Different Types of Tyre Changers Available

Tyre changers are absolutely vital to being able to change a modern car tyre. Nearly every car, body, oil, and tyre shop has one type of model or another. Many car owners rely on these machines to make sure their expensive rims aren’t damaged while the wheel is being serviced. There are several different types of such changers.

Semiautomatic Tyre Changer

The semiautomatic changer is an affordable alternative to the fully automatic version. We’ll discuss the automatic model in a moment. The semi-auto changer takes a little more hands-on experience to operate than the automatic. The majority of these styles of equipment come with a tilting arm and a 20″ wheelbase to support changing up to a 20″ wheel. Other wider versions for the larger wheel bases are available for slightly more than the standard 20″.

Most of this advanced tyre changing equipment combines the tilting column effect with a turntable that’s only 665 mm off the ground, making the process easier and more efficient than with past models. The semiautomatic version is ideal for mounting and dismounting any car, van, or motorcycle wheel.

Automatic Tyre Changer

The automatic model is by far one of the fastest and most efficient means for changing a wheel in any shop. Many automatic changers are utilized in changing wheels that are up to 24″ in size. The sheer size and weight of the rim makes using semiautomatic equipment too dangerous, not to mention slow.

The tilt column is pneumatically controlled and requires much less manual labor. Changers with this size often have a wheel bead breaking unit, reinforced structure to take the extra strain and weight of the heavier wheels and rims, and a fully automatic turntable to make things go much smoother and faster. All the mechanic has to do is set the machine and keep their fingers safe! These automatic changers are great for changing SUV, large car, and truck wheels.

The Newest Tyre Changers

I wouldn’t make a heading just for “new” machines like this if it wasn’t needed. There is a new strain of Tyre Changer making its way to the world markets. It is revolutionizing the features, gadgets, and looks of the standard auto or semi-auto tyre changing machine options; the Corghi-Artiglio 500, to be exact. This specific model is leading the edge in quality, speed, and safety for this niche.

It’s one of the few models that come with dual bead breaker discs to make mounting and dismounting of the wheel twice as quick. This model also sports a newly designed dismounting system and improved clamping support to ensure there’s no slippage of any kind.

At the end of the day there are many different types of tyre changing equipment you can choose from. Deciding on your budget, and which is the most efficient type, is all up to you and your business plan. If you can’t afford the best, then the semiautomatic version may be the choice you want to make.

Seven Cover Reviews of the Best Travel Trailer Covers Sold on the Internet and Retail Stores

Usually an outdoor enthusiasts begins to show interest in a travel trailer when they feel that they have outgrown the “sleeping in the outdoors or tent” phase and are ready to enjoy the luxuries of home and yet still have that feeling of living & camping outside by the ocean or lake or in the mountains or desert. Purchasing a travel trailer is an investment that the RV owner hopes will last for many years and numerous excursions. Travel trailers can and will last for many years, sometimes decades. The interior will keep its looks as long as it is protected from sunlight exposure. If an RV is left uncovered the sun’s UV rays will beat down on the camper and fade the interior upholstery, curtains, blinds, carpets, and bedding. The exterior will show its age a great deal faster than the interior. In only a matter of years a travel trailer that is left unprotected from the weather, will exhibit quick and steady exterior damage when the decals fade, crack, spilt and eventually wear off. The plastic window and door seals will turn gray to black in just a year. The welded seams that connect the sides will expand and contract with every snow fall because freezing/melting cycle that occurs when the snow melts on the roof crevices but remain in the crevice, then re-freezes in the tiny, microscopic crevices. These seams will expand inevitably with the freeze cycle that causes a widening of the connecting seams. This constant cycle of water freezing, melting and re-freezing will eventually cause problems with the roof which results in very costly repairs.

The easiest way to prevent the aging process on your travel trailer is to cover it with the best RV cover for the area in which the travel trailer will be stored and for the time in which you will be storing your camping trailer. With so many RV covers on the market how are you going to be able to find the cover that you need?

For the most part, all of the deluxe RV storage covers discussed in this article are sold on the Internet (as well as Walmart, Sears, and Cabelas) and are basically made of the same material (polypropylene) with few differences. Advertised as deluxe winter snow covers these travel trailer RV covers, (Expedition, ADCO, PolyPro 3, Camco and CoverKing) are generally made of triple-layered breathable non-woven polypropylene. The roof/top of the cover is made to accommodate the AC on the roof and is usually large enough to extend over the sides to protect the awning. At the joining seams where the roofing top meets the single layer of polypropylene sides there are vent flaps that allow the cover “to breathe”. These vents prevent wind friction and moisture buildup that would cause mold and mildew to develop. The sides have several long zippered entry panels that will allow you access to your travel trailer during the storage period. The entire cover is usually secured with an integrated tie-down strap system with adjustable click-close buckles and tension panel flaps in the front and back of the travel trailer that reduce cover stress when tightening or loosening the straps on the cover. This gives the RV cover a semi-custom fit. The major differences between all of these winter snow covers comes in the price and the length of the warranty of the product.

ADCO Designer made with Tyvek Cost: $262 – $365 Warranty: 2 years

When a travel trailer is stored through the summer in the extreme Southeast and Southwest, the cover must be made from an extremely rugged durable woven material. Travel trailers that are in the sun year-round must have a cover with ultimate UV protection. Winter snow covers (like the Expedition, PolyPro 3, Camco Ultraguard, CoverKing Presidium & the Tyvek ADCO cover) disintegrate within a few short months if they are used to protect the RV through the summer. The non-woven fabric cannot stand up to the intense UV rays in this area of the United States. There are two RV covers made of woven material. The first cover that is made with the newest technology in UV block protection is called the PermaPro RV cover made by Classic Accessories. This RV cover is backed by the newest technology in extra strength UV block protection. The PermaPro cover is made of a light weight extra strength ripstop fabric that is tear resistant with nylon reinforcements in the material. The fabric resembles that used in parachutes and athletic wear. This water-repellent fabric repels rain and snow to make it an all season protective RV cover. This travel trailer cover ranges in cost from $375 – $505 and is backed by a four-year warranty.

The Goldline RV cover sold by Eevelle has long been recognized as the best RV cover by customers and dealers alike. The Goldline RV covers are designed to outperform every other RV cover in all the critical categories of RV protection- strength, durability, water repellency, etc. The extra strength yet supple Goldline Tru-weave woven fabric can handle the strongest winds and can stand up to the extreme UV rays of the sun as well as being a water-repellent rain & snow semi-custom storage cover. This travel trailer cover ranges in cost from $455 – $578 and is backed by a five-year warranty. The Goldline is also the only RV cover made for small travel trailers (10 – 20 ft.) as well as the extremely large ones (up to 46 ft. long).

PermaPro and Goldline are the only extra strength travel trailer covers that can be used as summer storage covers. Their woven design stands up to the winds that accompany winter and foretell the change of seasons. Both of these covers are truly all season RV covers that will protect the investment you made into your travel trailer as well as all the upcoming vacations & excursions you will take well into the next several years.

Bob Jogging Stroller

A Bob jogging stroller is certainly among the best made stroller brands. Bob (which stands for Beast of Burden) is one of the older stroller companies and their products are known for being well built and sturdy. Bob is an American company started by two guys out in California who were crazy about running and biking. The company now designs the official stroller for the famous Ironman-triathalon sporting event. If you are serious about fitness, or a Mom that wants a quality stroller, a Bob is hard to beat.

The outstanding features on every Bob jogging stroller are durability, great canopies, clever folding technology, and a smooth, straight ride. For the fashion conscious, they are attractively designed. Bob offers two-tone color schemes for many models (e.g. Chocolate with pink interior is a very popular option.) Bob strollers are the only jogging strollers on the market that come with a tracking mechanism. After heavy use, the front wheel on most strollers becomes misaligned making steering difficult. The tracking mechanism allows you to correct this by turning a small knob near the front wheel. This allows the stroller to track straight and true and prevents sudden swerving when you are running.

The Bob jogging stroller comes in many different fixed and swivel-versions.

The fixed wheel versions are specially designed for running and will stand up to the heavy pounding of training or marathon running. They feature light aluminium frames for easy pushing, adjustable suspension to control the smoothness of your ride, and a tracking adjustment to make the front wheel drive straight and true. The two most popular fixed wheel strollers are the Bob Ironman and the Bob SUS. The Ironman is arguably the most popular fixed wheel stroller for serious running or training on the road or smooth pavement. The SUS (sport utility stroller) has wide, knobby tires, which make it excellent for off-roading or trail hiking.

The swivel wheel versions are designed for everyday use in the malls or on the sidewalk. The Bob Revolution is the most popular swivel produced by Bob. In fact, we think it is the best swivel wheel value on the market today. The swivel comes with a lockout feature that allows you to lock the swivel wheel for straight tracking. The lockout feature is actually so good that you can actually jog or run with a Bob swivel wheel. (i.e. you get better tracking from a Bob Swivel than the fixed wheel versions of other brands!!)

Bob strollers are certainly rank as one of the top three brands for serious joggers. The other competitors that truly compete with Bob are Baby-Jogger, and Chariot Carriers. If you are looking for alternatives to the Ironman or the Revolution, you may want to check out the Baby Jogger Performance series or the Chariot Cougar, or CX series.

One thing that you won’t get on a Bob jogging stroller is a built in cup-holder. Of course you can buy a soft attachment that fits on to the handlebar – but is not good for coffee cups or hot liquids. Well, I guess you can’t have everything! But what you do get is a quality product that will outlast your toddler years! All things considered, a Bob jogging stroller is the way to go.

Wall Mounting Tips For Your Samsung LCD TV

The next thing that you should know after finally obtaining an LCD TV is how to display it in your home. Several ways such as mounting it on the wall and placing it in a stylish LCD TV stand. But perhaps the best way to display your Samsung LCD TV is mount it on the wall and let all your visitors notice it at first glance.

The most common practice of mounting an LCD TV on the wall is by hiring the services of a professional. This ensures that the Samsung LCD TV is properly mounted; it will not fall into the ground, and will not leave you crying for an expensive LCD TV shattered into pieces. You can ask the store where you bought the unit if they could also send someone who could do the unit set up. The people from the electronics store are more capable in installing such devices appropriately and efficiently.

But if you are quite knowledgeable about electronics and home technology, then maybe you can do the mounting yourself. It is not that hard to do the installation, but you may need help from another person since the LCD TV itself is big and it might feel heavy when you are to mount it on a high wall.

Having help around will make things easier and safer for you since you have other pairs of hand to help you carry, screw, and install things. Their suggestions and ideas could also improve the look of your wall mounted television.

To begin with, identify the exact part of the wall where you want to place the television. Prepare a stud finder and use it to make sure that the wall mount is set into a stud. This will make your LCD TV securely stable on the wall.

Now that you have located the studs and marked the exact location for mounting, you are now ready to set up the wall mount. Basically, you need to screw the wall mount into the wall in as many screws as possible. More secure points are necessary to lessen the weight on every mounting spot. This ensures that the overall weight of the LCD TV is distributed among the anchors, making your wall mount stable for the TV.

This is mainly the demanding part of the installation. After setting the studs and attaching the wall mount with screws, you ca now position your Samsung LCD TV onto the wall mount. Next, you can start hooking and plugging the television. But of course, since you have a stylish TV mounted fashionably on the wall, the cable lines should not ruin your well-designed installation. Find a way to hide the cable lines. You can drill into your wall and run the wires through them. There are also conduits or cable covers and cases that are available for you to stylishly hide the cable wires. Several home improvement stores have those tools available.

And now that you have installed your Samsung LCD TV on the wall, you are one step close to enjoying exceptional home entertainment. You can now sit back, relax, turn your TV on, and enjoy watching your favorite TV show on your very own big screen.

How to Utilize a Rebound Hammer Properly

The rebound hammer was the first hammer that was created to measure the properties of rock or concrete. There are different versions of the hammer and this enables the company to provide the type of hammer that all customers want for whatever specific job they are doing. The hammer tests the surface hardness of concrete, and although some people believe that this can be converted to compressive strength, this is not acceptable.

The test for the acceptance of concrete must be carried out with different equipment. If the rebound hammer is used, the reading will not be correct and there may be serious consequences later on. The test results can be altered by a number of factors. Moisture content and surface smoothness are just two of the factors that can change it, and they test can only give an estimate of concrete strength.

The manual-testing tool is the instrument used for testing hardened concrete. This does not damage the concrete in any way, and it is an easy piece of equipment to use. It quickly assesses the results and is the most popular way of carrying out this test. Also known as the Schmidt or Swiss hammer, it carries out a very important function. While it is a good instrument to use, it can not be used in isolation.

It does not give 100% of the information that is needed and any tests should be followed up by any other non-destructive test to ensure that the best results are obtained. The procedure to take a reading is as follows. Make sure the surface of the concrete is clean. It must also be smooth, and a rough surface can produce an inaccurate reading. Take 12 readings in the shape of a diamond around the area that you are testing. This is easy to do, as all that is needed is for the tool to be placed against the concrete and the sprung mass is released.

There is section at the side of the hammer and the percentage rebound is shown on this. It is also possible for different users to produce slightly different readings, so anyone assessing the results should learn how each reader's records. There should not be a big difference if the machine is used properly but it will be noticeable. As a result of test carried out in Delphi, there has been a slight issue found with this machine and that is that there is a problem with the correction method regarding the direction of rebound.

hammer rebound tests taken horizontally Showed values LOWER than the vertical ones once the correction Had been made. The manufacturers believe they have the solution but some users are not sure. Finally, one or two other factors may have an influence on the reading. If there are slight gaps just below the concretes surface it will affect the reading. It may be too small to be an issue, but by taken numerous readings, you will be able to be assured that it is not a wide spread problem.

Broken China Mirror Mosaic

One fine day, when I was bored with nothing to do, well there is always housework but that doesn’t count, I decided to go out with the husband and visit some of the local area thrift stores. There are loads of them in my area and I have never visited one.

We walked in to the first store and immediately I was drawn towards an old oval mirror in dark wood, like a magnet. It was definitely well used and when I checked the price of five dollars it was mine!

Hubby, in despair, asks what the heck I was going to do with the old mirror? I just ignored him and wandered on.

My next stop just happened to be by the old dishes that sadly lacked some of their mates. They were crying out to me, come here, come now, buy me please! If they only knew what I had in mind for them!

I spied an old chipped set with gold edging and large reddish orange flowers and lots of leave. Mine again. Now my husband was getting irritated. “What do you need dishes for? We have plenty.” Just wait and see was my response.

We got home and had my husband paint that old mirror frame white for me. I then took a few dishes, bowl, cup, and saucer and placed them in a bag and smash, threw them on the floor a few times and let them break into pieces. I opened the bag and took out the pieces and emptied out the dust and tiny porcelain particles into the garbage.

Once the paint dried, I took the broken pieces of china and placed them all around the mirror and moved them around and around until I was happy how they looked! I then used tile mastic and placed it on the back of the china, piece by piece, and placed the pieces back in their proper spaces! I went all around the mirror and did this until all pieces were glued on with the mastic. The mirror them was left to dry overnight.

The next day, I checked to be sure each piece was stuck on the wood well and when I was happy that all was well, I moved on. The next step is to choose a grout, which I had already left over from a tile job, and I had a nice “Sand” Brown color and then grouted all around the china pieces, carefully wiping off any extra grout that finds it way into the china. Once it was all grouted I had to wait again over night to dry. Once dry the mirror was done! It looked gorgeous and my husband then wanted to go out to more thrift store to see what we could find!

So if you want to make a mosaic mirror with broken bits of china just follow what I did. This is am awesome way to design and match your plates with a mirror for decorating. Or perhaps you have an old set you have saved because you loved the pattern but many pieces missing, why not make yourself something nice with them! I bet this would also make a beautiful picture frame. Hummm I have to go get busy, I can feel the itch coming back.

Create Unique and Beautiful Art on Canvas With Raised Stenciling

Stencils have been around since the 8th century and thought to be first introduced by the Chinese. They have shown to be a proven and long reaching method of adding ornate decoration for centuries in all areas of design.

From Arts and Crafts styling to highly ornamental and detailed Victorian designs, stencils have held their own while other methods of decoration have come and gone throughout the decades.

Being used to decorate walls, ceilings, furniture and even exterior concrete to add beauty and detail, stenciling has gained in popularity in recent years in even the wealthiest of homes and businesses.

Raised stencils are a unique twist on standard stenciling simply because you apply joint compound through the stencil openings to create a raised pattern instead of using paint. The material of these specialty stencils is much thicker than standard painting stencils which allows a significant profile to be achieved. Ordinary craft or painting stencils usually don’t work well for this application.

Raised stenciling, combined with ornamental plaster from molds was featured in our beloved “White House” at the turn of the 20th century when it graced the walls of the Red Room before Eleanor Roosevelt decided to re-decorate.

There is not much further information as to the history of Raised Stenciling and no indication as to why it did not become a popular method of decorating walls, but re-introduction of this lost art in 2004 took the country by surprise and has now become on of the most popular and interesting wall treatments of our time.

Raised Stenciling is not limited to walls and ceilings however. It finds its way in to art forms of all kinds! Used with wood putty or “Wood Icing” on furniture, it creates the look of hand carved designs that fool even the most experienced carpenter! Used on concrete, it appears that the design has been hand carved as a raised element.

Creating fabulous artwork on canvas using plaster stencils is easy and inexpensive.

To plaster stencil on canvas, choose canvas that is mounted to board rather than canvases that are stretched over wooden frames. You need that hard surface to plaster on.

Prime the canvas just as you would a wall before painting it.

An interesting, textured background could be achieved by spreading a thin coat of joint compound or plaster of paris over the primer with a trowel, allowing a skip textured effect by letting the trowel or scraper create natural dents and slight ridges. Allowing the flaws of naturally spreading the compound will give a more detail to the surface.

Allow it to dry completely.

Seal the plaster with a wash of 1/2 white glue and 1/2 water. This will allow any paint finish you do on the surface to go on smoothly. Joint compound or plaster and is very porous and will not absorb paint easily. The glue wash makes the surface consistent and non-porous.

I’ve used three different materials when creating raised designs on canvas: Plaster of paris, joint compound and molding paste (found in art stores).

Situate your Raised Plaster Stencil on the canvas as desired and tape in to place. You can choose to pre-tint the joint compound with deeply pigmented craft or artists paints prior to adding the design to the canvas.

Apply the compounds using a small trowel or plastic scraper by simply smoothing it over the openings of the stencil. By scraping the stencil smooth, the material will be forced in to all the nooks and crannies of the design so that the image is crisp and clear. Without removing the stencil, you can now add more mixture up to ½” thick. Note that the thicker the material is applied, the more cracks you may have in the dried product. In some cases, this can actually be a quite desirable effect.

Un-tape the stencil and gently peel it back from the canvas to reveal the design and allow to dry. Seal the design with the same glue and water mixture to minimize the porosity or use artist’s varnish.

Any number of methods of coloration can now be used to finish the canvas art, from faux finish techniques, to color washing by mixing translucent wall glaze with craft paints, to airbrushing.

There are lots of stencil designs that are perfect for creating a Plaster Painting but also consider cast plaster pieces as well. A combination of both would be spectacular! Consider a background of Raised Plaster Branches from a stencil and then applying Ornamental Plaster Leaves from a mold. Talk about 3-D art!

Cast plaster pieces can also form a natural frame by gluing them to the outer most edge of the canvas. © Victoria Larsen 2012

Are You Looking For a Painter?

To find a painter for customized oil painting is not difficult but to find a real good painter for family portrait is very difficult. Artists have their own skills and a painter who can create wonderful sceneries may not be able to create same astonishing impressions on your portrait.

There are some important factors that should be considered before selecting an artist for your family portrait. Traditionally artists used to create portraits in their studios but this process was very slow and tedious. It gives you more opportunity to make adjustments according to your requirements as you can provide direct feedback to the painter. The major drawbacks of traditional portraits are:

  • These paintings are very costly and it can cost you up to thousands of dollars depending on the artist and your location.
  • Sittings for the portrait are time consuming and if you want to create portraits for your kids or pets then it would be really difficult to make them sit still for hours.
  • It is not easy to get appointments for the time when you are free.

Internet has already provided a perfect solution and now artists can create portraits by using your photograph as a reference. You may think that when you already have a photograph then what is the need to get it converted into a portrait? A photograph has a very limited life and it can be ruined very easily. On the other hand oil paintings are everlasting and therefore you can treasure it for coming generations.

In today’s fast paced life when we do not have time to pose several days for portraits it is a great idea to convert your photograph in a memorable portrait. On the internet you can find several websites and artists who can immediately start working on your project irrespective of your location. The major drawback is that you cannot provide immediate feedback. However there are some artists who can make changes until and unless you are completely satisfied.

Artists usually send a blueprint for their pencil drawings and are willing to work according to your expectations. It is worth to spend money only when you find an artist who understands your requirements and is ready to make unlimited changes.

Shweta Singh is an art consultant at Linden Alley, a group of oil painting artists who create wonderful portraits using photos as references. All their work is 100% hand-made.

Using a Mini Chandelier in Smaller Rooms

When you are trying to improve the look of a large room, a chandelier is a great choice to make. What happens you want to get that same classic look for your bedroom or hallways? While you may not be able to use a full sized chandelier, you surely can make use of a mini-chandelier and still have a wonderful improvement of the aesthetics of the room.

Getting a chandelier is like creating instant romance. When you look back at all the great places that you have been, a chandelier seems to be in the spotlight every time. There is just something about them that says elegance and romance and people can not resist them.

People will generally shy away from putting chandeliers in their home in smaller rooms or hallways because of the size of them. Most do not realize that this is exactly that a mini chandelier was made for. It is just a micro version of the same elegance that you have over your dining room table.

It does not matter what kind of décor you have and how big or small the room is, there is something that will fit. If you have chandeliers in place already, take a picture and then get over to the store to match it up. If you can not find and exact duplicate, you should be able to get pretty close.

Another very attractive thing about using this as a lighting option is that for all the glamour that they possess, they are fairly inexpensive when compared to some of the other lighting options that you can pursue. Once you factor everything in, it makes complete sense to look at this as a viable option for lighting these other areas.

Why do people fall in love with the look of a chandelier so quickly. Is it that Hollywood romance thing or is it just the sheer beauty of them that gets us enamored. Whatever the reason, why not bring that look into every room of the house instead of just the dining room?

Now if you really want to go the extra mile and create a uniquely romantic feeling, you can try a candle chandelier. They also come in both full and mini versions, but they add the special effect of candlelight. Think about the romance and the relaxation that comes into play when this mood is set and you can have it every day of your life.

When you want to create a special look and have something that truly sets a small room apart, a mini chandelier is the perfect investment. Somewhere, there is a chandelier that has your name on it and it is screaming for you to take it home and install it. You are not only going to be happy with the look and appeal of the room, but you will probably also be happy with the response it gets from your spouse. It may be just enough to get the romantic embers into a flame again and we all know what that leads to.

Different Biker Patches

A biker patch or “colour” is usually sewn on a vest made of leather or denim to denote the biker’s group, organization or gang. These sacred patches are worn with honor and may contain secret symbols that say things about the group or the individual wearing it.

There are basically 3 types of biker patches which come in one, two or three pieces. The one-piece patch symbolizes a motorcycle organization such as Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) and Honda Riders Club. Two-piece patches are usually used by riding clubs or may symbolize a motorcycle club awaiting the transition to be a full three-piece outlaw club. The three-piece patches symbolize an outlaw motorcycle gang.

Biker patches basically have three parts; the top rocker, the bottom rocker, and the group or gang emblem in the middle. The two crescent shaped rockers display the name of the club on the top and the place or region of the group on the bottom. Sometimes the word M.C. is placed beside the emblem or rocker to note that it is a Motorcycle Club.

In 1947, the American Motorcycle Association stated that “99% of all of their members are law-abiding citizens and only 1% are Outlaw” following a violent incident in Hollister, California. This gave birth to the One Percenters or Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs. These clubs cut their one piece patches into three to distinguish themselves from the rest of the law-abiding groups. A diamond shaped 1% patch may also be worn with the three piece patch. To show that they are the outlawed 1%.

Biker patches may have a hundred meanings and their symbols can stand for anything. Usually, only bona fide members of the group truly know the meaning behind these emblems. Here are some common symbols and their meanings.

1% – as stated by the AMA, these are the unrecognized outlaw motorcycle groups.

13 – this is used to symbolize the letter M which may stand for several meanings including motorcycle, marijuana, methamphetamine, or a secret meaning only known to the members.

It may also mean “12 jurors and a judge” which symbolizes that they can be judged by nobody. We are our own judge and jurors.

9er – symbolizes that the biker has Native American blood since the 9th letter in the alphabet is I.

Ace of spades – this is a symbol for the bringer of death. It means the rider is willing to kill for the group. Or perhaps he has already.

Bad Influence – shows that the biker is a mad man.

DILLIGAF – this is an acronym for “Do I Look like I Give a F***”

FF – forever, forever is used with the group’s title in the beginning and end, as in the Hell’s Angels’ A.F.F.A. and the Sons of Silence’s S.F.F.S.

Flags – may be used to denote the group’s location or origin.

ITCOB. – this is an acronym for “I Took Care of Business”

MC or MCC- this is an acronym for “Motorcycle Cycle Club”

Men of Mayhem – badges or pins given to members who have killed in the name of the group.

Nomad – used on the bottom rocket denoting a person of no particular address. Only a few can truly live to this title.

Skull and Crossbones – the patch stands for “Respect Few, Fear None”. In some cases, the cross bones are replaced by swords.

It may also show that the member has killed someone for the group.

Swastika and Nazi symbols – these does not necessarily mean that the bikers are Nazi, rather, they show that they reject the rules of society.

Wings – these are usually used to show achievements. They may sometimes hold a sexual meaning but these are mostly believed to be jokes.

Red wings shows the biker had oral sex with a menstruating female.

Green wings shows the biker had sexual intercourse with a woman with a sexually transmitted disease.

Yellow wings shows the biker drank a woman’s urine.

Purple wings shows the biker had sexual intercourse with a corps

Patches may also show the position of a biker in the gang. This may include president, vice president, secretary and sergeant-at-arms. For outlaw groups, it can only be worn in the territory and has to be surrendered when the biker leaves the group.

No matter what the meaning, the patches are treated with honor and respect for it is a great privilege to have the right to wear the group’s emblem and call it their own.

Jobs For 14-Year-Olds – 10 Unique Ways to Make Some Extra Cash

Here are 10 jobs for 14 year olds to make some extra money in their spare time:

1) Wash Windows

A bucket of warm water with a little vinegar in it and a squeegee is all it takes to make money washing windows.

Who has the time any more to wash windows? I know I don’t!

That’s why I happily pay my teens to do the dirty work!

You can charge by the window, for example $5 dollars per window, or by the hour. The money adds up quickly. Try putting up a local flyer in the grocery store, library, etc.

2) Clean Out the Attic or Basement

Isn’t it amazing how much stuff you can accumulate? Most homes are stuffed to the roof tops with junk!

Teens can haul in the cash by cleaning out other people’s junk. And some of it can be recycled for even more cash.

Remember, a cluttered home is a cluttered mind!

3) Mow the Lawn or shovel the drive-way

This may seem obvious – but I’m always AMAZED at how many dads I see mowing their lawns… or shoveling the sidewalk – instead of Johnny Junior!

Besides being great exercise, mowing the lawn or shoveling the walk is good money and good exercise for an ambitious 14 year old.

4) Odd Painting Jobs

Got walls? This is WELL worth paying for!

Many homeowners have a room in their house they’d like to spruce up with a fresh coat of paint. But they don’t have the time or huge outlay of cash to pay a professional painter. But they can afford to pay a teen $50 to $75 dollars for a good job.

And if you’re willing to paint ceilings, you can make even more. Just make sure you have plenty of drop cloths to cover the floor in case of drips.

5) Pool Guy

If you have a pool or jacuzzi, you KNOW that it takes WORK to keep it clean. You can set up weekly or monthly pool cleanings with neighbors. Target a neighborhood with 3 to 4 pools so you can save time and gas by doing at the same time.

6) Brush Clearing

My mother-in-law is always on the look out for strong, reliable teens who want to earn extra money clearing away brush and debris.

Matthew, my 12 year old, just made $20 bucks for a few hours work!

7) Garden Tilling

Every spring and fall, I hire my son Tony to till the vegetable garden. It’s an easy way to earn extra money at home or even around the neighborhood.

8) Bookkeeping

This is not only a great way to earn extra money, but an invaluable and useful skill to learn. That is – if you’re feeling brave with the bills!

9) Landscaping projects or Plant Doctor

Do you have sort of a green thumb? Are you reliable?

Both business owners and home owners need someone to water their indoor plants regularly or when they go on vacation. This is an easy, fun way to make some extra cash.

Or if you have a strong back, you could break out the shovels and beautify yards with a tea rose garden, raised flower bed, or small gold fish pond!

10) Artist

Do you have an artistic or talented teen? Encourage her to advertise her talents and draw, photograph, or sketch portraits to earn extra money at home.

I know of an 18 year old girl who colors horse portraits for extra cash.

Or you could make you own design and sell t-shirts, mugs, etc. on CafePress.

There are many jobs for 14 year olds to make money – you just have to be willing and motivated. And do a little brainstorming!

A History Of Aerial Lift Of Connecticut Bucket Trucks

Aerial Lift of Connecticut is an expert in aerial device manufacturing for vehicles, specifically lift trucks. The company was started in 1958, and was bought by Altec Nueco, a well-known vendor of secondhand trucks. At the moment, Altec NUECO provides customer support and service to Aerial Lift of Connecticut’s clients.

Equipment

ALoC’s equipment is placed on a truck’s bed and lifts the user up at heights starting from 40 to 77 feet. It has a wide range of uses among which includes changing bulbs on streetlamps, rescue operations, window washing, and construction, among others. If you are wondering how the Aerial Lift of Connecticut bucket boom trucks are categorized, it is done according to the boom’s location, which can be center-mounted or rear-mounted. The typical bucket truck has a rear-mounted lift. However, if the truck needs a chip box body, the lift is attached to the frame at the back of the driver cabin.

Before they were acquired, Aerial Lift of Connecticut had a substantial market share in bucket trucks. This is because most people feel that the ALoC bucket trucks is among the best in the market. According to customer feedback, the bucket trucks were seen as high-quality machinery that can last for decades of use. Over the years, the company has also innovated. It came up with the AL-77-53 model, which has a hydraulic-controlled elevator that can reach up to 77 feet.

Truck Installations

You will find that the Aerial Lift of Connecticut also has chip boxes and lifts available for 2WD, 4WD, and multi-axle trucks. The Aerial Lift of Connecticut bucket lift trucks have lifts for every application like construction, maintenance, firefighting, forestry, and window washing.

Examples of these are the AL-77-53 and AL-60-50 lifts, which can go upward and sideways to give you access to places that you normally will not be able to reach. The upper controls have a fiberglass tool scabbard. Also, the booms of the lift were made to be stacked on top of each other so that you can make a stronger and more durable lift. In fact, the company also sells lifts that can be put on all-terrain skidders.

Customer Care

Aerial Lift of Connecticut is also known for having a reputation for excellent customer care. Many of their satisfied clients will tell you how prompt and effective the company is when it comes to emergency repairs and yearly maintenance. When Altec NUECO took over, they continued providing superior customer service, even offering comprehensive overhaul services for old models of utility trucks. This is why, despite the competition, most people still prefer Aerial Lift of Connecticut bucket trucks.

Insurance Agency Marketing And The Insurance Agent Elevator Pitch

What is an elevator pitch? According to Wikipedia, “an elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch should be possible to deliver in the time span of an elevator ride, meaning in a maximum of 30 seconds and in 130 words or fewer.” What does an elevator pitch mean to your insurance agency, and why are these 130 words so important to your business?

Synthesizing your value proposition to differentiate your products, services and solutions is challenging enough. Encapsulating it into 30 seconds is particularly difficult for most agencies. In this case, I say “most agencies” because those agencies which specialize in one or two highly vertical segments have an obvious advantage. For example, let’s say you specialize in trucking insurance. Your elevator pitch might be: We specialize in helping trucking companies with 50 or more power units with all of their insurance needs. This includes all trucking related insurance services including property and casualty, liability and benefits. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years and no other agency offers our deep expertise in this area. According to Microsoft Word, this succinct pitch is only 51 words, and arguably conveys this agency’s value proposition in even a short elevator ride.

Let’s say, however, your agency is a generalist, offering many types of coverages to almost any type of business. What is your elevator pitch in this case? If possible, create a pitch, or several variations on your pitch demonstrating your value added services, and do so while discussing a type or size of your target market. If this seems obtuse, let’s try an example. We specialize in helping small businesses, often with fewer than 50 employees with a value based approach to the insurance market. We become the advocates for these smaller companies, helping you get the best coverage and rate balance, making sure we minimize risk, while keeping premiums affordable. Because we specialize in small business, regardless of your company’s size, you’re still a very important client, and you won’t get lost in the shuffle. This 72 word elevator pitch takes an agency generalist, and turns them into a specialist, focusing on the needs of smaller businesses, and helping identify with the prospect. This empathetic elevator pitch conveys an understanding of a specific target market, namely small businesses, even though the market is horizontal and the agency provides all types of coverage.

If your agency has not spent sufficient time creating and rehearsing an elevator pitch, there’s no time like the present. Write down your pitches and practice them in your next sales meeting with your producers (insurance agents). Granted, the insurance agency producer is the person with the greatest opportunity to deliver this pitch. However, everyone in your agency should learn the final pitch. After all, you never know when someone from your agency will bump into in an important prospect in an elevator, stairwell, coffee shop or other abbreviated meeting venue. By the way, if any of the above pitches sound similar to your agency it is a coincidence, at 7:15am this morning, I quickly composed these. Then again, it’s up to you to refine and tweak your elevator pitch to differentiate your agency for others. Simply adding a city, like Natick, MA for example, will change the pitch, adding an element of local service and support to your industry expertise, further differentiating your insurance agency elevator pitch. Once properly vetted, your pitch should become a fundamental component of your insurance agency marketing plan.
