When gum gets stuck to clothing the following method can be applied. Firstly, scrape off as much as you can, the less there is the faster you can remove it.

The reason why gum is so haared to remove is because at room temperature it becomes gooey which makes it a lot more awkward and stubborn. To counter act this state you need to place the garment into a plastic bag and then into your freeze, leaving it to cool for 30 minutes.

When you have done this remove the said item from the freezer and the bag and scrape it off, this should me most if not all of the gum. If any remains then use methylated spirit to get rid of it.

Obviously, when chewing gum gets into your carpets or furnishings you can not put them into the freezer. Instead you need to improvise. Place ice cubes onto the affected area, in order to harden the gum and then just peel it off. As above, if any remains then use methylated spirit to get rid of it. This method has been personally tried and tested by me before you have my assurance that it does work
