RV Money Saving Tips – 10 Ways to Save on Your RV’s Propane Gas Consumption

Most appliances in an RV are fueled by propane gas. This includes the furnace, stove, oven and hot water heater. The refrigerator is usually operated on electricity but it is fueled by propane gas when not connected to electricity.

Some higher end RVs can have an electric heat pump which will work in moderately cold temperatures but switches to the propane fueled furnace in extremely cold environments. Some RV’s can also have an electric hot water heater system that can be switched to propane gas.

At most RV parks, electricity is provided as part of your RV site rental (although we have encountered a few parks that charge for electricity). So it makes sense to fully utilize the park’s electricity instead of your RV propane supply. Most of our tips will focus on ways to use the RV park electricity instead of the RV’s propane gas.

Here are ten ways you may not have thought of to reduce the propane gas consumption in your RV:

1. If you have room to store a crock pot/slow cooker in your RV, this is a great way to prepare dinner in the morning and your meal will be ready after a day of sightseeing. In the cooler months, it also helps keep the RV warm as dinner cooks. No need to run the heat all day or come back to a cold RV!

2. Again, if you have storage space, an electric skillet can be used instead of the propane fueled stove. This uses the park’s electricity instead of your propane gas.

3. If you do not have the storage room for an electric skillet, you may want to consider what we have always called a “fifth burner”. It is an electric burner used like a stove (since most stoves have four burners – hence the name the fifth burner). Use it either inside the RV instead of the gas stove to save propane or use it to cook outdoors to save propane and keep the heat out of the RV kitchen in the warmer months! Make sure to use a heavy duty extension cord when using outdoors. There are one and two burner models available.

4. Use the RV’s electricity powered microwave/convection oven instead of the stove and oven that uses propane gas. When I cook in our motorhome, I like to make more than we will eat in one meal so we have leftovers that we can pop into the microwave to reheat.

5. We have used an electric ceramic heater to save RV furnace propane consumption. We do not recommend using a ceramic heater while away from the RV or while sleeping. We used it mostly in the afternoon or evening while watching television and turn it off before going to bed.

6. Since most RV hot water heaters are fueled by propane, consider using the RV parks bathhouse for showering. Check the park’s rules first – some parks will charge for shower use.

7. If your RV’s primary heat is the propane fueled furnace and you travel in cooler months often, you might want to invest in an electric blanket or electric mattress pad. Then turn down the RV’s furnace before going to bed and still keep warm.

8. Upon arrival at your destination and after you plug into the electrical outlet, make sure your RV refrigerator switches over from propane gas to electric. For some reason occasionally our refrigerator will not automatically switch over which burns propane unnecessarily.

9. Cooking outside on a gas grill may not save you as much propane since the gas grill uses propane but there are some benefits. If you can cook your meat plus vegetables and warm the bread all on the grill, this saves using the gas stove and oven in the RV. It also keeps the heat and cooking smells out of the RV. Plus there is the added bonus of enjoying the great outdoors!

10. Over the years, we have noticed more parks banning outdoor fires and not providing the fire pits so common years ago. This seems to be especially true for parks in the western U.S. where it is drier and more prone to wildfires. If the park you are staying at allows outdoor fires either in a fire pit or provides a grill, have a good old hotdog roast and end your meal with roasted marshmallows!

These are some of the ways we have identified to save on our RV’s propane gas consumption. You may identify other ways to save money on your propane gas consumption based on your RV’s features and your RV lifestyle. Most important is to get out in your RV and enjoy the adventure!

Metallic Powder Coating Process – Problem & Solution

Metallic Powder Coating Special Effect Systems

Metallic powder coatings are decorative protective finishes for metal finishing applications. The multi-colored metallic powders are often applied with single application, and then it is top-coated with clear powder to enhance the finish even more.

Metallic and mica powder coatings contain metal flake or mica particulate matter that gives these coatings their special appearance. These flakes and particulars are a freestanding component. Metallic and mica powder coatings are homogeneously blended with a base color powder and are referred to as Dry-Blended powders. They are available in Epoxy, Hybrid, Urethane, and TGIC Polyester chemistries.

The problems faced with dry-blended powders are with color consistency, limited penetration in recessed areas, and their limited ability to be recycled. Dry-blended powders are usually applied using a corona gun with a flat spray nozzle. Metallic and mica powder coatings are processed by physically bonding them to the surface of the powered coating. Generally, all of the metallic or mica particles are bonded, however some may not be firmly attached and can cause various problems in the finishing process.

Bonded metallic and mica powder has fewer lines than dry blended powders and are more readily recyclable. In addition, they also provide color that is more consistent after recycling and less picture frame effect, as well as a better penetration and higher transfer efficiency. Even though bonded metallic and mica powder can be reclaimed, it is always best to minimize the ration of reclaimed powder to virgin powder so that you will produce the best possible finish. Bonded powders are available in Epoxy, Hybrid, Urethane, and TGIC polyester chemistries.

Metallic powders do have some drawbacks associated with them. The first being that aluminized powder finishes do have a tendency to look weathered with time. Another drawback is loading, which is an uncontrollable loss of electrostatic high-voltage power at the tip of the spray gun and occurs because the metallic powder has created a ground path through the powder hose for the high voltage to travel. To reduce loading, a specially designed spray muzzle can be used if the amount of metal in the powder is not excessive.

The use of metallic powder has been the cause of several spray booth fires. Spice powder coatings are unique blends of multiple finished powder colors, resulting in a highly aesthetic and protective coating. These multi-colored powders are available in Epoxy, Hybrid, Urethane, and TGIC Polyester chemistries. Spice powder coatings are most often used for end use applications such as casual furniture, shelving, case goods, and leisure equipment. However, spice powder coatings can be used for other items.

Spice powder coatings do pose some challenges for the applicator when compared to the use and application of smooth, solid color powders. Therefore, applicators need to apply a consistent and even pattern to guarantee film thickness consistency and produce a quality appearance. Because of the nature of the spice powder coatings, the color and appearance may vary when the powder is reclaimed. In addition, substrate density can affect flow and appearance of the finished product.

Since metallic powder of this type is made by adding pure finely ground mica or aluminum or bronze particles, you are actually spraying a mix of both the plastic powder and the fine aluminum powder mixed with it. With different guns the metallic particles in relation to the ground object may orient themselves differently. The orientation of the aluminum particles will determine the final finish.

1. Reduce dosing air, as low as possible to get a smooth soft flow.

2. Preferably use Dipstick or gravity cup so that fluidization air flow does not disturb particle size distribution. 3. Increase distance between gun and object to at least 8 inch or more.

4. Try with different nozzle especially soft flow nozzle.

5. Make sure that the powder coated material is put straight in an oven temperature of 200ºC —- if the oven will be at room temperature, the coating will flow at 150° and disturb the texture thus creating a smooth finish.

Thinking of Buying a Second-hand Piano Privately?

Hundreds of second-hand pianos change hands privately every year. Only a mall number are in good playing condition. We know for buying second-hand pianos and preparing them for resale is an important part of our business. Of the many pianos offered to us we actually buy fewer than one in ten of them – and almost every one needs work on it to a greater or lesser extent

When looking for a piano it is important to remember two things.

Pianos are not all of the same quality.

Before 1914, in the boom years of piano sales, huge numbers were made in small workshops to satisfy the demand for cheap pianos. They were of poor quality when new and hundreds are still around, several generations later, in dreadful condition.

There were some excellent pianos made in the 1920’s and 1930’s. They are now 60,70,80, years old – nearly old age in the lifespan of a piano. If they have been well maintained during their life they can still be good instruments, but if they have been neglected or abused they will be tired, second rate pianos.

Some will be “the family heirloom” passed down through several generations, much loved but often unplayed and neglected. Such pianos may have sentimental value to their owners but their true worth, as a playing piano, may be nil.

Pianos do not last forever

A piano is made up of around 5000 parts many of which move. Although enormously strong and heavy it is very complicated and sensitive to damp, dryness, changes in temperature, wear and tear and neglect.

A good piano, well maintained, has much the same useful lifespan as a human – few are in really good shape after 80 years! Remember that the piano you buy will probably be the only one you ever buy so look for the youngest and best quality instrument you can find.

So What Should I Look For In A Second-hand Piano?

Very few people have any technical knowledge about pianos. The list below will give you an idea of some of the problems often found in second-hand pianos.

Sticking keys or hammers

This is usually the result of being in a damp atmosphere. The felt absorbs moisture, swells and movement is restricted. If only one or two notes are sticking it may be possible to ease them. If lots are sticking the action (i.e. the moving parts inside the piano) probably needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. Expensive!

Noisy keys or noise from the action

A sign of wear. A tuner may be able to make adjustments to lessen the unwanted noises but if it is badly worn a rebuild will be required.

Hard Tone

Probably the result of worn and compressed hammer felts. If they are not too badly worn they may be able to be reshaped. Really heavily worn hammers cannot be treated in this way and new hammerheads need to be fitted.

Dull, dead tone

This may be partially due to worn hammers but is more likely to indicate that the piano strings have lost their original suppleness and need replacing. This is a major undertaking and only high quality pianos can justify the cost.

The dull tone may also be the result of splits having developed in the wooden soundboard. These can be repaired but, again, it is only worth doing this to really good pianos.

Out of tune

Every piano goes out of tune as the tension in the strings changes slightly. If the entire piano is out of tune it is probably because it has not been tuned for some time. Depending upon how far it has fallen below pitch one or more tunings should put this right.

If, However, only one section of a few notes is really very badly out of tune and is clearly very much worse than the rest of the piano, this signals really problems. IT si likely that the tuning plank has lost its ability to hold the tuning pins tightly enough to keep tension on the strings. It is common on pianos made before the 1960’s. They were not built to withstand the dry atmospheres created by modern central heating systems. The timber loses moisture and shrinks, the pins go slack and the piano is beyond economical repair and useless for playing purposes. Avoid at all costs.

More common in older pianos. They attack the timber – look for small holes and tiny heaps of wood dust. To check, the piano needs to be dismantled as far as practicable and closely examined with a torch. Look behind it and under the keyboard. Avoid anything that has or has had woodworm.

Moths and mice

Damage the felt hammers, dampers and key washers. Minor damage is not important but extensive damage is costly to put right.

Cracked frames

The strings are carried on a cast iron frame. Examine the entire frame carefully with a torch. Although cracked frames are not common, should the frame be cracked the piano is a write off.

Uneven piano keys

Kneel down until your eyes are level with the piano keys. They should be level along the whole length. If they are not they will need to be adjusted by a skilled piano tuner to make the piano easier to play.

If the keys form an arc with either a rise or a depression in the centre it is probable that the wooden frame on which the keys sit has warped. Avoid.

Pedals not working

The pedals are connected to the action by levers. If the levers are dislodged the “loud” or “soft” pedals will not work. Relatively simple to put right but best done by a piano tuner.

The condition of the casework has no bearing on whether the piano plays properly or not. The heart of the piano is inside – the casework is largely decorative. A clean attractive case can conceal a total wreck inside. Never buy a second hand piano just because the case work looks good or will match your room.

If you do find a piano which plays well but has casework in poor condition remember that although pianos can be stripped and repolished the cost is such that only pianos of really good quality can ever justify the expense.

* Pianos with fretwork fronts – very old

* Pianos with candlesticks or candlestick marks (look carefully). They are likely to be at least 90 years old.

* Pianos with flowers and garlands inlaid. Pretty but again pre-1914.

* Pianos with heavily carved legs

* Pianos with wooden pedals with brass button ends

* Pianos advertised as “suit beginner”. They are almost without exception dreadful pianos which the owner wants to get rid of and are usually totally unsuitable for any pianist.

* Pianos with wooden frames.

* Pianos stored in garages or outhouses. We’ve yet to come across one in decent condition after being stored in an outhouse.

* Pianos which have not been tuned or played for years.

Buy if possible

Overstrung pianos i.e. the bass and treble strings cross over each other

Pianos which were new from the 1950’s on. They are best in central heating

Pianos which have been regularly tuned and maintained. Ask who the piano tuner is and check with him on the condition of the piano – he will remember it.

Extra costs

Remember that in addition to the cost of the piano you will have the expense of

* Following up any pianos offered (mileage, time and frustration!)

* Transport, especially if stairs are involved

* Tuning once in your home

* Essential repairs recommended by the tuner

Together this generally adds up to around £200 and my be very much more if your piano needs a lot of work.

Expert Advice

The person selling the piano may genuinely be unaware of the faults in their piano (and some may well be aware but say nothing!) Before you buy privately please, please ask a reputable independent piano tuner to check the piano for you. He will charge you for this but may save you wasting money through buying a bad piano. We regret that because we may well be competing against you to purchase the piano in which you are interested we cannot be considered to be impartial and cannot provide this service.

How much should I pay?

An impossible question to answer since the value depends upon its original quality, present condition, age and how much it will cost to bring it into proper playing condition.

One word of advice though- never, ever buy a piano simply because it is cheap. Cheap pianos are cheap because they are usually worthless as playing instruments. There may be rare cases where good quality pianos are sold below their true market value but your chance of coming across this kind of bargain is about the same as winning the lottery.

Equally do not think that by paying more to a private seller that it guarantees that you are buying a good quality piano. Most piano owners have a greatly inflated idea of how much their piano is worth and ask a price which may have no relation to its age, condition or true value.

We have to repeat – before you part with money please get a report from an independent tuner.

Home Decorating for Christmas

People in general will do Christmas home decorating during the period before Thanksgiving and up until the day before Christmas. No matter when you do yours it is usually a yearly event that includes all family members and maybe some friends. We are always looking for ways to make it better than last year. Not to mention the competitiveness among neighbors to have the best looking yard and home.

There are many ideas out there for home decorating but to find those special ways to decorate in never easy. You must use your imagination and let it run wild. We are fortunate to have the means to get ideas from home decor businesses and home decorating professionals as they are aware of our need for helpful ideas. There are many websites and magazines that go all out to provide us with ideas and what materials we will need to complete our visions. We like to use our traditional Christmas items that we have accumulated from years past, but we can also run out to the stores to get new items that are in for the year to add to our collection.

When we think of Christmas decorating colors, the first ones to come to mind are red and green. If you read decorating articles they will tell you that there is no reason to just choose these colors as there are many beautiful colors that you can use to enhance your home. So you may come across silver, blue, yellow or even purple in store displays. Let your individuality run wild and give uniqueness to your decorating ideas.

Some of the things we do year after year are:

• Decorate the handrails on your stairs – We use garlands, ribbons, bows, fresh cuttings from the holly berry bush we have in the yard and sometimes we even hang stockings.

• Decorate the front door with a wreath. I think the ones that are made fresh each year are much nicer.

• Create tree ornaments each year to have everlasting memories from years past.

• Add items to the front yard. We planted a Blue Spruce tree last year and plan to add solar powered lights to it this year.

• Placing candles around the house. We like real candles in the house to add a nice aroma, but the electric candles in the window add a nice touch also.

• Adding wrapped gift boxes on the front porch is a nice addition.

Grand Designs Church Redevelopment Led To Divorce And Two Heart Attacks

A gentleman, who appeared on Grand Designs when his church renovation was featured, has had two heart attacks and divorced since commencing the build, but he insists that it was all worth it. Dean Marks felt that the upset in his personal life was a small price to pay for the completion of his dream home. The dilapidated 18th century St Martin’s Church in Tipton, West Midlands is now a modern residential home and the presenter Kevin McCloud has called his efforts in achieving his dream “inspiring”.

Mr Marks wanted to convert the Grade II listed former church and turn it into a luxury home for him and his family, but the stress of the project led to him and his wife divorcing and suffered two heart attacks. He felt that the project exhausted him so much that this was the likelihood of both heart attacks. Mr Marks also had to endure a few operations to repair bone and ligament damage to his shoulder all caused through the work involved and is battling testicular cancer. He also had the added stress of having to install CCTV cameras around the building whilst work was being carried out due to repeated attacks from thieves and vandals.

Mr Marks bought the church 1999 for £12,750 but it is now worth an amazing £1.3million. Mr Marks has no regrets about the personal traumas suffered as he has completed his dream home. Mr Marks used to live in a three bedroom semi-detached home in Halesowen and even though he did not class himself as being obsessed with the build, but he did concentrate a great deal on getting his ambition achieved.

Once he had bought the church he spent four and half years trying to persuade Sandwell Council to grant planning permission to renovate it. He finally achieved this in 2005 and was able to begin work. He installed 11 miles of cabling for the electrics and over three and a half miles of pipes for the heating. However the renovation bill came to a grand total of just £110,000. The house boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, gym, library and even an indoor swimming pool. He used the old church pews left in the church and created units in the kitchen and has also incorporated the original stained glass windows into the design. The top of the property has a glass observatory which allows views of Lichfield Cathedral, over 14 miles away, if it is a clear day.

The producers of the show asked Mr Marks twice if he would appear on the programme. The first time he refused because he did not want to feel intruded upon. The second time they asked he accepted as he felt that they would give him more motivation towards the build. Filming took place over 21 months and aired in April 2007, this was when he had his first attack. Later that year Mr Marks was runner up in Grand Designs national awards and speaks regularly at their Live shows at the NEC in Birmingham.

It just goes to show that if you have dream then with enough motivation you can achieve it. Even if there is some challenges along the way. The equity in the home though is quite astounding.

5 Ways to Get a Dead Spy Pen to Work

If you have a Spy Pen, sometimes it just appears to be either stuck with the light on, or dead and won’t turn on. We wrote this report to show you some of the tricks we found to getting your it to work again.

1. Perform A Hard Reset

The majority of the time, just inserting the end of a paper clip in the opening below the status light on the back, and performing a hard reset, will get your Spy Pen working. Just bend a small paper clip end out, and insert straight into the opening. When you meet resistance, push lightly, and you can feel the reset button depressed.

Make sure it goes straight in, and not at an angle, or you could damage some of the components inside. Let go and try to turn it on.

2. Rule Out The USB Cable

If you are using a USB cable to either connect the Spy Pen to your computer, or to the 110V wall charger adapter, one day the cable will fail. If you use the USB cable because you can’t connect the pen directly to the computer, try just plugging it directly into the computer.

Don’t use a USB hub, as sometimes there is not enough power for the it; just connect it directly to the computers USB port. On some computers, use the USB port on the back, as front USB ports are sometimes weaker.

3. Rule Out The 110V Wall Charger

Just like the USB cable, the 110V wall charger adapter will also fail at some point; so if it does not seem to take a charge, try charging it for 3 hours in the computers USB port. If the status light is on while its charging, its getting electricity to charge the battery.

4. Put The Spy Pen Back In Video Mode

Several Spy Pens have switches to go to photo mode, or voice activation mode. If you move the switch to change modes, and you do not move it back to video mode, the computer will say it is not recognized. Try moving the switch back to the original position.

5. Erase & Reformat The Spy Pen

If the Spy Pen shows up as a removable drive on your PC, just right click on the icon and let go on “Format.” Then check the “Quick Format” button, then hit OK. The drive will be erased, and reformatted. This usually takes care of any pens that make it this far.

On an Apple computer, use Disc Utility to erase the drive and format as MS DOS 32. Then eject properly; on a Mac, right click on the drive and select eject. On a PC, click on the green Left arrow down at the lower right part of the monitor, then click on eject to properly eject the device.

That’s our report on “5 Ways To Get A Dead Spy Pen To Work.” If your pen still won’t work, and you purchased it from us, you have a 365-day no B.S. replacement policy. If not, you will need to contact the company you got it from.

Fact Causes and Treatment for Baldness

Hair Loss is one of the most common conditions affecting over 80% of the world’s population at some stage in their lives. One of the most common types of hair loss is androgenic alopecia, which affects both men and women but is worse in the former. If left untreated, hair fall can lead to baldness, which can wreck havoc with self esteem, affecting your self confidence, which can ultimately have serious implications on your social behavior.

Causes of baldness

Baldness is mostly associated with genetics and hormonal changes, which are without any doubt two most common causes of hair loss leading to baldness. However, there are numerous other factors as well that can cause severe hair loss. These include:

  • Health issues: your hair fall can be cause of certain diseases, such as hypothyroidism, high grade fever – especially after typhoid – alopecia areata and anemia.
  • Nutritional deficiencies: Nutritional deficiencies may also cause hair fall. These include iron deficiency, low vitamin levels, disturbed iodine levels.
  • Sudden weight loss: sudden weight loss due to any factor – be it some disease or crash diet – can also cause severe hair loss.
  • Medications and treatments: there several medications and treatments – like cancer treatment (chemotherapy) and immune suppression medications – that can cause the patient to lose hair.
  • Physical and emotional stress: both physical and emotional stress result in hair loss. You may not see the impact immediately as hair loss generally starts several months after you have gone through a trauma.
  • Not following proper hair care: if not taken proper care off, your hair may start falling. Taking proper care means good hair hygiene, conditioning and shampooing hair regularly, brushing, dyeing, drying and styling hair properly.

What is male pattern baldness?

Male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia is often attributed to genes and hormones, though the exact cause is yet to be known. This kind of hair loss pattern generally runs in the family and mostly affects the male members of the family. Since the hormones responsible for this type of hair fall are also present in females, some women also experience this type of baldness but this is very rare. The onset of this type of baldness can be as early as late teens. More than 70% of the men suffering from male pattern baldness start exhibiting hair fall symptoms by their mid 20s.

Myths about baldness:

  • You inherit baldness from your maternal family – this is nothing more than a myth. You can inherit male pattern baldness from either side of the family and sometimes both as well.
  • Longer hairs put a strain on the roots, causing the hair to fall out – this statement, once again, has no reality in it. Weight of hair itself can never cause it to fall out.
  • Wearing hats can trigger baldness in specific areas – hats have got nothing to do with your blood circulation neither do they pull out your hair.
  • Shampooing can accelerate balding – while excessive shampooing can damage your hair shafts, it does not have any access to the roots, and thus cannot be a factor contributing to baldness
  • Poor blood circulation in scalp does not cause hair fall – blood supply to the scalp as well as its circulation in the scalp plays vital role in determining the health and life of hair follicles. Poor blood supply weakens the roots, causing the hair follicles to fall out. This sort of hair fall can be effectively treated through massaging.

Treatments for baldness:

There are numerous scientifically proven and FDA-approved treatments for baldness. These include oral and topical medications as well as surgical and non-surgical procedures, and all of them are equally effective for both men and women.

  • Minoxidil (Rogaine) – this is a topical medication that can be easily bought from any drug store without a prescription. This application can be used by both men and women and it works best for hair loss on the frontal lobes as well as crown. This medication comes in 2% and 4% solution. An extra strength 5% solution is also available but that is for people suffering from excessive hair loss. Minoxidil can significantly control hair loss, but it may or may not trigger hair regrowth. But the most irritating part is that you need to apply it once or twice daily for an unlimited period of time and this is what makes it a not so preferred choice of patients suffering from hair loss.
  • Finasteride (Propecia) – this is also an FDA-approved medication that is used for treating androgenic alopecia and that too only in men and this prescription oral medication not only helps reduce hair loss but also blocks Dihydrotestosterone – a male sex hormone responsible for male pattern baldness and this oral medication has shown encouraging results in not only controlling hair loss but also in re-growing hairs. But the downside of Finasteride is that it has got some very serious side effects that can overrule its advantages.
  • ACell/PRP Hair Loss Therapy – It is a non-invasive hair loss treatment that involves injecting a mixture of ACell (growth factor) and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) into the patient’s scalp to make the miniaturized hair follicles under the skin surface healthier and stronger. This ultimately triggers hair regrowth.
  • Hair Transplant Surgery – If you are seeking an instant and guaranteed treatment for baldness, Hair Transplant Surgery may be an option worth considering and it is a surgical hair restoration procedure in which hair follicles are taken from the baldness resistant areas of your own scalp – generally back or side of the head – and are transplanted into the bald patches or the areas with thinning hair. Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) are the two most commonly used donor graft extraction techniques.

My Husband Has More Chemistry With The Woman He’s Having An Affair With Than He Does With Me

I recently heard from a wife who was trying to get her husband to leave the woman with whom he was having an affair. On the one hand, the husband was insisting that he still loved his wife and wanted to save the marriage. But on the other hand, he refused to leave the other woman. He just wasn’t willing to let her go. This infuriated the wife. She didn’t understand what this other person could possibly offer the husband that was more important to him than his family. The wife continued to press him and finally the husband admitted that he felt “chemistry” with the other woman that he didn’t feel for his wife.

Needless to say, the wife was stunned and furious to hear this. She said in part: “how are you supposed to respond or feel when your husband tells you that he feels passion and chemistry for another woman that he doesn’t feel for you? This floors me on so many levels because my first priority was my marriage. I can’t picture myself divorced and I don’t want my children to grow up not living with their father. But I don’t know how I can possibly overcome or compete with this chemistry thing. Part of me thinks I should try to heat things up between us, but the other part of me thinks that I want nothing to do with him while he’s having a passionate relationship with someone else.”

Although I marveled at the husband’s candor, this situation isn’t all that uncommon. Men often use words like passion, chemistry, or intensity when they describe what they feel or hope that they have with the other woman. After all, they’re trying to justify their actions. So they’re going to try to build up this relationship and present it as something that is just too strong or too special to resist. The thing that many do not understand is that, with time and reality, they will eventually realize that their “chemistry” was all a facade that is going to fade with time anyway. I’ll tell you why in the following article.

Although Your Husband May Be Taking About Chemistry With The Other Woman Now, The Odds Are Good That The Intensity Is Not Going To Last: It’s very common for men to say that the other woman makes them feel “alive” or “invigorated” in the early stages of the relationship. This is when everything is new and they are still hiding the affair. This sort of clandestine relationship sometimes enhances the excitement which they often see or mistake as a spark or as chemistry. But at this point, the wife knew all about the affair. They weren’t sneaking around any longer so some of the excitement associated with that was going to end.

Also, as the relationship between the people who are cheating ages, those intense feelings will often wane in the same way that it has between the two spouses. People often really want to believe that they’ve met their soul mate or their one true love when they cheat (since this is how they justify their behavior) but this is rarely the case. Statistics about the longevity of relationships that begin in deception are not good or promising. They show that chances are very good that the relationship will not last.

So, What Do You Do When You Want To Save Your Marriage But Your Husband Is Claiming To Have Chemistry With Someone Else? That’s not a decision that I can make for you. I can tell you that although it may be tempting to try to compete with the other woman while the cheating is still happening, it’s rarely a healthy thing for you in the end. Trying to generate chemistry with your husband when you know that he’s doing the same with someone else is probably going to be a painful experience and it doesn’t usually help your marriage either (because awkwardness and resentment usually cloud the whole process.)

It’s my opinion that you will have a better chance of success if you make it clear that while you are open to the idea of salvaging your marriage at a later time, you’re not going to even start the process until he has completely ended the relationship with her. Sometimes, he will chose you. Other times, you may have to wait until their relationship fizzles out or ends. But when it does, you have put yourself in a much better situation than if you’re trying to compete.

Many wives understand this in theory but they aren’t sure how to respond to a husband who is swearing that he loves them but has conflicted feelings. A suggestion might be something like: “I hear your words, but I can’t respond to them until I know that I am only dealing with the two of us. I can’t continue to be intimate with you when I know that you are being intimate with someone else. If and when you end the relationship, then I might be willing to listen and to eventually try to salvage our marriage. Until then, I’m going to be working on myself because it’s not healthy or right for me to have a physical relationship with you when you are not being faithful.”

Frankly, the “working on myself” part should not be empty words. It’s likely that your self esteem has been hugely affected by this. Never underestimate your own needs right now. It’s perfectly fine (and advisable) to turn your attention away from them and to focus in on yourself. That way, when or if your husband does end the relationship, you will be stronger and more in tune with what you want and need.

If My Husband Ends The Affair, Will We Ever Get The Passion Back In Our Marriage?: Many wives feel a great deal of anxiety about this question. They worry that their husband will never feel for them what he feels for the other woman. They feel stress because they think that the mistress has some sort of hold over their husband or some sort of sexual prowess with which they can’t compete. And unfortunately, these doubts can really hurt your confidence level which in turn can hurt your chemistry.

I believe that it is possible to regain the passion or chemistry after an affair, but it does take time and healing. Most people do not appreciate the connection between the health of your marriage, your own self esteem, and the sex that follows. It’s usually not until your marriage, your trust, and your confidence is back on solid ground that you begin to get the sexual chemistry and passion back.

Explaining the Army’s Battle Buddy System

The Army has this little thing these days called a battle buddy system. It works by having every soldier accompanied by another one soldier of the same sex or another two soldiers of the opposite sex wherever they are. This rule is there for the protection of individual soldiers and cadre in AIT and BCT.

The battle buddy system is a procedure in which two people (the buddies) operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other. In dangerous activities the main purpose of the system is improved safety. Each soldier may prevent the other from becoming a casualty.

In AIT this system becomes more important due to the additional freedom and privileges after basic training. It also becomes a risk and puts soldiers at a disadvantage. While necessary in a high risk location or in combat, it is almost a hazard in AIT. Instead of looking out for each other like you would in combat, it is so unstable and unnecessary in AIT, that it becomes a tool to get gossip or an easier way to take advantage of a weaker person.

Because the system is used everywhere, a soldier must be accompanied by a battle buddy even to talk about personal issues with a chaplain. Even choosing someone that you trust puts you at risk in this sort of situation when sharing personal information. Because there are so many less females in the Army as oppose to males, many female soldiers end up with two male battle buddies instead of a single female simply because there are not enough around. If the two male soldiers are friends, how much easier would it be to take advantage of that female? This is an example of a very bad scenario, none the less, a possible and realistic one.

A more frequent situation is when a male or female has a personal issue to resolve with a person of the opposite sex and they must each bring a battle buddy. Fellow soldiers in AIT, no matter how much of a friend they might seem, just cannot always be trusted with your personal information. This is an example of how easy it is for gossip to spread around the company and depending on what information was shared, it may be harmful to someone who is involved. Another flaw in the system is that it sometimes serves as a crutch for the incompetent or psychologically insecure. The weaker soldier draining the stronger one in whatever way.

The policy on the battle buddy system says that it “helps to reduce stress, teaches teamwork, develops a sense of responsibility for fellow soldiers, and improves safety… It protects soldiers and cadre from sexual harassment and other discrimination.” However, in the same paragraph it is mentioned that “Battle buddy team integrity is desired but not required… They should pull CQ and Fireguard together. The only expectations are for sick call, individual appointments and religious activity attendance. At these times, other solders may team up together regardless of the platoon. AT NO TIME WILL AIT SOLDIERS TRAVEL ANYWHERE ON THE INSTALLATION WITHOUT A BATTLE BUDDY.”

First of all, it does not help to reduce stress most of the time but instead it adds stress to any situation because another person is involved. Instead of keeping personal affairs quiet, you now have to worry about another person aware of the situation. Not to mention the stress of finding a battle buddy (or two) to begin with.

Secondly, while the system can improve teamwork, it can also instigate hostile feelings, fights, and arguments. Supposing that your battle buddy (or two) and you don’t get along, it can make any situation uncomfortable, making the mission harder to accomplish, again, also adding stress.

Thirdly, “developing a sense of responsibility for fellow soldiers…” is quite stressful in itself, especially when your battle is irresponsible or immature.

Finally, let me quote again “improves safety” because it most certainly does not. I can remember a time when I was in the second grade and my elementary school implemented a buddy system. I was seven years old and I had to sit by my buddy at lunch, play with her at recess, and do assignments with her in class. Even though she wasn’t any older than me, she always screwed me over because she was dumb and I had to do most of the work for any project we had to do together. On top of that I would get points knocked off my grade for her lack of intelligence.

That was in second grade, I was seven. Ten years later, I never thought that I’d still have the same problem or have to take a “buddy” with me to the bathroom. I never thought that I’d be afraid to go to church because I would have to walk there with two males I don’t even know, both much bigger than me, and both equipped with huge sex drives since they just came from BCT.

Basically my point is that the battle buddy system is so abused in AIT, that I believe it is more harmful than effective.

There has been, however, plenty of times where I have requested a specific person to aid me in talking to a sergeant or going to the hospital for moral support. In these cases, I was very glad for the help and I appreciated the moral support. The thing of it all is that I can specifically ask to bring a witness or friend with me anyway so it wasn’t because of the system. I’ve had more bad experiences with this system than good.

My solution to this problem would be having the battle buddy system to be allowed butt not required. I would also suggest the use of permanent buddies, because this way you have time to at least build a relationship with the person who will spend so much time with you.

The flaw with this idea also being that every appointment you have you force the same person to miss class or and take the time from whatever they may need to be doing.

The battle buddy system may work in other environments, but it just isn’t necessary in AIT.

What is the Best Processor For a Laptop?

A processor is the heart of a computer be it a desktop computer or a laptop. It is a microchip, which is fitted within the motherboard in a special socket meant for it. A laptop processor controls the flow of data, providing logical tasks in the laptop. It is one of the most important components of a laptop since it actually carries out the entire data processing task. Higher is the speed of your processor, the better will be your laptop function. The unit for measuring the speed of a processor is Gigahertz or GHz. Usually processors can have a speed ranging between 2.6 GHz to 3.66 GHz.

There are mainly two significant manufacturers namely Intel and AMD. Both the manufacturers offer different series of these processing devices. These are listed below:

Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M:

The Pentium 4-M laptop processor has a speed up to 2.6 GHz. It consumes less power, does not support hyper threading and runs cooler. Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M works best with the mid-range laptops.

Mobile Intel Celeron:

Mobile Intel Celeron is mainly found in cheap laptops. It has a speed of up to 2.4 GHz. This processor is best suited for people who use laptops to run basic applications like MS office and similar other light applications. The Mobile Intel Celeron, due to its small on-chip cache memory is not as powerful as other processors.

Intel Pentium M:

Intel Pentium M processor, which is a part of the Intel Centrino package, is an upgraded version of Mobile Pentium 4 processors. There are different variations in these laptop processors. The earlier version of Intel Pentium M processor had 1 MB and 2 MB of level 2 cache, but the latest version has an added 533 MHz front side bus support. Pentium M performs effectively and provides tremendous battery savings.

AMD Mobile Athlon:

AMD Mobile Athlon is a low budget laptop processor. It is cheap and offers reliable performance.

AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M:

AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M is the successor of the AMD mobile Athlon processor. It is an improved version that has double the cache memory from its predecessor. AMD mobile Athlon is inexpensive and offers better performance than Pentium laptop processors.

Anal Fistula – Homeopathic Treatment

Anal fistula, anorectal fistula or fistula-in-ano, as it is called, is the abnormal connection or passageway near the anus area between the organs which are not connected. Fistula occurs when an abscess develops in the anal glands and when the opening of the glands gets blocked; the infection is confined to that area as it is not able to drain out in the rectum. It forms an abscess or a pus boil which will keep on growing inwards to form a tract. Its primary opening is inside the anal canal and the secondary is in the peri-anal skin. Whenever the opening gets blocked, an abscess develops and the tract will increase in size. There may also be more openings or multiple tracts in a chronic case. It is a very rare case and can happen in 10 out of 100,000 population. Males are more prone to this with people from the age group of 30-50 years.

There is a surgical procedure for the treatment of anal fistula. But sadly, it proves to be a temporary solution as the fistulas recur. The surgery has its own risks and complications like bleeding, delayed wound healing, urinary retention, stool incontinence, stenosis due to fibrosis, thrombosed hemorrhoids, fecal impaction and many more. The risks can be prevented and one can get to know about it through online healthcare services.

Homeopathy has a long term solution for such long term suffering, continuing years after the surgery. Though homeopathy has not been termed as exact science and been ridiculed as a placebo effect, it does work slowly and steadily to relieve from pain. The homeopathic medicine first works on controlling the infection which helps to prevent the formation and development of abscess. It then works on development of new tissues to close down the tract. When the tissues are re-deposited, the opening is closed and fistula gets cured permanently. Homeopathy is slow and steady and the treatment may get prolonged, based on the depth and length of the tract. May be surprised One to know That there are On 72 remedies in homeopathy for Anal Fistula .

Homeopathic medicine like Hepar Sulphuricum is given when the patient has a large and painful abscess near the anal region. The medicine causes the abscess to open up and drain out the pus. The medicine Silica is used when the fistula recurs frequently and does not heal completely. Due to this, chronic constipation occurs and the rectal muscles do not function properly. The fistula problem alternates with the chest problems and in this medication, the abscess and fistula leave thick scars. The inter-current remedy when all other medicines are failing is Bacillinum, which improves vitality and clears up the case.

3 Clever Ideas On How To Re-Use An Old Vacuum Cleaner

Have you ever considered what you are going to do with your vacuum cleaner once it has already reached its expiration date? You can’t just stash it in the attic or dump it in the landfill. Other people have placed their old vacuum cleaner to good use. You can certainly do the same.

I collected a few ideas and here are some of the cleverest ones:

1. Hovercraft

This is an air-cushioned vehicle. These are often used to travel by water. You can make a toy hovercraft that can be used for leisure during summer seasons. You need the blower outlet of your vacuum cleaner or your Shopvac. You also need plywood, plastic sheet, small plastic disk bolts and wood screw. Also prepare the tools like drill, electric saber saw, duct tape and staple gun.

Make a disk from the plywood. Some people use square-shaped plywood but you can always try using round-shaped ones to avoid splintering your skin with the sharp edges of square-shaped plywood.

Measure the center of the disk and drill a hole with about 5/16 inches of size. This will allow a 2-inch bolt to slide easily inside. Also make a hole with the size of your vacuum cleaner blower. Trace it first with pencil so you can accurately cut out the hole. This will prevent leaks.

Now make the plastic sheet. Lay the circular plywood over a large plastic sheet. Wrap the edges of the plastic around the disk. Use your staple gun to fasten the sheet to the plywood. Get a discarded coffee can lid and drill a hold on the center. Connect it to the bottom part of the hovercraft.

Use a sharp knife and cut six exhaust holes. They should all have uniform 2-inch sizes. Flip the hovercraft to the other side. The plastic sheet should be at the bottom of the floor. Place your vacuum cleaner’s hose to the hole and switch it on. It should already inflate and glide around.

2. Backpack Bug Catcher

You don’t have to hire pest controllers as you can make the machine that will remove the bugs around your home. Purchase durable bag made from plastic or hard-sided bag. Drill a hole to the side of the bag and install the suction part of the vacuum machine.

3. Use attachments as cleaning materials

You can simply use the discarded attachments as manual tools for cleaning. Remove the rolling brush and use it to clean small rugs or carpets.

Kundalini: Opening the Third Eye

I’ve received many emails about the Awakening Kundalini CD. And I thank everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences with me. There are also a lot of great questions coming in, which are an inspiration for me to write more on the subject. A recent inquiry came in about what happens when the third eye opens.

One of the most widespread misunderstandings about awakening Kundalini is that it awakens all at once, and that the Third Eye opens completely, and we will suddenly be flooded with psychic visions that might make us feel crazy and out of control.

Charkas are like an aperture of a camera lens that when opened are flooded with light, with energy with information. To take a picture, to record every little point of reflection, the aperture need only open briefly to capture hundreds of thousands of minute details.

It’s the same with the third eye, or any of the charkas for that matter. When the third eye opens, the mind is flooded with light, insights, and inspiration. This is a very common meditation experience. It can happen gradually over time, or quite suddenly. If the third eye opens wide and it’s sudden, it usually occurs for a period of time, and then re-calibrates to a new aperture setting that is more open than before, but not wide open continuously.

When we fall in love. The heart chakra opens wide. Love pours in and gushes out. The world is ripe with possibility and charged with electricity. And then our hearts settle down and get comfortable with the relationship. I’m reminded of the Zen saying, “First enlightenment. Then the laundry.” Some people complain of boredom when all the excitement subsides. This grievance applies to both people who have had dramatic Kundalini experiences and to those who are hooked on the thrill of new love, but grow weary of working to keep a relationship vital.

Beginning meditators report all kinds of phenomenon, which aren’t really phenomenon, but rather the first opening of the inner senses: Visions, profound feelings, the smelling of scents that are not physically present, etcetera. Kundalini awakens through meditation, whether you put that name on it or not. When the mind is still, Kundalini can rise.

My first significant Kundalini experience happened quite early on in my meditation practice. I experienced it as a sudden blast of golden light that exploded in my head and then cascaded through my whole body. The aperture opened wide. My brain opened up to knowledge that seemed to reside outside the borders of my conscious mind. My heart opened and I felt the presence of God. I even heard a voice that was not my own. In that brief moment, perhaps 10 minutes, perhaps 20, I don’t know, the shutter opened and I received a vision that irrevocably changed my life. When I told my meditation teacher about the event, she smiled and called it an “illumination.” She gave me the impression that this is normal and that one mustn’t get overly identified or attached to the experience.

The bliss, the excitement, the love, the new knowledge and inspiration continued on for weeks. But then, as I acted on the guidance, the energy evened out. Another way of saying it is—It became familiar. This is how Kundalini awakenings can be. At first, utterly amazing; and then the body re-adjusts and it doesn’t seem so earthshaking.

Some accounts of Kundalini experience are profoundly moving and others sound like psychotic episodes. The scary accounts I believe are to be taken with a grain of salt. Kundalini experiences are subjective. It’s all in the interpretation. If your third eye opens and you suddenly know things that you didn’t know before, or see things that you couldn’t see before it could seem frightening, especially if you have no context for it. My gut reaction to the people who write about the terrors of Kundalini, is that they are working through their fears of powerlessness and victimization. If they owned their part in the process and did not blame it on Kundalini, they would tell quite a different story.

Kundalini pushes fears and egoic structures to the surface to be released. If you don’t want to let go of these, then it’s probably best not to practice Kundalini meditation. (visit The Center for Meditation & Transformation for more information and a free guided meditation [http://www.brainsync.com/medctr_main.asp]).

Granted, some Kundalini experiences can be unsettling, but these episodes rarely last long. A woman in my meditation class had a few weeks of involuntary undulating that happened when she meditated and even sometimes when she slept, which woke her up. When I say undulating, it’s not that her body was writhing, but the energy inside her was. It was intense, and she was unable to stop it. Whenever it happened her heart would race with fear. Gradually as she accepted this process as releasing old fears and simply observed and allowed it, the undulating energy smoothed out and became pleasurable. Since then she has less fear about everything in her life and is stepping out into the world in a way she wasn’t able to before.

In answer to the question, “Will I see ghosts or spirits? How can I prevent this?” If it is important for you to communicate with “the other side” and that is part of your path in life then, perhaps, when Kundalini awakens you might have the experience of “seeing spirits” or hearing them or communicating with them. You might discover newfound psychic abilities, which you can then use to help other people. Many of the psychics and shamans I know have shared that if they didn’t use their gifts to help other people, it would drive them mad.

We each have our own unique purpose in life, and Kundalini is the carrier that transports that knowledge to our consciousness. Kundalini awakenings are not random, but rather they are an affirmation of an immensely powerful intelligence at work.

I want to underscore the importance of being open to any kind of experience as Kundalini awakens. If you have fears or resistance about how or when Kundalini will awaken, then it’s important to face those fears and get to a place inside where you’re not anxious. In the end it’s a matter of faith. Having faith in the process, having faith in the wisdom and guidance that comes to you. And believing that the universe is a safe place for you to expand, grow and learn.

Landscape Decorating – Landscape Lighting and How to Avoid Overdoing It

It never fails.  You take a weekend stroll through your neighborhood, gazing right, and gazing left, and then you come across something that almost makes you stop in your tracks.  It is the over illuminated front yard that qualifies to light the way for an airplane in its landing pattern.  Here is how homeowners can limit their landscape lighting, yet still give it a dazzling nighttime impact.

When a homeowner decides to replace or add landscape lighting, they first have to make a choice of going with either the tried and true electrical low wattage varieties, or the more environmentally friendly solar powered selections.

Whatever the choice, before a homeowner even leaves the driveway to go shopping for lighting, they need to take a critical look at the yard they plan on lighting both during the day and at night.  We will cover the reason why a little later.  For now, let us first consider what our homeowner needs to account for prior to making the lighting purchase.

It is always a good idea to walk around your home, looking at any pathways, focal points, and entry ways you might want to illuminate.  This is looking at your lighting needs from a macro point of view, or basically, an overview of what you want to light.  Always avoid at this point trying to take a count of how many actual lights you will need.  Your goal here is to mainly assess your overall lighting needs and desires.  I say needs first, because you may have entry ways that for safety reasons need to be lighted, or pathways that also require a certain nighttime brightness to keep you and the family from falling in to the planter bed.  Ouch!  Any landscape lighting after that simply adds focal interest to the appearance of the home at night.

Once you have decided on your macro lighting needs, it is time to look at it from a micro point of view, or basically, take a finger count of how many lights you may need, and whether they will broadcast a downward spray of light, an upward light stream, or a combination of both.  Note:  You do not have to actually use your fingers to count, unless you use your toes as well.  Try a pad of paper and pen.  I guarantee it will be easier.  Here is the key:  Be cautious not to over illuminate your yard, for the benefit of your electricity bill if you go with electric lights, and because you do not want to go over the top with your lighting.  For that matter, there is no need to.  Your lighting should be subtle, yet add enough of an impact for safety reasons and to supply a nice glow to your property overall at night.  You will appreciate the results, and so will your neighbors.

We finally come to the reason for assessing your needs both at night and during the day.  You need to remember that not only does your lighting serve a purpose, but it also becomes an intricate part of your landscaping decor.  That is unless you have an incredible knack for camouflaging it from view.  Be sure to take that in to account and remember that most of it will be in view.  Follow this pre-lighting assessment and you are sure to make the right landscape lighting choices.  Happy lighting!
