Top 5 Spots to Roller Blade in Tampa Florida

Roller Blading is a great, fun way to exercise while enjoying really great, tropical Florida scenery. Blading is less taxing on your joints and lets you enjoy longer excursions than running might allow. Having just moved back home after living up in cold New England- I decided to scope out the best top 5 spots to roller blade in the area to get just the right mix of blading and fun scenery.

After extensive research, I happened upon 5 very different and unique trails:

1. Pinellas Trail- longest trail in Pinellas County

2. Fort Desoto – breathtaking views of the water, sunshine skyway and you can even glimpse a manatee or two.

3. Skyway Trail

4. Old Gandy Bridge (Friendship Trail Bridge)

5. Upper Tampa Bay Trail

These top 5 roller blading destinations are spacious, expansive and have amazing scenery along the way. If you are looking for a long trail or a short trail- the Tampa Bay area has everything that you need. The Pinellas Trail is the most popular of trails here in the area. It has a variety of vendors and watering holes along the way to satisfy your thirst amongst the hot and humid weather.

In my research I also found a really great group that gathers each Sunday morning for various Roller Blading excursions around the bay. The Sunday Bladers group is an energetic group that takes rollerblading seriously!

The choices are many; but always remember to wear your safety gear when roller blading. Bring a camel back too so you have a constant supply of H2O.

Top Tips for a Startup Construction Business

In spite of all the investments which followed after the independence in industrialization, infrastructure along with a series of restructurings, Ghana is still far behind in organization setups and procedures. The country’s inability to meet these requirements is largely due to the character and nature of her integration in the international system where she has been assigned the job of exporting primary products, and the consumer of manufactured imported goods through over the liberalization of her economy.

That said, anyone who wants to open up a business, more specifically a construction company in Ghana, they have to jump through a plethora of hoops in order to get it going. Let’s take a look at the method through which you can set up a construction company in Ghana.

Acquire a Tax ID#

As of the year 2012, every entrepreneur must have a TIN in order to start a business. It takes 2 days at max to get a TIN. If you’re going to start a construction company in Ghana you must acquire a Tax Id for your business.

Check for the Availability of Company Name

Well this one is definitely a no brainer. You need to check the list of registered construction companies in Ghana and make sure that your construction business is not using the same name as any of the previously registered companies.

Submit Company Documents to Obtain Certificate of Incorporation

After making sure of the uniqueness of the name, the entrepreneur has to come to the customer service office to submit the company documents for registration. Then the applicant may get the prescribed Form A from the bank and submit it back to the bank after filling it. After careful scrutiny the registrar issues the registration certificate along with the original form to be submitted as an attachment.

The incorporation documents are comprised of the following forms which can be download from http://www.rgd.gov.gh.

Get your Certificate Authenticated

You need to authenticate your obtained certificate in front of a Commissioner of Oaths.

Obtain Certificate to Commence Business

After getting the company incorporated, all the pending documentation must be submitted within 28 days. The registrar of companies now registers new companies automatically with the IRS.

Deposit paid-in capital in an account

After all that the following documents are required with the paid-in capital in a bank account:

– Copy of company regulation.

– Incorporation Certificate

– Certificate to Commence Business

– Signatures of Authorized Company Personnel.

Apply for Business Licenses

Every type of Business License costs different. Also the accompanying documents vary depending on what category your business falls in. If you are a construction company in Ghana you must apply for a construction business license.

Get your Workplace Inspected

Being an affordable construction company, your official premises need to be very much up to the mark in terms of security. Have an office visit your premises and report the findings to the RAMA (Review Accountant of the Metropolitan Assembly), who then submits the report to the Revenue Mobilization Subcommittee of the Assembly.

Apply for Social Security

In order to get social security, every company must submit the following:

– List of Employees

– Their Respective Salaries

– Social Security Numbers

– Certificate to commence business

– Certificate of Incorporation

Cobb Tuning – Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 Subaru WRX/STi XLE BPV

With the introduction to Cobb Tuning making a comeback to producing hard parts, their anticipated release of a bypass valve is welcomed. Many of us have been waiting for a valve that is easy to adjust, sounds great and works 100% without any surging on the turbo compressor.

Question: So what exactly is a BPV and what is the difference between a BOV ( Blow off valve ) and a BPV (Bypass Valve)?

Answer: Its simple.. It all boils down to whether or not your car runs on speed density or mass air. If you have a car that is speed density, you will not have a mass air meter. So, effectively, you can run a Blow Off Valve which give off a very loud WHOOSH sound as you shift gears when in boost. A Bypass Valve takes that boosted air its venting, and recirculates it back into the intake. The importance of this on a mass air car is, that air was already metered and counted, therefore, venting that air to the atmosphere will cause your can to go rich. You are effectively removing air once counted and letting it blow in the air, so the car is going to add more fuel thinking that air is still incoming. Many enthusiast prefer the sound of a BOV, but generally they end up doing damage to their catalytic converters because of the rich conditions incorporated into running a VTA ( Vent To Atmosphere ) system on a MAF equipped car.

Question: Whats the purpose of these valves anyways?

Answer:

1) Boosted cars produce tremendous amounts of pressurized air that is pumped very quickly throughout the intake system. When the throttle body is open, this air can move very quickly into the engine. Once the throttle body closes, that fast moving air has no place to go. You have an abundance of air trapped in a small place ( charge pipes ) which can burst, causing significant damage to your intake system and even your cars hood. On turbocharged cars especially, its main function as a Bypass Valve (BPV)/Blow Off Valve (BOV), is to release this boost pressure to prevent this pressurized air from being diverted back toward the turbo impellers. If this pressurized air is not released, the diverted air can cause the turbine wheels to slow and possibly even stall, causing wear and damage to the turbocharger. A turbochargers impeller wheels can spin in excess of over 60,000 RPM, so if the impeller was to fail, you would see a lot of damage.

2) Its second function is being able to hold peak boost during gear change without a significant loss of boost during this event. A good BPV/BOV can hold a high amount of boost, for the needed time of shifting gears, without degrading performance.

3) One important thing to remember on a Mazda, the stock BPV leaks, even at as low as 8 psi of boost. That is almost half of the rated 15 psi a speed can produce stock!

Cobb Tuning has an answer for those looking for that loud blow off sound but with a safety margin, the Cobb Tuning XLE BPV. It can be setup to run in 3 modes, one of them being a hybrid mode that allows a minute amount of VTA without placing the car in a lean condition. You get that loud WHOOSH but you also get that important counted air, recirculated back into the system.

Even though this valve comes in at a steep price of $299, its not any more expensive then the most over-rated BPV on the market, the HKS SSBOV… The Cobb XLE doesn’t require any type of flange adapter. The HKS requires an adapter to be fitted to it before it can be mounted on a Mazdaspeed 3 or 6. Installing the adapter is a pain since it uses a snap ring… The most troubling part of the HKS is how much plastic is found inside the valve, but more daunting, its inability to be adjustable. $300? Really? There are numerous reports on our forum about the HKS falling apart… The plastic inside is breaking… This is definitely not the type of valve I want inside my car. Step aside, we have a new BPV on the market thats going out be worth the $299.

The Cobb Tuning XLE BPV is one unit that can be adapted to several cars. First off, if you plan to replace your Mazda with a scoobie, this can be done with a simple part change without having to buy a new valve. Below are the specs on the Cobb XLE:

FEATURES

Body

* Body, mounting flange and secondary outlet cover are constructed of 6061 T6 aluminum.

* The body is hard anodized for additional strength.

* The primary outlet is rectangular in shape to provide maximum cross sectional area for venting pressurized air as quickly as possible.

* The secondary outlet cover can be removed to enable partial vent to atmosphere or full vent to atmosphere modes.

* Unit height is only 3.5 inches from base of flange to top preload adjuster, allowing it to fit into the tightest of locations.

* Body to mounting flange interface is o-ring sealed, allowing flanges of different shapes to work on multiple applications.

Piston

* Lightweight aluminum piston allows faster reaction time than heavier pistons.

* The aluminum piston has been hard anodized and impregnated with Teflon to provide smooth movement, reduce surface wear and minimize maintenance.

* Rounded piston profile smooths air flow as it passes through they cylinder.

* The rounded piston profile mates with a rounded piston seat for superior sealing when the BPV is closed.

* Tight tolerance o-rings are used to seal piston to cylinder bore properly at normal engine operating temperatures without sacrificing piston speed.

Preload Adjuster and Spring

* Adjuster allows adjustment of spring preload for fine tuning release pressure.

* Spring and spring seat are constructed of 303 stainless steel.

* Spring preload adjustment mechanism and fasteners are stainless steel.

Operation

* Valve vents pressurized air very quickly due to lightweight components, port shape and low sliding friction.

* Unique exhaust sound due to speed of air release.

* Construction materials make the XLE BPV compatible with alcohol/water injection due to inherent corrosion resistance. * Lighter than most aftermarket BPVs and BOVs.

OPERATING MODES

Full Recirculation – Outlet is plumbed back into the intake tract pre-turbo. This configuration provides the best driveability with stock based MAF systems. This configuration generates the least amount of noise.

Hybrid Mode – Outlet is plumbed back into the intake tract pre-turbo and the auxiliary port cover is removed. When the piston is more than 30% open, the auxiliary port is opens, audibly venting to atmosphere. Less than 30% open results in full recirculation to improve driveability.

Full Atmosphere – Outlet and auxiliary port are open to atmosphere. Recommended only for MAP based air metering. This configuration generates the highest sound levels.

ADJUSTMENT

Spring Preload – Spring preload determines the pressure differential across the BPV piston required before the BPV opens and releases the pressurized intake charge. The COBB XLE BPV can be adjusted by loosening the locknut and turning the allen-head shaft clockwise for more preload or counter-clockwise for less preload. Once preload is set, the locknut is retightened and ensures the adjustment is secure.

Installation:

Parts List:

* Bypass Valve

* O-ring (Mazdaspeed 3 Application Only)

* Paper Gasket (Mazdaspeed 3 or LGT/08+ WRX Applications Only)

Tools Required:

* 3/8″ Ratchet

* 10mm & 12mm Socket

* 10mm & 12mm Open End Wrench

* Pliers

Tools Required for Maintenance:

* 3mm Allen Key

* 4mm Allen Key

* 13mm Open End Wrench

* Moly-Based Grease

Installing this piece couldn’t be easier. The stock bpv is black in color, made of plastic can can be found on a stock Mazda right at the cold pipe on the stock TMIC

1) Take a pair of pliers and remove the recirc hose on the back of the valve (large 23mm hose). Guide the pliers to the butterfly clamp, compress pliers to release tension and slide back clamp 3 inches from the lip. tug on the hose to release it from the valve.

2) Take the pliers and remove the small vac line in the same manner as you did the above recirc hose.

3) Remove the (2) 10mm bolts holding on the BPV onto the pipe and put them off to the side, we will reuse these.

Now, you have to decide if you want to run full recirc or hybrid mode. If you choose to run the louder hybrid mode, you will need to remove the trap door on the valve with a 3mm allen key/bit. Theres only 4 of these holding it on, so its really simple.

Once you have decided which route you will take, remove the paper gasket from the box and place it on the valve, using both bolts to hold it in place. Simple place the valve back onto the BPV flange and retighten it. Now word of caution here.. If you ARE using an alumn TMIC, I strongly suggest using a ratchet extension with a 10mm deep well socket to hand tighten both bolts evenly. Once they are hand tight, give one good 1/4 inch crank on both bolts and that’s it. They hardly require much torque and we keep hearing about Hercules breaking off his bolts in the cold pipe or stripping the threads.

Once you got it torqued back down, simply connect both hoses and take it out for a drive. I seriously doubt you will need to make any adjustments to the valve, but if you do, keep reading.

Adjustment:

Adjusting this valve is a no brainer. Simple place a 13mm open end wrench onto the jam nut located on top where the vac line attaches, then take a 4mm allen/bit and go clockwise to increase spring tension ( increase the chance of compressor surge / vent slower ) or counter-clockwide to decrease spring pressure ( decrease the chance of compressor surge / vent faster ).

Now a word to the wise for you noobs.. Increasing the spring tension here does NOT increase the amount of boost this valve can hold. If you want to hold more boost, a different spring will need to be installed in this valve.

Maintenance:

It is recommended that every time you change your oil you inspect your COBB Tuning Bypass Valve to make sure the piston is still moving freely. You can do so by unbolting the BPV from the vehicle mounting flange and pushing on the piston. If you can feel some resistance, it is advised to remove the piston from the body and clean and re-grease the piston, we recommend ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant, P/N 100-9911, but any moly-based grease will work fine. I prefer the redline red moly that I used during both the Cobb STS and TWM Performance STS installation.

Disassemble the COBB Tuning BPV

In order to remove the piston, unbolt the base flange from the body using a 3mm allen key. Depending on the BPV model you have, this may be 5-6 socket head cap screws. When removing the piston, be careful to not cut the o-ring. If your o-ring is damaged, you can contact COBB Tuning for a replacement.

Reassemble the COBB Tuning BPV

To reassemble the BPV, push the piston back into the body, so that the piston does not protrude from the body. You can hold the piston at that point by placing your finger over the vacuum connection.

Place the base flange onto the body and re-clock the flange. Secure the flange with the 5-6 socket head cap screws, depending on the model, using a 3mm allen key.

Conclusion:

I am so happy to see such an easy valve hit the market that not only looks and sounds cool, but is fully functional, adjustable and isn’t finicky right out of the box. For years I was running a Forge Valve that had a blue spring and 2 shims. It gave me issues with no shims, it also gave me issues with a red shim. It was 75% on mark with 2 shims.

With the Cobb XLE, I hold all of my boost during shift and its loud, meaning people know you are on the boost. It also doesn’t sound like a couple of ninjas having a sword fight under the hood like the Forge does.

Keep your eye on the valve needing grease, esp is you are running the hybrid mode or your car is in a lot of moisture like rain or snow. This will def breakdown the grease in the piston.

Also keep in mind that the paper gasket IS needed on both the scoobies and Mazda’s. I have seen some genius’s attempt to go straight o-ring and unless your flange is 100% level, you are going to leak some boost without the gasket. So, use the gasket guys… it is re-usable and needed for our application to keep this valve from leaking.

I would like to thank Gary Sheehan for accidentally placing this in the box while getting the Cobb FMIC V2.0 out to us!

Do You Have These Panic Attack Symptoms?

A panic attack is a one of those things that literally grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. A sufferer can virtually find himself or herself running around in circles trying to “escape” the feeling of dread. However, that’s the extreme case. What about those times when you’re quite not sure what it is you’re suffering from? Not all panic symptoms hit you over the head with a sledge hammer.

So the question is, how can you tell if you’re having a panic? If you’re having any of the following symptoms, you just might be. One of the most common symptoms of a panic is a racing heart. It can almost feel like it’s trying to jump out of your body. If you put your hand to your chest, you can feel it pounding.

Another common symptom of panic attacks is feeling weak or dizzy. You may lose your balance or feel like you’re going to pass out. Of course these symptoms can also be caused by high blood pressure or even low blood sugar. That’s why it’s important to make note of all your symptoms and not just one or two.

You may also feel a tingling or numbing sensation in the fingers. However, and most people don’t know this, sinus problems can also cause the same sensation. If you’re prone to sinus problems or have allergies (see your allergist) that tingling sensation doesn’t have to be caused by panic.

A common symptom is a feeling of dread or death. At times this can almost feel like a premonition. I’m not suggesting that people having panic attacks can actually predict the future (that’s a topic for another time) but in their minds, the person having the attack is sure that something terrible is going to happen.

In addition to the above, you may also feel sweaty or might be having chills. Of course this could also be caused by having the flue or a severe cold. Again, you need to look at all the symptoms in order to make a proper self diagnosis.

A serious symptom is one of chest pains. The reason this is serious is because what may appear to be a panic attack could very well be the onset of a heart episode. If you are having chest pains, don’t guess. See a doctor immediately, especially if the pains worsen.

You may also have trouble breathing or feel like you are losing control of yourself. That sense of loss of control is usually when the panic attack begins to worsen. If you are having several of the above symptoms, it is quite possible that you’re having a panic attack. Once you’ve determined that much, the question is…what next?

Treating panic attacks, outside of traditional medicine which can have serious side effects, is your safest and best option. And yes, there are natural treatments for panic attacks. For more information on that subject, please see the link below.

In the meantime, please make a note of these symptoms any time that you feel that you’re having a panic attack. Proper diagnosis is the first step to finding a cure.

The Four Dimensions of Jesus Christ’s Ministry

In this long journey of life, I have sought a spiritual interpretation of Christ’s mission on earth, its implication on our lives and whether it really achieved the intended mission. This is a chronological account of various acts of Christ- preaching, teaching, healing and the overall impact.

I have attempted to distinguish the four main areas for simplicity and understanding. These were basically the areas that were the highlights of His mission: Christ Himself assigned His work into the three main categories as mentioned here in above- the fourth being the observer’s discretion as to whether the former three.

The teachings of Christ were confined on the basics of the Kingdom of God- how it shall be to the believers after the earthly kingdom. It largely comprises of biblical interpretation of pre-existing teachings of Mosaic laws, the laws of the land at that time, the basics of the law like the Sabbath, the parables, sayings, beatitudes and other analogies.

The preaching on the other hand was confined on conviction Jesus had on his followers on matters of the Kingdom. Jesus emphasized on the importance of preparing oneself for the heavenly Kingdom through baptism, honest living, good neighborliness and the love and fear for the Lord. The preaching was more on the importance of live life without sin and how to avoid temptations; most of the time, teaching, preaching and healing went hand in hand.

Healing the sick, maimed, deaf and demon possessed was another method Jesus used; all four were interdependent on each other. I shall focus on each at a time in my subsequent articles in what I shall refer to us “The sequel and chronology of life and times of Jesus Christ”. We are called to partake his Kingdom, for we are his children. To have understanding of His Kingdom, we must look at the areas he emphasized on and see whether there were gems of glory that we can learn, practice and share about the life and deeds of this great man.

It is my sincere hope that this is not in vain but a fruitful effort to know him more. Christ wants us to know him more and what a sure way to know him more than to study his deeds? Be utterly blessed as you commune with me in this sacrilegious mission. Open your heart to receive his word like no other.

They Who Paint in the Sun Should Not Be Painting!

He who paints in the sun will not get the professional results they are expecting. Paint whether oil or latex, thinned out or not dries or cures from air temperature, slower in the shade and faster in the sun.

The solvents or driers such as ASA (anti skinning agent), cobalt, naptha, mineral spirits, xylene, found in oil based paint evaporate at a much quicker rate when directly exposed to the sun. Whether spraying, brushing, or rolling paint sets up much like frying a egg in a pan when painting in direct sun light. This “setup time” will not allow the applicator to properly spread out or level the paint on the surface. The end result whether on wood, metal, or siding is going to be rough in appearance.

Before painting the exterior of any structure the painter must scope out the direction of the sun and its relation to the structure at different times of the day. He or she must work away from the sun!

This is most important when working on the roof painting, the sides of dormers, etc. The heat generated to roofing materials most notably shingles can reach temperatures well over 100 degrees.

Painting in these extremes is self defeating in that the paint sets up too quickly to properly apply it. In turn making the outcome of the paint job look unprofessional.

The painters tools react differently under different temperatures and don’t achieve the same results when painting in the hot sun. Brushes cake up, rollers dry out, and spray tips clog faster. The pot life of the paint curdles faster which is detrimental. To obtain the best results of exterior painting is to Paint in the Shade!

History of the Swarovski Brand

The Swarovski Company was founded in the late 19th Century when Daniel Swarovski invented an automatic cutting machine for crystal, and in 1895 established a crystal cutting factory in Austria. The birthplace of the factory was Wattens, which was chosen because local hydroelectricity made the energy-intensive process involved more cost-effective.

Today Wattens is home to the Swarovski museum which tells the story of the founder and the company’s history and development right through to present day.The Swarovski range includes jewelry, couture, crystal sculptures and miniatures, home décor and chandeliers. They also create crystal beads and promote other designers including these in their work. In order to maximize refraction and to give Swarovski its magnificent sparkle, the crystal contains around 32% lead. Some of the crystals are also coated in order to refract a rainbow spectrum.

All Swarovski sculptures are marked with a logo, this was originally an edelweiss flower but was replaced by the current swan logo in 1988.Today all types of Swarovski crystal are hugely in demand as collectibles, and make a stunning display in any home, can be worn as vintage or contemporary jewelry or can be used as an investment piece as their popularity and value continues to rise.

Apart from beautiful crystals and stunning beads and jewelry Swarovski is also know for its range of binoculars and scopes. This may seem like quite a diverse range of products but what draws all parts of the company together is the engineering excellence which stems from the company’s quest for precision and ever higher standards.

In 1935, Wilhelm Swarovski, the 17 year old son of the founder of Swarovski, was a keen astronomer and this led to his desire to build a much improved binocular than those available in the day. Wilhelm had ready access to the engineering in his Father’s company and more importantly the glass production and finishing techniques that were so important in the production of Swarovski crystal. From these beginnings Swarovksi Optik was born and continues today to be a cutting edge leader in the industry.

Swarovski has a well deserved reputation for superior quality and thus Swarovski Optik binoculars and telescopes remain the preferred choice of many professional atronomers and nature watchers around the world.

The Difference Between Irresponsible and Responsible Exercises of Parental Authority

For six years I assessed the mental health treatment needs of adults who get caught in the revolving door to a state criminal justice system in New England. In piecing together the histories of these clients I spoke with their parents when opportunities arose. What was often the case during these interviews is that these parents plead ignorance as to how events in the lives of their families impacted their children. Clearly, these parents were either unwilling and/or unable to empathize and build bridges to their children’s rich inner worlds. This is why these parents remained at a loss to chronicle the emotional histories of their grown children. These interviews have been instructive in teaching me how these parents lost control of their kids when they were old enough to survive outside the home. The desire to please their parents in order to receive valuable nurturance was extinguished early on. Their children may have paid lip service to them but, for all intents and purposes by age 14 or so most of these kids stopped listening to their parents altogether. By that time, as they probably saw it, they had nothing left to lose. These victims of parental indifference and abuse were soon primed to demand reparations from an unsuspecting community that was about to pay dearly for what these children felt robbed of growing up. One doesn’t behave in respectful ways as an adult when fed a steady diet of disrespect as a child.

As implied previously, the abdication and/or abuse of parental authority is an incubator for the development of antisocial traits. The antidote to the behavioral viruses these traits spawn is a parenting philosophy built on a bedrock of benevolent authority. Benevolent authority is put into action as consistent and continuous dialogues with our children where we actively listen to and clarify what we hear, reflect back our understanding of what we hear and respond respectfully in our roles as leaders and teachers. This way, our respect and love for our children as separate people comes across loud and clear. Collectively, these interpersonal skills form a diplomatic initiative that opens negotiations to obtain our children’s cooperation through motivational strategies designed to get them on board with our vision for raising them. “We” stay in charge no matter how humbly we wear the title, “boss.”

This interactive and dynamic process requires a flexible vision. It is rooted in forging an alliance so that we can use our influence to leverage agreements. In truth, it is about as democratic an arrangement as The US Government in their foreign policy negotiations with third world countries who depend on our foreign aid to preserve their sovereignty. Benevolent parents not unlike benevolent superpowers, speak softly and carry a “big carrot.” To flaunt superior power is tantamount to baiting an inferior foe into a guerrilla conflict. As parents we want allies of our children, not adversaries. Once we turn parenting into a battle of wills we may win some battles but, we will ultimately lose the war with enduring negative consequences.

It is my contention that we as parents must share authority with our children without abdicating the right to make the final decisions. This goal can be accomplished within the context of relationships that honor our children’s needs to keep their self respect and dignity in tact. If we treat our children as subjects rather than objects more times than not, we will in turn be accorded roles of co-collaborators and editors of our children’s story lines as they creatively unfold. To be kept outside the loop so to speak and have this precedent continue into adolescence sets the stage for losing our kids to the streets. I have heard countless times from clients in a million different ways how: “No one has the right to tell me what to do!”

To exercise benevolent authority it is imperative to frame childhood resistance to parental authority as efforts at self definition and not a referendum on the parent’s unworthiness of respect. If you’re over 40 and/or were raised in a foreign culture, it’s easy to have learned that “good children” are seen and only heard when addressed and, to regard willful behavior as signs of “badness” or “inadequacy.”

Single parents tend to be most vulnerable to misinterpreting such reactions as they more often than not feel over worked, neglected and unappreciated. If you are a single parent and take seriously the time and energy devoted to raising your children then, “I don’t have time to care for my needs is not a bumper sticker you can afford to have adorning your car. The price of doing so is to blame your children for the self inflicted wounds you suffered early on when they are being developmentally and age appropriately self centered, inconsiderate, demanding ingrates. It’s never their job to take care of you even if they are the least bit willing and able to do.

My parenting philosophy, borrowed from many sources is based on teaching children to feel entitled to ask for and negotiate their needs, to learn that the satisfaction of their needs may require patience, perseverance and resourcefulness over time. When we fail to care adequately for ourselves it can be unbearably painful to listen to our children ask for the sky and then, unrealistic that we praise them for doing so. We all know how to shame and guilt our children into silence but, this is a victory we and they pay for down the road. It’s difficult to take children to places we have never been before. So, make it a priority to learn to care for your needs so that you will find the intestinal fortitude to cope constructively with their resistance to unpopular but, important decisions that you know from experience are in their best interests.

Below is an example of the conditions that shape the process by which a normally benevolent single parent loses empathy for her children. Joan Taylor will tread on thin ice with her kids because fatigue breaks down her defenses and her resultant helplessness draws her into emotional time warp. Joan momentarily relives moments in time when as a child she felt wounded by her parents’ empathic failures. She becomes driven by aggressive demands for reparations and uses self righteous rationalizations to retaliate for grievances collected years ago. In this emotional space Joan’s children become unwitting and reluctant actors on the stage of Joan’s morality play. Lost in her own emotional blindness Joan both abdicates and abuses her parental authority. Her children are the real victims and react accordingly.

These are unavoidable normal occurrences. The frequency with which they occur is a yardstick of our emotional courage and commitment to our children. It is also a measure of our capacities to learn about how our past haunts us, make changes to reduce our vulnerabilities to such memories and grow beyond being wounded by them. Children are very resilient to a point. How we deal with such challenges to grow in our emotional intelligence will affect our children one way or another in the long run.

In the example below the results are predictable. As events unfold inside Joan that shape regrettable behaviors, please notice the opportunities Joan has to gently regain control of the parental reins. Let’s see what happens

It’s the end of a long three day weekend. Joan Taylor, a single parent of two children, Amy age 9 and Jason age 6 feels as worn out as the frayed dish towel she holds as the last dinner dishes are washed and placed in the drainer. The kids are parked in front of the television and Joan wryly remarks to herself that the dish towel becomes an extension of her right arm by the end of her weekend with the kids. Joan observes herself and momentarily ponders with puzzlement why she rigidly pushes herself so unnecessarily to wash every last dish after each meal before she moves on to the next activity. She resents the helplessness such compulsiveness engenders.

This is a painful moment for Joan. Joan’s quasi dictatorial relationship to herself is no accident as both of her parents were quite the taskmasters. She envies and resents her children who are relaxing in front of the television set understandably unfazed by their own obliviousness to neglected chores. They are kids still growing in their capacities to retain and follow instructions and lack the strategies adults use to compensate for temporary memory losses.

Joan’s understandable weariness with her role as a single parent grows more palpable as fatigue overtakes her. She becomes filled with guilt and self recriminations in reaction to feeling burdened by her children’s dependency needs. Joan’s preservation of her identity as a “good mother” requires conscious energy she can’t muster to dispute irrational beliefs she hits herself over the head with. The stage is set for her to play the “blame game” as it’s too painful for her to acknowledge that she is the author of her own misery. All Joan needs now is a flimsy pretext to complete her transformation from responsible parent to self centered, victimized child.

This process is completely invisible to her tired children who are zoned out watching television and predictably oblivious to their mother’s incipient Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde transformation.

Meanwhile, despite their mother’s request they have not packed their suitcases or cleaned up their room in preparation to return to their father’s home for the school week. Joan’s fleeting insight that she is reliving something that may create problems for her evaporates quickly. Instead of calling her own time out to retreat to her bedroom to reflect on and process what’s going on inside of her, Joan’s self righteous anger becomes a moral justification to identify with her drill sergeant father and give her kids a dose of his medicine. Joan doesn’t know what’s driving her in the moment and doesn’t want to know because she wants to gratify her vengeful desires and wouldn’t permit herself to do so if she stopped long enough about what was driving her. Joan will pay in spades as her regression to childhood will leave her depressed the rest of the evening after the kids depart.

Joan barges into Amy and Jason’s bedroom after a perfunctory knock and demands that they turn off the television and pack their bags. Joan’s emotional blindness leads to the misinterpretation that her children’s passivity means they don’t respect her. In truth, this becomes a self fulfilling prophecy only because of the disrespectful manner she approaches her children. These kids unlike their mother who feels very guilty about acknowledging what she regards to be unsavory thoughts and feelings, are very comfortable in their self centeredness and ask in unison with obvious annoyance: “Why are you being so mean? We didn’t do anything. Can’t we watch the end of this show. It’s over in 15 minutes?” Joan is so angry at herself because she knows they are right and yet, her actions that follow reflect that she’s still battling parental ghosts her children now stand in for.

For Joan, Amy and Jason remain confused inside her head with her parents who she still regards as having been unnecessarily punitive and, at the same time passive; leaving her feeling overwhelmed with personal responsibility and both shame and guilt ridden for rejecting personal responsibility as she does now. Joan holds unrealistic expectations that her kids will volunteer to help her get ready to leave. They might have but, it is still Joan’s responsibility to enlist their cooperation with tact, consideration, authority and diplomacy. Joan ensures that they behave in a manner that is pleasing to her as she wants them to help her mimic the interactions between her self and her parents from decades ago.

At first, Amy and Jason refuse to budge and do their chores. What we witness here is the domestic equivalent of management and labor locking horns at the bargaining table. Then, Joan starts yelling and uses fear and intimidation to force her kids to submit. This is an empty victory as what Joan models she certainly doesn’t want her kids to learn in relating to themselves and others. In addition, Amy and Jason are temporarily abandoned as Joan loses empathy with her kids. Their safety and security are ignored.

The moral of the story is that much of the disobedience of our children can be avoided. The buck must stop with us. It’s our responsibility to model self respect, relate to our children with respect and consideration for their dependency needs, learning styles, strengths and weaknesses, talents, and to be sensitive and responsive to their difficulties functioning when in crises or just stressed out from their own daily grinds. We must be comfortable asking politely for what we want from them, make sensible and realistic requests we can explain, listen to their responses, negotiate mutually agreeable solutions when possible and, enforce decisions with unwavering resolve, compassion and kindness when negotiations breakdown. If we do we will perform the most important service to ourselves, our children and mankind; to groom generations of leaders equipped to tackle the great social problems of the world. Enjoy this most important and meaningful mission.

Snow Blowers 101: The Difference Between the 3 Types of Snow Blowers

If you have already done some preliminary shopping then you know that snow blowers (also known as snow throwers) vary in price range. You can find the cheapest versions for just under $100 and the most expensive versions at over $1000. On the cheaper side, these models are engineered to handle moderate snow conditions. The more expensive versions are heavy-duty models that are used in areas where there is heavy snowfall. When all is said and done, there are only two things that you need to consider before buying a snow blower: the amount of snow you expect to receive and the amount of space you have for storage.

Single-Stage Electric Snow Blowers

The single-stage electric blower is a blower that is both small and does not have any driven wheels. This particular blower actually uses a rubber-tipped auger that propels the machine along while picking up and throwing snow along the way.

This type of blower works best on level driveways that are not too long in length. This particular type of blower also works very well on decks and snow-covered walkways. This particular type of blower can handle snowfall that is less than four inches.

Single-stage electric blowers are lightweight, easy to store and easy to handle. One thing you should keep in mind is that this particular blower type has a power cord so you are somewhat limited in length.

Single-Stage Gas Snow Blowers

The gas-powered version of the single-stage snow thrower is more powerful than the electric version. As far as driveway size is concerned, this type of blower can handle mid-size level driveways. Just like the electric version, these blowers are good for decks and walkways. The gas-powered version can handle twice the amount of snow compared to the electric version – up to eight inches.

These blowers are light in weight, easy to store and very easy to handle. You will need both gas and oil to operate this type of blower but you won’t have a power cord to deal with.

Two-Stage Gas Snow Blowers

Much like the single-stage blower, the two-stage gas snow thrower also uses a powerful auger to pick up and throw snow while moving. However, the two-stage unit has a fan-like impeller above the auger that throws the snow out of the chute on the “second” stage – hence the name “two-stage” blower.

This type of blower is much larger than the single-stage types. It should also be noted that the two-stage gas blower is wheel driven rather than auger-driven. And because of the size of these machines, they can easily sweep up to 30 inches of snow along with sweeping snow off steep slopes.

Conclusion

The single-stage electric snow blower, single-stage gas snow blower and two-stage gas snow blower all have their different advantages and disadvantages. The type that you should end up purchasing should depend on amount of snowfall and capacity of storage space.

And once you have decided which type to purchase, read all available snow blower reviews.

Uses Of Automotive Equipment And Tools

Automotive equipment and tools are a very important part of the automobile industry. They can range from simple hand held devices to large structures that can even lift a heavy truck. The uses of these equipments in the world of automobiles cannot be undermined. For carrying out repairs, for changing a tire, for lubricating, for servicing, for charging up the battery, and for cleaning the vehicles, these equipments are very important.

Here Is A Brief Note On Some Of The Uses Of These Equipments.

Automobile Equipment Usage

* Automotive Lifts: Hydraulic lifts are very common in the industry and are used in showrooms, repair shops, and automobile factories. They generally come in the form of a platform fixed on a zigzag leg that can be raised or lowered as required. Heavy vehicles can be raised by the use of this equipment. These are how cars reach the first or second floor of a showroom or how the repairs to the lower part of vehicles are carried out in a mechanic’s shop. These lifts can be of different types like motorcycle lifts, runway lifts, drive on lifts, in-ground lifts, etc.

* Lubrication Equipments: As the name suggests, these are used to lubricate parts of the vehicle. There is a long list of lubrication equipments available and each is used for different lubrication purposes. Oil and grease reels, grease guns, oil drains, and oil and grease pumps are all examples of such commonly used equipment. Blacrank is a good brand when it comes to these equipments. Blacrank oil pumps are indisputable masters of the group.

* Compressors: Air compressors are used to do various works on automobiles. Generally, air compressors give additional pressure to drive in screws and give more power to tools like wrenches and nail guns. These are also used to remove dirt from the vehicle.

* Service Equipments: A vehicle needs to be serviced from time to time to ensure its proper running. This is where service equipments come in. These are battery chargers, fuel transfer device, brake fluid exchangers, coolant service equipment, tire changers, etc.

* Reels: These come in different shapes and sizes and are an important member of any automotive equipment list. Reels could be air reels, exhaust hose reels, grease reels, etc. Reels help to keep the pipes and hoses in place and also to extend its life. They can be easily reeled out to the required size and stored by reeling back.

* Jacks: Jacks are important not only in the shop but also for every vehicle owner. They enable the person to lift up the vehicle for the purpose of changing tires or doing some emergency repairs on the vehicle.

The list of automotive equipment is quite long and their uses quite large. Companies who sell such equipments also deal in car parts, thus making the store a one stop place for all things related to automobiles. Nowadays, there are thousands of online stores selling these equipments making them more accessible to all in need.

Why Women Absolutely Love a Man With Tight Buns and a Big Penis – And How To Easily Develop Them

Why do women go crazy over a man who has compact and tight buttocks? Why do they especially go crazy when a man also have a big penis? What is the guiding energy, desire, or attraction that makes a man with these two special characteristics the best “catch’ that is available?

Well, the answer may come as a bit of a surprise to you. You see, these magnetic traits that a man can have are based on what Mother Nature dictates. It’s really that simple. Yes, it is simple biology that makes a woman intensely attracted to a man who has these physical traits.

The reason for the “tight” buns is biologically reflected to a woman that the man will have good, strong, and powerful pelvic abilities. Which is to say that he is equipped with the right musculature to have dynamic, intense, and strong “thrusting power.” A man with this ability, biologically triggers a response in women that tells her that he will be a great copulator and, not only that, but that he will be able to better deposit his seminal fluid deeper into her vagina. This means that he is better equipped to father children. Amazing, isn’t it?

The reason that a woman is attracted to a man with a large penis is equally due to Mother Nature’s influence. And this biological magnet also has to do with sexuality and procreation. For, a man who is equipped with a larger penis will also be better able to deposit his sperm deeper in her vagina to aid in pregnancy. Again, it has to do with his ability to father children.

But it gets better and even more fascinating and interesting. When a woman has an orgasm, what happens from a cervical point-of-view? The cervix constricts and creates a vacuum effect in the vagina and cervix. When this happens, this suctional force does what? It sucks seminal fluid into the cervix through the os (opening) of the cervix to aid in pregnancy, too.

Now, a man who is a great pelvic thruster and a man with a larger penis are going to help a woman engage in what? Such a man will help engage a woman into having an orgasm. Thus, even increasing the chance of pregnancy even greater!

So, this is why women love men of this physical calibre.

Okay, men, how do we tighten up our buttocks and enlarge our penises?

A great way to tighten up your buttocks is to start using stairs. Skip the elevator and start climbing. Get one of those stair machines for your home if you have to. Biking and walking are also great ways to strengthen and tighten your buttocks. So, walk to work instead of driving; or bicycle to the store instead of driving. If you do drive, park as far away from your destination as possible, to force yourself to walk. For your lunch period, walk around your office complex to strengthen your buttocks.

The best way to enlarge your penis is via penis exercising. This is a form of natural penis enlargement which utilizes your hands to manipulate the penile tissues through squeezing, twisting, stretching, and bending the penis. These might be a bit difficult to perform on your lunch hour at work, but you can easily do them at home, in private. Twenty minutes a day is usually all that is needed to start seeing demonstrable increases in your penis length and your penis girth.

Biology can teach us a lot about the opposite sex and how to attract them, if we understand what the proper signals are. Using Mother Nature’s wisdom and guidance is one of the absolutely best ways to increase your attractiveness with the opposite sex.

Is it Fake Or Real? How to Spot Real Sterling Silver Jewelry

Silver is an attractive and sophisticated metal that would make a great complement to any jewelry collection. While real silver does not actually cost much, compared to the likes of gold, there remains a wide market for the sale of sterling silver, particularly among the younger consumers.

Unfortunately, to the untrained eye, comparing fake versus sterling silver can be quite a task — and sellers often take advantage of this lack of knowledge and sell fake versions at the price of the authentic ones. Your goal, therefore, is to find out how not to get duped.

Fake Vs Sterling Silver

How can you tell fake from sterling silver? Here are a few tips:

1. Real silver is stamped with a hallmark.

Like gold, authentic silver comes with a small stamp or engraving which contains information about its silversmith and the date it was made. Whether it is machine engraved or hand engraved is pretty easy to distinguish by just looking at it. A stamp that has ‘EPNS’ on it is an indication that it is sterling silver, as it simply means ‘electro plated nickel silver’.

2. Silver jewelry must be at least 92.5% pure silver.

Silver used alone is too soft to function properly as jewelry. Thus, all silver jewelry should be at least 92.5% pure silver, with the rest made up of appropriate alloys to help it harden. This is normally indicated by a “925” engraving on the jewelry itself. Of course, the lower this number, the closer it is to being less and less real silver. These engraving can be difficult to spot-look on the back of pendants, on clasps, and on the inside of rings for real silver markings.

3. Watch out for silver plate: Silver colored jewelry may simply be silver plated.

Silver plated jewelry, which is not totally real silver, would usually have an “A1” stamped on it, along with its makers engraving. When the silver tarnishes or chips off, it reveals the real metal used underneath, which can cause skin problems, like rashes and metal allergies, for some people. Beware of buying items that are simply silver plated, especially if your skin is hypersensitive.

4. Run it through a nitric acid test. A great way to test whether the silver jewelry you have is the real deal is by testing it nitric acid. You can choose to have this done by the local jewelry shop or you may do it yourself.

To do this, select a part of the jewelry that is least noticeable as the site to run your test. Rub this portion thoroughly to cause a break in the plating of the surface. Place a few drops of nitric acid onto the site and wait a few minutes. If the liquid becomes cloudy grey, then it is sterling silver; but if it becomes green, then what you have in your hands is simply silver plated.

Always keep in mind that there is no such thing as silver jewelry that is 100% pure silver. As mentioned earlier, silver has to be mixed with other alloys to make it sturdy enough to serve its purpose. The best way to ensure that you buy only genuine silver pieces is to purchase your jewelry from a trusted seller.

How to Identify Good Quality Sunflower Oil

There are so many types of frying oils out there. There are many brands and each of them has their own formula of ingredients. So how do you identify good quality sunflower oil?

First of all, check the label for the ingredients. Good quality cooking oil will be low in saturated fats and will have a high level of polyunsaturated fats. This balance of saturated and polyunsaturated fats is beneficial for your health. Your body requires a certain level of each type of fat which acts as fuel to sustain your energy levels throughout the day. Another key factor in good quality oil is that it will have little to no cholesterol. In this day and age that we live in, so much of our foods contain unbelievable amounts of cholesterol. This means that you need to use ingredients with no cholesterol to balance your daily food intake so that you can minimise the risk of heart disease.

More ingredients to check for are Anti-foam and Antioxidants. Anti-foam reduces or prevents the excessive foam that occurs during the oil frying process. Antioxidants will increase the life of the cooking oil which makes it safe and healthy to use even after a certain length of time. Always check the expiration date of the oil before using it though.

Sunflower oil naturally has a high heat threshold meaning that even at high temperatures it remains stable. In other words, its goodness is not compromised when it gets to a high level of heat. The ingredients will not be affected by the heat.

Other physical attributes to check in terms of the quality of your sunflower oil are the colour and the odour of the oil. It should have a light golden yellow and translucent colour. It should not be cloudy or foamy. The clarity of the oil is very important. There should be no flakes or bits of any kind in the oil. It should be a smooth and fluid consistency. For this very reason, it’s best not to reuse oil. These benefits are nullified once the oil has been used and can affect your health negatively. Fresh oil is always best.

You will find that most sunflower oil manufacturers take great care in providing you with a good quality product and will ensure that all the health and safety standards are met. But as the consumer, you need to know what is inside a good quality cooking oil. You need to be informed so that you are able to make the best decision for yourself and your family.

Romex Wire is Actually Made With THHN Conductors

Romex is a type of electrical wire that’s mostly used in homes and buildings. The term electrical wire is just more broad and used in the electrical field. There are a few different types of wire in that field like Romex, UFB cable and THHN wire.

THHN wire is a one conductor bare copper wire with a PVC jacket and nylon coating. The most popular awg sizes from my experience are THHN 12 and THHN 4/0. The PVC jacket is the cheapest type of insulation because it doesn’t need any more than that. The nylon coating is for moisture protection and it has a small amount of lubrication for easier installation in conduit. THHN wire can be used indoors, outdoors or in conduit. It cannot be used directly in the ground. Many people ask to use THHN wire as dog fence wire and it doesn’t work.

Romex wire is very similar because it’s a cable filled with two or three THHN wires and a bare copper ground wire. The Romex 14/2 and Romex 6/3 have proven to be the most popular awg sizes based on volume. Romex only has a very light PVC jacket over it so it can’t go outdoors or in conduit at all.

How can THHN wire go outdoors, but then THHN with an additional PVC jacket can’t? The reason is based on the ground wire not the THHN. The ground wire doesn’t have any insulation so if moisture penetrates the outer jacket than it will directly hit the bare copper. Romex cable was made to run more than one conductor at a time along with a ground wire.

The next upgrade is to UFB cable which is a very popular type of electrical wire. It’s the kind of cable that can do almost anything. It was made to be outdoors, in conduit and directly underground. So you might also hear it referred to as underground cable. UFB 6/3 and UFB 8/3 are the most popular awg sizes of underground cable because you’ll usually need a bigger awg size when running the wire outdoors.

As you would probably think, each type of electrical wire gets more expensive as you upgrade because they perform more functions. Most times the wire or cable doesn’t have to go outdoors so the Romex wire is the most popular. The UFB cable isn’t that much more expensive than the Romex because it’s just a different insulation and the biggest cost is the copper inside.
