In case you can’t prevent zits, what you desperately want to know is, how to get rid of spots fast, so that you can get on with living your life.

We are going to explain to you how to get rid of spots fast, by using a number of items you should be able to find in the average home. You’re going to need some toothpaste, honey, aspirin, and for those who have it, Witch Hazel and/or Tea Tree oil along with eye drops for red eyes.

1 – Crush an aspirin in a bowl and mix in a couple of drops of water. Dip a cotton bud in the solution and hold it on the zit for around half a minute. This ought to help lessen the spot’s inflammation and make it much less visible.

2 – Tooth paste can be a great way to stop spots from ruining your schedule. Dab a pea size quantity of the normal toothpaste (not the gel type) on the pimple at night time. By the morning, the toothpaste will have shrunk the spot by drying it out.

3 – Honey, particularly Manuka honey is yet another great way to stop pimples. Honey has got natural anti bacterial qualities, therefore placing a small quantity on a plaster and then wearing it over the pimple as you are sleeping will help to shrink it.

4 – Eye drops, such as the type you use for reducing bloodshot eyes, are also great for treating spots, calming a fresh pimple down so it is much less visible. These kinds of eye drops work by constricting the blood vessel in the eye to reduce redness, and they are able to do exactly the same for a nasty zit.

5 – Witch Hazel & Tea Tree oil have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so if you’re prone to spots, keep these at home and dab some on each time a spot shows up to stop it in its tracks.

So now you know how to get rid of spots fast, it isn’t the end of the world if a spot turns up right before a big day.

Changing Your Headlight Bulbs – A Guide to the Most Commonly Asked Car Bulb Questions

If you are looking to buy, replace or even upgrade your headlight bulbs there seems to be an immense amount of advice available. Typically the amount of information that is passed down through word of mouth can be confusing and so listed below are some of these most commonly asked questions and answers.

Should I buy and replace headlight bulbs in pairs?

Yes. This makes good common sense advice for two reasons. Firstly if one of your bulbs has blown it is very likely that the other one will go fairly soon, so if you have taken the effort of changing one bulb you might as well change the other whilst your at it, and then you will not have to repeat the process for a considerable time.

The other reason for changing car bulbs in pairs is because as a bulb gets towards the end of its life its light performance is not at its optimum level and so installing one brand new headlight bulb whilst leaving the other old bulb in place will cause a light imbalance, meaning you are not getting the best light performance from your headlight bulbs.

Can I touch the glass when changing the headlight bulbs?

No. No matter how clean your hands are, when you touch the glass you will leave a residue of some of your skins natural oils. When the headlight bulb is illuminated this oil creates a hot spot on the glass and can lead to the bulb failing much earlier than expected.

Top car bulb manufacturers now use toughened quartz glass in their bulbs and so this hotspot issue is not such a factor as it used to be. However it is still good practice to wear latex gloves when handling headlight bulbs to ensure you get the best service life from them.

My car has plastic headlight lenses, does it matter which headlight bulbs I buy?

Yes. If you install headlight bulbs that do not have special UV filtered glass it will very quickly, discolour and eventually damage the plastic lenses. Therefore if you do have plastic lenses on your vehicle make sure the headlight bulbs you buy have special UV cut glass, this will normally be labeled clearly on the packaging.

If I want brighter headlights on the road can I fit high wattage headlight bulbs?

No. Whilst high wattage headlight bulbs can be over twice as bright as standard bulbs, they are not legal on public roads. This is because the incredible bright light they produce can easily temporarily blind on coming drivers.

If you are looking to improve your headlights, you should install upgrade headlight xenon bulbs, these are identical to your existing bulbs but are filled with xenon gas and so emit up to 90% more light, and best of all they are completely road legal.

Is the owner’s manual the best way to find out what headlight auto bulbs are fitted to my vehicles?

Yes and No. Normally the owner’s manual will give you accurate information about which type of bulbs you have fitted to your vehicle and their location. However during a production run, vehicle manufacturers do sometimes change the specification, design or parts supplier and so the subsequent bulbs used may differ from the original manual.

Therefore the best way to find out which type of bulbs have been fitted to your vehicle is to remove them and check it visually. Normally the bulb type is printed on the bulbs base.

Buying and replacing your headlight bulbs should normally be a straightforward job, however as is the case with most technical items, being armed with the right information will help you make the decision easier. Fitting the right headlight bulbs, correctly will not only save you money in the long run, but also make night driving safer and less stressful.

6G Pipe Welding: A Hard Look at What Makes A $100K Pipe Welder Rock Star

There is a pipe welding boom coming.

With the coming approval of the Keystone Pipeline, plus all the shale oil activity, and even President Obama saying he likes natural gas, the demand for 6G code pipe welders is going to go through the roof. The question is, how do you get hired to weld pipe?

The traditional road to employment doesn’t work so well.

For decades, a pipe welder is an apprentice in a union, becomes a journeyman, and during his or her entire career, most of their jobs come from the union book. You get on the book and when your name comes up, you get a call.

Sure, some unions play games and politics with the book, but the system has served union workers well for a long time. However, it isn’t the only or best way to get work any longer. This article isn’t about if unions are good or bad, it is about YOU getting work.

How does a top actor or athelete get work?

There are four types of people who are looking for work of any kind at any one time. You may be one type now. You can change your marketing of “You Inc.” and change your world, it’s up to you.

Did I say marketing?

Have you ever said something like, “I hate salespeople” or “I would never sell anything”? Look, the one fact you and all of us have to face right now, no matter what anyone tells you, is that we are all marketing everything to each other. You are already marketing, you just may not be very good at it.

Want proof?

If you’re married, it is ONLY because you market yourself to your spouse good enough to be still married. If you like your kids, it is because they market themselves to you well enough, that you like them. The same is true with your dog. Do you believe me now? Here are the four styles that are out there.

6G Code Pipe Welder Type #1:

True-Blue Union Pipe Welders Who Know Who, What, Where, When.

These are the people who are in the union loop, and count on union clout on union jobs to get hired. They are not the welders who are knocking on the door to join the union in tough times. These welders would never work a non-union job. These guys are so well connected, that as long as they can strike an arc they’ll be working as much as they want to.

6G Code Pipe Welder Type #2:

They welded pipe a while back.

These are the welders applying with every union and applying for every job out there that they might have a chance of getting a chance to test. They have a problem. They think if they get a chance to test, they will pass, even though it’s been two years since they ran a root on pipe.

6G Code Pipe Welder Type #3: Fresh pipe school graduates.

These are the students who just graduated from pipe school. They managed to certify at the end of school after welding 30 test joints or less. They can’t understand why they won’t be welding pipe any time soon, and why they are finding it hard to even get on as a pipe welder’s helper.

6G Code Pipe Welder Type #4: Rock Star Pipe Welder.

If you’re going to weld pipe, stand out. If you’re currently a pipe welder or you want to be one, determine now to practice enough that you are in total control. How can you do that? Practice at the edge of your ability, and do it a lot.

Frankly, welding up 200 6G test joints AFTER you certify would be a good idea. Next, film yourself welding pipe that is in the 6G position with you welding in a mirror, with you welding upside down, with you under a pipe, with you in a tight spot. Put the clips together into a single clip that’s about 90 seconds long.

Think about rock stars.

Do they screw around with their guitars once a week? Do they do the most reserve and minimum thing to get gigs? Heck no! They practice by LIVING with that guitar 24/7. They find crazy and wild schemes to get noticed. (No, you don’t have to smash up your welding machine). The intensity of your practice and the number of joints you weld does make all the difference.

Make pipe welding ROCK for YOU.

Once you have certified 6G, and then practiced enough to make the video described above, put that video on You Tube, and every social page you can. Put it on your website with your written resume. Get a simple to say (over the phone) and easy to remember URL.

Bottom Line:

There is no substitute for practice. On the other hand, anyone of average ability can become a master pipe welder if they just focus like a Rock Star on what matters. Once you get it down, the next step is more marketing. You have to get noticed, and get those who hire pipe welders to see your video.

Think about this:

If you’re hiring pipe welders, and you have the option of hiring a pipe welder who just got out of school, and then a resume comes in with this pipe welder rock-star-like video, who ya gonna call?

3 Weird Screwdrivers and Their Uses

I am sure that everyone has used a Phillips or flathead screwdriver at some point. They are very handy tools and are essential for taking apart various things around the house.

What you might not be aware of is that there are many other kinds of screwdrivers that might be handy to have in certain situations. We have all come across a weirdly shaped head of a screw and it can be frustrating.

I am going to share three types of screwdrivers that aren’t as common that you might be interested in having around.

Now let’s look at these three unusual screwdrivers.

1. First we are going to take a look at a torx screwdriver.

This is that annoying six pointed star shape that you run across every so often. It looks pretty much just like a Phillips screwdriver except the head on the torx screwdriver is a six pointed star shape.

Torx screws are commonly used to put together computers. So, to take apart a computer, you will probably need to have a torx screwdriver. Another thing that uses a lot of torx screws is a car. If you do any work on cars, chances are you will end up needing a torx screwdriver.

2. The second screwdriver in this list is the Robertson screwdriver.

It is named after its inventor P.L. Robertson. This type of screwdriver is used to drive and loosen screws with a square head. It is actually a popular screw in Canada but it is not very common in the United States.

This type of screw is used for many things. Some of the things it is used for include cabinets, decks, vinyl windows, vinyl doors, and many things made of sheet metal.

Here is a fun fact about this screwdriver. When Harrison Ford was first manufacturing cars he wanted to use this screw on his assembly line. However, he wasn’t able to get a licensing agreement so he started using Philips screws instead.

3. The last screwdriver we will look at is the tri wing screwdriver.

Just like the other screwdrivers, this type is much like the Phillips only the head is a Y-shape instead of an X-shape.

This is a very common type of screw when it comes to electronics. In fact, I am willing to bet that you can’t take apart 90% of electronics without using a screwdriver with a tri-wing head. This is very handy to have around so you can fix some of your electronics yourself.

Sperm Taste – 10 Simple Tips For Better Tasting Semen

Sperm taste is affected by what you eat, as are all secretions from the body.

It is a fact that your sperms taste can be improved and making your semen taste better, can be done with a few simple diet changes.

Diet has A major influence on sperm taste as it’s a secretion from the body like any other.

Just as your sweat can smell strongly after eating a heavily spiced meal your sperm will also reflect the spices in its taste.

The make up of sperm

Semen is made up of ninety percent (90%) seminal fluids including fructose (sugar) protein, and various trace minerals and nutrients.

The PH of semen is 7 and scientifically neutral, yet it tastes slightly acidic. Let’s take a look at the actual ingredients of semen.

A man’s ejaculate is actually only 1% sperm.

The rest is composed of various proteins, vitamins, sugars, salts, cholesterol, and water. All the extras are what protect, feeds, fuels the sperm in its journey.

As you can see in terms of semen’s composition, it’s fairly obvious that what you eat will make it taste better or worse!

Getting a sweeter taste

With sperm taste, the aim is to make it taste sweeter.

All men have a semen taste that is exclusive to them, but the major complaint on sperm taste is normally always the same:

It tastes bitter or salty; let’s look at how to make semen taste sweeter

Pineapple, papaya cranberry, melons, mangos, apples grapes are all good choices. These fruits are high in natural sugars and offset the bitter taste.

Your semen can be made to taste better by overall changes in diet and lifestyle, it’s a complex formula and a good healthy diet has the biggest affect.

8. Parsley, wheatgrass, and celery are particularly recommended for sweeter semen taste, because of their high chlorophyll content.

9. Cinnamon, cardamom, peppermint and lemon are particularly recommended for making semen taste sweeter.

Try and eat food “from the earth” i.e. as naturally as possible. Also consider taking a zinc and selenium supplement, both are needed for healthy sperm and can make the taste better.

Finally, strong smelling semen may indicate an infection, so if your semen taste doesn’t change when you change your diet, you should consider a visit to the doctor.

Your aim with your diet is to eat one that helps your overall health and the above recommendations will not only make your semen taste better you will also feel fitter and healthier as well.

Keep in mind that you can eat some of the foods we don’t recommend for sperm taste.

You can enjoy red meat and the occasional spiced curry just keep in mind the following when considering sperm taste:

What you put into your body takes between 12 and 24 hours to secrete out and you should simply keep this in mind before eating and deciding whether you want a better sperm taste on that particular day or not!

Automatic Gates: Pros and Cons

Why are automatic gates important? The popularity of living within a gated community is increasing but why? Are people concerned with status or safety?

Automatic gates are gates that open and close without the assistance of a person when the conditions are presented and fulfilled. For instance, in Oscoda where we vacation we have an automatic slide gate. In order to exit or enter the facility we must press in a code, a different number for each resident. We enter this code into a small access control system that sits to the side of the gate. When we key in the correct code we are then allowed to enter or exit. Emergency vehicles such as police and fire trucks are given an emergency response code to access the gate in case of an emergency with in the cabin association.

There are many positives and negatives associated with gated communities. I love the freedom it allows us on our family trips to the cabin. We know everyone in the association and traffic is always minimal so you feel very safe letting your kids play with other kids in the area without the worry of outsiders entering. The safety I feel on vacation is worth every dime we paid to have the automatic gate. It also gives us a greater sense of security with the cabin when we are not around. I am not as worried about someone entering the cabin and removing our belongings.

The gate is also a wonderful addition to keep the kids from traveling outside of the allotted area. A busy road is right outside the gate. I don’t worry at all about my children accidentally riding their bikes out into the traffic causing a potential deadly situation. The gate holds two purposes keeping people out and keeping people in.

I also really like the class status it gives to our cabin association. It defiantly makes the grounds and landscaping richer. I am sure when people drive pass they are thinking about the level of people that live within. Not realizing it is really just us, cabin dwellers. It is funny how something like an automatic gate can change the status of an establishment.

Many people consider automatic gates and inconvenience. My girlfriend hates that when she visits us at the condo she has to call us and we have to buzz her in. I never give my code out to anyone. Personal information such as that is meant to stay within the family and that is it. If someone uses the cabin they are given a temporary code that the association assigns and is only viable during the dates we give them access to the cabin. I know the resale value of our cabin went up once the gate was installed and operating. Of course I see this is a benefit but potential home buyers may not. Gated communities tend to be a bit more pricey than their non-gated counterparts.

Before you decide on living full time in a gated community way the options available to you which will help you make a more educated decision. I know or home is not located within a gated community and I feel equal as safe allowing the kids to play and stay home alone. I have spent time making friends with the neighbors; I choose to live on the end of a private dirt road with minimal traffic and installed motion lights around the house for the evening hours. This and the knowledge that I keep very good tabs on the where about of my family at all times makes me feel like I have made the right choice for both our cabin and residence.

Design of Rain Gutter Systems For Home Construction

After I received the 2008 edition of the State of Michigan building code I eagerly looked through the table of contents for rain gutters only to find no mention of these troubling troughs that hang at the edges of a roof. So I looked to the index only to be disappointed again. There was no mention specifically of rain gutter systems to be found. I am a licensed building contractor here in Michigan and have been repairing, reworking and cleaning gutters for over five years. Gutters are not designed into a house; they are simply tacked on as an afterthought by workers of various skills and abilities.

The long term maintenance problems and damage caused by poorly designed and installed gutters cost millions of dollars. Millions of dollars from injuries and even the death of homeowners trying to clean their gutters must also be taken into account. Start with the grade; how does water naturally flow around the house? The roof and gutters should be oriented so the water flows away from the house and never over walks, drives, decks or patios. A cistern to hold water for irrigation can then be the starting point for the design of your house.

Here are several design details that should be incorporated into the building code:

1. A downspout is required for a run of gutter not to exceed twenty feet. This will allow for slope of 1/20″ per linear foot giving proper drainage. This will decrease molds, mildew and breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Subtract one foot for every inside or outside mitered corner. Example: a run of gutter with two turns should not exceed 18′ without a downspout.

2. Downspouts will be of the “commercial” (3″ X 4″ or 4″ round) size. The larger pipe will not clog with leaves and seeds as easily.

3. Gutters draining upper roofs over lower roofs must be accessible by ladder from the ground.

4.Downspouts will be fixed to the gutter by cutting tabs into the bottom of the trough then bending them down to allow a screw or pop rivet to fix the downspout to the gutter. This eliminates the outlet flange which leaks and causes leaves and seeds to catch.

5. One-piece “offset” elbows will be used instead of two-piece elbows that are commonly assembled on-site now. In my experience I have yet to see these one-piece offsets clog. The upper two-piece elbow is where the vast majority of clogs are found. Many times the entire downspout has to be removed and taken apart to clear the clog.

6. The vertical pipe will have a maximum of three turns; two at the outlet for the gutter and one at bottom extension.

7. Downspout pipes that are not vertical must be avoided!

8. The bottom of the lower elbow will be at least one foot above the grade with a four foot extension.

9. Downspouts or gutters will NEVER be let out onto a roof surface or into a roof valley!

10. A minimum of two pipe bands will be used for every downspout or every ten feet of downspout to fix the vertical pipe to the house.

11. “Internal” or “hidden” hangers with screws will be used instead of gutter nails. These internal hangers are far superior to old-fashioned nails that must be located precisely in the ends of rafters, ceiling joists or trusses to work properly.

12. “Two-by” ( 2 X 6 or 2 X 8) lumber will be used instead of one-inch planks now used to make the fascia. The lumber will be covered with pre-coated aluminum to permanently seal the wood from the elements. This will allow the internal hangers to be placed every twenty-four inches with little need for precision.

13. A gutter hanger will be at least six inches from the center of an outlet.

Too often houses are designed for curb appeal and the roof is not a considered as a functional system to protect the home from the elements but as a fashion statement. The gratuitous use of steep slopes, valleys, ridges, dormers, gables and even turrets will only decrease the long-term value of a house. Reducing water run-off and enhancing the irrigation needs of the landscaping can be a huge benefit to the environment. The cost to replace roofs, clean and maintain gutters and the potential damage from water intrusion must be balanced with the aesthetics of the home: form follows function; beauty is found in the functionality of the design.

Maintaing Your Hair Extensions for Longer Lasting Hair

Many believe that although they have hair extensions they don’t have to take care of their hair. This is not true. Without proper care of your hair extensions you can cause your extensions to tangle and shed. When you purchase your hair you want them to look flawless and last. So the people at the hair nation came up with some simple tips to keep your hair extensions looking fabulous.

One of the first tips is keeping your hair moisturized. Although the hair that you have attached to your head is not growing for your scalp it still needs to be taken care of. Hair that is cut from the root tends to be very dry. You definitely want to keep your hair moisturized if its human hair. Products that are good for keeping your weave moisturized are Shea Moisture and Bio-silk Silk Therapy. Both of these products can be purchased at your local Target. These products will lock in moisture so your hair extensions may have shine and last.

Step two to keeping your weave looking flawless is, keeping oily products out of your extensions. You may think hair gloss, shine, grease, oil sheen and hair spray are your friends, but when wearing a weave they are your worst enemies. The products that were listed above can cause you weave to look heavy and limp. These products also cause your hair extensions to attract dirt. Dirt build up causes your hair to itch and sometimes can become tangled or matted. Try not use any of these products, trust me you don’t need them.

Another step to keeping your hair looking great is, the less heat the better. You may think that applying heat on your human hair is not damaging to your extensions, but it is. Applying heat to your extensions can cause your hair extensions to become thin, brittle and dry. Heat can also shorten the longevity of your hair extensions. If you can I suggest you try to stay away from heat. Use curlers or rollers as an alternative.

One of the last steps to having beautiful hair is having a nightly routine. Having a nightly routine can make you hair last longer and look healthy. My nightly routine consist of me brushing my hair and loosely platting my hair. After this I make sure that I wrap my hair with a silk scarf. If you don’t want a silk scarf, I would suggest you get a silk pillowslip.

These are just a few steps that can keep your extension looking great and lasting long. For more great tips check out http://www.thehairnation.net.

Top Ten Places That One Must See in Varanasi

Varanasi, while being a city that is famous all over the globe as one of the top destinations in India, is largely perceived as a pilgrimage city where one can capture glimpses of strange Hindu customs, the pilgrims bathing in the incredibly polluted Ganges, saffron-clad Sadhus selling pseudo-spirituality to gullible foreigners, burning dead bodies on the ghats, the dope hungry hippie crowd, and to possibly experience a ‘spiritual awakening’ in one of the many temples of Varanasi. Varanasi however, has much more to offer to a traveler who is willing to shed the dump of prejudices and biases triggered by blatant misinformation. The list of “top ten places that one must see in Varanasi” attempts to unfold and unravel the rich kaleidoscope of colours that decorate the cultural, social and spiritual fabric of Varanasi. The list is not comprehensive and is only indicative of the rich historical landscape of Varanasi and includes some of the “Best Places That You Must See in Varanasi”.

1) Varanasi Ghats: The ghats on the banks of the river Ganges are the soul of Varanasi. The ghats are virtually the kaleidoscope of belief, customs and traditions that constitute the philosophy that is Varanasi. There are 84 ghats in number – huge rectangular stairs that lead to the river edge. Some of them were built as early as the 12 century while others have a more recent origin.

2) Kashi Vishwanath Temple: Originally built in 1776 by Maharani Ahilya Devi of Indore, the towers of the temple were gold plated by the Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1835 who donated 1000 kg of gold. The ‘shivalinga’ in the temple 60 cm tall and 90 cm in circumference housed in a silver altar.

3) St. Mary’s Church: St. Mary’s is probably the oldest Protestant Church in North India outside Calcutta. The foundation stone was laid on 29th April 1810 by Daniel Corrie. This beautiful Church is situated in 11.25 acres of land and has historic background which will be seen from the monuments in the campus of British soldiers who died in action. St Mary”s Church is situated in the cantonment area of Varanasi. This church has a low tower, spire and projecting portico. There are three simple louvered doors beneath plain cornices alternating with two bays, each with white plaster niches. Above each doorway is a rectangular fanlight, protected from the glare of the sun by a plain timber canopy – a simple device which has a major architectural impact.

4) Manikarnika Ghat: Also known as the “Mahashamsana’ or the ‘ Great Cremation Ground of the World’, Manikarnika ghat is where dead are brought from all over the country to be cremated by fire. There is a ‘sacred fire’ that has been burning since centuries and it is the fire from this that is used for the cremation. It is believed that those who are cremated at Manikarnika ghat attain moksha and their souls are set free from the endless cycle of birth and death.

5) Bharat Kala Bhavan: An archaeological museum built in the campus of the Banaras Hindu University. Established in 1920, the museum has vast collection of over 100,000 artifacts like paintings, textiles, costumes, decorative arts, Indian philately and literary and archival materials. The first floor has Numismatic Gallery (collection of coins), Archaeological Gallery, Decorative Art Gallery, Benaras Through the Ages Gallery and Galleries on Alice Boner and M. K. Gupta. There are some proposed extensions of galleries like the Gallery of Archive and Literary Materials, Gallery on Textiles and Costumes and a Gallery of Metal Images.

6) Ramnagar Fort: This fort-palace was built in the eighteenth century and is the home of the king of Kashi( or Varanasi). Built in red sandstone, the fort has a museum displaying the Royal collection which includes vintage Cars, Royal palkies, an armory of swords and old guns, ivory work and antique clocks. Also, on display are ornate palanquins, gold-plated howdahs and weapons.

Chunar fort is constructed at a height of 80′ to 175′ from the land level of Chunar. The fort area is approx. 3400 Sq. yard, its length is 800 yard & width is 133 to 300 yard. The Chunar Fort is located at a distance of 42 kilometers fron Varanasi city. Worth seeing inside the fort are the Sonva Mandap, Raja Bhartihari Samadhi, Bavan Khamba & Solar Watch.

8) Sarnath: A small town barely 12 kms from Varanasi rail junction, Sarnath is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage and heritage site. This is where the Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Sarnath is home to the excavated remains of the ancient Buddhist monasteries, the famous Lion capital – India’s national emblem, a archaeological museum, huge stupas including the Dhamek and Chaukhandi Stupa and many Buddhist temples built here by missions from Japan, China, Tibet, Cambodia and others.

9) Nepali Temple: This unique temple is situated on the Lalita Ghat on the bank of the river Ganges. The temple was commissioned by the King of Nepal and is built in the Nepali style of architecture by workers who were brought from Nepal to create this marvel. The wood used in the temple is also found in Nepal. The specialty of the wood used in the temple is that termites do not eat this wood. The temple features magnificent wood work and there are erotic wooden sculptures built in to the external columns and facades.Due to the erotic sculptures, it is also called ‘mini-khajuraho’. Another popular name for this temple is the ‘kaathwala’ temple.

10) Lakhania Dari Caves and Waterfall: Located at a distance of around 45 kms from Varanasi are the beautiful small hills of the Vindhyanchal mountain ranges. Ensconced in the hills is a mesmerizing waterfall that drains in to a small clear water lake. This is the Lakhania Dari. A small stream originates from the lake and huge boulders are strewn all over the two km long trek that leads to the waterfall from the lake. Ancient rock caves can be seen on the rocky face of the hills that surround the region. A visual treat for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

What Happens When You Change Your Roof? – A Feng Shui Perspective

Houses can and do outlive people. And periodically, a house will need a new roof. Professional roofers suggest a new roof every 20-30 years. In classical Feng Shui, we know that the interior energy of a house is captured when it was built and specifically when the roof has been installed to close out the direct energy of the Sun into the house. During the building process, the roof may go on before the ceiling or ceilings in the case of a multi-storied home.

So, a common question amongst Feng Shui clients and students is whether or not the removal of the roof will change the inherent and semi-permanent energies inside the house. The answer to this question is multi-faceted depending on a number of circumstances. But for the most part, if a roof is removed while leaving the ceiling intact, then the original energy of the house will not change or “escape.” These are the kinds of things considered also when a person adds on a second story and how they do it.

We call this energy the flying stars, or the flying star chart for the house, which is a combination of energies from “heaven” above and “earth” below. It is a merging of time and space components which ends up having a profound and continuous effect on the people who dwell in the house or building.

A ceiling will act as a second roof, so unless a major portion of the roof and ceiling are removed together at the same time, you will not see a major change in the interior energies of a house. The same holds true for an ordinary small skylight, even though both the roof and ceiling have been cut open. If it is a small opening, and not of atrium size, then this would be a non-issue.

As well, now that people are adding solar panels to their roofs, people wonder if there will be any Feng Shui influence one way or the other and I do not think there is. In fact, when it comes to adding solar panels to a roof, it would be considered less of a “construction sha” situation than actually removing a roof, which is more of a disturbance to the area.

There are still some well known practitioners who say that you can change the flying star chart of a house by removing a couple of roof tiles. I would disagree. There was also one very famous author who said that if your roof tiles are blue in color that you will meet with some serious misfortune. To be blunt, I think this is not true at all. But everyone should know that the real goal in receiving Feng Shui advice is to empower a person with a larger skill set for controlling one’s own destiny, and not to scare the pants off of people. Very rarely will one real or perceived Feng Shui flaw cause a serious mishap or disaster in a person’s life. There would usually need to be an accumulation of many things off balance and for some time before the momentum could build into manifesting any event of significance.

Free AFP Viewers Download

The AFP format – short for Advanced Function Presentation (Printing) – was developed by IBM in 1984 for High speed, high volume, production digital printing, from mainframes. This print stream architecture is a “presentation” format, designed to be out put on a variety of devices. The initial implementation was to a laser printer on paper, thus it became known as a print data stream. As PC’s high quality graphic display became available, IBM developed PC software to out put the AFP data stream to PC display, and the AFP Viewer was born. The first program from IBM was quite costly, and only ran on OS/2, so viewing was limited. As other venders developed viewers and made free or demo copies available, the AFP viewer has become more popular. In this article you’ll find a short overview of free (and trial versions) AFP Viewers I’ve found and used.

There are two types of AFP Viewers the Stand-a-lone, a full program that has many features, and functions in similar ways to the controller in an AFP printer. The other is a plug-in viewer that “plugs-in to your browser, such as IE or Mozllia Firefox. This type has fewer features and acts as an interpreter of the AFP data.

There are a number of free AFP viewers; I have provided a list here and a Google of “AFP viewers”, will provide the current URLs for each.

Free (or Trial) AFP Viewers:

Ricoh / IBM – InfoPrint Solutions Company; AFP Viewer Plug-in, (Freeware) (browser plug-in)

Ricoh / IBM – InfoPrint Solutions Company; AFP Workbench for Windows Viewer, (Freeware)

BTB; AFPviewer, (free version, but put water-mark on viewed page)

Jesse Yeager; “AFPviewer”, (Freeware)

Compart; DocBridge Viewer, (1yr license free)

Barr Systems; BARR/AFP viewer, (30 day trial only)

ISI Papyrus; ISISAFPViewer, (Free) (browser plug-in),

MailProof; AFP Viewer / Proofer, (30 day trial only)

All of the AFP viewers take the AFP data stream in and interpret this data to pixels for display on your monitor. Normally this data is converted to the “dots” that would be printed by the printer on paper. Each viewer wile visually displays the information, will differ in the “view based on the way the “viewers” program was written. This differentiates the AFP viewers, as some display closer to the printed out put than others. And not all viewers can display all of the AFP objects, thus boxes or incorrect characters may be shown for the data that viewer can not interpret.

The plug-in viewer is dependent on the browser for many of its functions as is any browser plug-in. But these offer less overhead and only a browser “plug-in” installation. The stand-a-lone viewer requires a full Windows installation and takes up a certain amount of disk space. There is an exception with Jesse AFPviewer this is a single program, no DLL and no installation needed. This viewer is ideal for ruining from a thumb-drive and very portable.

The “free” trial viewers expire in 30 days, limiting their use, and with any trial they want you to purchase the full version, so this software borders on free. The other viewers are true “freeware” and work indefinitely. Exception here with the DocBridge viewer, you need to contact Compart and ask for a new 1 year free license (bit inconvenient).

I have found in using these free AFP viewers, no two of the viewers displays exactly the same page image. This is caused by how the author of the viewer program implemented the AFP architecture in their program. Thus processing the AFP data each in a slightly different way, but correct by the architecture specifications. This is also true of the AFP printers as each of the manufactures implement the AFP architecture with different programming algorithms. So you may want to use several of them to get a view of the data, as one viewer may show an object another viewer may not or in a slightly different way. And they are free so the cost is null.

Many of these viewers not only display AFP data but also will view PDF files, Tiff images, PCX format, and resource components of the AFP data stream. DocBridge Viewer offering the broadest selection of file formats that can be viewed. The IBM Workbench viewer and Jesse AFP Viewer view several file formats, PDF, Tiff and several other graphic formats. The other free AFP viewers do AFP format.

In conclusion, if you have a need to see an AFP file, downloading one or more of these free viewers, provides a valued tool in you work on AFP data. The only other way to “view” an AFP file is to print it and this many times in a production environment is costly and time consuming. The other option is to convert the AFP data to a desk top printer format; such as PostScript or PDF and in many cases the original data format is altered in the conversion process and the fonts may be changed. The best solution is to view the AFP data in its original file form with an AFP viewer.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Garden Furniture

There is some special charm in garden furniture. Garden furniture conjures up thoughts of a sunny day in a garden, having tea under an apple tree, resting in a rocking chair on a veranda and listening to grasshoppers’ chirping. A choice of furniture depends on a garden. If there are centuries-year old trees with mighty crowns furniture should be massive, solid. Furniture should be elegant if placed among flower beds. A lush green lawn needs tables and chairs contrasting with emerald grass. A choice of furniture comes from the fact that furniture should not violate natural character of nature itself and certainly should match an overall garden style. Your lifestyle is also important: if you need furniture for privacy, choose only small cozy tables and chairs, and if you enjoy organizing home parties, you will need more solid furniture.

Wooden tables and chairs look very naturally. Manufacturers are increasingly offering different models: from trendy to traditional, classic, made in different colors. There is a massive chair with wide armrests and comfortable high back. Examples are numerous. Manufacturers of high-class furniture use special methods of wood treatment with water-resistant protective compounds which make it more durable and resistant to weather conditions. This furniture will be resistant to the caprices of the weather for at least 10 years.

Plastic furniture is modern and is not sensitive to dampness. There exists a great diversity of furniture colors. In the gardens of classical style this furniture will not look unsophisticated. We can say that this is the most economical way to solve the problem of relaxation and comfort in the garden. Low price is not an advantage. Cheap plastic cannot stand the cold. In an intensive sunlight it can fade or soften to such a degree that the legs would go apart. In several years cheap plastic products get oxidized, and the edges get covered with brown patina, giving the product completely not presentable look. It is better to give preference to more expensive reinforced plastic which uses steel or aluminum for the frame. This provides the durability to the product.

Furniture made of lasting metal is unpretentious, hardy, and ideal for staying outside and easily stands rain and snow for many years. It is the case of decorative wrought-iron furniture. Iron furniture adds to garden’s prestige and beauty. Therefore, metal benches are often used as decorative elements of a garden’s design. There is only one drawback in metal furniture: it is not very comfortable to sit on, let alone lie down. That is why it is often combined with other materials – wood, plaiting materials.

Tables, chairs and other furniture include not only traditional types. There are deck chairs, couches, tents, children furniture, tables for work in a greenhouse, beach chairs, swings, rocking chairs, sofas, shelves, racks, sofa-chest, picnic tables on wheels, two-wheeled garden sofa, and swings with canopy-like roofs. Here is present the whole range of styles – from massive and severe to style of techno. Their diversity gives us the opportunity to spend our leisure placidly and easily, having fun and relaxing from the heart.

Good furniture allows you to indulge in comfort of country life. Skill to pick up and place furniture is crucially important, because it is a great art. If you want to avoid cliches, it is better to make use of professionals’ services. A landscape designer can help you solve all problems concerning functional and aesthetic aspect of the garden, taking into account your preferences and picking up furniture in same style.

Keeping Your Comfort Room Clean and Fragrant

The toilet seat is one of the most frequented seats at home. It is also the haven of millions of good and bad bacteria that can easily come in contact to our skin. With this in mind, we must keep it clean and free from bad odor. You need the right character in constantly keeping the room in good condition.

The following are some tips for a comfort room that rocks:

1. Cleaning the comfort room should be done everyday. Ideal cleaning time is early in the morning before anybody takes a shower.

2. You can keep it fragrant by putting an air freshener. Good house plants can do the trick for you if you don’t want to have commercial air fresheners. Put two or three house plants by the window and make sure you water them a little every afternoon.

3. Have a rack or case for your cleaning materials. Toilet cleaner liquids, toilet brush and soaps must have their own container. Put it beside the toilet bowl.

4. Your shampoos, bath soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, shaving cream and stuff must be located by the mirror. You can put them in a container too.

5. Have a pail and dipper by the faucet. Using a pail and dipper to store water for your bath helps in conserving your water. Letting the shower pour water carelessly while you take your bath consume more amount of water.

6. Put a plastic mat by the inside door of the comfort room and a dry rug by the outside. The mats will drain your wet slippers so that you won’t be walking around wetting the floor.

7. Have a container for your dry laundry. Have a hanging line for your wet laundry. When the clothes are dry already, you can put them along with the dry ones.
