Tips For Painting And Decorating Your Restaurant’s Kitchen

Styling the kitchen of your restaurant is vital because this is where production begins and ends. In fact, restaurant painting and decorating should start where the cooking is: at the kitchen. The design of the kitchen includes a bunch of other decorating stages, including choosing the paint colour, deciding the layout, and selecting the kitchen appliances. Effective kitchen design results in greater efficiency of kitchen staff, which translates to higher productivity and better quality.

Consider an overall design or theme. Kitchen design normally follows a basic pattern, which is then made extraordinary by the bits of detailing and styling. Communicate specific requirements with your painting contractors so that the outcome turns out exactly what you want and need for your restaurant. Work out the details from a basic design – the very foundation of the way you decorate your restaurant kitchen. The basic design likewise commands the other aspects or areas of your establishment, including the dining area, counter section, and restrooms.

When it comes to general design or theme, you actually have a long list of options. One of the common choice themes is white, which makes the restaurant looking tidy and spacious. If you want to evoke a classic, country appeal, go for browns and greens, or match white with blue. Professional decorators can offer suggestions on how best to decorate your kitchen. If you want a really impressive kitchen, go for the showy shades of red, yellow, orange or pink. For themes, you may want a Tuscan kitchen, a traditional Irish diner, or retro theme.

Painting and decorating the kitchen should be done with consideration for safety. Some paint gets damaged quickly when exposed to fire, heat, oil and water – which are common elements in the cooking area. Not all surfaces are best coated with paint; some are best covered in granite tile or marble tile, which are easier to clean and resist food spill damage. Some sections of the walls need backsplash that keeps walls dry and attractive regardless of the activities in the kitchen. However, synchronise the colour of your tiles, decors, furniture, equipment and paint to come up with a unified look.

Kitchen safety is enhanced with proper lighting and proper layout. Space and lighting are maximised or improved with your choice of paint colour. Dark colours can make your kitchen cramped and narrow while bright colours make it spacious and well-lit. Then too, colour helps create an ambiance for your restaurant that encourages appetite. It’s been found that the red, oranges and yellow makes an area cheerful and pleasant for cooking and dining. Painting and decorating your restaurant kitchen must be well-thought-out to make the area as efficient and attractive as you want it to be.

Learn to Sail With Magic Shroud Telltales

If you are anything like me, you are always on the lookout for sailing tips that make sailing easier with less effort. When you first learn to sail, it can be tough to “see the wind”. You can feel the wind on your cheek or the back of your neck. But how can you see it? Check out these three simple, non-electronic type wind indicators that are available for sailors:

Types of Apparent Wind Indicators

Sail Luff Telltales

Your Genoa or mainsail may carry telltales–small strips of yarn or ribbon–attached the luff (in the case of a headsail) or the leech (on a mainsail). These telltales show the flow of apparent wind across the sail. But sail telltales can be tough to see. You have to bend down, crane your neck to see the luff of your Genoa. And when you sail short-handed or by yourself, that can be a lot of work. Plus the fact that luff telltales just show the apparent wind flow across one sail.

Masthead Fly

If you have a wind “fly” at the masthead, this miniature wind-vane shows how the wind flows across the boat. It’s just about the perfect apparent wind indicator because it’s not obstructed or blocked by another sail, mast, rigging, or blocked by land nearby. But masthead flys can be tough to see way up at the top of your mast.

Shroud Telltales

Shroud telltales are an easier alternative to the masthead fly and still give you a great picture of how the apparent wind flows across your boat. They’re easier to use than luff telltales for shorthanded sailors because you don’t need to bend down and strain to see the luff of your Genoa or headsail. Best of all, they are cheap, easy to make, and super simple to use. Follow these three easy steps to make and mount your shroud telltales in just a few minutes:

1. Find the Right Material for Shroud Telltales

Go down to your local fabric and sewing store. Find the aisle that sells yarn. Buy a roll of Angora wool yarn. Dark colors are good for daytime sailing, while brighter colors stand out better at night. Angora wool makes the best telltale because it’s light and shows direction even in those super light morning zephyrs.

2. Make and Attach Your Shroud Telltales

Cut off two 6″ to 9″ strips of wool. Attach the yarn to the upper shroud on each side, as high off the deck as possible. You want the yarn in clear air so that it’s not blocked by your cabin roof, Bimini top, or spray dodger.

3. Match Your Telltale to the Point of Sail

Use a “sail and study” method to learn to read the shroud telltale. Sail onto each point of sail, get the boat steady, and watch the telltale. Observe how it points. After a few times of doing this, you will be able to recognize just how the telltale should look when beating, reaching, or running.

How to Use Your Shroud Telltales

Concentrate on three specific points of sail: beating (close hauled), beam reaching, and running. On each point of sail, observe the angle that your shroud telltales make. This takes a bit of practice and patience.

For beating, find that “razor’s edge” between luffing and sailing. Glance at the windward side shroud telltale. Note how it makes a slight angle off the bow. Hold your course and concentrate on that angle. Fall off a bit and note how your windward shroud telltale changes its angle. Head up back to a beat (close hauled course). Again, note the shroud telltale angle. Repeat this several times until this shroud telltale angle becomes second nature to you.

Follow this same sequence with a beam reach and running course. As you can see, shroud telltales will force you to first find the point of sail and then assist you to hold that point of sail. This will make you less reliant on luff telltales and take less effort because they will always be visible while you steer from your tiller or wheel.

Use these three fast, easy steps on your journey to learn to sail better than ever before. You will increase your speed, power, and performance on any point of sail–wherever in the world you choose to sail!

Day Trading – 99% Fail – Find Out Why

I have been day trading now for 10 years. I blew up 2 accounts – one $30,000 and another $37,000. I was in the 99% group that never make it day trading. Thing is I am relatively smart, college education man with a 140 IQ, and yet I still blew up two accounts.

I wrote this article for any one interested in day trading to help make a decision. They will either learn to be part of the 1% winners that will be able to day-trade (from anywhere in the world) or be one of the 99% that will fail and blow up their accounts. So if your serious about trying to day trade read on.

Now truth be told I went into day trading for a few years with no education. I soon realized after blowing a few thousand on penny stocks that there really was no riches to be found there.

Then off to the internet to get the wisdom of the collective. That is a dead end and their information is defective. In fact Day trading is a Trillion dollar a year business, do you think anybody on the internet is going to give you day trading advise that is correct? Almost every thing on the internet that you read about day trading, or trading stocks at all is false, and designed to help remove your money from your wallet.

How about books? Yes there it is! I will read some books and be able to trade stock like Jim Cramer… (BTW read all of his stock trading books) thing is Jim Cramer is a television entertaining clown and would probably not be on television if he is really was what he says he is, Harvard education and all.

Really put this to the test, watch his show, then watch what happens to the stocks he mentions. Not even right on 50%. All he will help you do is lose money faster then your popsicle melting on a 95 degree day.

I even took some private classes and paid a handsome fee to be told how to trade. One that comes to mind is Wall Street Basics run by Gary Williams. Not that the classes were half bad but they were not what one needs to learn day trading. They took me down a road of continued education. But I still lost my day trading accounts, as will you if you dont follow my instructions here.

So whats the answer i asked my self staring out the window of my caretaker home overlooking the Caribbean Sea (a job I took to make enough money to open another trading account)?

Truth Is I needed a mentor, that’s when the rubber hit the road and my brain started smoking. How in the world would I pick someone? Someone who already was in the trenches and trading every day, and why in the world would they mentor me? There it is, that’s what came to my mind…

Here are the biggest problems that day traders will face.

  1. Under Capitalization – In my opinion the biggest one. Capital is your lifeblood. If you don’t start with at least $30,000 you better start by saving your money. In fact the FTC wont allow you do day trade right now without at least $25,000 in an account
  2. Emotions – That’s right everything changes when you have money on the line. Especially if you need the money to live on. My advice? Save enough so that you will not need the money you are trading with. Trading with needed money will DEFINITELY be a strong negative
  3. Under educated. I don’t care how smart you are. YOU NEED A PLAN. If you fail to trade with a plan then you are planning to fail. No if, and or buts about it.
  4. Expecting to hit a home run every time. No really this is a job, a well paying job, but its a job. EX I make around average $250 per day. Some days I do hit a home run. Most days, its a single. My best day so far? $1200. My worst day? -$5000 GRRR.
  5. To get a plan you need a mentor, one that’s not really into teaching for the money. That’s why you’re here – I am going to share my guru with you. Take it or leave it he is the best on the planet at what he does, and he is willing to share with only a few per year. Why am I sharing? Really there is plenty to go around, the stock market is abundant with wealth, a small hand full of people learning to day-trade will have no effect what so ever on the markets.

Now having day-traded for at least 4 months or so I could tell the phonies from the ponies. There are a bunch of guys out there that are pretenders. They look at a screen and tell you when to buy and when to sell. Its like the old adage ” If you want to feed a man for a day you give him a fish, if you want to feed him for a life time you teach him how to fish”

I have added a link in the resource box that is a direct link to the only day trading source that I trust or would use on the internet.

It took me two years to find Mark, don’t make the same mistakes that I made. Mark gives away a free day trading guide that is second to none

How to Make Someone Fall Back in Love With You – (The Right and the Wrong Ways)

If you’ve found this article, I have to assume that you’ve recently experienced a break up of some kind – whether it is a divorce, separation, or time apart. Obviously, I can’t know your specific situation but I do know some universal tips that work very well to encourage someone to fall back in love with you (while thinking it’s their own idea all along.) Keep in mind that how well these methods and tactics will work will depend greatly upon how convincing you are when you play them and the state of the relationship or your ex at the time you try it. However, I’m willing to almost guarantee you that they will at least help your situation significantly (if not remedy it).

You may think that it’s too late or all hope is lost, but I have learned through my research and from my own experience that as long as one person is willing to put in a bit of work and planning, there’s always hope that love can return.   I honestly thought my divorce was imminent until I read about these methods and decided to change course in one last ditch effort to save my marriage. Much to my surprise, it worked and it was the opposite of the things I was already trying that were only pushing my husband further away.

Step One: Don’t Let Your Panic Or Desperation Cause You To Act In A Way That Will Push Your Ex Further Away: It’s an intuitive response that when someone wants to leave us that we want to pull them in closer instead. But, as they are pulling away, we tend to panic.  This can lead to desperate actions that are not becoming to or typical of us.

It’s completely understandable that you want to fix this break up, separation or divorce as quickly as you possibly can – thinking that the longer you are apart, the harder it is going to be to get back together.

When our ex rejects this, then it is our inclination to try even harder. Sometimes, this drives us to act irrationally and desperate. You want them to pay attention to you at all cost – even if that attention is negative. So, you show up at our their work or school even if they don’t want you there right then. You text. You leave messages. You give them puppy dog eyes or try to manipulative games. You try to reason with or convince them to change their mind.

I understand why you are doing these things (I did them for a long time too), but here’s what you need to understand. These actions are only bringing on negative feelings that are going to push your ex or current loved one further away. They are going to see you as irrational, unattractive, and undesirable.

More, when you’re sending and communicating these messages meant to do nothing more than change their mind, you’re telling them (although not in the same, exact words) that they’re just plain wrong. In essence, you’re saying that your own needs are greater than theirs or that they aren’t entitled to or correct in wanting a better situation or more happiness.

So, what happens is that your refusal to validate their concerns or feelings puts their defenses on high alert and makes them dig their heals in even more.

Here’s what you should do instead. This will work much better, and will make you both happier and more committed. You don’t really want to “talk your husband into” or “make” your wife or ex girlfriend fall back in love with you when their heart isn’t really in it. You want them to want to come back on their own.

Hearing And Understanding What Your Ex Is Really Saying And Working Together To Fix Problems  / Meet Their Needs Is The First Step Towards Nudging Them To Fall Back In Love With You: Hopefully, I’ve been able to convince you that it’s best not to try and strong arm or trick your ex into falling back in love with you.

If you really want their total commitment and their whole heart into it, then you need them to want to come back entirely on their own. And, I hope I’ve also shown that you can’t approach this from the standpoint of convincing, or tricking them into changing their mind or telling them that their wrong.

So, what do can you instead? The right way to making them fall back in love is to approach them from the point of validation. In essence, you need to say something like “I believe that I hear what you are saying. Am I right in thinking that you’d like (fill in the blank) or are frustrated by (fill in the blank)?

Really listen to what they are saying and don’t interrupt or disagree. Their feeling heard is going to do a huge amount to ease the tension and make them feel closer to you. After your ex has been heard, reassure them that you are committed to working with him to see that their needs are met and their wishes are fulfilled. And, if there’s anything you’d like to add or discuss, now would be the time to do it. But, do it from a loving and patient place that will bring them closer to your rather than pushing them further away.

Work On Yourself, Return To The Person Your Ex First Fell In Love With And Then Present This Person To Your Ex: I know that after a painful break up sometimes you just want to pull the covers over your head and sulk, but is this going to get your ex back? No, it’s not. Instead, I want you to make a list of the things that your ex used to love about you. Resist the urge to say looks or chemistry. What I want you to list are the things like sense of humor, an open heart, your ability to really listen, your laid back nature, etc.  Then, ask yourself how often your ex has recently seen this side of you. I’d be willing to bet not enough. I know this from personal experience.

Then, I want you to take this opportunity to work on yourself and do all of those things that you’ve been putting off that would make you happy. See friends. Reconnect with hobbies and passions. Put a smile on your face. Why? Because not only are you going to feel better, but you’re going to project the happy, loving, carefree person your ex first fell in love with.

I’ll bet as you’re working on yourself (and having a good time doing it), your ex may just wonder what is up. The silence just might get their curiosity up. They may initiate contact with you at this point, but if they don’t, then you should take the initiative (when you’re ready and have worked on yourself) and slyly bump into your ex, write them a letter, or arrange to return something that you want to give them back. Fair warning though. This must be done with total conviction and must be played almost perfectly so they don’t think you are game playing or are not genuine. If they do, your job will only be harder.

Is It Too Late For Your Ex To Fall Back In Love With You?: People often say to me, “Ok, this method makes sense and I want to do it, but my ex won’t even talk to me or take my calls,” or “he / she says she hates me / never wants to see me again,” or “is dating someone else.” Don’t panic here. If your ex is experiencing strong emotions, this can actually be a good sign. It would be more worrisome if they were totally indifferent and weren’t experiencing no emotions at all. And, dating someone else normally doesn’t stick. Often, it just enforces what they miss about you.

At the end of the day, the best way to make some one “fall back in love” is to control what you can – yourself and your own actions.  If you play these cards right, (and take baby steps when you have to)  there’s no reason that at all that the feelings of love, affection, and empathy (as well as the spark) can’t return.

Tablet Packaging Types And Contract Manufacturing

In the pharmaceutical industry, we can broadly divide the two types of tablet packaging into blister packaging and skin packaging on one hand. The benefits of these two types are quite apparent, depending on the requirement and convenience. On the other hand, contract manufacturing plays a major role from custom formulation to distribution, including encapsulation, packaging and labeling of the finished products.

Let us consider each area more elaborately.

Blister packaging

One of the most important materials in this type is Polyvinyl Chloride, or simply PVC, which is a cost-effective material and easy for thermoforming. Some people term this type as unit-dose packaging. It is tamper proof, highly durable and transparent. In this type, a highly automated equipment allows heat-sealing process, which can display the products in several ways. Further, this process attaches the packaging to blister cards. Though this process is meant for only light items, it can be modified for heavier items by using clamshells.

This method of tablet packaging also has several other benefits. First, its protective quality is very high. It is child resistant and simultaneously increases the product efficiency. It enhances as well the ease of use and makes the products more secure for the patients.

Skin packaging

It is also simply known as skin pack. It is as well ideal for small items and quite a cost-effective method. However, it is different from blister packs, in which the plastic around the product is pre-formed. Precisely, the plastic surrounding the product is formed over the product in skin pack. Essentially, it takes very less space during storage and display, so it gives more value to business. In addition to the pharmaceutical industry, it is unsurprisingly popular in the retail market. The shipping expense and freight are also greatly reduced without compromising on the quality of the product with this type of packaging.

The benefits of contract manufacturing in tablet packaging

A few distinct benefits of hiring the service of contract manufacturers in this industry have made the life of medicine manufacturers much easier. There are cost benefits, quality benefits and other mutual benefits. For instance, the medicine makers need not spend on building infrastructure and hiring skilled manpower. In return, they get the service of contractors who specialize in one area of the business, in packaging, in our context.

We can apply these types of packaging according to our business requirements. It is much effortless with processes like contract manufacturing these days.

Mini Oil Change – Changing the Oil in Your Classic Mini Automobile

Changing the oil in your Classic Mini is easy to do, yet you’d be amazed how many people pay garages to do this.

To carry out the oil change yourself you will need the following:

  • A 5 litre container of new oil
  • A new oil filter
  • A large spanner
  • A screwdriver set
  • An oil filter removal tool or large flat-headed screwdriver
  • A funnel
  • A clean rag
  • An oil tray

First, run your Mini engine for five minutes in order to heat up the oil in the engine. Then park the Mini on a level surface and turn off the engine and open up the bonnet.

Using the large spanner, unscrew the sump plug on the side of the sump beneath the car. Make sure you place an oil tray underneath the car to catch the oil.

When the oil is flowing out of the sump, unscrew the oil filler cap on top of the engine to allow the oil to flow faster.

A Mini engine and gearbox will hold over 4 litres of oil. If the container you are using to catch the oil cannot hold this amount, replace the sump plug to stop the flow of oil while you empty the container. I find it useful to keep an old oil container in which to empty the used oil. Use a funnel to prevent spillage.

While the oil is draining out of the engine, remove the front grill using your screwdriver set to gain access to the oil filter.

Eventually the oil will trickle to a few drips a minute. What I like to do next is to pour in some new oil into the top of the engine using a funnel, and let that drain through. It will come out black at first as it collects gunk along the way. When it starts coming out looking like it went in, clean the drain plug of all oil and metal filings with a clean rag. Use the rag to clean the grooves of the sump hole as well so that it is free of metal filings. You can also pour some new oil onto a clean rag and smooth it into the sump hole and over the sump plug.

Next screw the sump plug back in until tight, but don’t go mad and try to over tighten it. It’s tight enough if no oil drips out when you fill it back up.

Mini oil filters can be hard to remove, which is why you can buy oil filter removal tools. Use the oil filter removal tool to remove the old oil filter. With the old Mini oil filter removed, dab some new oil onto a clean rag and clean the oil filter seal on both the engine and the new oil filter.

Screw the new Mini oil filter onto the engine making sure that your hands and the filter casing are not covered in oil, which can cause slippage and prevent a tight seal. Replace the front grill.

With the sump plug back in place and the new oil filter fitted, start pouring new oil into the top of the engine through the filler hole using the funnel, and let it settle. Keep topping up the oil until the dipstick level reads close to max.

Replace the oil filler cap and close the bonnet. Take the car for a short drive around the block and then park it up and allow the engine to cool down.

Once the engine is cold you will find that the oil level has dropped. Remove the filler cap and top up the oil until the oil level reaches max.

You should find that your Classic Mini runs a lot better after an oil change. I could not believe the difference an oil change made to my Mini in both terms of performance and how smooth the engine ran.

It is worth giving your Mini a regular oil change. Check your oil level periodically, and if the oil on your dipstick starts looking a little black, it’s time for another change.

Eight Ways to Save Money on Heating Bills

As temperatures drop, heating expenses begin to rise. Most American households rely on natural gas, electricity, or a combination of the two to keep warm in the winter, and it isn’t always easy to budget for the costs. These tips help to lower bills without sacrificing comfort.

Clean and Replace Filters

Forced-air systems rely on filters to clean and circulate the air. Clogged, dirty filters cause the system to work harder, resulting in higher energy bills and unnecessary wear on the unit. Most filters require monthly replacement, although some offer three months between changes.

Invest in a Programmable Thermostat

Consumer Reports recommends setting the temperature to 68 degrees Fahrenheit during waking hours and decreasing it to 60 degrees overnight. A programmable thermostat automatically takes care of these changes based on the user’s preset specifications. It also makes it easy and cost-efficient to schedule temperature changes to suit household activities, such as work or family vacations.

Take Advantage of Other Sources

Some routine tasks around the house, including cooking, drying clothes, and showering, generate warmth. Morning showers are great ways to boost overnight temperatures, and oven dinners allow homeowners to turn down thermostats early without losing significant amounts of heat.

Warm Up With Sunshine

When it is available, sunlight is an excellent home heating source. Homeowners who open their blinds and curtains during the day usually run their furnaces less often than those who keep their blinds closed. Covering windows as the sun goes down helps to retain the warmth into the evening.

Weatherproof Doors and Windows

As a house ages, tiny cracks and holes often create drafts that result in heat loss. It is not uncommon for a household to waste up to one-quarter of its energy through unseen air leaks. Weather strips minimize loss, and installation is fairly simple. Homeowners can also schedule professional tests to detect other leaks and losses.

Inspect Insulation Levels

Adequate insulation plays a big role in preventing heat loss. Fiberglass and rock wool insulation should be at least 11 inches thick, and cellulose varieties typically sit at least eight inches deep. Homes with wall insulation often retain more warmth than structures with just attic material, and air-sealing a house deliver even more protection.

Reverse the Ceiling Fans

The usual counterclockwise movement of a ceiling fan generates a cooling breeze that is ideal for summer. When winter temperatures take over, it’s time to reverse the direction. As the blades move clockwise, warm air residing near the ceiling circulates downwards and replaces the cool air below it so that the furnace kicks in less often.

Schedule a Maintenance Checkup

Regular maintenance keeps a heating system operating at peak efficiency. Inspections should be performed annually, preferably before the arrival of cold weather. Qualified service technicians examine, clean, and test key components of the system, tighten connections, and clean out the drain lines as part of the inspection. When repairs are inevitable, homeowners with older heating systems often consider upgrading to a newer, more efficient model.

Simmons Luxaire Mattress – A Buyer’s Guide

For couples who want a mattress with motion separation but have individual support requirements, the Simmons Luxaire Mattress might just be the answer to a good night’s sleep.

Many couples loose sleep because of each others tossing and turning during the night. Mattress manufacturers have come up with various types of mattresses that offer motion separation, so that the movement of one partner does not disturb the sleep of the other. The types of mattresses offered to consumers have ranged from water mattresses, to pocket coil springs mattresses, to memory foam mattresses. Indeed, Simmons has produced all three types of these mattresses; the Simmons Natural Spring, the Simmons Beautyrest, and the Simmons Beautyrest with memory foam, respectably. And, whilst all of these mattress types do offer some degree of motion separation, the one thing they don’t offer is the degree of support offered to each partner.

It is not unusual for one partner to be much heavier, by comparison, than the other, which means that each sleeper requires a different degree of support from the mattress they’re sleeping on. Conventional mattresses have been unable to offer motion separation whilst at the same time, offer the individual support for the sleeper. This is where the Simmons Luxaire Mattress comes into its own.

The Simmons Beautyrest Luxaire Mattress, unlike conventional mattresses, has been designed to offer different comfort levels for both sides of the bed. The Luxaire mattress is an air mattress, where the left and right sides of the dual-chamber air mattress inflate and deflate separately with hand controls, so both sleepers can enjoy personal comfort without disrupting the other’s sleep. This means that both sleepers can adjust the support to their own, individual requirements.

Not only, does the Simmons Beautyrest Luxaire mattress, allow each sleeper to adjust the comfort to their individual needs, the Luxaire mattress also comes with two controls – so you don’t have to wrestle with each other.

The Simmons Luxaire mattress comes with the following features:

1. Dual-chamber airbed with heavy-duty rubber air chambers – for personalized, adjustable comfort.

2. Ergonomic controls – backlit LEDs reflect firmness levels. Auto-fill and memory features.

3. The mattress cover is a diamond-quilted, floral damask Lyocell , which make the mattress durable, soft and breathable.

4. The Simmons Luxaire comes with solid wood foundation and quilted fabric – there is a pouch on each side for hand controls.

5. Euro-top comfort layer – 2″ tri-zoned memory foam is denser in the center, which is where you need the most support.

6. Visco-elastic memory foam – conforms to the exact shpre of your body, thus alleviating pressure point – especially good for those who suffer back problems.

7. StayPure satin comfort sleeve – zippered for easy removal and cleaning.

8. Protective, 6-1/2″ pre-assembled foam-based tray, with a reinforced center and vinyl encased barrier, which prevents moisture from reaching the foam.

9. Whisper-quiet air compressor – designed for quicker response time and quiet inflation/deflation.

10. Simmons will set-up the new mattress and foundation and takes away your old one.

11. UL listed computerized air compressor.

12. The Simmons Luxaire mattress complies with California flammability requirements.

13. The Simmons Luxaire mattress comes in King or California King size.

14. The Beautyrest Luxaire mattress comes with manufacturer’s 2-year full and 18-year prorated limited warranties.

The Simmons Beautyrest Luxaire mattress is the perfect answer for couples who want motion separation, but also want different degrees of support. It’s an expensive mattress, but it does deliver the support each partner’s wants and should last a lifetime. It’s one of the best mattresses available for couples. With the Simmons Beautyrest Luxaire mattress two beds become one.

7 Advantages of Double Entry Bookkeeping

In the world of bookkeeping, there are two different systems commonly used by businesses, big and small, to record financial transactions. They are single-entry and double-entry bookkeeping. Both systems “get the job done,” but it depends on what your personal preference dictates. However, unless you’re a small business with simple transactions then double-entry bookkeeping will be the most beneficial to you and your company’s financials.

Single-entry bookkeeping is similar to a checkbook register where only a single line transaction is recorded, reflecting the credit or debit of cash. This simple way of keeping track of your money is less expensive and can be maintained in less time and with less effort. Single-entry bookkeeping only takes into account records of cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and paid taxes. More in depth records such as assets, liabilities, inventory, expenses and revenues are not maintained, thus leading to an inadequate portrayal of your financial records. This is where double-entry bookkeeping comes into play.

Double-entry bookkeeping, which has been around since the 1400’s and is the basis of general accepted accounting principals, is a little more involved. Instead of only one transaction in one column, double-entry makes two entries for every one transaction. A credit entry is made for revenue brought into the company and a debit entry for every transaction paid. In the end, these two entries will offset each other so that both sides will add up to zero. With this in mind, double-entry accounting provides the following advantages over single-entry bookkeeping:

1. A check against a bookkeeping error including theft are automatically provided when transactions are recorded and the total amount of debit entries equals the total amount of credit entries.

2. The preparation of financial statements can be created with ease due to the accurate and continuous calculation of profit (credit) and loss (debit).

3. With both entries recorded (sales and purchases) you can track who owes the company money and who the company owes money to more easily.

4. The company’s financial position is clearly illustrated and can be accessed quickly for effective business planning.

5. With a higher degree of required entries, double-entry bookkeeping has a strict approach creating detailed records of all assets so that your company doesn’t lose track of any income.

6. Double-entry bookkeeping takes internal transactions such as entry adjustment into account which provides more accurate information at the end of the fiscal year.

7. Omission of important data is never a problem because each transaction is recorded twice in two separate columns.

While the benefits have been reduced greatly due to introduction of computerized systems, double-entry bookkeeping will still be more practical when it comes to detecting fraud and errors. Whether you are a single or a double-entry bookkeeper, as long as you’re maintaining your financial records correctly, then continue crunching those numbers and getting the results you desire.

Lawn Bowls Hypnosis – Take Your Game to the Next Level

I am sure you have heard many players say that the game of lawn bowls is played 70% above the shoulders.

Unfortunately no one tells you how to address the mental side of your game.

Why is it you can bowl a perfect draw shot, and then be two metres out with your next bowl?

Well there is a lot more to it than lack of concentration.

You see, your mind controls your arm to deliver that perfect weight and line, your body simple responds to commands from the mind.

Hypnosis will connect your subconscious mind to all those shots you have played so well in previous games, it doesn’t matter if you are drawing or driving.

After using hypnosis for a few weeks you will find that when you step onto the mat your conscious mind will concentrate on your delivery technique while your subconscious mind will automatically produce the line and weight needed for the shot.

The best hypnosis concept I have come across is using a technique called the “Spotlight of Perfection.

While under hypnosis you imagine a golden circle of light surrounding you as you step onto the mat. You then imagine playing different shots and recalling past experiences.

These shots and experiences are stored in your “Spotlight of Perfection”, when you need that perfect 24 metre draw shot your subconscious mind searches your library of shots and pulls out that weight and line information.

Your conscious mind looks after the technical stuff like delivery technique.

Through hypnosis your subconscious mind is also programmed to store the memory of all good bowls that you play into your spotlight of perfection for future use, so you see, your shot selection just gets stronger and stronger.

My own bowling performance has increased dramatically with the use of hypnosis. The session I use only takes 30 minutes and it’s a really great way to relax before you head off to your game.

Even if you are a top bowler and think you can’t get any better you will find that with the use of hypnosis you can just squeeze that little bit more to raise your performance level even higher.

If you are an average bowler then you can expect some major improvement in your bowling using hypnosis.

Hypnosis really does allow your mind to control your body to deliver that bowl where you want it.

Life’s too short to let your game stagnate as the years slip by, do yourself a favour and get your head right for next season.

Buying Persian and Oriental Rugs Abroad – A Guide

Every year thousands of tourists and soldiers bring back Persian or Oriental carpets from their holidays and tours, every year many of them end up red in the face – and not from the sun.

It can be an adventure bringing back souvenirs from far flung countries, an authentic experience and if you know what you are doing an opportunity to pick up a bargain while on your travels. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing however and local shop-keepers can spot tourists a mile-off. There are many risks involved in buying Persian and Oriental carpets abroad, in order to get the deal you really want there are several things to consider.

There are inherent risks involved in buying abroad, foremost amongst these risks is that the seller knows you have no recourse, you will not be able to return the goods you purchase if there is something wrong with them, if they are fake or even if you simply decide against it. Because of this they are more likely to take advantage, sound advice would be to make it known that you will be around for a while and wont be leaving town the next day, even if you are.

Another important thing to remember is that when you go to buy the shop-keeper of seller knows that you are not an expert and not a dealer. You are unlikely to receive the trade prices that someone in the business would get and they will attempt to charge retail prices. If these people are used to dealing with businesses from abroad then there is likely to be considerable room for negotiation. They might not sell you their wares at the same price someone would gain with a bulk order but if they start high there is likely to be a large reduction available if pushed, they will still make more than they would selling to a professional.

The next consideration is custom charges. Sneaking a rug in with your luggage may work but if caught you will be forced to pay import duty and VAT at your home airport – these charges amount to a further 8% duty in the UK then an additional 17.5% VAT on top of this plus any handling fees and penalties so factor these in when purchasing abroad. Larger rugs may need you to send the rug abroad which again can be pricey.

Each country is different and each have their own risks. Popular destinations for buying abroad include Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and the U.A.E (including Dubai).

Turkey is a popular tourist destination, whether you are in the bustling streets of Istanbul or at a beach resort in the south you are likely to run into hand-knotted rugs at some point. Many tours and excursions have a rug section on them where you are shown the traditional weaving process before being hard-sold to with professional sales people. Turkish sellers can be very charming but remember these places are tourist traps and you are likely to be paying top-dollar, or pound, for what can sometimes be fairly low quality carpets. The streets of Istanbul has many shops and boutiques on offer selling a wonderment of woven colours. Again these places are used to tourists and are likely to start with tourist prices. One thing to watch out for, particularly in Turkey, is art-silk rugs. Many of the silk rugs sold in Turkey turn out to be in fact Viscose Rayon greatly reducing their value, robustness and longevity. Good advice would be to avoid buying silk rugs abroad unless you are confident of being able to tell the difference between real silk and art-silk.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are other places where many rugs are purchased by tourists, quite simply this is ill-advised. The U.A.E does not have a rug weaving industry, the rugs sold here are imported from from Iran, Turkey, India and Afghanistan and sold in retail stores. There is nothing inherently wrong with this but you are likely to get the same deal in these places as you would in a Persian or Oriental rug store back home. Depending on where you are and where you shop back home it may actually be quite a bit more expensive. Peoples’ guard is down when they are on holiday, many look to purchase objects in the hope that it will prolong their feeling of being on holiday, but a rug is a purchase you should make with both your heart and your head.

In Iran and India deals can be had, particularly on used (but good condition) pieces but it helps to speak the language or have someone there with you. The biggest threat here is that you may be sold something when in fact it is a lower grade item. A Westerner is easy prey when it comes to selling an Ardekan as a Kashan or a Tabbas as a Nain. Knowing a little about rugs will help as will going for something that you like rather than something that is sold to you. India makes a lot of copies of Persian designs, there is nothing wrong with this but keep in mind it is an Oriental rug, not a Persian and the investment value is not the same.

One key point for American buyers – if you buy an Iranian (Persian) carpet you are running the risk of it being confiscated at customs, there is an embargo on Iranian goods to the US including Persian rugs so be warned.

The next two stops are possibly more relevant to soldiers than tourists but the warnings are the same. Iraq does not produce any rugs of note, the pieces sold here are brought in specifically for the purpose of selling to the armed forces, these could be from any of the surrounding countries and all of the above advice applies. It should be possible to get a good deal if you know what you are doing but it is not uncommon for soldiers to be sold fake-silk rugs or even machine-made pieces thinking they were the genuine article. Afghanistan is perhaps one of the better countries to get a good deal on a hand-knotted carpet. Although they also sell Iranian rugs here the Afghan rugs themselves are normally of a very high standard and also fairly well suited to the Western home. This does not mean you should not be careful but buying a commercial grade carpet here can be good business but it is always useful to compare prices with those at home.

Buying abroad is a balance of risk and reward, the more you know the better deal you are likely to strike. If something seems to good to be true it probably is and you will likely have no way of getting your money back. If you do purchase abroad here are some key points to consider:

  • Do some research before buying – read up on knot counts and telling the difference between machine-made and hand-made rugs
  • Avoid silk rugs – if you must buy silk make sure you know what you are doing
  • Stay clear of Persian rugs if you do not want to run the risk of confiscation at US customs.
  • Haggle, haggle, haggle – unless you know you are getting a brilliant deal then force down the price considerably. Do not be afraid to walk away, remember, sellers would much prefer to sell to a tourist with a big discount that a dealer with a wholesale price
  • Consider local rugs – rugs made in and around the area of purchase are likely to be best value
  • Factor in the cost of transportation, duty and tax. This could add anywhere between 20-40% to the initial cost, more depending on the transport fee.
  • Check out your local rug specialist before going – you will find they may be able to offer you a great deal and a safer shopping environment.

The True Origin of the Baja Hoodie

An assumption exists that the Baja Hoodie, also known as the Mexican Hoodie, Mexican Jacket, or Mexican Pullover, originated from Mexico because of the abundant supply and variety of the product in towns and cities along the U.S.-Mexican border. Vendors in these areas use the stereotypical image to market their products towards tourists. Hypothetically, an indecisive tourist at the end of vacating to Mexico wants to purchase a souvenir to symbolize the culture, diversity, and foreign lands, and will often settle on a serape blanket or Baja Hoodie. And so the misperception is perpetuated that the baja hoodie represents Mexico and all it stands for.

Perhaps the misguidance is in the name. The word baja may suggest that the location of origin is Baja, Mexico. In reality, baja is a descriptive word for the material of the jacket. Baja is a synonym for another Spanish word, franela, whose literal translation to English is flannel, suggesting the characteristic multicolored, crossed-patterned designs. Franela more traditionally means fine-twined wool or cotton. Therefore, the word baja describes the nature of the fabric and decorative design of the jacket not the location.

Why is the Baja Hoodie then sold in Mexico? The truth is, the baja jacket did make its way through Mexico but it did not originate there. Its origins can be traced to the indigenous people of Central and South America. It is a derivative or fashion ancestor to the poncho.

An indigenous group in Southern Chile, for example, called the Mapuche can be linked to the advent of the poncho. The poncho garners a rectangular shape with a hole in the center for the head of the wearer. The Mapuche found practical use of the poncho as the simplistic design served a protective function in windy and rainy climates by reducing exposure to the elements in that region. Some of the oldest archeological finds of textiles or fabrics with complex designs and patterns were found in cemetery sites in Chile and Argentina in 1300 AD, in areas where the Mapuche thrived.

Camel hair was the primary material used to create the weaves to make the fabric. Later, colonizing Europeans introduced sheep to the natives. The indigenous people began breeding sheep and weaving their thicker wool into the material to assemble the poncho. Wool and cotton became the preferred material and characteristically defined the poncho as warm and durable.

The simplicity and practicality of the poncho magnified its popularity and use throughout the region. As it spread geographically it naturally evolved into several useful variations of protective jackets, including what we now know as the Baja Hoodie which dawns an accessory hood and sleeves with a front pouch. Perhaps the evolution of the poncho to the hoodie parallels the invention of our modern Snuggie, a blanket with sleeves. Conceivably, someone thought, “wouldn’t it be nice if I could keep this warm thing on and have better use of my hands?” What wasn’t lost in translation or evolution was the very thing that describes it in its name, the significance of the material. And that’s why there is still a demand for Baja Hoodies today, because they’re woven with material to be durable, comfortable, and warm while still maintaining what made their relatives simplistic and practical so many years ago.

How to Get Rid of Vomit Smells

Vomiting is one of the ways your gastrointestinal system gets rid of the “bad stuff.” Normally, it is a short-lived symptom; but the consequences of vomit should be quite apparent to even the most feeble minded.

When you have children, pets, and/or a significant other that suffers from bouts of vertigo/morning sickness, vomit is an unpleasant reality that you may have to clean up now and then. It’s important that you clean up immediately to avoid staining and to quickly disperse the unpleasant odor. For more information regarding this topic, just read and follow the simple tips below.

Vomit Smell Removal

* Remove the vomit from the carpet or other surface; this should always be the first step. Try to do this without spreading the mess around and be sure to wipe up any solids so that only the wet spot remains. Also, if nauseous, be sure to open up the windows for fresh air to let the fumes out, lest you donate your own two cents into the pile of semi-digested goop.

* Sponge the spot stained by the vomit with cool water. Then add half a cup of salt to two quarts of water and use this to further sponge the area and rinse with plain water.

If this does not work, soak the stain for 30 minutes with cool water. Blot the area again with a sponge and some diluted dish detergent until the stain is gone.

* Heavily sprinkle pet carpet deodorizer on the area and let sit for a short time. The just vacuum it up! You may have to do this a couple of times; if so, let the second “dose” sit for a while longer or even rub the deodorizer in with a damp rag. Let it dry and vacuum again. That should do it.

* There’s just something about vinegar when it comes to stains and odors, isn’t there? Vinegar (a weak acid) is a great way to clean, disinfect and deodorize surfaces, including those victimized by vomit.

Of course, vinegar doesn’t smell much better than vomit (one would say they smell almost the same), but the smell of vinegar eventually diminishes, while vomit smells doesn’t. It’s the lesser of two evils, if you will.

* If vomit has penetrated the actual cushion of your coach or carpet, you may have a harder time getting rid of the smell, but keep trying. You may have to saturate a cushion in vinegar water to get to the center to neutralize this smell.

Afterwards, let the cushion air dry outside in the warm sun for a few days. Then, just to be sure it’s dry all the way through, put the cover back on and tumble dry it at the laundromat with fabric softener sheets. The combined heat of the sun and the laundromat should help kill the vomit odors that the vinegar water didn’t neutralize.

* Another thought; after you’ve thoroughly gotten rid of the vomit smell, try child-proofing your couches. If the cushions have zippered covers, take all of the cushions out, and wrap the cushions in large plastic bags, tape tight as possible. Then put the cushions back in their cases.

Not only will you have waterproofed your cushions, but it the plastic-wrapped cushions are easily cleaned and maintained. Conversely, once you buy new cushions, never take them out of their vacuum-tight plastic packaging.

* Steam cleaning will help remove vomit smells. If soap and water doesn’t work, try renting a powerful steam cleaner with a hand-held attachment. Whatever you do, don’t use harsh chemicals and make sure you do your best to dry the area you’ve cleaned.

* Here’s an ensemble method using a whole bunch of cleaning agents: try spraying the affected area with a mixture of vinegar, Pine-Sol and a scented liquid soap. Let it dry thoroughly, and then use some Febreze spray to finish the job. It’s undoubtedly hard to work through all that, but it beats trying to run out to buy new furniture.

* Pour a generous amount of baking soda over the area and let it soak in. This will help get rid of the vomit odor; sodium bicarbonate is a great absorbent powder. Then vacuum up the baking soda residue completely.

Once that’s done, set a towel over the damp area, press down on the towel and leave it until the area dries completely. If the stench persists, either consult a cleaning professional or repeat this method until the stench is gone.

* Speaking of cleaning professionals, they’re also an open option for vomit smell removal. Whatever the situation of the hirer, a professional cleaning service can cost a lot less money than most people would expect. Indeed, if all else fails, commercial carpet and rug cleaning equipment do exist to help you out.

The cleaners provide all the equipment and detergents and above all, they have the experience of having cleaned rooms which would probably make your vomit-stinking room smell like the Rose Parade in comparison.

Vomit Smell Removing Products

* Nature’s Miracle truly is a miracle when it comes to bad odor removal, even vomit smell removal. Cat urine is the worst and hardest smell to get rid of, but it easily folded against the power and ability of Nature’s Miracle. You just need to saturate the affected area with the product and the natural enzymes will immediately get to work to rid you of the offensive smell.

Furthermore, it’s not just for cat urine; it also removes all organic stains and odors, including foods, blood, vomit, feces, grease, dirt, grass, smoke and perspiration. Add that to that fact that it’s usable on carpets, floors, furniture, clothing, and so on and so forth, and you have a winning brand right there! Goodbye, vomit smell!

* There’s this product called Dryell and you find it in Wal-Mart; it comes in a kit with bags and a bottle of special cleaning fluid. If you take the fluid and squirt it on the vomit stain repeatedly while blotting it with a white rag, the stain will eventually come out.

* Pine-Sol is a household cleaning agent used in bathrooms, kitchens, and other cleaning applications. The primary ingredients in Pine-Sol are pine oil, surfactants and isopropanol. Labeling also warns of alkyl alcohol ethoxylates content in the product, but all in all it’s a good cleaning product when it comes to vomit odors as well.

* Fresh Wave has an array of all natural, non-toxic and earth-friendly products for the laundry, upholstery, floors and the air that are designed to attract, capture and neutralize sour house odors.

* Buy a large pump of Febreze; it works on everything. Smelly hampers, sticky rental cars, sleeping bags that stink of camp fire, and of course the topic of discussion, odoriferous regurgitated food; you name the smell, Febreze can quickly quell.

Cellulitis Infection Symptoms – Needed Treatment For The Inflammation

If you have cellulitis infection symptoms then you will want to get proper treatment quickly to prevent serious health complications. This article will provide an easy to read and understand explanation of this common bacterial infection and what you must do if cellulitis symptoms appear.

Cellulits Symptoms And Causes

Symptoms include the sudden onset of a red and tender skin inflammation that can grow to many inches in diameter in a short period. The inflamed area will typically have distinct borders and the skin will feel warm and be tender or painful.

The inflammation will be accompanied by fever (with periodic chills and sweats) and a general poor feeling (malaise). Muscle aches and pains may also be present. The condition may be more common on the face or legs but can occur at any area of the body.

Erysipelas is a severe form of cellulitis that will produce similar symptoms and may also include vomiting as a symptom.

Cellulitis is due to a bacterial infection (typically staphylococcus or streptococcus). An outbreak of cellulitis can occur when bacteria that normally lives on the surface of the skin enters the body through a break, cut, insect or animal bite, diabetic ulcer, surgical wound or other trauma to the skin. When the bacteria enters the body it can result in infection and inflammation.

Cellulitis Diagnosis and Treatment

If the symptoms of cellulitis are noted it is important to see a doctor due to the fact that untreated cellulitis can spread quickly and lead to complicating conditions such as bone infection (osteomyelitis), inflammation of the lymph vessels (lymphangitis), meningitis (associated with cellulitis on the face), sepsis, shock and death of the surrounding tissue.

A doctor will perform a physical examination of the affected area and possibly blood tests such as a blood culture and complete blood count (CBC)

Typical treatment will involve the use of antibiotics to control the infection and prevent complicating factors from developing. Aspirin or other analgesics medications may be used to reduce fever or discomfort. Cool magnesium sulfate compresses may help ease inflammation. Rest is usually required to recover.

Hospitalization may be required for those with compromised immune systems due to cancer or HIV or for cases that include a very high fever, elevated blood pressure or continual nausea and vomiting. An infection near the eyes may also require a hospital stay.
