insights besides writing a successful book describing what he foresaw. However, no one in the political class or the agencies responsible for economic oversight (e.g. SEC, Treasury Department, Federal Reserve, Congressional committees) saw the coming economic collapse.

In 1999, Wall Street trader Harry Markopolos wrote to the SEC and stated: “Madoff Securities is the world’s largest Ponzi scheme.” However, the scheme went on for many more years and robbed many more Americans of their life savings before the political class and the government ever got around to doing what Markopolos did many years before.

The list goes on and on. There are many smart Americans in this country but it seems like their input never gets appreciated and used. Whether it is preventing terror attacks or financial crises, the political class always seems to be late, always coming up with an ineffective, expensive solution. Heck, Liddy gave them the terror blueprint for 9-11 twelve years before it happened and they still could not get it right. Lewis and Markopolos gave them the financial scandal and economic collapse blueprint years before they actually appreciated what they were being told. Liddy told them in 1989 that our borders were insecure and 22 years later they are still unsecure. The list goes on and on.

That is why we need to make substantial changes to our political processes so that we finally get people into office that can anticipate crises and problems and then have the problem solving skills to attack would-be problems before they become crises. Many steps are needed to improve and overhaul our political processes, whether it is campaign finance reform, term limits, Congressional committee accountability, primary election reforms, etc. The current way we do things politically in this country is not working. Even with ample warning, disasters still hit us constantly because of our politicians’ incompetency or complacency.

We need to get to a point where warnings are heeded and disasters are averted. Until then, we will continue to be amazed that 22 year old magazines are more accurate and timely than today’s politicians in Washington D.C.

Ten Easy Steps to Development! Then Why Is It So Hard to Do So?

1. Adopt an effective policy matrix in which to prioritise the allocation of finite resources.

Such prioritization is best guided through a broadly based participatory process of program identification and selection, a full appreciation of the resource envelope within which prioritization choices must be made, and by the effective monitoring of measurable outcome indicators. For most developing countries the focus is on economic growth and poverty reduction incorporating strategies for meeting the Millennium Development Goals agreed with the UN General Assembly. This widely adopted approach may be largely reflective of the requirements for participation in the IMF’s Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) program. However, as countries have progressed there has been a corresponding evolution of country strategies to reflect more private sector promotion, infrastructure development and economic growth. However, in a number of countries there are only limited considerations made on realistic sector resource constraints to facilitate meaningful budgetary processes in respect of public investments. Some argue that without significant fiscal space, it is near impossible to establish a meaningful policy matrix. Often, in the case of developing countries the monitoring of budgetary outputs and outcomes is weak or non-existent. Given these observations, it should not be surprising that there is little coordination between sector plans, and that the investment programs serves as much a laundry list as it does a rational theme for meeting development objectives within a clear consistent national development framework.

2. Implement an effective budget planning and preparation process which has a strong bottom-up dimension, participation from a broad variety of stakeholders and is fully cognizant of the relationships between budgetary resource allocations and outcomes. A budgetary process that fully reflects forward linked recurrent charges to investment and that is diligent about ascertaining debt sustainability.

This in turn implies the adoption of a functionally based multi-year fiscal framework that properly incorporates the national development objectives. Further it requires the corresponding coordination of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and their effective participation in the budget preparation process. The implementation of the budget requires the approval of the legislature. Such approval should only come after vigorous debate to assure that fiscal policy is sound and that the budget is consistent with policy objectives.

3. Develop effective and fully functioning institutions that are well capable of addressing policy, regulation as well as execution across all sectors reflected in the budget and key to meeting service delivery requirements, and across all districts of the country.

The absence of effective or appropriate institutions can lead to informal institutional arrangements to fill in the gaps. Such informal institutional arrangements can lead to abuse through patronage and corruption.

4. Effect an effective and comprehensive public finance management legal and regulatory framework that holds public officials accountable; one that has the clarity to guide the practice of public finance management in an unambiguous way; promotes transparency; and has the basis to establish auditable standards against which sub-optimal practice can be readily defined and offences sanctioned.

Such a legal and regulatory framework must meet these objectives as well as be flexible to properly accommodate reform efforts. This is achieved through a proper hierarchy of constitution, laws and decrees, regulations, manuals and circulars with a clearly defined chain of corresponding officers empowered to issue such regulatory instruments.

5. Introduce distinct political administration structures with clear assignments of roles and responsibilities between national and local institutions for service delivery and infrastructure development.

This must be backed by clear and transparent arrangements for the collection of revenues by the local communities, a transparent vertical and horizontal allocation of funds and transfers from the Central Government to the local communities and the accurate and timely tracking of such flows.

In many developing countries local authorities remain weak as institutions and there is still little clarity in the distinction of the roles and responsibilities of the assemblies from the local executive Authorities. In many developing countries traditional councils present another level of sub national government which introduces another challenge to transparent resource allocations and clear roles and responsibilities and singular lines of accountability.

6. Ensure sound budget execution process that operates within the context of a clear and consistent legal and regulatory framework that ensures budget implementation in the context of transparency and accountability.

The budget execution process requires effective revenue administration, debt management, cash management, predictable and timely budget releases, effective budgetary control, functioning establishment and commitment controls, sound expenditure management, regular and timely reconciliation and in-year expenditure reporting. It requires comprehensive documentation recording and record management and public access to budget estimates, budgetary and financial reports. The budget execution process occurs across the financial administration network which in many developing countries remains weak.

7. Operate a sound procurement system that is fair, economically efficient, transparent and accountable and is properly linked to the budget through the appropriate use of procurement plans and commitment control systems to ensure a procurement programme that properly reflects the budgetary intent; and achieves value for money.

8. Introduce effective internal controls, checks and balances that ensure that regulations and procedures are implemented in practice; that fiduciary risks are identified and effectively managed and regular internal audit reporting is disseminated to the accounting officer and the supreme audit institution. There must be timely and complete follow up on internal audit findings.

9. Introduce regular, timely and accurate financial reporting, premised on effective reconciliation procedures that provide an effective basis for management decisions and guidance.

This requires the implementation of universal accounting standards as well as a chart of accounts that is fully consistent with the budget classification. Financial reporting and management is greatly enhanced by automating recording, control and reporting of accounting and financial transactions.

10. Emphasize strong independent audit fully competent to operate and with adequate resources to achieve full audit coverage and be effective and effective parliamentary oversight.

This requires a supreme audit institution that provides regular and timely audit reports and is diligent about tracking follow up on the audit findings. Parliamentary oversight is a crucial element of assuring budgetary implementation consistent with the fiscal policy and compliant with the appropriations act.

Considerations When Purchasing a UTV Windshield

If you’re like most new UTV owners that drop a hard-earned wad of cash on a shiny, bone-stock new machine, you probably discover on that first ride that the one accessory you should have budgeted for was a high quality windshield. With many of the new machines on the market capable of freeway speed on firm ground, and the likely scenario that your recreational use includes some dusty, rainy, or snowy driving, it’s not long before most drivers opt for a more permanent alternative than motorcycle goggles.

So why not just head down to your nearest dealer and throw a couple hundred bucks at whatever’s in stock? At first glance it may seem like a pretty simple purchase. Just make sure it fits your vehicle and you’re in business, right? But there’s a reason for the wide selection of UTV windshields available. Side by side owners are an adventurous, varied group of enthusiasts with applications ranging from recreational use in dunes or trails, to hunting, to a second street legal vehicle to get around town in on those fair weather days. Besides your application, there are several other major considerations that should be made to avoid buyer’s remorse. What type of weather do you encounter frequently? Will you be trailering your UTV every time you use it? Do you want to have the option to remove it from the vehicle easily? What type of warranty options should you consider? This posting will address these questions to help you make an educated purchase.

There are two major reasons that owners purchase a windshield, and they are both critical to your continued enjoyment of your UTV. The most obvious is to protect your face and body from dust and debris. Unless you use your UTV exclusively on the street, you will likely get a mouth full of bugs or at least a thin layer of your local soil all over you from that very first ride. The good news is that literally any windshield, even the one-size-fits-all half windshields that are commonly seen on UTVs operating in sand dunes, will at least limit your exposure. Half windshields are often a good choice for low dust, hot weather applications where insulating the cabin is not an issue. In addition to the universal half windshields that will fit any model, there are many manufacturers, like Moose Division, that make both fixed and folding half windshields in the $150-$350 price range.

Speaking of weather, what’s the temperature and precipitation frequency where you ride the most? If you find yourself frequently battling the brutal winters of the Mid-west or Northeast (or any of you wacky Canadians), you not only want a full windshield, you may want to consider one of the heavy duty glass windshields that usually include a wiper option. While expensive, this will likely be the last windshield you will ever buy for your side by side. They are as strong as a car windshield and won’t scratch, and they offer the added benefit of insulating the cabin, particularly when integrated with a cab enclosure. If your weather conditions trend closer to the triple digits, in addition to the afore-mentioned half windshields, there are many vented Full Windshields on the market. Check out options like the patent-pending “Coolflo” Polaris RZR Windshield by Trail Armor or “lock and ride” models that are easily removable with thumb screws. Both are available in the $200-$400 price range.

I’ve talked a little about Windshield materials, and there is good reason for the incredibly wide price range between different materials available. Obviously, glass is the most expensive because it requires mounting in a thick, heavy frame (it’s already mounted in the frame for you), and is usually of the same quality as automotive windshield. These are usually the only windshields that have a wiper option available. They are an excellent choice for most applications other than racing, where the weight and added drag will slow you down. They are virtually impossible to break and are usually DOT approved (street legal). Most states require a windshield for any four wheel motor vehicle, and if you are ticketed for driving without one, the ticket may be close to the cost of a new windshield. Don’t get busted without one!

Most plastic Polaris RZR windshields fall into two categories: Acrylic (buy at least 1/4″ thick for strength) and Polycarbonate (usually 3/16″ thick). Both are sturdy enough to handle the elements, but usually only the thicker polycarbonate is DOT approved. If you plan on having your windshield on your UTV most of the time, it makes sense to spend a little extra on the heavier polycarbonate. It’s considerably stronger than acrylic and the way most owners beat up their machines, you’ll likely be glad you did. The strongest option (next to glass) is hard coated MR-10 Lexan, a super-hard material used in demanding applications like light aircraft windshields and medical grade instruments. It will never haze or yellow and it is safe to leave on when trailering your side by side. No matter what windshield you decide on, be sure to verify that the manufacturer warranties the windshield for trailering. This is the most common reason for UTV windshield breakage. EMP makes a great fixed Lexan windshield for the Polaris RZR and Polaris Ranger, among other models. It even includes a wiper option on some models.

There are essentially two mounting options to consider when purchasing any windshield. Will it require tools to remove it from your machine or not? Glass windshields are too heavy to take on and off regularly, so go with plastic if your application requires this flexibility. Most easily removable options include some form of “lock and ride” system that allows easy removal with thumb screws. They can usually be removed anywhere by one person as long as they are strong enough to lift the windshield off the cage. Most windshields do not require drilling, but use clamps that secure the windshield to the roll cage.

While windshields are usually great for protecting passengers from the elements, backdraft dust can be another issue, particularly if you have a windshield/roof combo on your side by side. This is where cab backs are a great option. These rear windows that bolts to the rear of the cage to keep dust, snow and rain out of the passenger area. Most offer the same easily removable thumbscrew system as the “lock and ride” windshields, and they are available from Kolpin and others for around $200.

No matter the type of windshield you decide on, it makes good sense to invest in a Brand made by a quality manufacturer such as those mentioned in this article. Bargain-basement models made of thin acrylic that are passed off as a “one size fits all solution” are often cheaply made sheets of plastic with a couple of clamps made by retailers who are trying to squeeze maximum profit out of their customers. Name brand warrantees will protect you from junk that might break your first time out. Take it from someone who has replaced more than one windshield on the same vehicle.

Psychic Medium Or Spiritual Medium – Is There a Difference?

Psychic mediums, psychics, spiritual mediums, psychic readers, online psychic readings, live psychics, clairvoyants, telephone psychics, psychic readings, the internet is swamped with psychics and mediums, so what is the difference? Is there a difference?

People think that once they have the gifts of clairvoyance, clairsentience, etc. they can call themselves a psychic medium, psychic, or spiritual medium. These gifts however, are merely “tools” or methods used to do the work of a psychic, or medium.   Just as a saw, plane, hammer and chisel are tools of the carpenter, you might have the tools, but it doesn’t make you a carpenter. Having these “tools” of clairvoyance etc. doesn’t necessarily make you a psychic, spiritual medium, or psychic medium.

Psychic readers – How do they get these psychic “tools”?

It has been known that people who, not originally born with psychic gifts, acquire them after experiencing a traumatic incident, or perhaps, a near death experience. While it is possible for a person to become more psychically aware following a traumatic experience, it still doesn’t give them the gifts of mediumship.     They may become psychic, and they might even say they are a psychic medium, but this is not the same as being a spiritual medium who can communicate with the dead.  A Spiritual medium is born with the gift to access the spirit world.

Psychic Medium or Spiritual Medium

Until a few years ago there wasn’t such a thing as a “psychic medium”, there were only psychics and mediums. Most mediums are affiliated with the spiritualist movementand are known as spiritual mediums, spirit mediums, spiritist mediums, or spiritualist mediums. These are just different names for the same thing.  Life was easy then, when psychics were psychics and mediums were mediums. Since then the term “psychic medium” has arisen, which is something of an anomaly because being a psychic, or psychic reader and being a medium are two separate and distinct things.

If you want to communicate with your “dead” loved ones, make sure you contact a spiritual medium, not a psychic medium. Spiritual mediums communicate with the dead, a psychic, doesn’t.   There are thousands of psychics, psychic mediums and spiritual mediums advertising on the internet.   In my experience 98% of psychic mediums and spiritual mediums claiming to be able to communicate with your loved ones, cannot live up to their claims. Any psychic medium, or spiritual medium who wishes to challenge me on this, I look forward to receiving proof (you would need to be able to link with MY loved ones.)

Which is best, a psychic, or a medium?

It depends what you are looking for, but generally

* If your loved one has died and you want to communicate with them, you should use a spiritual medium.

* If you are looking for a person or item that has gone missing, it is best to use a psychic.

Planters Warts On Feet Is A Debilitating Disease That Can Cause Excruciating Pain If Not Treated!

Warts are mainly caused by viral skin infections. The wart causing virus is known as the human papillomavirus. It attacks the superficial skin layer to produce a thick callous growth that is subject to tenderness if located in an area that exacts pressure. Plantar warts develop on the sole of the foot known as the plantar surface. They have an incubation period that varies from months to years depending on the immune system of the affected person. Planters warts on feet affect all age groups but are more prevalent among children between 12 and 16 years and rare among adults. The main risk factors include:

  • Skin trauma
  • Weak immune system due to certain medications or illness
  • Regular use of public showers

Causes of planters warts on feet:

As stated above, plantar warts are caused by human papilloma virus that affects the sole of the foot in the outer layer of the skin. There are many types of human papilloma virus but only a few cause warts on different parts of the body and mucous membrane. This virus grows in the warm, moist environments like the public swimming areas, shower floors and locker rooms. A person may contract the virus by walking bare footed around public gyms and pools. It can enter the body through cracks on dried skin, wet fragile skin caused by regular water exposure, and scrapes and cuts. When the human papilloma virus spreads from the original infection site, multiple plantar warts appear. They may appear in the form of:

  • Several individual planter warts at different parts of the foot.
  • Kissing planters warts: a pair of warts that appear at the point where two toes or the ball of foot and toe contact.
  • Mosaic planters warts: these are clusters of warts that appear in the form of large, single lesions.

Symptoms of planters warts on feet:

  • Inexplicable pain and tenderness at the foot while walking or standing.
  • Foot pain that feels like a lump under the foot.
  • Grayish or yellowish smooth surface at the surface of the foot.
  • Foot and back pain that result from poor posture.
  • Small clotted blood vessels known as black pinpoints or wart seeds.
  • Presence of hard, thick callous on the foot. It represents an ingrown planter wart.
  • Lesions that break off the normal ridges and lines at the skin of the feet.

How to remove planters warts on feet:

  • Choose a salicylic acid product that contains the right concentration for your skin. Most plantar wart treatments contain 15 to 40 percent of salicylic acid.
  • Apply salicylic acid to the affected area on the foot. If you do not experience any reactions within 24 hours, then the treatment is safe for you to use.
  • Soak the affected foot in warm water for a few minutes before applying the salicylic acid. This helps to soften the skin hence making it easier for the medication to penetrate through the wart.
  • Ensure that the treated part is covered with a bandage. This assists in killing the warts through suffocation: also to prevent discomfort and irritation.
  • Soak the affected foot in warm water again and allow the skin to soften. Gently peel off dead skin to avoid applying treatment on dried skin.

Conclusion

Planters warts on feet can be painful to the extent of affecting a person’s daily activities. Though home remedies are effective, it is essential to see a dermatologist for further examination and assurance that the wart is fully treated.
