It is manufactured in layers forming a sheet of the desired thickness and a wood grain is usually imprinted onto the surface. It is made to imitate the various forms of wood siding, even shingle siding. It is also much more durable than vinyl and wood and less expensive than brick, stucco, and most hardboard.

Advantages of fiber cement siding
This type of siding is water and termite resistant, as well as fireproof. This alone makes it much more durable than wood siding. Most fiber cement siding is guaranteed to last for at least 50 years.

It has excellent weathering characteristics and is strongly encouraged in warm climates.

It is very low maintenance. Your siding can be colored at the factory and last up to 25 years. Most manufacturers have a full pallet of colors available and some even provide custom coloring.

Disadvantages of fiber cement siding
During installation, extra care must be taken to contain dust particles. Special blades must be used when cutting this type of siding.

Cost of fiber cement siding
Fiber cement siding is considered one of the best values when it comes to comparing siding options. It has a slightly higher cost than vinyl, but the about the same cost as the wood siding it is made to imitate. Prices are about $ 200 – $ 600 per square foot, plus the cost of trim, accessories, and installation.

The Terrace by a Delft Artist

There is a lovely scene of a young lady and her gentleman friend on the terrace of their home by a Delft Artist. The name of the painting is "The Terrace" which hangs in the galleries of the Art Institute of Chicago.

The scene takes place from a window that looks outside to the terrace. On the window sill there is an elegant cloth make of the finest materials wrapping some type of sword (only the handle is visible). This cloth is the vehicle that leads us from the inner room to the sun filled terrace and garden that is beyond.

As you look over the handle of the sword it is juxtaposed with the musical instruments that are on the chair adjacent the table on the terrace. From the appearance of the musical scores and instruments laying about there must have been musicians playing and hence left the scene for the young couple are not dressed or suited for such activity. The young couple are well dressed, the young lady in red and white and her companion in dark attire, there is an air of pleasantry between them.

Behind the couple in the window above are two figures, a man (his back is to us) and a woman, how they are related to the scene is not known but the lady seems to be watching the young couple, perhaps a guardian. The table next to the young couple is covered in a very rich cloth of bright red and on top is a tray with a wine ewer, adjacent the wine vessel musical scores. To the back of the young man and all the way across the terrace is a fine stone balustrade on top of which are statues and a large flowerpot (all in Classical relief).

Viewing through the balustrade you can see the formal gardens, which are symmetrically laid out. In the middle is a garden walk leading to an entryway, which opens to the fields beyond. There are trees planted on each side in balanced form complimenting the vines on the wall behind.

Great attention to detail has been made in this work of art for if you study the work carefully you will be able to see such fine details as bricks, cloth patterns, and leaves on the trees. This is a wonderful documentation of what life was like for polite society in 17th Century Holland.

What Type Of Mortgage Loan Is Right For You?

Homebuyers and homeowners need to decide which home Mortgage loan is right for them. Then, the next step in getting a mortgage loan is to submit an application ( Uniform Residential Loan Application ). Although we try to make the loan simple and easy for you, getting a mortgage loan is not an insignificant process.

Below is a short synopsis of some loan types that are currently available.

CONVENTIONAL OR CONFORMING MORTGAGE Loans are the most common types of mortgages. These include a fixed rate mortgage loan which is the most commonly sought of the various loan programs. If your mortgage loan is conforming, you will likely have an easier time finding a lender than if the loan is non-conforming. For conforming mortgage loans, it does not matter whether the mortgage loan is an adjustable rate mortgage or a fixed-rate loan. We find that more borrowers are choosing fixed mortgage rate than other loan products.

Conventional mortgage loans come with several lives. The most common life or term of a

mortgage loan is 30 years. The one major benefit of a 30 year home mortgage loan is that one pays lower monthly payments over its life. 30 year mortgage loans are available for Conventional, Jumbo, FHA and VA Loans. A 15 year mortgage loan is usually the least expensive way to go, but only for those who can afford the larger monthly payments. 15 year mortgage loans are available for Conventional, Jumbo, FHA and VA Loans. Remember that you will pay more interest on a 30 year loan, but your monthly payments are lower. For 15 year mortgage loans your monthly payments are higher, but you pay more principal and less interest. New 40 year mortgage loans are available and are some of the the newest programs used to finance a residential purchase. 40 year mortgage loans are available in both Conventional and Jumbo. If you are a 40 year mortgage borrower, you can expect to pay more interest over the life of the loan.

A Fixed Rate Mortgage Loan is a type of loan where the interest rate remains fixed

over life of the loan. Whereas a Variable Rate Mortgage will fluctuate over the life

of the loan. More specifically the Adjustable-Rate Mortgage loan is a loan that has a

fluctuating interest rate. First time homebuyers may take a risk on a variable rate for qualification purposes, but this should be refinanced to a fixed rate as soon as possible.

A Balloon Mortgage loan is a short-term loan that contains some risk for the borrower. Balloon mortgages can help you get into a mortgage loan, but again should be financed into a more reliable or stable payment product as soon as financially feasible. The Balloon Mortgage should be well thought out with a plan in place when getting this product. For example, you may plan on being in the home for only three years.

Despite the bad rap Sub-Prime Mortgage loans are getting as of late, the market for this kind of mortgage loan is still active, viable and necessary. Subprime loans will be here for the duration, but because they are not government backed, stricter approval requirements will most likely occur.

Refinance Mortgage loans are popular and can help to increase your monthly disposable income. But more importantly, you should refinance only when you are looking to lower the interest rate of your mortgage. The loan process for refinancing your mortgage loan is easier and faster then when you received the first loan to purchase your home. Because closing costs and points are collected each and every time a mortgage loan is closed, it is generally not a good idea to refinance often. Wait, but stay regularly informed on the interest rates and when they are attractive enough, do it and act fast to lock the rate.

A Fixed Rate Second Mortgage loan is perfect for those financial moments such as home improvements, college tuition, or other large expenses. A Second Mortgage loan is a mortgage granted only when there is a first mortgage registered against the property. This Second Mortgage loan is one that is secured by the equity in your home. Typically, you can expect the interest rate on the second mortgage loan to be higher than the interest rate of the first loan.

An Interest Only Mortgage loan is not the right choice for everyone, but it can be very effective choice for some individuals. This is yet another loan that must be thought out carefully. Consider the amount of time that you will be in the home. You take a calculated risk that property values will increase by the time you sell and this is your monies or capital gain for your next home purchase. If plans change and you end up staying in the home longer, consider a strategy that includes a new mortgage. Again pay attention to the rates.

A Reverse mortgage loan is designed for people that are 62 years of age or older and already have a mortgage. The reverse mortgage loan is based mostly on the equity in the home. This loan type provides you a monthly income, but you are reducing your equity ownership. This is a very attractive loan product and should be seriously considered by all who qualify. It can make the twilight years more manageable.

The easiest way to qualify for a Poor Credit Mortgage loan or Bad Credit Mortgage loan is to fill out a two minute loan application. By far the easiest way to qualify for any home mortgage loan is by establishing a good credit history. Another loan vehicle available is a Bad Credit Re-Mortgage loan product and basically it’s for refinancing your current loan.

Another factor when considering applying for a mortgage loan is the rate lock-in. We discuss this at length in our mortgage loan primer. Remember that getting the right mortgage loan is getting the keys to your new home. It can sometimes be difficult to determine which mortgage loan is applicable to you. How do you know which mortgage loan is right for you? In short, when considering what mortgage loan is right for you, your personal financial situation needs to be considered in full detail. Complete that first step, fill out an application, and you are on your way!

Installation Considerations for Wall Hung Bathroom Suites

A wall hung bathroom suite can be the ideal addition to a contemporary bathroom remodel, adding just the right air of easy to clean practicality and minimalist style. Keeping the bathroom floor clear is an especial advantage in small bathrooms, where the extended floor area on show makes the bathroom appear larger than it is.

If you’re thinking of buying a wall hung bathroom suite, think about the installation stage early on in the decision making process. You need to know whether your bathroom walls are strong enough to bear the weight of a wall hung suite and (in the case of the toilet) its occupant. Of course, structural supports will be in place – your wall hung toilet and concealed cistern will be supported by a metal hanging frame hidden in the wall or within your bathroom furniture units – but your wall has to have sufficient inherent strength. If it does not, consider whether it is worth the additional effort and expense of strengthening or replacing the relevant wall, or whether a streamlined back-to-wall suite would make a suitable compromise for you.

Another thing to remember is that you won’t have the floor standing aspect of your sanitaryware (the pedestal of your basin and the floor of your toilet bowl) to help you in ensuring that the item in question is level. If you’re considering a DIY installation, make sure you have a spirit level, and you know how to use it! Wall hung bathroom suites look less attractive if they’re attached to the wall at a slant.

When you buy your wall hung toilet, you’ll need to purchase a mounting frame and concealed cistern, too. Often, these are sold separately rather than as part of a single pack: do make sure you’ve got everything you need before installation day, to save yourself a potentially costly last minute dash to a local bathroom supply yard.

Think, too, about where your existing soil pipe is positioned. If it goes out through the wall, you should be able to find a wall hung toilet with a waste outlet that will match your existing soil pipe, and this will minimise work and keep installation costs down. However, if your existing toilet has an outlet for waste that goes down through the floor, no wall hung toilet will be able to use the soil pipe you already have. The cost of moving the pipe should be factored into your bathroom installation budget, and you should consult a plumber as to the practicalities of the work involved.

Your bathroom suite manufacturer should supply fitting instructions along with your bathroom suite: ensure that you do follow these instructions as not only could you miss out a vital step by not reading them properly, your sanitaryware could also become damaged through incorrect installation and misuse.

Native Indian Jewelry Making – Navajo Silver Jewelry

Native Indian jewelry, especially of the Navajo and Zuni variety, is generating increasing interest for its beautiful and stunning design and workmanship. It is based on a tradition that is not that long, going back to about the middle of the 19th century. The emphasis here is on the silverwork that is employed in the making of the jewelry. There is a fascinating history which is worth looking into. It is an American legacy of the native Indians, from the time of the Spanish Conquest. So in that sense it is a tradition that goes back to the founding times of America.

Native American Indian jewelry was, and is, generally classified into two main types – beadwork and metalwork. Beadwork has a longer history stretching back to pre-Colombian times. It concentrated on the use of natural materials, and semi-precious gemstones, such as shells and turquoise, animal bones and ivory.

In this article, I am focusing on metalwork jewelry making. Because the skills and techniques of fashioning metal were not advanced until after the arrival of the Europeans on the American continent, the metalwork jewelry was, prior to that period, of relatively simple order. Iron and copper were used, so was brass and later silver. The technique was by manual hammering and etching. The fashioning of silver by silversmiths came after silversmithing was introduced by the Spaniards.

The influence was on the south-west of the American continent. In fact, it was the Mexicans first who learned the skill of silversmithing from the Spanish invaders. After the native Indians learned it from the Mexicans, their skill gradually grew and has developed into the intricate use of silver with gemstones like turquoise, with distinct designs that are stunningly eye-catching.

The Navajo are credited with being the tribe that helped spread the craft of silversmithing. Being of a nomadic nature, the Navajo came frequently into contact with the Spanish in the south-west from about the late 16th century. There were clashes and sometimes friendly association. The Spanish personal ornaments and adornments fascinated the Indians. And they began to copy or assimilate the Spanish style and began to wear ornaments made from so-called German silver. But silversmithing, using real silver, was not yet within their grasp.

Although the history is not completely certain, it is generally thought that the first Navajo silversmith was Atsidi Sani (also known as "Old Smith"), and the making of silver jewelry started in th 1860s. Atsidi Sani was among some 8000 of the Navajo tribe who were captured and imprisoned at Fort Sumner in New Mexico in 1864 to 1868. It seems that by the end of the captivity, Atsidi Sani learned the art of silversmithing. The art was transmitted to his sons, and spread to the Zuni in around 1872. Atsidi Chon (also known, possibly descriptively, as "Ugly Smith") tought his Zuni friend Lanyade the skill of making silver. The Navajo style was passed on to the Hopi, when they in turn learned making silver jewelry from the Zuni.

In the early days, the source of silver was Mexican and US coins. The US coins, being readily available and of good quality, were often used. In 1890 a law was passed prohibiting the melting of US coins, but that was more often honored in the breach than observation.

The elegant piece of Navajo or Navajo-style jewelry is the squash blossom necklace. This was actually adopting the Spanish crescent-shaped "naja" as the centerpiece of the necklace. The crescent was itself a legacy of Moorish influence upon the Spanish. Muslim Spain had a history of almost 800 years from 711-1492, with a flourishing culture.

Mechanism of Erection – How the Male Genitals Work

The firm and enlarged state of the penal is called anection. There are four factors that lead to the erection of the male genitals; neural, endocrine, vascular and physiological. The complex interaction between these four factors causes the penis to erect. When there is a disruption in any of the functions of these four factors, erection dysfunction or impotence may occur. In order to prevent any event of disruption, it is necessary that a male knows the mechanics of erection.

The physiological explanation for the mechanics of appreciation is simple. There are only two mechanisms that are involved inection; increased blood inflow and reduced blood flow. Initially, erection is triggered upon the functioning of physiological stimuli. It starts with the libido function which is directly occurring in the cerebral cortex. This is the sexual urge that makes a man feel the need for sex. When the libido arises, an impulse is sent to the spinal center which is then sent to the penis nerves.

The blood inflow mechanism of erection starts right after the impulse is sent to the penis nerves. When the penis nerve endings receive the impulse, arterioles dilate as smooth muscles relax. Because of this relaxation that occurs in the muscles, the spaces in the corpora nervosa, the chambers in the penal, are filled in. When these spaces are completely filled in, the space is no longer sufficient to accommodate the blood flow, then expansion follows.

The blood flow mechanism of erection starts upon copulation. Copulation is also called sexual intercourse. This takes place when the penal finally enters the vagina. This act continues until the ejaculation and orgasm is attained. Ejaculation and orgasm is reached by the continuous friction between the vaginal mucosa and penis glans. The friction is reinforced by the stimulation of psychogenic factors to discharge sperm from the sympathetic pathway to the seminal pathway. When the sperm reaches the seminal pathway, it is led to the posterior urethra by the blood flow. The brain sends impulses again to the muscles and this signals the end of the duplication because by the time the impulses were received by the penis nerves, orgasm is reached. After orgasm and ejaculation are reached, the discharge resumes and once again, the expanded muscles go back to their normal size as they contract and the blood that comes from the sinusoidal spaces is flowed out of the muscles.

When the above mechanism of erection is disrupted at any time of the process, orgasm and ejaculation is reached. Continuing events of disruption may totally damage the nerves in the penis and this will result to impotence or erectile dysfunction.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) Review

It was back in 2005 when Shadow of the Colossus graced the PS2 and went on to become one of, if not the best PS2 games ever. Thirteen years later this timeless classic has been re-introduced with a fresh coat of paint for the current generation of players.

So how does it hold up?

In this review, we will go through every aspect of this game like graphics, gameplay, story and overall experience in detail. However, to understand the pedigree of what we are looking at here, we need to look at one more aspect of this game which is its Legacy.

When it comes to timeless classics in video games, very few games have the impact of Shadow of the Colossus. I remember when I first booted the original SOTC on my PS2, back in 2005. I went in completely blind, not knowing anything about this game. No reviews or spoilers back in the day. After the initial roadblock of trying to figure out the climbing mechanics, it was a moment of awe that only a few games could provide at the time.

Fast forward 12 years, the second colossus was released. I knew that this was a rare masterpiece that needed to be savoured. And I was not the only one sharing this sentiment. Almost anyone who has played this game had a soft spot for it, regardless of whether they had finished it once or, like in my case, at least a dozen times.

But games have come a long way since 2005. And the sheer variety of genres and the advancements in mechanics that we have experienced in these 2 console generations since PS2 is staggering, which is why I am left speechless when I see how well the PS4 version of this game holds up today.

Story

The main story of SOTC can be written in a few sentences. Man tries to save beloved Mono. Man is offered a chance to do so by slaying 16 colossus. Man does it. And then the ending. But there is so much more complexity in this simple story. You cannot help but fall in love with every character. From Agro, your trusty steed, to the wanderer, the protagonist and each of the 16 magnificent colossi. All of this only leads to an emotional gut punch every time you kill these colossi. And not to mention an ending that is both as much an absolute heartbreak, as it is beautiful.

Graphics

Part of SOTCs charm lies in how simple everything is, and the underlying complexity is all born in the player’s mind. It may have been due to the limitations of the PS2 that things were kept so simple, but Bluepoint games have used that simplicity along with the PS4’s graphical fidelity, delivered in spades. This game is one the best looking games for the PS4 right now. Everything in this game, from landscapes to the towering colossus themselves, have been redone from the ground up. And the result is phenomenal. There is a staggering attention to detail in every nook and cranny of this game. And these visuals play a vital role in the overall experience of this remake.

Gameplay

The core gameplay of SOTC involves riding through the landscapes of the cursed land on the back of your horse, looking for the next Colossi. You are left to figure out where to go with help of your sword which reflects beams of light towards the direction of the target. Once you do find the Colossi, you need to figure out how to take them down as each of them need different strategy and planning. This keeps the game fresh all the way until the end. Reminiscent of the game’s simple theme is your arsenal, which consists of just a sword, and a bow and arrow.

For all the praise this game commands, there is no denying that the controls were a little janky. Even back in the PS2 days, we have had games with much better controls than SOTC. While we cannot say that this has been fully resolved in the remake, there are some notable changes here. The button layout is mapped to appeal to today’s gamers, which can be set back to original settings if you please. Adding to this there are also collectables in the game now and some clever Easter eggs referencing Mr Ueda’s other games.

While the core game can be finished in about 10 hours, longevity is provided through other difficulty settings and quirky rewards. And a mirrored mode which, well, mirrors the game screen and it feels surprisingly fresh. Add to this a Photo mode which lets you take screenshots of the game, with various filters and tools. Honestly, I spent hours here and the end results are all amazing.

Overall

The original SOTC on the PS2 took players’ breath away and added to the notion that video games are indeed an art. It was timeless in its own right and did not need a remaster. But this remaster was still made and the result is a Masterpiece. Had the PS4 come out in 2005, this may have been Fumito Ueda’s original vision. We may never know, but as gamers, we can only thank the creators for making this happen. SOTC on the PS4 is not only an essential but a timeless classic which sets new standards for remakes.

Your First Century Ride – A Strategy

If you are looking to successfully complete your first century, there are some simple steps you can complete to get to finish line feeling comfortable and in as little pain as possible.

Choose your course carefully. If you will be participating in an organized ride, make sure you research the course thoroughly. Talk with other cyclists and Google reviews of the actual ride. Look at the course profile to see how many climbs there are and if you are comfortable with them. I would not pick the Triple Bypass Ride of Colorado as my first century for example. Find out how well organized the ride is and what the rest stops will be stocking.

Make sure you train. My buddy Curt is a fantastic athlete and has that mental edge that you need to go one step beyond your pain threshold. Because he lives in New York, he has a tough time finding places that will allow him to ride at a consistent effort for prolonged periods of time. If you want to be comfortable for an entire century, you need to be able to schedule time to ride long. You can finish on a long ride of 40+ miles like Curt did, but I am sure even he would tell you that it would be better to get as many long rides in you as possible. I would look to complete at least three rides of 75 miles before the century. This will help your body acclimate to a high level of output for a prolonged period of time.

Practice everything – especially nutrition. You will hear tons of people tell you, "Do not try anything new on race day," and this is true of a century as well, even if it is not a race. Come the day of your event, you should know how many calories your body can process in an hour during exercise and the best way to deliver those calories. You should know what your stomach is telling you if you feel bloated or hungry and the best way to solve that issue. You should always put together a feed plan and follow it closely come the day of your event.

Get a good group of same level people around you. It is tough to ride with people who are much faster or slower than you are. If you have people of different abilities and experience levels, you will need to make a commitment at the beginning of the ride to stay together and not push anyone outside of what they are comfortable with. Our group was pretty good with this. We did get separated a couple of times, but we were determined to finish together and everyone crossed the line. When you ride with friends, it makes the miles quickly pass by.

Try and ride with your crew before the big day. The CASVAR was a good experience for our group. This is the core group that we will be riding LOTOJA with and we learned that it takes time to work on paceline strategies together. We could put people out on front for 2:00 and then have them rotate without any problems, but quick rotations like: 15 when the wind was really strong was not possible because we had not practiced these together as a group.

Get a tune-up on your bike a week before your event. It always helps to have someone check your cables, make sure you are all greased and lubed up, and that all your moving parts are working. There is nothing more annoying to me than to have someone in my group's chain start to creak because it is dirty. Do not be that person in your group. Simple maintenance may be all that is required, but please, for the love of everything that is holy, make sure your bike is running in stealth mode – as quiet as possible.

Ride within yourself for the first 75 miles. After the 75 mile mark, you can put the hammer down, but for your first ride, resist temptation and dial your effort back. You may finish a little slower than your abilities allow, but you will finish. Take your time and soak in the experience. Talk with other cyclists around you, make sure people who are pushed over to the side of the road have what they need, and just enjoy yourself. It will make the experience that much sweeter. Once you hit the 75 mile mark, evaluate your mental and physical status. If you are still feeling good, put the hammer down and fly.

Celebrate your victory. No matter how fast or slow you were, regardless if you hit your goals or not, you still made it 100 miles. You really should celebrate. At the finish, kick back with your friends, do a little dance, make a little noise, and get down. You may not be able to walk upright, but you still finished and should be proud of your accomplishment!

Weight Lifting Vs Cardio – Which is Best For Fat Loss?

For years we heard that if you wanted to lose weight you should do cardio or aerobics. This advice was given to us in the '80s and' 90s and even at the beginning of the '00s. But in recent years, some research studies tend to suggest that weight lifting may provide many of the same benefits as cardio. Moreover, the argument has been made that adding muscle can actually increase your metabolism's burn rate and the result is that you end up burning more calories 24 hours a day.

But which is right? We may never have a comprehensive answer but what does seem to be true is that when these activities are done with high intensity and in intervals, fat burning may increase. Perhaps the best news of all is that these physical changes can occur in a reliably short period of time.

One study that was published in the Journal of Applied Physiology (JAP) indicated that after a mere 14 days of interval training, 75% of the college men and women doubled their endurance. This was measured as the time they could ride a bike at a moderate intensity before they had to succumb to exhaustion. A control group showed no improvement.

As far as fat burning goes, another study in the JAP had 8 women in their twenties completed 7 intense interval cycling training sessions over a period of two weeks. At the end of that period, they performed an hour of moderate cycling and it was found that their rate of fat burning had increased by a whooping 36%. In addition, their cardio vascular fitness had increase 13%.

What was also very interesting about this study is that it did not matter what shape the women were in before they started. All shown significant improvement in fat burning. That's good news to those of us who are not pro athletes.

But to come back to the question we started this article with, what does this mean in the weight lifting vs. cardio debit? Adding in some interval training no matter which type of exercise we prefer is likely to help us lose more fat over time. And that can only be a good thing.

Patrol Services Los Angeles

Most of the security services offered by companies include personal guards, patrol services, unarmed forces and armed forces, and among these services our concern is on patrolling. Where guards are employed as security officers to guard society from criminals and crimes.

Some of the organizations or institutes provide training and patrolling services, to find out efficient security officers, they see to that they have all the latest equipment for catching thieves easily like, cameras, mobiles, computers, tracking systems etc.

This ensures best surveillance protection, thus this reduces the crime.

Patrol services are offered to ensure protection of youth from miss leading or doing attacks on people. These services are quite different from deputy services, where the men are having only responsibility of suppressing the trouble, but they do not have the arrest strategy. They can arrest them but cannot do any other activity like beating them up. But if the crowds do some sort of damage to any property then they have the rule of washing them away from the place

There is variety of patrol services offered by many organizations and a few include

1. Shared community patrol

2. Assigned community patrol

Shared community patrol includes services to be offered for few communities which are close to reach that is the destinations are reachable within small amount of time. This makes the client or the person who faced the damage gets his problem solved in small amount of time, these patrols are mainly used in areas where the troubles occur most frequently.

Security measures and services are given out by some specific organizations, to reduce the crime rate, among all those services, patrolling stands out to be one of the toughest.

The other kind of patrolling service is

Assigned community patrol

How To Choose Between Roof Repair And Roof Replacement

A number of homeowners in Atlanta give serious thought to getting their roof repaired just prior to the winter months. If you have been thinking the same, do not put it off for yet another year thinking that there is hardly enough time to fix all the likely roof problems. It may take you time to undertake a thorough inspection of all the roofing problems, identifying major and minor problems and correcting the same.

However, for a roof repair specialist in Atlanta, this is just another day's job. In fact, you can always hire the services of one of the professional roofing contractors to look at your roof and do same day repairs. Checking the flashing and undoing and animal damage should be the main priority for such repairs.

Just the thought of getting one's roof repaired makes them check their bank balance and start budgeting for the same. However, you can leave all the heavy lifting to professional roofers in Atlanta and ask them for free, obligation free estimates. It will be a wise decision to get your roof repaired well in time before it is too late and you are left with no other choice but to go for roof replacement.

The latter is bound to cost you dearly and it will take more than a few days to complete the job. While it is acceptable to opt for roof repair rather than roof replacement if there are minor problems of leaking roofs or loose and broken shingles, roof replacement becomes inevitable if you see flaking or powdering of the same.

There are some key indicators that can help you determine if you need roof repair or it is time for a full scale replacement of the same. If your roof is more than 20 years old, it would be safe to say that it is time to get professional roofers to replace it. Every kind of roof requires regular upkeep and maintenance and if you have not been doing the same, you are likely to need roof replacement even earlier.

If nearly 20 percent of your roof shingles are flaking or powdery, replacing them is a more viable option. Some other roof replacement indicators are blistering of interior walls or formation of dark spots on the ceiling. Discoloration of attic walls, regular leaking, curling up of shingles, and speedy build up of algae or mold on the roof surface are some other roof replacement signs that one must not ignore.

Paint Protection Film – What Is It?

Everything you purchase, you seem to want to keep safe from harm. Whether it be screen protectors and cases for your phone, or sleeves for your laptop, you want to ensure it remains scratch and damage free for as long as it can survive. So why then, do people not care the same about their cars? I mean sure, you wouldn’t give two hoots if the car you drive is just some beat up old lemon, but there are more new cars on the road now more than ever (FCAI 2017). New cars today are more fragile, delicate, and quite frankly, aren’t exactly built to last like old cars. No wonder you hear the passing comment of “they don’t make ’em like they used to”. So it makes sense to want to ensure your car will last as long as it possibly can.

Now, there are preventative measures, such as ensuring it’s well maintained, cleaning it, and driving carefully. But, what about factors you can’t control. For instance, a small piece of gravel that’s been kicked up by a semi-trailer, and ricochets off your bonnet, or roof, or mirror, or any part. This is where paint protection film steps in. Its purpose is similar to that of bulletproof glass (please do not shoot at a car with paint protection film). It’s job is to absorb the impact by acting as a barrier. Its composition is made up of a polyurethane film, not too far off the stuff used on armoured glass. The use of paint protection film is to ensure that little to no harm comes to your vehicle. I mean, it’s not going to protect you if you another car slams into you at 60km/h. That job is reserved for your seatbelt and airbags. It will, however, stop those unruly scratches, stone chips, and even minor abrasions. It even protects your paint work from pollutants and contaminants, such as bird droppings, tree sap, dirt, dust and other unfavourable things that could damage your paint. Paint protection film can save you a tonne of money in the long run. While more affordable alternatives, namely ceramic coating, are available, they do not provide the protection against scratches and rock chips. Paint protection film does.

Paint protection film is also a fantastic way to preserve your vehicles colour, especially if it’s a custom colour! It’s a preferred product for classic cars, you know, the ones that were “made like they used to”. These cars are often high end classics, with discontinued paint finishes, so it’s no wonder they would want paint protection.
