The Role of Glycerine in the Production of Soap

Glycerin, also spelled glycerine, is a basic ingredient in most soap. In fact, it is a by-product of soap manufacture as it occurs due to the reaction of strong alkali with an animal fat. This process is known as saponification and it is this process that brings out soap or detergent. While most manufacturers separate glycerin from the mixture, others incorporate the compound for its natural benefits.

Lots of soap-makers recommend glycerin as a basic ingredient because it has the ability to draw in moisture preventing drying of the skin. The compound is a natural moisturizer. In fact, it is a humectant – a substance that attracts water. Thus, soap containing the hygroscopic compound is known to have skin conditioning and moisturizing effect.

Glycerin is a viscous liquid that is at the same time sweet and colorless. It solidifies to a paste-like substance and has a high boiling point. During the soap-making process, some manufacturers remove the compound from the soap mixture and incorporate it into other products like lotion and creams. However, when it is added to a bar of soap it results to a nearly transparent product with moisturizing properties.

The compound is known to be a good solvent and this is one of its most remarkable properties. In some instances, it is better as a solvent than water or alcohol. This property makes it highly miscible in both alcohol and water. However, it never dissolves in oils. In its pure form the compound is called glycerol which suggests it belongs to a classification of organic compounds called alcohol.

It is extremely hygroscopic, which means that it readily absorbs moisture from the air. For instance, leaving a flask of pure glycerol open allows attraction of water that it soon loses the purity.

It was in 1889 when the compound was first obtained from animal fat through candle making. During which time the only way to derive the compound is through this process. Also, in that time animal fat was the only raw material for making candles. During the World War II, it has become a major component of dynamites and heavy demand for the substance was not sufficed by soap making industry. Thus there was an abrupt production of synthetic forms of the compound.

The substance has a chemical formula C3H8O3 which is also occurs as a liquid by-product during the production of biodiesel in a process called transesterification. This syrupy liquid occurs in nature. Found in cells of plants and animals (including humans), it is a part of the large bio-molecules of many lipids. In biologic processes the compound occurs as a result of the fermentation of carbohydrates. In organic chemistry it is produced by propylene synthesis.

Glycerin is an ingredient in several health-care products and toiletries. It is found in food products, as well as pharmaceutical and cosmetic items. It is found in moisturizing lotions and creams because of its hydrophilic and hygroscopic properties, which allow the substance to retain moisture. There is a debate whether it is the hygroscopic properties of the compound that makes it good for the skin, or it may be possible that the chemical has other unexplored and unidentified properties aside from the one already mentioned. The moisture-drawing property makes it an excellent emollient when added in soaps and moisturizing creams. An emollient is a substance that smoothens and softens skin. Another reason personal care products utilizes the substance is because of its skin lubricating advantage, not to mention it serves as a thickening or emulsifying agent in cosmetic products.

Home-made soaps or the hand-made varieties naturally contain glycerol, which commercial soap-makers remove. The separated liquid is used in massage oils, lip balms, skin softeners and moisturizers, perfumes and essential oils, and pharmaceutical preparations.

Mind Hypnosis – 3 Powerful Ways To Take Control Of Someone

In the field of hypnosis, there are three ways in which you can basically take control of someone's mind and get them to do whatever you want. So here they are …

Mind Control # 1: Dual Reality

This is a technique used in magic that can also be used very well in hypnosis, especially with stage hypnosis. Basically it describes a scenario where the performer presents his material in such a way that both the subject and the audience experience different things.

For example, suppose a volunteer is invited onto the stage to help with a trick. The performer meets the volunteer at the edge of the stage and, quietly so that the audience does not hear, saying: "What's your name?" "Jim" Replays the volunteer. "Okay Jim, do not worry everything will be fine." The performer now addresses the audience: "Now ladies and Gentlemen, I have never met this person before. Is not that right …" The volunteer sentences before the performer continues … "erm … Jim, is not it? " The volunteer has to agree again.

The audience thinks that the performer has just somehow guessed the volunteers name, and the volunteer thinks that he has just forgotten forgot it before recovering.

Mind Control # 2: Invisible Compromise

This is another magic technique that can be adapted to suit pseudo hypnotic or mind control performances. This is quite similar to dual reality, except that the volunteer actually knowingly helps to perform the trick – he is not a stooge in that he is not pre coached on how to react, he is skilfully used by the magician to actively participate, controlled by clever verbal commands that mean one thing to the audience, and something completely different to the volunteer. I will not go into this in more detail here.

Mind Control # 3: Pattern Interrupts

This is a hypnotic / NLP term used to describe a way in which a person's thought processes can be momentarily interrupted during that time which can be induced into a trance very quickly.

It is a technique devised by Milton Erickson, which involves interfering the normal, expected patterns of behavior that the subject expects to experience. At this point their brain pauses briefly to try to understand the unexpected activity that the subject has just experienced and a command to "sleep" is quickly given during this pause in the brain activity.

The command slips right past the critical censor and into the subconscious where it is acted upon immediately (assuming that the technique is taken out correctly, the subject is suitably receptive, and the performer is confident enough in their abilities).

Ps (After getting all these compliments on different occasions, if he tells you you can not stop thinking about you … Please do not blame us!)

Understanding the Advantages of Outlook Cached Mode Configurations

Many of us have heard about or actually used the Cached Mode of the Microsoft Outlook application. By specifying various configurations, we can make the best use of this powerful feature. Our article explains the different configurations and how to put them to use.

As all users of Microsoft Exchange Server are aware, they can either work with their mailbox on the server in the online mode or the cached mode. The largest advantage of working in the cached mode is that it allows users to continue working with data from the mailbox as though they were still connected to the server even though they may be offline. Outlook creates an offline storage file, OST file and then copies the content of the mailbox on the server into this file. Mobile users can then access this copy of the mailbox offline. To take full advantage of this feature, users should know about the different configurations of the Cached mode setting, how to protect OST data and if the need arises, how to recover OST data.

Although you can set the different configurations for Outlook manually, if you are a system administrator looking after an entity Exchange organization, you would be better off if you just applied the settings at the group policy level. The OST group policy settings can be located by first going to the main User Configuration menu and then looking at the Administrative Templates. From Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, select Tools and then Account Settings, from where you can click on Exchange. While there may be other options, you should look at the group policy setting for the OST files. Before making changes, you should be aware that some of the changes could cause serious damage to OST files and that there should be a backup option to quickly recover OST data.

1.Rather than downloading all the messages to the offline folders, especially if you are working on a low bandwidth connection, you may want to download only the headers to understand what you need to deal with on a priority basis. If you indicate the 'Cached Exchange low-bandwidth threshold value', when sufficient bandwidth is not available, Outlook will download only the headers for you.

2.One of the most important configurations is the 'Exchange Unicode Mode'. While older versions of Outlook used only the ANSI format for their OST files, from Office 2003 onwards, it is possible to choose the format the user would like for the OST files. However, users should be aware that ANSI-based files have a 2 GB size limit beyond which the files can immediately get corrupted and you have to repair the file to recover OST data. Further, it is not always easy to work on an OST file that has crossed the size limit, as, in order to repair the file, one needs to reduce the size. The best option then is to use specialized recovery tools such as Advanced Exchange Recovery from DataNumen to repair the OST file, bringing the file to a more manageable level and ensure no loss of data. On the other hand, Unicode files have no such restrictions.

3.Some users prefer to work with the data in their Exchange mailbox only when they are online. They would much rather deal with slow and unreliable connections than deal with local OST files. By choosing the 'Do not allow an.OST file to be created', these users do lose out on the many advantages of the Cached Exchange Mode.

Sports Education in Jamaica – The New Way to Go

The Jamaican education system has paved the way enabling the island's Olympic gold glory. Through its physical education syllabus and its dedicated physical education teachers we now reap the benefits. The coaches are also to be commended for their dedication and effort in supporting athletes, helping them to stay focus. To be an Olympic medalist is what every parent dreams for his / her son or daughter, When Husain Bolt, Asafa Powel, Melaine Walker, Veronica Campbell, Shelly Ann Frazer, all won Olympic gold medals In Beijing the world was surprised, Jamaicans on the other hand were happy not surprised. There is a history of producing medal winners in track events going as far back as the London Games of 1948.

Jamaica will always be seen as a gold mine for athletics. The world may wonder at our success and what is the secret, some even implying that our athletes do drugs. I recommend Jamaica as the ideal place to educate your child and if s / he has athletic talent it is one of the best places to develop that talent. The hilly terrain is good practicing ground to develop muscles, strengthening heart and lung. capacity Many of our talents in track and field are those who have ran miles over hilly terrains. The yellow yam was given as one reason why Jamaicans can run. The sickle cell trait that many Jamaicans possess and team work were also given as reasons for success in tract and field.

For such a small third world country Jamaica has a tradition of performance in track and field as in Merlene Ottey, Donald arry, Author Wint, and many others who have gone before. Jamaica has what is considered raw talent, pushed by motivation and a culture of competitive spirit, all go to make the Jamaican athlete shine. One very important factor for the country's success is, Jamaica has one of the best organized track and field program in the world. Although restrained by funding, the country still promotes track and field from as early as kindergarten. In Jamaica we train body and mind to achieve. Each year we look forward to which new athlete will better a Usain, or a Veronica. All year round if you follow the country's sport calendar you will realize that there are always some sporting activities taking place all across the island geared at preparing our athletes.

There is the yearly sport day for all kindergarten and primary schools, high schools and college; at these events students compete among themselves in organized house meets. Next there is the parish inter school sports. From these the best are chosen for the all island sports meets such as The JTA primary and all age schools meet and Boys and Girls Champs for high schools. The foundations for this fast running show was laid long ago in 1910, when Champs, an event designed to discover and develop the best school sprinters, was launched. There is the intercollegiate and university sports with special emphasis on track and field geared to keep Jamaican athletes trained in Jamaica to represent the country instead of performing for other countries like the USA and Canada. After these elimination and screening we arrived at our best, selected to be trained, and to compete on the international stage. This is the point that athletes with raw talent are monitored by the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association. With the correct funding Jamaican will continue to collect glory medals internationally.

Boa Feeding Tips – 7 Hints For Tempting Snakes to Eat

Boa Constrictors one are the most commonly kept snakes, and with good reason. They tend to make excellent pet as they are docile, easy to handle, and have modest care requirements. They are also generally good feeders, usually taking defrosted rodents without trouble.

Some boas however, particularly wild caught specimens, can be problematic to wean onto defrosted prey. Having a snake which refuses to eat can be extremely frustrating, but there is usually no need for concern. If the boa is otherwise healthy it can go for considerable amounts of time between meals.

If your snake is refusing to eat, monitor its weight, and follow these tips to help get your boa feeding readily and easily.

1. Feed appropriatively sized prey: All species of boa can be fed exclusively on rodents in captivity. They type and size of prey is entirely dependent on the size of the snake. Neonates may be started on pinky (day old) mice, and the prey size should gradually increased as the snake grows. Small, through medium, to large mice should be followed by rats, and even rabbits for larger boas. The key is to offer prey no larger than the girth of the snake to avoid training the boa's digestive system.

2. Feed your boa at regular intervals: How regularly you offer prey items will depend on the age and size of your boa. For most species, neonates should be fed weekly, while adults can be fed fortnightly since it takes them longer to digest the larger meal. Boa with slow metabolisms however, such as the Emerald Tree Boas, only need feeding every 21 days.

3. Defrost the rodents safely: While pinkies and small mice can be safely defrosted at room temperature, larger items will take longer, increasing the chance of bacterial growth. To safely defrost prey items, place in the refrigerator overnight, sealed in a plastic tub. Before feeding, warm them slightly for 30 minutes under a lamp, or near a radiator. Always ensure that prey is thoroughly defrosted, and avoid using a microwave which will partially cook the prey.

4. Tempt your boa with defrosted prey first: If your boa will not take defrosted prey on its own, try leaving it undisturbed in the vivarium overnight. Another trick is to try leaving the prey, and the snake, in an unfurnished plastic tub for an hour. If none of these methods work, you should try 'tempting' the boa with the prey. Either use a long pair of forceps and dangle the prey in front of the snake, or drop the rodent on the floor of the vivarium, and gently wiggle it with a stick. With a little patience this is often enough to get a boa eating. 5.The 'bait and switch' method: If the above methods have failed, you can try using a freshly filled mouse. Dangle it with the forceps, and try to get the boa to strike. Once in feeding mode, you can swap in a defrosted rodent.

6. Offering freshly killed prey: If, after a number of attempts with the above methods, you really can not get your boa eating defrosted rodents, try offering one which is freshly killed. If your snake takes the prey, try offering a small defrosted rodent immediately afterwards. Often, once the boa is already in feeding mode, it will take the defrost, and once a boa has eaten one defrosted rodent, it will take more in the future. If this fails at first, the next time you feed the snake, hold a defrosted rodent against the half swallowed fresh kill. This can be enough to trick the boa into eating both, and again, once they have taken a single defrost it is easier to feed more in the future.

7. Offering live prey: Only if all of the above methods have failed should live prey be offered. A live rodent has sharp teeth and claws, and can seriously injure a snake. Never leave live prey in with your boa for more than 15 minutes, and never unattended. Keep a close eye and be ready to remove the rodent quickly if necessary.

By following the above methods you should be able to tempt just about any boa to eat, and slowly to wean them onto defrosted food. Once taking defrost, try to keep them on it without absolutely necessary.

In the rare cases where all the above methods fail, and a boa is losing weight, it may be necessary to force feed. This is a stressful, and dangerous method of feeding which should only be attempted by experienced herpetoculturists and is beyond the scope of this article. If you get to the stage where force feeding is necessary, consult your veterinarian, or find an experienced keeper via your local herpetology center. However, with patience and the methods outlined above you¡¯re unexpectedly to ever need to resort to that.

Gatso Speed Cameras – Understanding Them And Avoiding A Fine

If you’ve been flashed by a speed camera out on the road, it’s more than likely it will have been a Gatso camera because these are by far the most common type of camera currently in operation around the UK. Seeing that flash is often a cause for despair, which is why understanding how these cameras work can be so useful. Knowing what activates the cameras will help you to control your speed and avoid any unnecessary points or financial penalties.

First, though, what does ‘Gatso’ stand for? Unlike most things, it’s not some complicated, technical anagram that’s been condensed into weird and wonderful shorthand. In fact, it’s short for Gatsometer BV, a Dutch company that has made and supplied these cameras for over 50 years. The cameras are a familiar sight to most motorists, who’ll recognise the distinctive yellow boxes with a square hole for the camera lens. While they may come to be superseded by other, more advanced models, currently there are approximately 7,000 dotted around UK roads. So keep your eyes peeled.

The cameras work by projecting a radar beam onto passing vehicles which picks up on excess speed and activates the camera. The camera will then take two pictures, 0.7 seconds apart. The first will be a conventional picture, while the second will be infra-red which is used to see through any dirt or anything else obscuring the registration plate. Because the flash of the camera is disorienting and potentially unsafe for the driver, these cameras usually only snap you as you are driving away from them. However, you may find yourself snapped head on as a result of a speeding car on the other side of the road.

The camera determines the speed of your vehicle by looking at small white lines that have been painted on the road in the designated ‘speed trap’ area. The distance between these lines denotes a certain number of miles per hour, typically 5mph. The camera counts the number of lines passed between the two photographs to produce solid evidence of the speed at which you were travelling. Therefore, if the camera snaps you passing through seven 5mph lines in a 30mph zone, you’ll be shown to have speeded.

Modern speed cameras automatically determine your speed and send out a fine whereas images sent by older cameras are checked by staff at a central processing plant. While both methods are usually reliable, the modern, automatic cameras are more susceptible to errors. If you receive a fine for speeding that you don’t think is justified, it may be worth analysing the photos yourself to see if you can realistically contest the charge. The photos should be sent out with the fine, so if you haven’t received them, make sure you obtain copies. Also, it’s important to note that you must receive the penalty notice within 14 days of the incident for it to be valid, although there may be exceptions in cases where ascertaining the identity of the driver is more difficult, such as when a company car is being driven.

His Most Famous Painting (Portrait of Violette Heymann) – Odilon Redon

French Symbolist painter, printmaker, draughtsman, and pastellist Bertrand-Jean Redon or Odilon Redon (April 20, 1840 – July 06, 1916) was an eminent frontrunner of ‘Post-Impressionism’ and ‘Symbolism.’ He was only 10 when he won a drawing prize at school. Odilon began studying drawing formally at 15, but had to switch to architecture on his father’s insistence. He was back to painting, once he failed to pass the entrance for architecture, at École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. The creator of the “Portrait of Violette Heymann,” Redon, studied etching and lithography under Rodolphe Bresdin, until his artistic career again had to take a break when he joined army in the Franco-Prussian War, in 1870.

The year 1878 gained Odilon recognition, with his creations the ‘Guardian Spirit of the Waters’ and his first album of lithographs, ‘Dans le Rêve’ in 1879. In 1890s, he started using pastels and oils, which was heavily seen in his works for the rest of his life. He added a couple of etchings and lithographs catalogs to his count, later in life. Odilon’s works were hugely imaginative, which ranged right from a human headed spider to quaking ground. His popular works included ‘Spirit of the Forest’ (1880), ‘Cactus Man’ (1881), ‘The Crying Spider’ (1881), ‘The Buddha’ (1904), and the “Portrait of Violette Heymann.”

The “Portrait of Violette Heymann,” created during the last years of Redon’s life in 1910, was one an immensely imaginative work. Measuring 72 cm x 92 cm, this pastel work displays a young woman, Violette Heymann, surrounded by many, intensely colored, blooming, and somewhat unfinished flowers around. To match up with the theme ‘Violette,’ Odilon has made an ample use of violet color. Violette is shown sideways, sitting on a chair, which is supporting just her back, while her neck and head stay unsupported. She looks passive, owing to her expressionless flat face. Her dress is also quite simple without much elaboration and style. She is a wearing a white colored, high neck inner, with a greenish-blue upper having golden border. Her black hair is shoulder length and is pinned at her back.

Odilon Redon described his works as ambiguous and indefinable. He explains, “I have often, as an exercise and as sustenance, painted before an object down to the smallest accidents of its visual appearance; but the day left me sad and with an insatiate thirst. The next day I let the other source run, that of imagination, through the recollection of the forms and I was then reassured and appeased.” Reflecting his own thinking and psyche through his work, Redon tried to “place the visible at the service of the invisible.” The same ambiguity is reflected in Violette’s expression, owing to which Odilon’s this artwork always gathered mixed reactions. The “Portrait of Violette Heymann” is presently displayed at the Museum of Art at Cleveland, Ohio.

Why Laminate Flooring is So Popular

Laminate flooring is an affordable alternative to hardwood flooring or ceramic tile. It is available in a wide array of colors to give the appearance of different species of wood in a variety of finishes. You can also have the look of natural stone in a laminate floor with such choices as colonial brick and granite.

The ease with which you can clean laminate floors is also another reason why homeowners are opting for this choice of flooring material. You can sweep the floor or vacuum it. Washing up requires only a mild cleaner and warm water. The flooring has a wear layer so that it resists wear and tear in high traffic areas and it will not stain easily when such liquids as juice are accidently spilled on it.

Laminate floor looks very realistic even though it is not made from real wood or stone. Along with its long lasting qualities, it is easy to install. The planks or tiles have interlocking features through tongue and groove applications so that you simply snap each piece together. You can choose to either nail the planks to the subfloor or glue them down to give the effect of a floating floor.

You do not have to bother with refinishing laminate floors as you would with hardwood. Neither do you have to take the time to apply grout like you would with ceramic tile. Laminate is not recommended as the material of choice for kitchens or bathrooms because of the high moisture content in these rooms of the house. Neverheless, many people have installed laminate flooring in these rooms with great success.

You do need to use an underlay on the subfloor before you install the laminate planks. This is because the planks can cause hollow sounds when someone walks over them and this can be particularly annoying for anyone on the floor benefit.

A Brick Wall

Direct Answers – Column for the week of August 18, 2003

Two years ago I divorced, and there is still a lot of hostility.

My former husband has been served with due papers for not paying child support. He says I am sending him to the poorhouse, but I have no recourse but to contact the court when the payments stop. He continues to blame me, even though two sentences have explained it is the court which determinates when attempted charges are filed.

My children require the necessities of life, which I provide, but he says the children are my responsibility and not to contact him, even if they become ill. He only interacts with them on scheduled weekends, and many times the weekends are cut short.

The home he purchased with his girlfriend includes a built-in swimming pool and two Jacuzzis. Last summer he asked me how it feels to work, and he explained he makes enough money his girlfriend gets to sit by the pool all summer. His girlfriend looks like a glittering Christmas tree with all the jewelry she wears.

I have tried to talk to him, but he says he is not listening and then belittles me. He buys food and clothing for his girlfriend's children, but he tells me I have messed up our children's lives and dress them in rags. That is not true. They are really great kids doing well in school.

I need some ideas how to try and talk to him to get my point across. How do I communicate my concerns to him?

Marlene

Marlene, you have communicated your concerns to him. He does not care. Your ex-husband does not want to support any woman he is not sleeping with, or her children. Your children have lost a father figure because their father does not see himself as their father.

There is another danger here. Children often respect the bad parent and respond to what that parent wants, while disrespecting the good parent. It is not simply that they pick up the difficult parent's attitude; they think by placating him that they will get a father response out of him. But the end result is they may blame you.

Do not waste time thinking you will ever get through to this man. You are being emotionally battered and so are your children, which is a good reason to minimize contact with him.

His obligation to his children comes from the state in the same way the state determinates which side of the road to drive on or when to pay taxes. Let the state enforce this obligation and do not explain or apologize for it.

Overreaction

My best friend lives across the street. Her daughter and mine play together all the time. Our husbands are best of friends, and we watch over each other's home when we are out of town.

When she got a part-time job, I started baby sitting her daughter. I had an interview one evening and left my daughter and hers with my husband. I was gone one hour. The next day she called me and told me all of a sudden she does not trust my husband with her daughter.

My husband is an elementary school teacher and loves children. This has upset me and hurt my feelings. She does not call now, and I wish I knew what she was thinking. Should I call first?

Christa

Christa, your neighbor is mad, and the question is why. If something actually occurred, she likely would have acted immediately.

She could be angry because for an hour she did not know who was watching her child, or because you did not share news of your interview with her. For the former, you can apologize. Tell her you did not think. Your husband watches children more than you do, and it did not dawn on you to let her know.

Finally, do not put yourself or your husband in this position with her again.

The Contemporary Electric Fireplace

When buying electric fire places, the first question that comes to most consumers mind is what a contemporary electric fireplace. The phrase means that the fire place is not the standard hearth style fireplace. This is not a fireplace that you would stick in a rustic cabin next to a pot belly stove. On the contrary, this is a fireplace that would add heat, light, ambiance, and comfort to a more modern clean lined decor. When a customer is looking for a fireplace that will not take up a lot of space, can be mounted, can give off an air of civility, affluence, and also warm their house, they are looking for a fireplace that would be described as a contemporary one.

These fireplaces come with a number of features to them. They can be vented into the room for the warmth and coziness, or they can be vented into an installed ventilation system. This gives the customer the ability to either use it as a practical climate control, or a conversational show piece. The fact that there is a fireplace will spark a number of conversations. The fact that you can not feel the heat, and you could with a turn of the switch will be the talk of all of your guests. Not only that, these fireplaces can be mated and framed to a variety of styles and colors. This makes sure that your fireplace will go with any decor you have, including matching your furniture or paint.

Insulation Covers And Connectors – Important Electrical Accessories

Brief on Insulation Covers

Insulation covers or blankets help maintain process temperature, protect machine components from environmental stress and give highest level of insulation thus ensuring long product life. They not only protect the product but also the personnel working on the machines. Insulation covers reduce undue stress on the machinery and offer increased energy efficiency. These blankets also aid in effective process control by keeping checks on process temperatures, flow of the material, levels of ingredients in the process, etc. Overall they help in making the process cost effective.

An insulation cover is either tight fit or removable. Even the tight fit covers are removable and replaceable. They ensure a complete covering and are highly long lasting. Customized insulation blankets can be designed by studying the facility, evaluating the process parameters and ensuring they increase the efficiency.

Brief on Screened Separable Connectors

Functional Parameters

Connectors are an electro mechanical device for joining and making the electrical terminations touch proof. They consist of a male component viz. Plugs and the female component viz. Jacks. The screened separable connectors are made of silicone EPDM rubber. They connect cables to switch gears, transformers and other equipment. These connectors are protected by touch proof outer screen making them fully insulated, submersible. The fully screened connection makes mating with both A and C type bushings possible. Their design is compact, finish is smooth, current capacity is high to the tune of 250A, 630A to 1250A and performance is effective. Their voltage ratings are 11KV, 15KV, 24KV, etc. Using these connectors both ends of the cable are terminated sometimes using identical connectors or at times terminated differently.

Installation

The screened separable connectors are easy, safe and quick to install due to their optimized design and selection of material. They fit into smallest of installation spaces and even when the clearances for operation is insufficient.

Characteristics

Connectors are a physical interface and they should be of a proper size, offer good resistance, give proper insulation, show ruggedness, should be resistant to water, pressure and other factors. Their reliability, durability and ease of installation determine the area of usage.

Applications

These connectors find usage in a wide range of industries like electric substation, underground distribution, shipping, mining, oil and gas, railways, etc.

Summarizing

Screened separable connectors make the terminations touch proof and the insulation covers provide utmost electrical safety. The installation, operational and performance qualification of these accessories must be well documented to ensure compliance with regulations. Onsite training and documentation of the same is also a requirement for safety compliance.
