St Louis Weight Loss

As a child of the Show Me State and someone that spent their first six years of life in St. Louis, I thought it would be neat to pay tribute to my birth city. St. Louis is a wonderful city with a tremendous heritage. One usually does not have many memories from age zero to six years but I recall the Budweiser presence, the Purina smoke stack, the Golden Arch and the St. Louis Cardinals (football).

This article will touch on some interesting aspects of St. Louis, as well as provide an empowering view on Weight Loss. So if you are looking for that perfect body image, or simply trying to stop the insanity of being so out of shape, this article will prove worthwhile in the end. Or maybe you are trying to get over a poor body image. So read on about my days in St Louis followed by a quality weight loss insight.

Forty some years later and one of the great things that I attribute to St. Louis is their passion for soccer. Of course, the local MLS (Major League Soccer) franchise is in Kansas City but the amateur, collegiate and youth ranks of soccer in St. Louis is some of the best in the country.

As an adult, I managed some accounts in St. Louis while running a sales team in the technology sector. My favorite customer was Software Plus and their wonderful leads – Larry & Patty Malashock. Their Purchasing Manager (Blake) worked me over for low ball pricing on a daily basis but as a business partner and customer Software Plus was a real blessing in my life and to this day I am very grateful.

Other things that I love about my birth city include: Forest Park, Mother Roads, Anheuser Busch Brewery, Magic House, Cahokia Mounds, City Garden, The Museum of Transportation, Black World History Museum, Six Flags, Purina Farms, St Louis Zoo, World Bird Sanctuary, Cathedral Basilica and many other cool things like the Mississippi River.

Educational offerings in St Louis include University of Missouri and the St. Louis College and probably dozens of others.

Major sports teams in the city include the St Louis Rams and the St Louis Cardinals.

Sports venues in the city include: All American Sports Mall, America’s Center and Edward Jones, Anheuser-Busch – St. Louis Soccer Park, Busch Stadium, Chaifetz Arena, Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, Dwight Davis Tennis Center, Family Arena, Gateway International Raceway, Hardees Ice Complex, Korte Stadium, Ozzie Smith’s Sports Complex and T.R. Hughes Ballpark, Scottrade Center, St. Peters Rec-Plex, TR Hughes Ballpark and the U.S. Ice Sports Complex.

One of my best memories from St. Louis was when my grandparents visited and I tried to hide in the backseat of the car in order to go with them – I missed them so much. Another great memory is when we picked up a stray cat in the middle of the night and half asleep I responded to my dad saying what should we name it and I replied: Coconut. What a great name.

If you are trying to lose weight in St. Louis, then you need to be selective in where you eat. There are too many choices that have very little lite or healthy fare on the menu. However, new eateries have surfaced in the last few years and your chances are much better than they used to be. Be smart about where you eat and what you eat.

Some Healthy Restaurants that we have heard of in St. Louis include the following:

Blimpie Subs and Salads, Amighetti’s Bakery & Cafe, Govindas and Sqwires.

Weight Loss in any city is a matter of consuming fewer calories than you consume. Energy in minus energy out determines your weight loss. When considering diet and exercise, most people understand that the diet plays a significantly greater role in their weight loss battle than exercise does. It’s really simple math. You can consume a lot of calories quickly but even the most difficult physical challenges can only burn off so many calories. And it is not just what you consume, clearly if you are genuinely interested in weight loss, you need to consider what types of foods you eat and when. Many foods have a positive effect on our overall health while other foods have dire consequences.

And don’t forget to be sure and grab an empowering image of how you are going to look AFTER you lose the weight. Because one of the best ways to lose weight is to get an empowering view of yourself as to how you are going to look after you lose the weight. Hold that image at the center of your attention as if it were you standing on top of the St. Louis Arches.
