Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends and other loved ones can write an Easter Bunny letter from scratch, or, to make the process much simpler yet still personal, they can choose to customize a letter found on the Internet. Additionally, some Web sites offer letters already formatted on attractive, full-color Easter letterhead that can be instantly downloaded and printed.

No professional writing skills are needed to write a letter from the Easter Bunny. By following a few basic tips, knowing the child and getting into a “bunny” frame of mind, you, too, can make Easter extra-special with a letter from a very special rabbit.

First, decide on timing. When and how do you want the letter to be delivered? If it will be sent in the mail, you’ll need to get it written, formatted, printed and sent off with days to spare. For older children, you might also want to consider taking steps to make sure the letter isn’t postmarked from your own town. In general, you want the welder to run on a setting that allows you to weld in any position without needing to change the amperage or voltage.

Youth Baseball Drills – "Shine the Light Drill"

One great word picture that we use to help hitters get short to the ball is what we call “Shine the Light”. In our youth baseball drills, If we can help the hitter to visualize the knob of the bat as a flashlight, it will help him to get inside the pitch and achieve the short, compact stroke.

Most hitters will initially drive the knob of the bat towards the ground and they begin their stroke. This causes the bat to flip behind them, causing a long stroke, and taking the hands out of position.

Also, if the hitter lifts the front shoulder just one inch, this will also invite the bat knob to drop down.

Here’s one of our best youth baseball hitting tips. Imagine a laser beam coming from the flashlight directly to the ball. Ask the hitter to immediately “shine the light” on the ball, driving the knob in the direction of the pitch. This will help to correct the long stroke and get the bat head into the proper contact position.

This is easy. “Shine the Light”. From that point the short stroke and proper contact will follow.

Here is a very important point to make this effective for you. Your stride will not be vital to hit the ball. It simply will allow the hitter to be in a better position to meet the baseball. In other words, the hands are still in the lock position at the end of the stride. Your stride will overcome inertia and give a level of support that will enable you hit the fastball.

Treadmill Deck Info: Treadmill Decks Materials and Warranty

Treadmill deck is the material that forms the hard surface on which you run. In other words it’s the supportive surface. This article distinguishes the decking from the tread belt which is the belt that moves across the decking.

Important

Treadmill manufacturers don’t provide a great deal of information about the actual construction materials of their decks. These days most treadmills, especially if priced above $1,000 are constructed with decently strong tread decks (usually medium density fibreboard with a duo phenolic coating – all discussed in detail below).

However, strength isn’t the be all and end all. If strength were most important, more treadmill manufacturers would use metal. Metal is used, but not extensively.

What are decking construction objectives?

Like I said above, if strength was the only objective, metal or steel decks would rule the day. But strength isn’t the only objective. Quality decking should:

  • Be strong
  • Be durable
  • Have some elasticity (i.e. slightly flexible, but not bouncy)
  • Minimize noise (i.e. muffle noise if possible)
  • Have a smooth surface to minimize tread belt friction

What materials are used?

Often you’ll see reference to solid wood, medium density fibreboard (MDF), and metal as materials used for treadmill decks. For coating you’ll usually read about phenolic coating. The article explains these different materials.

Materials

1. Medium density fibreboard (MDF)

MDF is created by breaking down wood into fibres (sawdust) and then forming the fibres into a solid treadmill deck with wax and resin. The usual thickness is 3/4″ to 1″. You can read more about MDF here.

MDF is the predominant material used for treadmill decks.

2. Solid wood

The deck is made out of 3/4″ to 1″ solid wood. The trouble with solid wood is it’s hard to find a piece of wood that is perfect. MDF, although not perfect either, ensures a consistency that’s hard to find with solid wood.

Particle board: Particle board is no the same as MDF. Particle board is not fibre-based. It’s a solid wood composite product. The result is that particle board is much weaker than MDF. MDF is denser and stronger.

Avoid treadmills with decks using particle board. You’ll be lucky to get a year out of it.

3. Metal

Metal decks are not nearly as prevalent as solid wood or MDF decks. It’s heavier and doesn’t create as “soft” of a surface as wood or MDF. Running on metal or steel simply isn’t as enjoyable as on solid wood or MDF.

What material do I recommend?

MDF deck that is duo or triple coated with phenolic resin coating.

The coating

Some treadmills are coated on both sides (duo-coating, sometimes also referred to as triple-coating), while lower-quality treadmills coat only 1 side of a treadmill deck. The better deck is coated on both sides which helps reduce warping. It’s also better for reducing friction with the tread deck along the entire surface area on which the tread belt moves.

Best material used for coating:

Phenolic: This is the best coating material. You’ll pay more for phenolic coating, but it’s worth it.

What is phenolic resin coating?

Phenolic resin coating is a plastic resin. When a treadmill deck is coated with phenolic resin, wax the wood deck is unnecessary.

Can you build your own if your original deck breaks?

Yes, but it’s not advisable unless you really know what you’re doing. Simply slamming in a sheet of plywood or MDF isn’t going to do it. There’s properly coating the deck and ensuring it securely attaches to the treadmill.

The last thing you want is your deck to break apart when running or walking.

This is why having a lifetime warranty on your treadmill deck is important. Decks often break or crack (especially with lower-priced treadmills).

Decking Considerations

Replacement frequency

The range in the number of hours of use treadmill decks are good for is astounding. Some lower-end treadmill decks are designed for 500 hours, while other warranty their decks for life. Naturally the intensity of use and weight of users will impact the duration of a treadmill deck.

Is it reversible?

Some treadmill manufacturers make reversible tread decks so that you can get more mileage out of them.

Is reversible good?

It depends. Some manufacturers make treadmill decks that are warrantied for a lifetime without having to reverse them. Others don’t come with a lifetime warranty and can’t be reversed. These may have the shortest lifespan. Then there are treadmills with reversible decks which in theory doubles the lifespan of the treadmill deck.

The warranty

Ideally, the treadmill you buy will have a lifetime warranty on the deck. This is indicative the manufacturer stands behind the deck and in the event the deck fails, you get a replacement.

Nadru Monje – Fritters of Lotus Stem In Kashmiri Style

Muskaan Shah, my best friend and sister, invited me to her place to help her mother in cooking. Why? Her brother Masroor Bhaiji was arriving from Srinagar with his family. She wanted me to meet them and interact with his family. I was busy in the kitchen, standing next to Mummyji (Muskaan’s mother) and completing various jobs like chopping vegetable for salads, grinding various spices, cleaning coriander leaves, etc.

At 4 o’clock sharp, the bell rang and I could see small kids running from the front door to the bed room and were excited to meet Muskaan. She introduced me to the entire family. After sometime, she called me again and handed over a bag. She said that the contents of the bag were called NADRU MONJE – her favourite snack. It was prepared by her sister-in-law. I started munching them and instantly mesmerised by the taste of it. They were the long strips and very crispy by texture.

Next moment I asked them to give me the recipe. She asked me to enjoy the dish and forget about the recipe. However, as the years passed by, I learnt the recipe. There are three different versions of the recipe. I would be sharing all three of them in this article.

Nadru Monje In Rice Flour

Ingredients Required

  • Lotus Stems-1 kg
  • Rice flour-3 cups
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder-2 tablespoons
  • Asafoetida-1/2 tablespoon
  • Salt-1 tablespoon
  • Oil-1 kg
  • Water-1 cup

Steps For Preparation

  • Clean and wash the lotus stems properly under the running water.
  • Scrap the outer covering of the lotus stems.
  • Cut the long strips lengthwise from lotus stems
  • Place them in an utensil filled with water.
  • Take another utensil.
  • Add rice flour into it.
  • Add kashmiri red chilli powder into the rice flour.
  • Add salt into it.
  • Add asafoetida into it.
  • Mix them well with fingers.
  • Add water into the flour.
  • Blend all of them together in a smooth batter.
  • Take the precaution for not adding more water to the batter. The batter should be of thick consistency.
  • Take a large wok and place it on the gas stove.
  • Add oil into it and turn on the gas stove.
  • Remove the lotus stem strips from water.
  • Remove the excess water from the lotus stems
  • Add them to the batter.
  • Dip the strips properly into the batter.
  • Check if the oil has reached to its maximum temperature.
  • Place each dipped strip of lotus stem into oil.
  • Turn them to the other side once it is fried well.
  • Keep tossing the strips continuously in order to avoid them from charring in the oil.
  • Once the strips are well fried in the oil, remove them and place them on a tissue paper. This helps in the removal of the excess oil present in the fritters.
  • Serve them immediately with mint chutney or tomato sauce.

This is genuine and authentic recipe of nadru monje. I was surprised to know that this dish is prepared in a lavish manner and distributed to all the devotees and tourists visiting Hazrat Bal Mosque in Srinagar, Kashmir. Later on, I came to know that Sufi saints favoured the snack in the valley. Even now the snack is in great demand at this place. It is one of the starters in the Islamic Kashmiri Cuisine. The above mentioned recipe is relished by all kashmiri individuals.

The Nadru Monje In Gram Flour

Ingredients Required

  • Lotus Stems-1 kg
  • Gram Flour-3 cups
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder-1 tablespoon
  • Salt-1 tablespoon
  • Water-1 cup
  • Turmeric Powder-1 tablespoon
  • Oil-1 kg
  • Cumin Seeds-1 tablespoon

Steps For Preparation

  • Clean the lotus stems under the running water.
  • Cut them legthwise and get the strips from the lotus stem.
  • Place them in an utensil filled with water.
  • Take an utensil and add gram flour, salt, kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder and cumin seeds.
  • Add sufficient water in order to make the smooth batter.
  • Remove the excess water from lotus stems and add them to the batter.
  • Take a wok and add oil into it.
  • Place it on a gas stove.
  • Once the oil has reached to its maximum temperature, place the strips of lotus stems into it.
  • Fry them well in oil.
  • Remove them from oil and place them on a tissue paper.
  • Serve them with tomato sauce.

Yet there are others who would like to add one or two eggs in the rice flour to prepare the fritters. This gives an entirely different taste to the fritters. No matter what version one would like to adopt for its preparation, the snack is ready to be enjoyed by one and all in the family.

I like the first version of this snack. I came to know that the snack helps for individuals suffering from low blood pressure. It helps in the removal of the mood swings. Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)

Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) refers to a group of blood disorders resulting from a dysfunction in the bone marrow. This causes ineffective blood production resulting in symptoms such as anemia, fatigue, recurrent fever, heart disease, and bleeding from different parts of the body. A reduction in the immune response of the body can result in recurrent infections which may have a fatal outcome. In the late or severe stage of the disease, the patient may suffer from shock and serious secondary infection which may cause death. When there is no known cause of the disease, it is known as primary MDS. This condition is known as secondary when it results from known causes such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, viral infection, exposure to chemicals, and having a genetic disposition to the disease.

Patients suffering from MDS are conservatively treated with packed cell transfusions which temporarily alleviate the situation; however, this can result in a buildup of excess iron in the body and result in long-term complications over time. The administration of medicines like ATG can result in improvement in about 30-60 percent cases; however the response is unpredictable and wanes over time, in addition to the treatment being prohibitively costly. In this scenario, treatment with Ayurvedic herbal medicines can be quite safe and effective in the long run. It is important to aggressively treat this disease so as to obtain an early remission and prevent a relapse. After this, treatment can be gradually tapered over several months. Additionally, it is also important to monitor the patient for the next few years so as to detect a relapse of the condition. 1) Fluffy slime

This recipe is the easiest and simplest of all! Just like the name suggests, fluffy slime feels softer and lighter compared to a regular slime, and it might be soft enough for your hands to feel great while playing with it during your stress buster session.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

• Mixing bowl

• Mixing spoon

• Shaving foam cream

• Elmer’s glue or PVA Glue

• Contact lens solution

• Baking Soda

• Food coloring (choice)

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

A) Add some PVA glue or elmer’s glue into the mixing bowl (not much of it is required as this recipe makes a decent amount of slime even with a less amount of glue used) and add shaving cream foam (after shaking the can well) into the bowl of glue.

B) Add a pinch of baking soda into the same bowl (Baking soda Loosens the slime to make it less sticky to surfaces) and mix it well with a mixing spoon.

C) Add a few drops of your choice of food coloring into the mixture and mix again, for the color to show.

D) Add a small amount of contact lens solution into the mixture and mix until it becomes a slimy structure (keep adding a small amount after a good mix if it doesn’t but be sure not to add too much as it might make the slime break instead of spreading) When the mixture detaches from the bowl and becomes a blob, that’s when the slime is ready!

2) Crunchy Slime

Crunchy slime, as its name suggests is fun to play with because of the sound it makes. So here’s how to make some Crunchy slime!

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Mixing bowl

• Mixing spoon

• Stay-Flo liquid starch

• Clear Elmer’s or PVA glue

• Clear beads

• Food coloring of your choice

METHOD OF PREPARATION

A) Pour some amount of Clear PVA or Elmer’s glue into a mixing bowl.

B) Add a drop or two of the food coloring of your choice (too much color can make the slime dark and opaque) and mix.

C) Add a small bit amount of Stay-flo liquid starch and mix. You can notice that the solution is becoming a bit slimy. Keep adding a bit amount of the starch and mix until the slime is formed.(The slime may seem opaque due to the air bubbles formed, but if you let it settle down for a while, then it will become clear).

D) Add some clear beads (glass or plastic)to the slime and play around with it until the beads completely stick into it and create a Crunch-like sound as you play.

3) Floam Slime

Floam slime is a mixture of Floam and slime, where Floam is a play structure that can mould into different shapes. Seems interesting? Well, here is how you can make it!

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Mixing bowl

• Mixing spoon

• Foam bead balls

• Liquid starch

• Elmer’s Glue or PVA glue

• Food coloring of your choice

METHOD OF PREPARATION

A) Pour in some Elmer’s or PVA glue into your mixing bowl (you can add as much as you want depending on how much slime you’d like to make).

B) Add some food coloring of your choice into the bowl and mix until the color is visible.

C) Add a small amount of liquid starch and mix until the solution becomes slimy.

D) Add foam balls to the slime and play until the balls are completely adhered into the slime.

4) Butter Slime

One of the hardest recipes of slime and the most complicated to make. Yet totally worth the effort! As the name says, butter slime looks and spreads around like butter and feels extremely smooth to play with.

MATERIALS USED

• Mixing bowl

• Mixing spoon

• Contact lens solution

• Baking Soda

• Elmer’s Glue or PVA glue

• Corn flour

• Shaving cream foam

• Baby oil

• Food coloring (preferably yellow)

METHOD OF PREPARATION

A) Add three table spoons of corn flour and three table spoons of PVA or Elmer’s Glue into the mixing bowl.

B) Add three heaped table spoons of shaving cream foam (This might be a bit difficult to measure but try your best to get some accurate measure).

C) Add four pinches of baking soda to the mixture in the bowl.

D) Add the food coloring into the mixture and mix well until it starts to look and feel like cake batter.

E) Add two teaspoons of contact lens solution into the mixture and mix well until the slime is formed.

F) Add half a teaspoon of baby oil to give the slime a buttery structure. And start playing!

5) Iceberg Slime

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Mixing bowl

• Mixing spoon

• Baby powder

• Borax

• Elmer’s glue or PVA glue

• Shaving cream foam

• Hand lotion

• Food Coloring of your choice

METHOD OF PREPARATION

A) Empty a whole bottle of Elmer’s or PVA glue into a mixing bowl, and add a whole can of shaving cream foam into it as well.

B) Add three pumps of hand lotion to make your slime silky, and four pumps of baby powder to give it a matte finish.

C) Add some food coloring (preferably blue and green together to make it look like an iceberg) and mix. (The mixing becomes very difficult as the quantity is very huge and there might be even chances that you have to add more food coloring to intensify the mixture color).

D) Add one teaspoon of borax into hot water (separate from the mixing bowl) and mix.

E) Slowly add the borax solution to the slime mixture and mix until the solution becomes slimy. If you let the slime settle down in the fridge or even in a cool area, the top layer hardens for you to break like an iceberg when you are ready to play.
