Agoraphobia Is Not the Opposite of Claustrophobia

Agoraphobia isn’t the opposite of claustrophobia – but a lot of people think it is. In fact I used to think exactly that. I used to think exactly that even when I was suffering from agoraphobia. I was even offered the opportunity to join an agoraphobics group, but I said no because I wasn’t afraid of open spaces. I quite liked open spaces as long as no one else was anywhere near me. In fact if there was no other human being in sight, then that was OK as far as I was concerned. But that was all a very long time ago.

The translation of agoraphobia is ‘fear of the market place’, not, as many people think, fear of open spaces. The essence of the market place is people and human interaction. This is what is fearful. Places that agoraphobes typically avoid, or have problems with, are supermarkets, theatres, cinemas, crowds, parties. Places where a rapid exit might be difficult.

The fear is usually of showing oneself up in some way in the eyes of others. Typically agoraphobes worry about things like: vomiting (usually as a result of severe anxiety); fainting; having a panic attack; or suffering from a genuine health emergency like a heart attack. The concern is usually one of embarrassment – perhaps fainting and finding oneself on a supermarket floor gazing up into a circle of concerned faces who will insist on making a fuss and calling an ambulance.

Many agoraphobes manage to get by with a trusted helper who accompanies them when they need to go shopping or out socialising. This person is there to rescue them and take them home should anything bad, like a panic attack occur. But when that helper is not available life is very restricted.

If medical help is obtained the most likely result is medication with tranquillisers and anti-depressants. Neither of which actually solve the problem, they just enable a minimum level of functionality. The problem remains, like a monster in the wardrobe, waiting to show its scary face as soon as you turn off the lights,  or look the other way. So you are trapped. The medication keeps the monster locked in the wardrobe, but doesn’t get rid of it. Stop the medication and the monster is free once more.

Life as an agoraphobe is no fun at all.

So if you are agoraphobic and reading this I want to reassure you about a few things:

  • This is not a disease, but you can ‘heal’ it.
  • There is nothing physically wrong with you.
  • Your brain is as normal as anyone else’s.
  • The cause is the way you think.
  • The cure is changing the way you think.

Changing the way you think is not easy, but it is a lot easier than living the isolated, fearful, life of an agoraphobe.

When you think about the totality of the change you need to make, it seems an insurmountable task.

When you think about the single next step you need to take – it becomes not only possible, but relatively easy.

The first steps are the most difficult. Every step after those first few become easier. They become easier because you have the memory of success and knowledge that what you are doing is already making a positive difference to your life.

The 8 Types of Multiple Intelligences and Its Principles

Multi intelligence states that intelligence is the original biological potential of human-specific capabilities. This potential varies with experience, culture and the motive to understand the different ways.

According to psychological study, man has an innate intelligence operation to perform certain specific pre-orientation. Some children, adolescents, are extremely sensitive to sound or pairs of words or numbers.

In some stimulation, some have much faster response time, and the reaction time for these stimuli was very bright and cheerful. Normally individuals have strong potential in some areas.

Educators must understand the students (strengths, areas of strengths, weaknesses, vulnerable areas, etc.) as well as its adaptability, and to educate students on this basis.

Gardner believes that a person’s intelligence would certainly bring about a set of problem-solving skills, which allows the individual to solve his own problems or difficulties. To solve different problems there is a need to have a different focus on different intelligence, so a person’s intelligence is diverse. Intelligent is different, each person has the potential to be able to develop in different areas, in other words, we should select a person suitable development path.

Gardner believes that intelligence is a personal ideal and the product of the interaction between social needs. Any individuals may develop their own capacity, but if this ability of the development with the world is cut off, then this capability will absolutely not be developed.

Theory of Multiple Intelligences believes that everyone has a relatively independent of the eight kinds of intelligence, they are different in each person and at various levels.

The eight types of intelligence in Multiple Intelligences:

Multiple Intelligences were divided into eight types: intelligence languages, mathematics, logic, intelligence, visual-spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, musical melody intelligence, interpersonal intelligence and self-recognition intelligence.

1) Language Intelligence (Verbal / Linguistic intelligence)

Refers to the effective use of spoken language or written language ability. These students tend to be good in grammar, phonology, language, combined with practical learning and the ability to use them smoothly. Strong language intelligent students like playing with words, enjoy reading, discussion and writing. They use language and words to think while study. They learn best through debating, writing, reading, research, speaking reciting and word game.

2) Mathematical Logic Smart (Logical / Mathematical intelligence)

Refers to the efficient use of numbers and reasoning ability. These students are good in logic and relationships, statements and advocates, functions and other related abstractions sensitivity. They are particularly fond of in school mathematics or science class curriculum; like to ask questions and perform experiments to find the answer (if I every day of my bonsai twice poured water over what will happen?); Like to find things with rules and logic of sequence. They also like volume, classification, and analysis of things. This type of children rely on reasoning or exploring when learning. They learn best through computing, calculating, graphing, comparing and classifying.

3) Spatial intelligence (Visual / Spatial intelligence)

Refers to the precise sense of visual space, and to the perceived demonstrated ability. These students are good with color, line, shape, form, space and the are sensitive of the relationship between them, they also have the ability to quickly find the direction. Wizard, hunting, like to play puzzles, visual games like Maze and like to imagine. They think in image and diagrams. They learn best through painting, drawing, watching movies, illustrating, mapping and visualizing.

4) Limb movements Smart (Bodily / Kinesthetic intelligence)

They are good at using the whole body to express thoughts and feelings. This smart has special physical skills, such as balance, coordination, agility, strength, flexibility and speed, as well as tactile ability. The difficulty of this type is to sit still; they like to help to build things, such as sewing, compiled weaving, carving, or wood, or skip along, touching objects in the environment. They like outdoor activities, and people talk about words, gestures or other commonly used body language, like the thrill of recreational activities and regularly engage in sports. This A class of children learn through bodily sensations. They learn best through hands-on experience, drama, dance, role-play and performing.

5) Music Smart (Musical / Rhythmic intelligence)

Refers to the detection, identification, change and the ability to express music. This smart includes rhythm, pitch, melody or sound sensitivity. They usually have a good singing voice, tone can easily identify whether the rhythm right. They are very sensitive, and often able to work and listen to (or singing) music, they will play musical instruments and may be able to remember a new song easily. This type of children thinks through the rhythm of melody in their studies. They learn best through composing, singing, and making up song lyrics, improvising and writing jingles.

6) Interpersonal intelligence (Inter-personal intelligence)

They are aware of and able to differentiate between other people’s emotions, intentions, motivation and sensory capabilities. This includes facial expressions, voice and the sensitivity of movement, to identify the different relationships to those of the allusions and the ability to suggest appropriate responses.

Strong interpersonal intelligence usually prefer the participating organizations on the nature of sports or games such as basketball, bridge; while more may not like the personal nature of sports and games, such as running, playing video games. When they encounter problems, they are more are willing to ask others to lend a hand; like to teach people how to do something. They feel very comfortable in a crowd, are usually groups leaders. Children in this category rely on the feedback when studying and working. They learn best through negotiation, group work, team activity, debating, sharing and role-play.

7) Intrapersonal (Intra-personal intelligence)

Refers to self-knowledge, and make the appropriate capacity to act accordingly. These students normally are aware of their inner emotions, intentions, motivations, temperament, and desire, as well as the ability to self-discipline self-knowledge and self-esteem. Intelligent and strong self-awareness are usually able to maintain a diary or a bedtime habit of self-examination: understand their strengths and weaknesses; often retreat to plan their own life goals. Children in this category learn best through in-depth self-reflection, writing journals, research, and rehearsing and self-paced activities. To them, an ideal learning environment maybe for them to be alone.

8) Naturalist intelligence (Naturalist intelligence)

They are good at observing nature, identify the capacity of natural phenomena, but also able to inter-relate and to judge. They learn best through observation, comparing, classifying, discovering and hands on experience.

Classification of Computers

Computers are available in different shapes, sizes and weights, due to these different shapes and sizes they perform different sorts of jobs from one another.

They can also be classified in different ways. All the computers are designed by the qualified computer architectures that design these machines as their requirements.

A computer that is used in a home differs in size and shape from the computer being used in a hospital. Computers act as a server in large buildings, while the computer also differs in size and shape performing its job as a weather forecaster.

A student carrying a laptop with him to his college is different in shape and size from all the computers mentioned above.

Here we are going to introduce different classifications of computers one by one. We will discuss what are in classifications and what job they perform.

Super computer

The biggest in size, the most expensive in price than any other is classified and known as super computer. It can process trillions of instructions in seconds. This computer is not used as a PC in a home neither by a student in a college.

Governments specially use this type of computer for their different calculations and heavy jobs. Different industries also use this huge computer for designing their products.

In most of the Hollywood’s movies it is used for animation purposes. This kind of computer is also helpful for forecasting weather reports worldwide.

Mainframes

Another giant in computers after the super computer is Mainframe, which can also process millions of instruction per second and capable of accessing billions of data.

This computer is commonly used in big hospitals, air line reservations companies, and many other huge companies prefer mainframe because of its capability of retrieving data on a huge basis.

This is normally to expensive and out of reach from a salary-based person who wants a computer for his home.

This kind of computer can cost up to thousands of dollars.

Minicomputer

This computer is next in he line but less offers less than mainframe in work and performance. These are the computers, which are mostly preferred by the small type of business personals, colleges, etc.

Personal computers

Almost all the computer users are familiar with the personal computers. They normally know what the personal computer is and what are its functions.

This is the computer mostly preferred by the home users. These computers are lesser in cost than the computers given above and also, small in size; they are also called PCs in short for Personal computers.

This computer is small in size and you can easily arrange it to fit in your single bedroom with its all accommodation. Today this is thought to be the most popular computer in all.

Notebook computers

Having a small size and low weight the notebook is easy to carry to anywhere. A student can take it with him/her to his/her school in his/her bag with his/her book.

This is easy to carry around and preferred by students and business people to meet their assignments and other necessary tasks.

The approach of this computer is also the same as the Personal computer. It can store the same amount of data and having a memory of the same size as that of a personal computer. One can say that it is the replacement of personal desktop computer.

Preparing for Times of Disaster

Whether you live in the western united states and have suffered fires and drought, or the eastern coast and endured hurricanes and flooding, chances are you may experience one or more natural disasters in your lifetime. Being prepared won’t take away the trial, but it will help you to recover as well as sustain you until damage can be restored again. There are three basic ways you can prepare for a disaster.

1. SECURE YOUR HOME. You may not necessarily notice the heavy vases stored above the kitchen cabinets, bookshelves packed with books in the den, or the glass mirror in the hallway as being potential hazards in your home, but during flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, or earthquakes, these items could cause injury. Securing heavy furniture to the walls could prevent them from tipping over onto someone. Strapping your water heater to the foundation of the house will keep it from falling and the pipes from breaking. If the water heater is damaged, gas could leak and valuable water could empty out. You can take inventory of every room in your home to see how to storm-proof and keep your family safe. Remove heavy items from upper shelves and place them on lower shelves. Install latches on cabinets containing glassware, and secure pictures, mirrors, and other wall hangings with earthquake-proof hooks. Keep shoes or slippers near your bed. If a disaster were to occur during the night, you may need to access them immediately to protect your feet from possible broken glass or sharp metal. Also, keep a flashlight in an accessible place in every room to utilize as a light source.

2. STORE FOOD, WATER, AND EMERGENCY SUPPLIES. If a disaster happens, it is likely that grocery stores will be out of commission for a while. You may have to rely, for a time, on the food you have within your home. Store the food your family likes and keep a few extra treats on hand to help bring comfort during a time of chaos or uncertainty. Store water in case your water supply becomes contaminated. Store enough for drinking as well as hygiene and cooking needs. Additionally, have first-aid supplies on hand as well as flashlights and batteries, extra blankets, cash, extra toiletries and feminine supplies, a manual can-opener, and any other basic needs you may have as you shelter-in-place. It would be a good idea to have a wrench to turn off any utilities such as power and gas.

3. HAVE A FAMILY PLAN. Whether you draw up a fire escape plan, or write out a strategy for evacuating, create a family plan for any type of disasters. Review with your family the possible scenarios in each case of an emergency. Establish well-thought-out solutions that will keep your family safe and help each other to make contact with one another in case you are ever to be separated. Have a meeting place to go, or a main contact person, such as grandparents or out-of-state family members to connect with to report your individual status. Remember to keep the pets in mind, and talk about your family plan often with family members. Above all, believe that if you and your family are prepared, it will make difficult times become more endurable.

How to Make Money Fast by Retrieving and Returning Shopping Carts

Are you looking for a way to make money fast? If you have a large utility vehicle, like a pick-up truck, you can retrieve and return shopping carts for a cash reward.

Most every mid to large retail grocery, variety and department store has a stock of shopping carts on hand. They are purchased by the store, of course, so that customers can use them when shopping in their store.

Shopping buggies are expensive. The average cost to the retailer for just one is between 75 and 100 dollars. Large ones like the kind you find at wholesale and club stores can run upwards of 200 dollars or more.

Most retail stores have dozens of them; busy big-box stores may even have hundreds of them. Purchasing enough of them to meet a store’s demand and traffic levels requires a significant expenditure of cash.

It is, therefore, in the best interest of the retailer to protect that investment. Most retailers do their best to make sure that carts remain on store property. However, shopping buggy theft is all too common. The average store loses about $8,000 $10,000 to per year to this problem.

Because they are so expensive to buy, many store owners and retail companies pay cash rewards for the return of their carts which have been stolen (or “borrowed”) and not returned. Cash rewards typically range from 25 to 50 dollars per cart.

Here’s how you can retrieve and return those buggies for cash: contact retailers in your area which have shopping carts. Find out if they pay for returned carts. Many do, but won’t give cash rewards to just anyone. (Store owners don’t want the public to abuse the reward system by stealing carts themselves in order to get the reward.) Usually you have to sign a cash-for-retrieval contract.

You’ll have to provide some forms of identification, usually a driver’s license plus one other item (like a Social Security or credit card). You may have to sign a waiver absolving the store of liability in the event of something unforeseen.

You can make arrangements with any or all of the retailers in your area. The more contracts you have, the more money you can make.

If you’ve lived in your city for any length of time, you’ve probably seen common dump sites for stolen shopping buggies. Visit these areas regularly. Additionally, get in the habit of keeping your eyes open every time you’re out and about town. You’ll probably spot discarded shopping carts regularly. You can pick these up and return them as you come across them, or store them at home until you have several of them.

Cunninlingus For Beginners – 3 Steps to Make Her Squeal With Delight!

One of the hardest things to do as a guy, is to go down on a girl and provide amazing cunnilingus. In all honesty, it does take some practice and some learning on the different techniques that work amazingly well. But there are definitely some things you can do as a beginner to make her squeal in absolute delight. Let’s get started:

1. Warm her up. Don’t dive right in, but rather warm things up by kissing, touching and licking. Slowly make your move downtown. Once you are there you want to continue to warm things up, by kissing and licking the thighs and the vagina area. Once you hear that she’s getting excited, then you can zero in on the clitoris and go to work.

2. Go gentle with a FLAT tongue. You can experiment later with a firmer, more pointed tongue, but for beginners it’s best to use a flat tongue to start with. Girls can be very sensitive and many have stated a firm, pointed tongue can be too harsh. Go gentle and feel her out. If she’s sensitive then take it easy and maneuver slowly.

3. Use this Technique. For a good starter technique, simply focus on tongue circles. Just go round and round with your tongue as if you are making circles. This is a basic, but effective technique. Beyond your circle action you can vary the speed, you can go from small circles to occasional larger circles and then back to small, and you can do spiral circles where you start small and gradually go larger, then reverse it. There are many variations you can perform, just pay attention and see how well she responds to the particular circle technique you are performing.

Isolateral Exercise – What is it and Why is it Beneficial? The Answer is Here!

Isolateral exercise is a technique that is used in strength and fitness training to work one particular side of the body at a time rather than trying to train both sides at once. For instance, if you are used to doing traditional push-ups then a more isolateral based movement would be to execute a one-arm push-up. This a great way to maximize the strength on that one side of the body.

So why do people do isolateral-based movements? Well to start, when considering developing a highly effective strength and conditioning program one must include isolateral based movements in their program to optimally develop symmetry and equal total-body strength. There are basically 2 benefits to executing this type of movement. The first is that you allow the working side of the body to lift the weight or resistance on its own without any assistance or compensation from the other side. This allows for a greater increase in strength independently on each side of the body.

The second benefit includes a transfer of strength, or cross transfer, from the working side of the body over to the side that isn’t executing the lift at that particular time. This is why it is still beneficial to train the body, if possible, even during an injury. Your body can still benefit from exercise even if you aren’t training a particular body-part. An example here would be that if a person broke their right arm and that arm is in a sling, then it can’t perform any tasks. However, the left arm can. Doing something as common as arm curls with the left arm can cross transfer strength over to the injured right arm.

So now you know what isolateral exercise is and how it works. You are beginning to learn the secrets of strength and exercise!

In general, the Brazil Butt Lift program is comprised of cardio, Brazilian dance and Leandro's very own "lower-body sculpting" moves. One particular segment that involves a hint of Brazilian style is the Cardio Ax workout. The moves from this segment are basically taken from samba and capoeira, and both have beats that are truly danceable. The program also uses some special workout stuffs for toning the lower part of the body. For example, the High & Tight segment uses a booty resistance band and ankle weights to target the area around the rear. The good news is that the DVD set also includes a bonus "express version" of Bum Bum cardio segment. This is especially useful for those who do not have sufficient time to spare. For as little as 10 minutes, you can do some butt-lifting moves that are guaranteed to give you the same result.

Among the other bonuses included in the Brazil Butt Lift is the 6-Day Supermodel SlimDown Plan. This slimming down plan allows an individual to obtain a supermodel butt in just a few days. This guide was initially devised for the supermodels tended by Leandro.

How to Make a Girl Come Quickly and Effortlessly

Imagine a sex life where regardless of how long it went for, or how hard you wanted to, you never reached orgasm.

It’d be pretty frustrating, right?

Sadly, that’s what about 70% of women go through every single day.

Many men are waking up to the fact that their partner isn’t getting the sexual satisfaction she craves, and to their credit, are seeking out a solution to the problem. However, many of you reading this article are probably still unsure of how to give a girl multiple, mind-blowing orgasms that she know she desperately needs.

That’s where I come in. In this article, I’m going to show you exactly how you can make your girl come quickly, easily, and effortlessly, using a simple, idiot-proof three-step formula.

Step 1: Build Sexual Tension

With all that goes on in our lives these days, it’s easy for us to lose touch with our inherent sexuality. For guys, this usually isn’t a big problem – we’re so highly sexually charged to begin with, that it doesn’t exactly take a lot for it to awaken.

Women, on the other hand, are a whole different story.

As opposed to men, who are generally more sexually charged the longer it’s been since they’ve had sex, women work the opposite way. That is to say, they are at their horniest when they are having regular orgasms.

In order to make a woman orgasm quickly and effortlessly, we have to re-awaken her sexuality. We do this first mentally, then physically. The mental component is called sexual tension.

Building sexual tension, whilst easy when you know how, is a whole subject in and of itself. For the purposes of this article, just understand that it involves getting a girl’s mind to be receptive to any sexual advances you make. Ways to do this may include light touching, a certain look, saying certain things, flirting, and much more.

Once you have built a decent amount of sexual tension, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Foreplay

Being able to perform powerful, arousing foreplay is one of the best skills a man can have in the bedroom.

If sexual tension is the key to awakening a woman’s mental sexuality, foreplay is the key to re-aquainting her body with her sexual side. Again, there really isn’t enough room in this article to be able to reveal the secrets to amazing foreplay, but essentially it revolves around “firing up” her nerves and putting her body in a highly sexually charged state.

Step 3: Direct Sexual Stimulation

If you have built sexual tension correctly, and have given your girl amazing foreplay, she’s 90% of the way to having amazing, powerful orgasms already.

Having said that, obviously the actual physical stimulation is still extremely vital in making her come.

Again, unfortunately, there just isn’t room in this article to give a thorough and in-depth explanation of how to use the clitoris, G-spot, and vaginal nerve endings in order to satisfy a woman’s sexual cravings. We don’t have the space to get into a discussion of primary and secondary stimulation, or the multitude of “hot spots” that are part of the female body, or how to use mental stimulation in tandem with physical stimulation in order to give her powerful, mind-blowing orgasms.

What you have just read is the basic skeletal outline of everything you need to know in order to make a girl come quickly and effortlessly. If you apply this roadmap, there is no doubt in my mind that your girl will have the most powerful orgasms of her life.

Do You Know Where To Find Collectible Books?

When someone decides to start collecting a book series, the first thing that comes to mind is comparative shopping. People spend quite a bit of time combing through bookstores, eBay listings, auction houses or online advertiser Craigslist trying to find hidden treasures at the best possible prices. As someone who has dealt with rare books for quite a while, this is what I concluded when searching through all these sources:

Firstly, finding first or even early editions of rare books in bookstores are small, especially if you’re only looking in one city. Even when I have visited bookstores outside of my geographic region, I have had very limited success in finding anything valuable.

I have had better luck finding books using books search engine Abebooks.com, which draws from a much larger database of bookstores. Even there, I can usually only get one photo of a particular book (which happens only if the seller has the capability to send either a scanned or digital image of the book). Talking to a seller on the phone is always useful, because then one can learn more about the books condition regarding its spine, hinges, coloring, tears, edition, color plates, dust jacket, etc.

If, however, you decide to try the bookstore route, you will be surprised at the difference in book pricing. Almost identical books can be listed for anywhere from $100 to $2000. The next question you should ask yourself is, “why there is such a big difference in price?” The only way to answer that question is by doing due diligence, such as sending an e-mail to the bookstore asking for more information, asking follow-up-questions, requesting pictures of the book, etc.

Finding collectible books through auction houses is also very tricky. Unless you know for certain that the auction house will be selling books that you are interested in, I would not recommend visiting them with just the hope of finding collectible titles. Also understand that, as a buyer, you will end up paying a certain premium if you win the books at an auction. If you are bidding using eBay, you should expect additional eBay fees on top of the fees imposed by auction houses.

Using Craigslist is another option, but you are limited to searches in your area, which means it might take a long time before you will find a listing for a series that you are looking for. If you are not in a hurry, the biggest advantage of this source is that you will be able to physically inspect the book before committing to buying it.

eBay is a place where you can find many rare books. However, many of them are advertised as first editions because many inexperienced sellers believe that they are, in fact, in possession of true first editions. Unfortunately, in many situations, this is not the case. There is a good chance, however, that you will be able to buy true collectible books on eBay, you just won’t most likely be getting a bargain. That is because experienced dealers will often try to win the antique, valuable books from under you at any cost.

One more word of caution regarding eBay: it is not the right place for a novice collector. Often, sellers do not provide pictures or indicate the true condition of the book. Or, sometimes-unscrupulous sellers send the books that are different from those they advertised (it happened to me as a buyer), or the color plates in the book are facsimiles (again, I speak from personal experience). Bottom line: BEWARE of buying collectible books on eBay if you are new to this business. In the last several years I sold over 1000 books from the same series, and still sometimes get deceived by dishonest sellers.

The satisfaction of finding a true collectible book at a good price is a great feeling. However, it is not easy. Rather than spending more money that you should on a book that simply is not a collectible item, it may be worth your while to contact an experienced and honest dealer who will help you find what you are looking for. In the end, both of you will be happy with the result!

The One Recipe You Should Never Make With Your KitchenAid Mixer

A few weeks ago I was researching the KitchenAid stand mixer and I came across a blog post by someone that I thought was not the best advice. The blog post was all about making pancakes with your mixer (or any stand mixer really). Now the recipe was probably pretty good but the process is what was flawed in my opinion.

For me pancakes are all about being soft and light and fluffy. They should not be dense or chewy or gummy in any way. If I wanted that, I could make a trip to one of those all night breakfast joints and get a stack of hockey puck flap jacks.

No, for me pancakes need to be handled with care and attention. The reason is gluten. Now for a bit of food science. Gluten is a protein, actually it is a composition of 2 proteins named gliadin and glutenin. When water is added to wheat flour and then mechanically mixed, gluten forms. And it is this wonderful gluten that gives bread dough and pasta their chewy and elastic characteristics. But since the gluten content is increased by mechanical mixing or kneading, it is not something we ever want to do if we desire to have light and fluffy pancakes.

So, the next time you want to enjoy some pan fried goodness for breakfast, leave your mixer tucked neatly away. Instead, follow this basic cooking process.

You can use any basic pancake recipe that you like. The key to a great result is in the mixing. What you want to do is mix all the dry ingredients first in a bowl that is large enough for your batter. Next, mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

Now, before you add the wet to the dry, get prepared. An electric griddle is probably the best appliance for cooking pancakes at home but if you have to use a frying pan, that will also work. There are 2 differences. An electric griddle has a built-in thermostat which means the heat will remain more constant than with a pan on the stove. Second, the griddle means you can cook a lot more pancakes at the same time. I use a pan on the stove myself but I never cook more than one pancake at a time and I keep them warm in the oven till ready to serve. It’s not the best but I have no more room to store a griddle so I chose not to buy one. Using my stove, I heat the pan for 2 minutes at level 5. Then I turn down the heat to 4 when cooking. If I notice that things are taking too long, I increase the heat for about another minute and then lower to 4 again.

Now that you have a hot cooking appliance ready, it is time to mix the batter. You want to achieve the mixing as fast as possible without activating too much gluten. So, take the wet ingredients and literally dump them into the dry. Then take a spatula and fold in the wet ingredients for 10 to 15 seconds. That is it. Some of the dry may not be perfectly mixed but that is all right. I have never had a lumpy pancake using this method.

Next, place some batter on the griddle or in the frying pan and wait. You want to see the bubbles forming all around the outside of the pancake. That is the sign of a flapjack that is ready to be flipped. If the heat is high enough the bottom will be nice and brown. If it is too low it will be pale in color and conversely if it is too hot the bottom will be very dark. So as gently as possible flip the flapjack and continue cooking the opposite side. Normally the second side will cook in half the time as the first.

When serving the pancake always have real maple syrup on hand. It can make all the difference in the world and the taste is like no other. Since you put all this care and attention into making the best pancakes you could, you deserve to have them sweetened perfectly with a little maple syrup.

There you have it. Next time you get a craving for some flapjacks, keep the KitchenAid mixer covered and instead use the dump and fold method for the lightest and fluffiest pancakes you can make at home.

Plastic Surgeons – How to Find One With the Right Qualifications

When you decide to have a cosmetic procedure, you research it do not you? But, what do you know about the person performing the procedure? Sure, you checked to see if he was board certified, but have you thought about how he got there? The truth is that his path was long and arduous and he never really stops traveling. Here is the typical journey of a plastic surgeon:

Obviously, he has to go to college. He studies pre-med as an undergraduate. After four years, he successfully obtains a Bachelor's Degree in one of the common pre-med major like biology or chemistry. Then, he has to apply to medical school. The one he goes to must be accredited or all of his work will have been for naught. For the next four years, he studies general medicine.

After eight years of school, he's still not finished. For the next five or six years, he continues his training as a resident in an actual hospital or medical facility. For the last couple of years of his training, he concentrates on the intricacies of plastic surgery. Once he completes his residency, he can apply to the American Board of Plastic Surgery for his certification. To achieve this, he must pass the Board's rigorous practical and written exams.

After officially becoming a plastic surgeon, he can choose to specialize even further. Whether he specializes or not, the ABPS requires that he continues his education and holds up on the most recent advances in order to renew his certification. Once he has achieved this step, membership in a prestigious organization like the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Members like this further his education, research and networking with other doctors.

So, as you can see, it took your surgeon a long time to get where he is today. But, that he makes this journey is very important. Just because a physician is a surgeon, it does not mean that he can be a plastic surgeon. When you are looking for one, make sure he has these credentials. Diplomas from his accredited schools as well as his ABPS board certification should be displayed in his office. If you do not see them, ask him or if you do not feel comfortable doing that, research on-line for his credentials.

While your plastic surgeon may have all the credentials and training and he may even be a specialist in your procedure, it still does not make him a great surgeon for you. Do you feel comfortable talking to him about whatever it is you do not like about yourself? Seeking out cosmetic surgery can be embarrassing and is often a sensitive subject. A good plastic surgeon knows this and will be able to set your mind at ease with a gentle and informative manner.

Some things can not be taught in school and a good bed-side manner is one of them. Because the issue is that you want to make a fundamental change to your appearance, you want to carefully choose the plastic surgeon that's going to be making the incisions.
