All-Terrain Performance

Looking for an alternative "air" to your car? Try the British air, courtesy of the Land Rover. Maker of the highly popular Defender, Land Rover had made its name in manufacturing rugged sports utility vehicles.

Originally a name for an all-terrain vehicle made in the late 1940s, the marquee Land Rover had lent its name to the company as well. Now, it is known as a topnotch manufacturer of four-wheel drives, oftentimes made to suit different functions ranging from military, scientific to civil recreational use.

The first ever Land Rover debuted in 1947 in the Amsterdam Motor Show. Designed by Maurice Wilks, the Series 1 was inspired by the American military jeep that Wilks had used in his farm one summer holiday. The Land Rover used a jeep chassis and featured "center steer." The Land Rover parts and its distinct body were made from an aluminum and magnesium alloy called "Birmabright", which was lightweight and rustproof. The alloy's resistance to corrosion became its selling point, as the vehicle's body could survive extreme conditions. The Land Rover came out in a light shade of green, due to the fact that most of the supplies used was military surplus.

One of the most popular uses for Land Rovers is for military use. The British Army maintains a fleet of Series and Defenders for their use. Mostly, it involves slowly modifying the civil Land Rover for military use, although sometimes a military version is made by the company. Modifications include 24 volt electrics, convoy lights, electronic suppression of the ignition system, blackout curtains and mounts for special equipment and small arms. Military use is restricted to being a light utility vehicle, communications platform, weapon platform for rifles, TOWs or machine guns, ambulances and workshops. The military use of the Land Rover has come out in two versions: 1. the 101 Forward Control, and 2. The Lightweight or Airportable, which is light enough to be transported by a helicopter.

A famous example of Land Rovers in military use is the British Army's "Pink Panthers." Modified for desert use, the Pink Panthers were painted pink, hence the name. It was for reconnaissance work and was fitted with a sun compass, machine guns, larger fuel tanks and smoke dischargers.

Also, Land Rovers are popular vehicles for field scientists. Many scientific expeditions, especially in Africa, have Land Rovers as field vehicles.

One distinct factor why the Land Rover is popular among military and field scientific use is its superior off-road performance. The short wheelbase of the Land Rover is capable of going up in gradients of up to 45 degrees; approach and depart angles of 50 and 53 degrees, respectively; and a ramp break-over angle of up to 155 degrees. A typical feature for all Land Rovers is that they have exceptional axle articulation (the degree to which the wheels have vertical travel, with high amounts allowing them to maintain contact (and trafficking) with the ground over uneven spaces). Right now, it is pegged at 7 inches at the front axle and 8.25 inches for the rear axles.

Popcorn Machine Reviews – Whirley Pop 6-Quart Stove Top and the Stainles Steel 6-Quart Stove Top

First, let's look at the Whirley Pop 6-Quart Hand-Cranked Stove Top Popcorn Popper which retails at around $ 22-25 dollars. I kept this pricing in mind in providing this review. When a popcorn machine is this cheap, you have to limit your expectations and your criticism and only pull the product up if it has clear faults – which in my view this one does.

First, the plus points. The Whirley Pop does produce popcorn that tastes just like granma used to make. For this reason alone, this product will do its bit to ensure the continuing popularity of stove top popcorn machines in the face of competition from modern electric popcorn machines. The Whirley Pop works extremely quickly, producing 6 quarts of popcorn in 3 minutes. This is staggeringly fast popcorn production.

So what is wrong with this machine? Well, I think the problem stems from the fact that in order to keep the price down, too many corners have been cut on design and materials. The bottom of the pan is very thin and the aluminum showed some warping after reheating and cooling. The stirring mechanism on the top did not run smoothly. I did a bit of internet research and I found a number of reviews that folded the product up on this point. Some reviewers reported that the stirring mechanism located up once in a while, and others said it packed up all together. You'll also find that even if you do use the stirring mechanism as instructed, you still have to time it just right to pop most of the kernels without burning any. To be fair, all stove tops are likely to burn the popcorn if you do not keep an eye on things, which leads many to opt for electric popcorn machines such as the West Bend Stir 82306X Stir Crazy 6-Quart Popcorn Popper , which has automatic cut off after a certain time to guard against burning. However, in my view, you lose out on taste when you move away from the stove tops.

In summary, if traditional tasting popcorn is what you are after then the Whirley Pop will produce it, but I am not sure for how long, since it suffers from poor build quality and materials.

Now we come to the Stainless Steel Stove Top Popcorn Popper , which can be yours for around $ 35, making it around 40% more expensive than the Whirley Pop 6-Quart . The question is, is it worth it? The short answer is, 'yes' and I'll get right to the long answer in the rest of this article.

As with all 6-quart capacity popcorn machines, the Stainless Steel Stove Top is designed to feed the whole family, which it does in about 4 minutes, making it a little slower than the Whirley Pop 6-Quart , but hey, only by a minute. Being made of stainless steel, with sturdy stay-cool wood handles, this is a popcorn machine designed to last the distance, which is of course reflected in the price. The cranking rod mechanism works smoothly to ensure that all the kernels get popped, but as I have already mentioned, keep an eye on things since all stove tops can burn your popcorn if let them at it for too long and do not crank when you are provided to (refer to the instructions for precise guidance). The Stainless Steel Stove Top also has a butter drip cup that melts butter evenly onto the popcorn, and the end result tastes wonderful – just like granma used to make. Both our stove tops deliver on taste, but in contrast with the Whirley Pop , the Stainless Steel Stove Top is a popcorn machine that will go on giving that taste for years and years.

So what about the down sides, surely there must be some? Well yes, there is one. The Stainless Steel Stove Top is not the easiest to clean around the cranking stirrer part of the product. The same can be said for the Whirley Pop . I can see that after a while, oil is going to collect around both cranking mechanisms, and depending on how particular you are about your kitchenware being perfectly clean, this is going to be more or less of a issue. I can live with it, but others may opt for a machine that is easier to clean – a modern electric popcorn machine like the West Bend Stir – even if this means losing out a bit on taste.

In summary, if you want the best traditional tasting popcorn, which in my view only a stove top will give you, and you want a machine that is built to last, then go for the Stainless Steel Stove Top Popcorn Popper . It will stay in service far longer than the cheaper Whirley Pop . As my father used to say, 'buy cheap, buy twice'.

BGA Inspection System for BGA Soldering

BGAs are difficult to rework as they require a pretty deep knowledge of the original manufacturing process, knowledge of the chemistries involved in the original manufacturing process, the thermal profiles of the various processes as well as an experienced eye in terms of BGA inspection.

In terms of BGA inspection, while the IPC-A-610 standard indicates that the inspection of BGAs can be confirmed from a process point via x-ray, it is imperative that the tools of visual inspection, endoscopic inspection, and x-ray be used for proper BGA inspection.

Visual BGA inspection on the edge of the BGA package and the geometries of the depiction is very limited and is a function of having access to a periphery of the device. Many times the operator will have to be able to articulate the board underneath the microscope. This also asserts that the edge of the board has not interfered with respect to the edges of the device.

Endoscopic inspection is similar in scope and in its limitations to the visual inspection process. The endoscopic mirror is placed in vicity to the edge of the BGA so that BGA inspection can occur. The magnification of the inspection instrument is such that unlike optical inspection, the periphery of the BGA ball interface can be seen. The ball to package interface is important because this part of the BGA inspection can determine if the wetting of the ball to the package is sufficient. The interface of the ball to the PCB also determines what the solder joint of the ball to the board looks like. Here again, the inspector looks at the wetting of the interface of the ball to the board. What is particularly critical is the board corners. If collapse and ball shape are confirmed at the corners in the BGA inspection process then it is generally assumed that the rest of the ball interfaces will be acceptable.

X-ray inspection of BGAs gives the processor many details of the output of the BGA rework or original assembly process. Not only is the ball size and it's uniformity a reflection of the consistency of the reflow process but other parameters can be determined from the x-ray. In addition to the ball collapse uniformity, any shorts can be pointed out through the examination of the x-ray image. The x-ray image in a BGA inspection process can also determine if anomalies such as the flowing of solder down the "dogbone" pattern of the contact to the via is disturbed.

What is Oil Rubbed Bronze

There is no true definition of what constitutes oil rubbed bronze. Most agree, in broad terms that Oil Rubbed Bronze should have darker brown tones with a bit of the metal base material showing through.

How you get there is another story, and often you can’t get there at all. Many are happy to give the illusion of oil rubbed bronze by faux-finishing the piece or using a spray paint of some sort. This makes it very difficult to have a little metal showing through, since we are talking paint in this case. Look at oil rubbed bronze furniture, lamps, and kitchen and bath accessories. You will usually find that the coloration is very uniform and consistent. The reason for this is two-fold, One, many of us seem to desire uniformity in our furnishings. The manufacturers give us that by basically painting the items or dunking metal plated items in a chemical tank. Easy, cheap, and uniform, and just what we want, Right? Oh, and very profitable for this “premium” finish.

If the look of aged real metal is desired you will have to accept that aging and patina are not uniform and will differ from item to item. There can be extreme beauty in the variability associated with metal and the aging process. You can see the variations by looking at the statues and buildings in any older city. Beautiful! But certainly not cookie-cutter!

Here is how the craftsman creates the oil rubbed bronze look. Beginning with metal, or a finish comprised of real metal, chemicals are applied that alter the metal and change the color. Think of patina as rust, and rust as patina. But what we call rust is only common to ferrous metals such as iron and steel. Other metals naturally patina in their own way and show wide differences of color depending on such variables as salt air, pollution, and temperature. Brown tones as well as greens, blacks, and blue often show on Bronze, Brass, and Copper.

The skilled patinator works her magic to produce these natural colors without waiting a couple of centuries for the patina to develop. Chemicals in various combinations are applied to give the desired look. Greens, blues and browns each require different techniques, but the final step is the same. To give the natural look, the highlights are hand rubbed letting the beauty, luster, and life of the underlying metal to peek through.

Plant a Vegetable Garden

Living off the land is not just for flower power hippies and go green fanatics. Aside from being able to enjoy the fruit of your labor, literally, there is always the added advantage of saving a few bucks at the supermarket. Tending to a garden can be a little labor intensive but with the right equipment and some sound advice you'll have green thumbs in no time! Be warned this is a very simple guide to getting a garden started we will not get into the science of soil because it can get overwhelming and discouraging for the beginner. If you think that your soil is not able to grow a garden, ie your neighbors have tried with no success, take a sample to a local greenhouse or plant shop and have it tested you may need to adjust the pH level.

For everyone else: the first thing to consider when planting your garden is the type of soil you've got to work with. There are three general soil types, sand, loamy / silt, and clay. Not sure which one you have? Here's an easy way to find out. Go to your soon to be garden, pick up a small amount of soil, enough to make a ball the size of a ping pong ball and try to form it into a ball. If your soil is nowhere near making it into a ball you have sandy soil, if your soil seems to be going with the program but breaks apart once you stop trying to form it you have loamy soil, if it holds its form as a ball you have clay soil. No worries, you'll be able to plant no matter which type of soil you have, with the help of some top soil or compost.

First things first, figure out which types of vegetables you would like to plant, this is a fun process and will get you excited for the work to come. A good beginner garden includes tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and bell peppers etc., and do not forget the herbs, basil, cilantro and mint are great herb that you can use in many dishes. My best advice is to keep it simple. It easy to get excited about having all these fresh, organic, juicy veggies at your finger that you bite off more than you can chew. Choose about 4-5 vegetables that you eat most often and plant those but do not pass on the tomatoes you will not be sorry they are not much better than any supermarket. Follow the link at the end of this article to figure out when to plant the vegetables of your choice. It also tells you when to expect the veggies to come in (harvesting).

Once you've gotten your fabulous list of vegetables its time to prep your soon to be bountiful garden space. After the last frost of the season prepare your soil by mixing in topsoil or compost, both contain essential nutrients and are the perfect density to retain and drain water at the optimum rate. Pick a nice spot that gets a lot of sun and start tilling to turn up and expose the soil. Till the area the size and shape you would like your garden to be, remove two inches of soil evenly and put it to the side you will be replacing those two layers with top soil or compost.

Side note: If you do not want to remove any soil no problem, just go for a raised garden. Add two inches of top soil to your current level of soil once it has been prepared. If you're going to opt for a raised garden you should line it with short pieces of wood as boarders (2 x 4's will do) so roots do not become exposed once they start to grow.

Now back to the tilling. You shouldill about 6 inches deep into the earth. Once you've turned up all the soil add top soil or compost to it and till some more to mix it in. Add enough top soil to the mix to make your soil the consistency and density of loamy soil. If you already have loamy soil you should still add top soil to replenish any nutrients your current soil maybe lacking. I've found that a 50/50 mix works well for me. After that has been completed its time for the fertilizer, broadcast (see listing list) the fertilizer of your choice and use a rake to distribute it evenly across the top of your plot. If you are unsure about which type of fertilizer to buy ask a local merchant and be sure to mention you are using it for a vegetable garden.

Once you've done that its time to plant your plants. A good rule of thumb is to start your garden when the plants in your area begin to bud. Who better to tell you about nature than Mother Nature herself? You can also refer to the previous link for a more concrete calendar. If you plan to start with seeds get a modular tray that has squares of soil and start the germination process indoors to protect the fragile seed from the rough outdoors. Follow the link at the end of the article to watch a video on how to prepare your trays. Note: You can buy trains that come prepared with soil already in the cells at your local gardening store.

If you are starting with small plants from a local green house you can put them right into your plot, I recommend this method because it is much easier to care for the plants. To transplant them into your garden dig a hole about 6 inches deep depending on the size of the plant and put the plant with soil you bought it directly into the ground and pack some extra so around the roots to make it stable. Make sure to plant each plant a couple inches apart to leave space for them to grow. After you've transplanted all of your veggie plants water the garden to settle the roots.

Congratulations! You've planted your first garden. Now its time to tend to it!

The first couple of weeks after you have planted your plants your garden is going to need some serious TLC. That means you will have to water more often to keep the soil moist.

Watering should be done before dawn or at / after sunset. If watering is do not when the sun is in full force the beads of water in the leaves will be magnify the Sun and potentially burn plant leaves.

Be aware that there is a fine line between moist soil and over watered soil after you've watered your garden that soil should be moist enough for you to shape a small amount of dirt into a compacted ball. If a lot of water runs out without much force you have over watered (a small amount of water is fine). It is better to water a little, check the soil then water some more if needed. A good way to check if you have watered enough is to stick your finger in the soil. After watering, give the soil a couple of minutes to absorb the water. After about 20 min. has elapsed stick your pinky (or thumb!) as far into the ground as it can reach. Be sure to stay clear of plant roots you do not want to disturb them. If the soil is moist good job, great way to squirt that hose! If the soil is a little dry underneath add a little more water but be careful not to over water.

Now that we've gotten you excited to pick up that hoe keep these Do's and Don'ts in mind when planting your garden.

Do plant your garden in an area that gets the most sunlight about 5-6 hours a day.
Do not over water your garden
Do pull out as many weeds as possible when tilling and after your garden has begun to grow.
Do not dig plants up once you've laid them.
Do not water when the sun is in full force.
Do pick your vegetables once they are ripe or they will rot in your garden.
Do share the wealth. If you have more veggies than you can handle give some away.
Do have fun and enjoy the fruit, or in this case, vegetables of your labor.

Great, you've got all the info you need to start your garden but you can not call yourself a Green Thump Garden Newbie until you've learned some of the Lingo:

Broadcast = to distribute evenly across the plot
Aerate = to loosen soil by digging to allow air to pass freely. Used mostly on clay soil
Annual = plants that grow for only one season
Biennial = plants that grow for two seasons
Germination = when seeds have sprouted about the soil
Perennial = plants that grow every year if you take care of them of course
Hardening-off = gradually introducing plants or seeds to the great outdoors by putting them out each day to get used to the elements and increasing its outdoor time each day.

Whew, nice job, you've officially earned your green thumbs now go out and get some dirt under those nails!

Happy Planting Newbie!

Christians Reject "Palestine" for the Promised Land of Israel

I remember taking issue with The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine’s frequent use of the term “Palestine” when they were referring to the Holy Land of Israel.

Both Gerald Flurry, editor-in-chief of The Philadelphia Trumpet, and his son, Stephen Flurry were guilty of using the loaded term of “Palestine.”

Gerald Flurry quoted Shmuel Schnitzer lamenting the new Jewish people who are “preparing to deny our [Jewish] rights, both the divine promise and in terms of REFERRING TO THE LAND BY THE NAME OF ITS PEOPLE, “The Land of Israel’ — a land which belongs to the Children of Israel, from then and to eternity…” [emphasis mine] and then, himself, continues in “Israel’s Lost Vision” blind to his own hypocrisy, “Let’s look back at Palestine’s recent history.”

Yes, let’s look at what name GOD gave the land as an inheritance of all Twelve Tribes of Israel. GOD named it after our patriarch ISRAEL. Satan inspired the Romans to mock God and dishonor our Father by attempting to erase Israel’s name off the map! “They have said, ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more'” (Psalms 83:4). Why join with the enemies of God and Israel? Why give credence to an ILLEGITIMATE name? God forbid Israel ever becomes “Palestine”!

Since I truly believe they wanted to go by the Bible, I encouraged them to do so and properly refer to the Land of Israel by its GOD ORDAINED NAME — Israel!

In fact, I made a public issue of it only after I saw they persisted in their error by writing “An Open Letter to Stephen Flurry Concerning ‘Palestine'” in the November/December 1996 issue of The National Messenger. It appears they now refer to “Judah” or “Israel (biblical Judah)” instead of the accursed “Palestine.” Hallelujah!

Free Standing and Fireplace – Insert Pellet Stoves

With prices of oil and gas skyrocketing every week it looks, heating bills are expected to increase by twenty-seven percent this winter and those who use natural gas can expect a forty-one percent increase. This has a lot of homeowners looking for ways to decrease their dependence on oil and gas.

If you're looking for the heat and nice look that a wood stove can provide, then you're going to find the pellet stove to be a very sophisticated heating appliance. These stoves look very similar to your traditional wood stove or fireplace insert and they work in a similar manner as well. Plus you get a similar flame burning effect as well.

Freestanding and fireplace insert pellet stoves produce a small fire, although you can get some with different flame patterns so that it looks more like a real fire. You can also get ceramic logs, similar to those used in gas fireplaces, to help disperse the flames as well.

The main disadvantage to the free standing and fireplace insert pellet stoves is that they have moving parts and motors that may require some maintenance. It is a good idea to select a model that allows you to easily access these parts should they need repair. It is also a good idea to regularly maintain these parts.

You have two options when it comes to free standing and fireplace insert pellet stoves. You may select either bottom fed or top fed pellet stoves. A top fed stove has a hopper that delivers the pellets to the fire. The manufacturers of top fed pellet stoves suggest that you use low-ash, high grade pellets so as not to impede the moving parts with ash or "clinkers." The bottom fed models do not require high-grade pellets because the ash is pushed to an ash pan. Of course, the ash pan has to be cleaned weekly if you're using the stove regularly. It is also a good idea to look for a stove that has a large ash pan that is easy to remove and replace.

The motors on both of these units require electricity. This means that you will need to have the stove plug into a 110-volt outlet. You may also opt for a gas-power generator should your electricity goes out. This will keep you from losing your heat as well.

Both types of pellet stoves are measured in terms of heat output range. Most will range from 8,000 BTUs to 90,000 BTUs. You will want to work with a dealer who is knowledgeable about the heat distribution of these stoves in order to choose the one that is right for your home or the room you are heating.

There are a variety of different pellet stove options for you to choose from and they range in price from $ 1,700 to $ 3,000 plus the cost of installation. You will also have to have a chimney installed in your home if you do not have one already. The fireplace insert pellet stoves are convenient as they can be slipped into your existing fireplace. Additionally, both are convenient because the pellets are simply beloved into the hopper and you do not have to worry about stacking and carrying around messy firewood.

Why Use Health Supplements?

Uses of supplements

Health supplements are used for a number of reasons like body building, weight loss, skin therapy, anti-stress therapy and even to battle memory loss. They are used along with proper diet and exercise to deal with the problems. Most of these are very effective and harmless. These are approved for use after thorough research and tests so that they are perfect for human use. Supplements can help you to get appropriate amounts of important nutrients but they can not take the place of main sources. The supplements are effective in maintaining your overall health and recovery from specific ailments but that under under medical supervision.

How to take them

Health supplements contain extracts from herbs which are integrated with minerals, vitamins and many more to improve the physical well-being of people. The packages contain a detailed list of ingredients, directions of use, advantages as well as when to avoid them. You can read the cover and pick up according to your requirement but using it away from medical supervision is not advisable. You can purchase them online or over the counter. Sometimes you are offered discounts and free packages to boost sale. These are highly effective in treating ailments like high blood pressure, blood sugar, asthma, cholesterol, migraine, arthritis and many more. Some even claim to have anti-aging properties.

Why the growing dependence on them?

Any kind of supplement makes sure that you get all the nutrients that are missing from your diet in one way of the other. Sometimes advertisements make you aware of a certain missing ingredient that needs to be taken daily and popping a pill looks easier than painstakingly consuming the food daily. Aged people tend to lack essential nutrition that pills and protein shakes can restore. Pregnant women need additional nutrition which sometimes they are unable to consume owed to health conditions. Supplements available under numerous brands approved by the FDA make it easier for them to maintain the nutritional balance.

Make up the nutritional deficiency

Anyone consuming less than 1,600 calories daily or is a vegan can think of opting for health supplements. Vegetarians often lack the right amount of vitamins and minerals because of the limited kinds of food consumed. Post-surgery patients are always in a fragile state where in consuming appropriate amounts of solid food and getting the necessary nourishment becomes difficult. Alternative means of supplying the body is essential during those times.

How to Wear a Condom – Do You Ruin Sex by Making These Common Mistakes?

Most condom failures are the result of people not using them correctly. Things like breakage, firing, and sliding off are all very preventable problems if you follow just five simple steps. These steps will also improve your enjoyment of sex and increase the frequency and intensity of your woman's orgasms.

Open the package carefully . One of the primary ways condoms get damaged is men opening the package too hastily. Always use both hands to open the package on one of the sides. Never tear it open in the middle and never use your teeth.

Store them for no longer than five years . The storage location should be dry and cool. Heat breaks down latex and really reduces its strength. Never keep condoms in your wallet. A dresser drawer or some other similar location works best.

Use the proper amount of the right lubricant . Too much friction during sex often causes condoms to break. The easiest way to prevent this is to use lubrication. A few drops should do the trick, but if you are unsure of how much to use, too much is better than too little.

Two things that do not mix are latex and oil. Oil based lubricants degrade the quality of latex and make the condoms weaker. You should only use water based lubricants with latex. If you are using polyurethane condoms, oil or water based lubricants work equally well.

Use the right size of condom . Slide offs and breakage can be prevented by using the appropriate size of condom. In addition, you will find both you and your partner enjoy sex more with a properly fitted condom. It allows your partner to feel your shape more fully and puts less material between you and your woman so that you get more intense pleasure.

The scanning component of the photocopiers has been quite instrumental as the scanned document can be stored, sorted and easily retrieved. Above all, the digital photocopier rental have evolved in such a way that these gadgets have been predominantly working on the networked environment and become a core component of the document management system.
  • Scanned documents being sent to the user through email: The photocopiers have evolved in the technology ecosystem and have been linked up to the email servers. The users who attempt for a scanned document can request for the scanning to be carried out by the photocopier and sent them to the user after the scanning.

Aluminum Window Shutters

Aluminum window shutters do exactly what they say – they're window shutters that are made from aluminum rather than another material, and this gives them a range of advantages over and above other types of shutters. This makes them highly popular and helps to increase the quality of life for those using them around the home, and aid business for those using them in corporate and industrial sites. Here we will look at what some of the advantages of aluminum window shutters are and why you should consider them over other shutters.

First of all, aluminum window shutters are more durable than other types of shutters. This means that they will last for longer without breaking or becoming damaged, and means that you less regularly need to replace them. This makes them a great investment that will also save you the hassle of having to get them installed every few years.

At the same time this durability is also important from a security point of view. Aluminum window shutters will be harder to break into, and this will mean that your items will not get stolen and no one will trespass on your property. They are also very opaque and that means that you can keep people from looking through the windows – important for both privacy and security. If they can not see through your window they can not spot valuable items that might make them want to break in, and at the same time it means you can go about your business safe in the knowledge that you're not seen and no one can see you.

This opacity also means that they are highly adept at keeping out light – and to an excessive noise. That means that if you have the shutters in a residential setting where you sleep then you can sleep more soundly and get a better quality and quantity of rest. This will mean that you're more active and healthy during the day, and really make a large difference in your life. If you have a lamppost right outside your room then this will make the whole area far darker. Similarly it can also be useful for when you need to shut light out to be able to better see a screen – if you're watching television or making a presentation in an office this will reduce glare and then reduce damage to your eyes.

In conclusion then aluminum window shutters will improve your property in a vast number of ways and will more than make up for the slight extra price making them highly valuable investments. First of all they will last longer, meaning you get more use for your money, then they will look good – looking classy and not at all cheap, then they will help to keep your privacy better and finally they will keep out the light when you want it blocked out which can actually help to improve your health and the quality of your sleep. They come in all shapes and styles, so you should look into installing them in your home or office.

Flooring In The House And Garage

Choosing to add a new floor into your home is a great choice! If you add a new piece into your household, then you will be changing the way you feel because you will be enjoying your surroundings much more. There are many options of flooring that you can choose, and you can make your floor as personal as you want. A very popular choice is laminate flooring which has grown to the point where it is competing with the traditional hardwood floor.

If you are choosing between hardwood and laminate floors then there are a few things that you need to know. First of all, hardwood floors are much healthier towards the environment, and according to a large number of real estate agents, a hardwood floor can add anywhere from seven thousand to ten thousand dollars to the value of your house. Also, laminate flooring has a plywood base, which has a topping of veneer which is three-ply. When compared to a hardwood floor, laminate is very thin.

When it comes to laminate floors, it is also important to keep note of the fact that most manufactures of laminate flooring have a five-year warranty on their floors and the laminate can only be refurbished three times at most. The amount of time refurbishing is needed highly depends on the amount of traffic that your floor comes in contact with on a daily basis. If you expect your floor to encounter a large amount of traffic then laminate would be a great choice because the veneer topping on these floors is about one eighth of an inch in thickness.

If you are considering a hardwood floor, then you should know about the three types. There is a strip floor which will make up a major part of installations and it normally is about two and one quarter inches wide and it can be anywhere from one and half to three and one-fourth inches wide. The installation of this type of floor involves you nailing each panel to the sub floor. The second type is three inches wide and can either be nailed or screwed into the sub floor. The third most popular type of hardwood flooring is parquet. It is sold in six by six blocks and you can pick your own patterns and designs with this floor type.

If you are looking for a new flooring option for your garage rather than your house, then you may want to look at a rubber garage floor. Many manufactures of garage floors use a polypropylene copolymer which does a great job separating your car from your floor. A rubber garage floor is a great option for you if you are a home mechanic. If you are a mechanic, then your garage floor most likely has a large amount of spills and damage caused by chemicals. With a rubber garage floor, the spills won’t affect the concrete and they are much easier to clean up. Also if you lie down underneath the car then the rubber will be easier on your back than concrete.

There are many other garage flooring options that are very easy to install. Most of these options may be cheaper than you think. Regardless of the floor you wish to renovate, you still need to make a decision on how to renovate it. It is important that you do enough research where you can be comfortable with your final choice. After all, if you are making the investment to renovate your flooring, then you want to make sure you get your money’s worth.

Proper Use and Care of a Boat's Electrical System

By the time a boat gets a few years old, it will probably have a number of things in the electrical system that need to be updated or replaced. When an insurance surveyor comes along, he may end up handing the owner a long, and costly, list of things that need to be corrected.

An electrical system for a boat is much different than that of a house or even a car. Sea water is a fair conductor of electricity. Therefore, there are some additional rules on the materials and methods of installation when it comes to boats.

Materials & Equipment – It is important that only equipment and materials rated for marine application be used. The American Boat and Yacht Council has very stringent standards for this. Things like common household wire and wiring devices, as well as electrical equipment and appliances should not be used on boats. These things are not properly constructed, insulated or grounded and could either start a fire, or worse, result in an electrocution. Federal regulations require that all electrical devices that are used in the engine compartment or bilges be "ignition protected" means that they will not create a spark that can cause a fire or explosion.

Buying Older Boats – When buying a used or older boat, one of the things to pay close attention to is how much rigging and alterations there are in the electrical system. Sometimes there are quite a bit. In most cases, the owner may not even be aware of why things are constantly breaking down. Usually he blames it on the pump or motor when actually faulty wiring is the problem. You should be aware that on boats with poor electrical systems, the cost of straightening it out can be pretty high.

Electrical systems do not last forever. Over time boat systems degrade, particularly when it comes to the effects of corrosion. It is recommend that a boat have an electrical system survey once every 5 years. This does not take long and does not cost a lot of money. In fact it may save you hundreds of dollars in unwelcome headaches. In most cases, the survey will reveal the effects of damage which may need to be cleaned up, along with a few minor repairs. The advantage is in not allowing these problems to accumulate to the point that it becomes a big, costly job.

Adding New Equipment

Most boats, particularly smaller ones, are not designed with the idea of adding new equipment, even though nearly everyone does. But the primary reason why systems get so messed up is a result from the attempt to force something in where there is no provision made for it.

PDA Memory Cards – 7 Tips On Using Them To Improve Your Bridge Media Experience

PDA Memory Cards are a very popular means of instantly enlarging the memory capacity of a PDA. Most of the PDA Memory Cards that are in use today are of the SD memory card format, and their capacity ranges form 16MB to 1GB. The 2.4 and 8 GB cards are now in development, and are expected to penetrate the market during 2007 and 2008. Quite impressive for a memory card the size of a post stamp. The use of an SD memory card is great for installing additional software on your PDA, or storing more data on it. But it also enables your PDA to participate in what's called "The Bridge Media" concept that the SD memory card creators had the vision for.

The meaning of Bridge Media is that the SD cards can offer a way to connect many types of appliances trough one small memory card, without the need to use any interpretation.

An example for sd card use:

You shoot a video clip with your digital camera. You will store the video clip on your SD card which is supported by the digital camera. After that, you can take the memory card out and plug it into your PDA. The video clip is immediately shown on your PDA, without the use of any other device. You did not need your PC's interference in doing this – both your digital camera and your PDA know how to read and write data to and from an SD card.

The nest thing you can do is, say, change the video clip is some way sing your PDA (like adding titles). You can save the new video clip to the memory card and take the SD card to a video camera. The video camera can now read the new video clip and display it on it's screen or on your television.

Here's another example:

You have an important phone call on your cell phone. Your cell phone supports SD memory cards so it's able to record the call. You can later save the phone call audio file on to your PDA memory for future use.

As you can see the possibilities are endless, and memory is something you can easily move from one appliance to the other thanks to the flexibility of PDA Memory Cards

Another thing to remember is that the DS memory cards have very fast read / write speed of X133. This is possible due to the fact that no physical component is active in the read or write process, and the memory is completely electronic.
