Excel Tips – 3 Ways To Protect Your Excel Formulas

In this article I want to share with you 3 ways to protect your Excel formulas.

So, you have spent a long time preparing your Excel spreadsheet solution, and I bet you do not want anyone to mess up those formulas you have so lovingly created. So, there are a few ways to protect some of those most vulnerable parts of your Excel spreadsheet.

My top 3 ways to protect your Excel Formulas !!

  1. Hide the Formulas.
  2. Lock The Cells That Contain Formulas.
  3. Hide The Formula Bar With Some Simple VBA.

1.Hide The Formulas.

This method will temporarily hide your formulas , but you will be able to use them again if you need to. It's simple and straight forward. Here we go.

Select all of the cells that contain formulas that you want to hide.

  • Home Tab – Cells Group – Format – Format Cells
  • Navigate to the Protection Tab
  • Check the Hidden option and hit OK

This does not in itself hide your formulas, you need to then protect your worksheet to ensure these settings work.

  • Select Review Tab
  • Changes Group
  • Select Protect Sheet
  • Enter a password and confirm password when prompted
  • That's all you need to do.

Try selecting the a cell that contains a formula. The formula will not be visible in the formula bar. If you want to see the formulas again simply unprotect your worksheet.

2. Lock The Cells That Contain Formulas.

The second method is to just lock the cells that contain formulas so they can not be selected or edited by users. By default all cells in a work book are locked, so you will need to unlock them all to start with.

  • Hit CTRL + A to select all of the cells on the worksheet
  • Home Tab – Cells Group -Format – Format Cells
  • Untick Locked, to unlock all of the cells on the worksheet
  • Hit OK

Now all we need to do find all of the cells that contain formulas …

  • Hit F5 to bring up the GoTo Dialog Box
  • Select Special – Formulas – Hit OK
  • All of the cells that contain formulas will be highlighted

Then we need to lock those highlighted cells …

  • Home Tab – Cells Group -Format – Format Cells
  • Navigate to the Protection Tab
  • Check the Locked option and hit OK

This does not in itself lock your formulas, you need to then protect your worksheet to ensure these settings work.

  • Select Review Tab
  • Changes Group
  • Select Protect Sheet
  • Enter a password and confrm password when prompted
  • That's all you need to do.

3. Hide The Formula Bar With Some Simple VBA

My third method of hiding your formulas is to actually hide the formula bar on the Excel worksheet. This is easily achieved by a very small piece of VBA coding or an Excel Macro.

This macro uses the Application Object and we are looking to use the DisplayFormulaBar property of it.

To use this small piece of coding, you need to insert it into a module in your Excel workbook.

  • Open Visual Basic – by hitting F11 or Developer Tab – Visual Basic – Click Modules, and Add New Module.

Here is the VBA code if you want to copy it. Just paste it into a module you have created as per the instructions above.

Sub HideFormulaBar ()

Application.DisplayFormulaBar = False

End Sub

Just as we have hidden the formula bar we can easily write some VBA to show the formula bar again

Sub ShowFormulaBar ()

Application.DisplayFormulaBar = True

End Sub

In this instance we set the Application.DisplayFormulaBar to TRUE to display the formula bar.

I use all of these methods in my Excel spreadsheets depending on which I feel is most appropriate for that project I am working on for example it maybe not always appropriate to hide the formula bar even if some calculations are still needed to be seen, so I would just hide the sensitive formulas in that case. if it is a purely visual Dashboard solution then hiding the formula bar not only gives room on the Excel display area, but it always makes for a very neat and tidy visual for the Dashboard presentation.

Ingredients of Your Chinchilla Dust Bath

Although rain rarely visits the dry and rocky environment of the Andes Mountains in South America, wild chinchillas have adapted and managed to make the most out of their environment. For the various succulents covering the area alone, these have evolved in such a way that whenever precious water is available, either growing vast roots underground to soak every drop, growing very close to the ground for immediate access, or storing the water in their juicy flesh. For wild chinchillas, eating some succulents replaces drinking. And since water is hard to come by, grooming includes bathing in the fine sand and ash scattered about.

Since many chinchillas have been bred in captivity and domesticated, companies and pet owners have tried to mimic aspects of their natural habitat by providing them with a variety of special chinchilla dust baths available in pet stores.

Chinchilla’s fur is rich and thick, helping them insulate their bodies against extreme temperatures, protecting their sensitive skin from bacteria and parasites. Unlike other domestic animals, you cannot wash your pet chinchillas with water or shampoo. Their skin is prone to bacterial and fungal infection with moisture. This is why, even when in the wild, chinchillas roll in fine dust to clean. Chinchilla dust is formulated in such a way that it does not dry out your pet’s coat, only absorbing and stripping away excess oil, dirt, and moisture.

Most chinchilla dust baths available in the market today usually have the vague phrase “natural chinchilla dust” written under the ingredients portion of the label. In the wild, the dust they roll around in is composed of either fine volcanic ash or eroded pumice rock found in the area; or a mix of both. Some products are made of grounded pumice rock. The “Chinchilla Bath Sand” product claims that it is made entirely out of “100% Natural Volcanic Mountain Pumice found in the Andes Mountains.” The tagline also includes that such an ingredient is “dust free” lessening the trouble of dust flying around during bathing time.

For other products like “Sun Seed Sunthing Special Chinchilla Dust Bath”, the product lists ‘Fuller’s earth” as an ingredient. This is a mineral that is known to be capable of absorbing oil, moisture, and other impurities; also added in some cosmetics, powders and pharmaceuticals. Interestingly, movie sets also use the powdered mineral to simulate larger and cheaper explosions. For other uses in pet care, the ingredient is also known to be in cat litter and other pet powders.

Other possible ingredients put in the mix of chinchilla dust include either a portion of really fine sand or fragrances. Be wary of cheap knock-offs that are only made of sand as this doesn’t really do a good job in cleaning your pet chinchilla. The Kaytee and Pet Scentsations brands offer various chinchilla dust baths with scents ranging from melon, to raspberry and vanilla. Other brands state their products to be environment-friendly and all-natural. These are great considerations in choosing the perfect chinchilla dust variety for you.

Chinchilla dust is usually affordable depending on the size you require or would like to keep in stock. Prices range from approximately $4 (for about 30 ounces) to about $30 (for a big sack of over 60 pounds of dust). Many pet owners usually try a variety of products to see which best suits the chinchilla they have.

Knowing what exactly is in the chinchilla dust bath you buy helps in understanding your chinchilla and its basic needs even better. And just like any good consumer, it pays to be on the look-out for only the best products available for your pet.

Metal Wood Burning Fireplaces

A fireplace which is an additional attraction to most of the houses. An effective device which is for heating the room can also prove to be a wonderful setting for a romantic mood. Metal wood burning fireplace are designed to improve an existing fireplace with more environmental -friendly, economic burning potions.

The metal wood stove for burning logs or other types of wood fuel compounds in a combination of a rectangular metal shaped shell including opposite sides, a top, a back and a bottom that supports upon legs on a supporting surface. It is manually adjustable.

Most of the people choose to burn wood or adapt their fireplaces to gas for visual purposes. This metal wood burning fireplace is possible to boost your existing fireplace and it is a possible source of heat as well.

There are various instructions to maintain the metal wood burning fireplace; you have to clean the fireplace and chimney annually that helps to maintain the safety and efficiency of the fireplace. You should burn hardwoods instead of softer varieties. These burn more slowly and produce more heat. You should open any glass or metal doors that are part of the fireplace to allow heat to escape. The metal wood burning fireplace can be of conventional cast iron pieces or lighter sheets of metal which reflect heat back into the room. It establishes heat transmission ducts. These fans blows forcefully heated air into the room and suck the cooler air into the fireplace. The metal helps to spread out the heat into the room. These wood-burning stoves are efficient and add attractiveness to the home. It will linger warm and continue to heat the room after the fire is extinguished.

A fireplace consists of a firebox that contains fire with a chimney which releases smoke out of the houses. The fire places have other advantages like that it keeps the house heated and it is helpful in cooking also. The metal wood burning fireplace some artistic significance of the house though there has been a rapid scientific development and it is available in various electronic shops but the demand for the fireplace still exists.

The fireplace has to be cleaned by Flue brush, dust mask, newspaper, ladder, stiff nylon, drop cloth, vacuum, ash can, glass cleaner and soft cloth, rubber gloves, and trash can and bags. The initial cost can be high but when you use for few years it will show major savings in heating costs to justify the initial costs.

Pilates Can Help PMS Symptoms

If you suffer from PMS (pre-Menstrual syndrome) then please be aware that you can find relief through the regular practice of Pilates. There are also other ways that you can reduce the systems such as introducing lifestyle changes, eating a healthy diet and practicing regular exercise. In this article I'm going to share with you some of the ways that you can use Pilates to reduce symptoms.

PMS is estimated to affect between 75% and 80% of all menstruating women. Symptoms are varied but can include back pain, mood swings, headaches and breast tenderness. It is thought that fluctuating hormones cause the symptoms. Let's look at each symptom and how Pilates can help.

Back pain. Practicing some form of exercise for 30 to 40 minutes on 3 to 5 days a week can not only keep our bodies fit, but it can keep muscles stretched and strengthened. One of the benefits of Pilates is that the spinal is mobilized during the exercises and this can give relief to tight back muscles and the nerves that get affected by uterine contractions.

Discomfort in the stomach area and menstrual cramps can be eased by laying on your back with the knees lifted and bent. Breathe in and as you breath out, then lift the hips from the floor. Be sure to curl through your spell, breathe in again at the peak of the movement and then breath out as you come back down, with one vertebrae at a time.

The cat stretch is another move that will help to ease the back. Go on all fours then curl up the back into an arch, just like a cat. Inhale and exhale with each movement. Each breath will massage your internal organs and the back stretch will release tension around the spine.

End with the child pose. Sit with your hips on your heels and stretch your arms out forward as you go forward bending your back. Do this for as long as you like.

Menstrual cramps. Any exercise that works the abs can help with menstrual cramps. Exercising with deep breathing can produce endorphins that will not only help to ease the pain, but it will leave you with a sense of well-being.

The side hip extension can be of great benefit. To do this you need to lie on your right side. Put your right hand benefit your head with the weight of your head on your arm. Now position your legs straight and to the front of you at 30 degrees. Now lift your left leg, bring it forward and point your toe, then push it back for a count of two. Keep your torso and hips in the same position as you repeat this for up to ten times. Then work on the other side.

Pilates can do a lot for the PMS sufferer. Remember that keeping to a healthy diet can do a lot of good too. Avoid white flour, refined sugar and keep dairy product intake low. Fill your meals with fresh vegetables, salads and fresh fruit to keep your immune system and your hormones at their peak. Pilates is a powerful medicine and by practicing it regularly and consistently, you can alleviate some of the symptoms of PMS if not all.

Building Projects With Treated Wood

Building with treated wood and the idea that this project will last forever because of the wood you used is not necessarily true. Over the years I have seen contractors and homeowners use treated wood for projects like building decks with this idea in mind.

I just met with a homeowner that was asking me about vinyl fencing. The homeowner approached me with some facts about vinyl fencing. She started to explain to me how long a vinyl fence would last cases a wood fence. I reminded her that the vinyl posts typically slip over metal or wood building materials.

She proceeded to inform me that treated wood will last a lot longer than wood used when building a wooden fence. It took me a while to change her mind and reprogram her with a few picture this from my website. I know this is hard to imagine but wood rots and steel rust.

All you end up with is a vinyl fence that is in pretty good shape if taken care of properly laying down in your yard with broken or rusted fence posts.

Do you know that some people use treated wood for countertops and food preparation areas when building certain projects like an outdoor barbecue? Do you know people build outdoor furniture with treated wood and then sit in it with a chance of toxic chemicals entering into your body? This is where Redwood comes in as a natural building product or other nice looking woods. Redwood is classified as a softwood and if used for a countertop and a barbecue kitchen area you will have to protect it from heavy pans and people using the countertop for a cutting board.

Do not use treated wood for a projects that will be used for food preparation later.

It's a good idea to wash your hands after handling treated lumber. It's a really good idea to wash your hands after using treated lumber if you are going to eat something or make something for another person or yourself.

For all the homeowners and building contractors that use treated wood and bury it in dirt. Or build a low lying deck right above the ground I would like to share something with you. I have been repairing and replacing your work for over 30 years now. You guys keep me busy and I want to thank you for all the years you guys have been in business.

I still can not believe the amount of work I see being done using treated wood with the illusion that it will last longer than regular construction standard wood. I do not know how else to put it except to say treated wood will rot fast in the right conditions.

Treated wood does need to be protected from rain, snow, heat and other elements of the weather. It can not sit in the dirt or lay in water for long periods of time without slowly disintegrating. Oh yeah one more thing termites will eat sections of the wood that is not completely treated.

Use treated wood properly when building and inform other people about some of the stuff you learned in this article. Reread this article later and save it for the future.

Office Design – 5 Tips for a Great Reception Area

The office reception space is an often overlooked component in office design. From simply awkward to mysteriously absent, the design or presence of a reception area is regularly disregarded. To shed some light on how proper planning of this space can greatly benefit the efficiency and professional image of your business, I've put together the five most important design aspects of the office reception space and how to best use them.

1. Plan to have a reception area and a receptionist.

Not having a reception is mistake # 1. Have you ever had a meeting at an office where you've never been before and when you walked in you found yourself in the middle of all the employees with all of their work suddenly paused while they stared at you blankly. I have, and it makes a negative first impression. Plan to have a conspicuous reception area and staff it with a pleasant and informative individual who will keep your other employees from getting interrupted.

2. Where to put the reception area.

Place it at the entrance so that it's the first place a visitor will head. There's no point in having a reception area if visitors find it easier to interrupt other staff.

3. Lighting in the reception area.

Not just mistake # 3, but the most common mistake is lighting, and the most overlooked detail is lighting color. Have you ever walked into an office where the light makes everything look distasteful or sickly? Every bulb, whether fluorescent or incandescent, emits light which is measured on the Kelvin scale. Typical bulbs will be anywhere from 2500 – 7500 Kelvin, where 2500 is warm and yellow, and 7500 is cold and blue. A cold, blue light will make skin and even food look unpleasant so stick to between 3500-4500 Kelvin, which you'll find written on the bulb box.

4. Seating in the reception area.

This is very important to the office visitor, and how they perceive your business. This mistake takes two forms: 1) not having anywhere to sit, and 2) art chairs. If there is now to sit, your visitors will be left to either stand around or pace in your reception hall. Either option is uncomfortable and does not project a welcoming atmosphere. And by 'art chairs' I am referring a phenomenon most commonly seen in design offices and office designs created by those firms. Make sure your reception seating can actually be sat on and that it's comfortable and natural to sit in.

5. Open vs. closed reception desks.

If you're really worried that office visitors may attack your receptionist, then having a closed reception desk with a sliding window or slot is perfectly reasonable. Otherwise, it's mistake # 5. It tells your visitors that you assume they're undesirable, dangerous or otherwise untrustworthy. They're most commonly found in hospitals & police stations, which makes for a bad impression to your visitors.

The points above are just a framework of the most common office reception mistakes. Following these simple points will not only improve your employee's efficiency, but also the first impression visitors to your workplace form about your business. There are many other considerations that make for proper office design and the best possible way of getting a good return on your investment is to hire an experienced design professional.

Mind Hypnosis – 3 Powerful Ways To Take Control Of Someone

In the field of hypnosis, there are three ways in which you can basically take control of someone's mind and get them to do whatever you want. So here they are …

Mind Control # 1: Dual Reality

This is a technique used in magic that can also be used very well in hypnosis, especially with stage hypnosis. Basically it describes a scenario where the performer presents his material in such a way that both the subject and the audience experience different things.

For example, suppose a volunteer is invited onto the stage to help with a trick. The performer meets the volunteer at the edge of the stage and, quietly so that the audience does not hear, saying: "What's your name?" "Jim" Replays the volunteer. "Okay Jim, do not worry everything will be fine." The performer now addresses the audience: "Now ladies and Gentlemen, I have never met this person before. Is not that right …" The volunteer sentences before the performer continues … "erm … Jim, is not it? " The volunteer has to agree again.

The audience thinks that the performer has just somehow guessed the volunteers name, and the volunteer thinks that he has just forgotten forgot it before recovering.

Mind Control # 2: Invisible Compromise

This is another magic technique that can be adapted to suit pseudo hypnotic or mind control performances. This is quite similar to dual reality, except that the volunteer actually knowingly helps to perform the trick – he is not a stooge in that he is not pre coached on how to react, he is skilfully used by the magician to actively participate, controlled by clever verbal commands that mean one thing to the audience, and something completely different to the volunteer. I will not go into this in more detail here.

Mind Control # 3: Pattern Interrupts

This is a hypnotic / NLP term used to describe a way in which a person's thought processes can be momentarily interrupted during that time which can be induced into a trance very quickly.

It is a technique devised by Milton Erickson, which involves interfering the normal, expected patterns of behavior that the subject expects to experience. At this point their brain pauses briefly to try to understand the unexpected activity that the subject has just experienced and a command to "sleep" is quickly given during this pause in the brain activity.

The command slips right past the critical censor and into the subconscious where it is acted upon immediately (assuming that the technique is taken out correctly, the subject is suitably receptive, and the performer is confident enough in their abilities).

Curing Bacterial Vaginal Infection at Home With Proven Bacterial Vaginosis Treatments

Don’t get lured by the big advertisements and billboards making tall claims about curing bacterial vaginal infection with over the counter creams and lotions. If you want, you can have bacterial vaginosis treatment at home itself. Unfortunately not many women think about home remedies due to lack of information about these remedies. There are some remedies that even the doctors fear talking about because it could take away a lot of business for them.

Can you imagine that a simple saline solution can do wonders for your bacterial vaginal infection? Take a teaspoon of salt and mix it in a glass of water. Stir the salt well to get a saline solution. Use this solution to wash your vagina. If you regularly use this technique the balance between acid level and alkali level in the vagina will be restored. This will cure BV very quickly. Remember to dry your vagina properly after a wash like this.

Another simple technique that can keep bacterial vaginal infection in control is by controlling the moisture level in the vagina. Moisture helps bacteria to breed and expand rapidly. If you can keep your vagina dry by wearing cotton undergarments and cloths that are loose, this will help in proper air circulation. Air circulation will help in evaporating moisture and prevent the infection from multiplying.

Yet another bacterial vaginosis treatment that works like a charm is buttermilk. Drinking buttermilk made from pure goat milk is an excellent remedy. You can even apply buttermilk to the vagina using a tampon. Both the techniques will help in controlling the bacterial vagina infection. Make sure that buttermilk does not have preservatives and chemicals.

Scanning DVD Covers – Hints and Tips

Ever lost a DVD, had your DVD collection stolen or damaged in an unforeseen accident? Strange things happen, which is why more people are backing up their precious DVD collection, which can potentially be worth thousands of dollars. While people are creating back-ups of their movies, many forget to create back-ups of the DVD covers inside the cases. If you want your DVD collection to look brilliant on display then they must have covers. This is why it is good practice to scan your DVD covers collection, especially those rare covers that may be difficult to find on the Internet at a later stage.

Scanning a DVD cover is simple however requires that you have some basic Photoshop knowledge/ skills. We need to make some basic image edits to ensure our covers are just right if we ever need to print them to serve as replacements. Here are some tips to help you get the most from your scans.

– The first tip doesn’t require any computer. Instead I recommend that you remove your DVD cover from its case and place it under a stack of heavy books. It is recommended that you leave it there for approximately a week, however even one day makes a difference. This step helps flatten the spine of your cover and will make the editing process much easier.

– When scanning, ensure you set your dpi(dots per inch) to 600. This will give you a large image with a great amount of picture information and detail. This setting will help to better edit the cover.

– It is recommended that you switch off any filters, such as sharpness, brightness, contrast etc. You will achieve better results editing these settings once the cover is scanned in Photoshop.

– Select the de-screen option. This setting helps remove the moiré pattern(crosshatched effect) which haunts so many scanned images.

– Once the scan is complete you must immediately open the levels tool (image > adjustments > levels) to repair the DVD cover’s black, mid and white tones. For a more detailed explanation on how to use the levels tool, check the link below.

– Fix any dust or rip spots on your cover by using the clone tool. If you are working on a solid color you can use the brush tool, which can be much quicker and highly effective at times. Remember to play around with the opacity settings of these tools to ensure your repairs look authentic.

– Use the gaussian blur tool to remove the remaining effects of moiré patterns (not always necessary.

– Reduce your DVD Cover to 300 DPI prior to saving. We do not require 600 DPI for print and also saves on storage.

These are the basic steps to creating high quality back-ups. Please remember that some DVD covers may require more work than others depending on the age, quality and color of the DVD Cover.

Difference Between Hot and Cold Lamination

You can use cold or hot lamination depending on your need and your budget. In hot lamination, the item you want to laminate is subject to heat. However, if you use cold lamination the item is subjected to pressure. For both techniques, you require a film to laminate the material. The thicker the film, the firmer will be the lamination and its durability will increase.

Hot lamination

To laminate a material using hot lamination you need hot laminating film. This technique can be divided into standard and special low melt hot lamination. Standard lamination is used for everyday purposes while special low melt technique is used on items that cannot be subjected to heat. For instance, it is best that you avoid using standard hot lamination on photographs.

The film that is used in this process has two layers – the adhesive resin layer and the polyester layer. The material is placed between the layers which are then placed in the machine that melts adhesive in the sheet. The machine also spreads the adhesive evenly over the item. Since the machine can generate a temperature of up to 300 degree Celsius, it is important that trained personal handle the machine. The process is complete when the aggressive dries up and becomes cold.

This technique is usually cheaper than cold lamination and the items laminated using this technique is more durable. The biggest disadvantage of using this technique is that it cannot be used for material that is sensitive to heat or have inkjet ink. If you use this technique on inkjet ink paper, the ink in the paper may melt. This technique is more time-consuming than cold lamination because you must heat the machine before you start the process.

Cold Lamination

Cold lamination is a simple procedure that helps you get laminated documents in a few minutes. To laminate a document using this technique, you must place the document in the cold lamination machine. After the document is placed in the machine, you have to set the attributes depending upon the shape and the size of the document. If you have a limited budget, you can also use cold roll laminator to laminate the document.

The best part about using this technique is that it can be used for all documents. Paper that have inkjet ink and heat sensitive material can be easily laminated using this technique. It is a simple procedure and can be easily performed by people who have no formal training. Other advantages of using cold lamination machine are that they require little maintenance and are safe. The biggest disadvantage of using this technique is that it is expensive when compared to hot lamination. Also, the chances of bubble formation are high during this technique.

The hot and cold lamination machines have their own advantages and disadvantages. Your choice of machine will depend on your budget and your requirements.

Using Landscaping Timber to Create Flowerbeds

You can create terraced flowerbeds simply by using landscaping timber. Terraces are great because if you raise a flowerbed the soil will be able to grow plants sooner and they will not need as much water. What is more, raised flowerbeds make it easier to maintain and care for, while they will also save space if you have a small yard.

There are several uses for raised flowerbeds made out of timber. You can use them to give your landscaping design a warm look. You can also use them to make a ready made garden. Use some compost and topsoil, plant some carrots, taproot, radishes, parsnips and anything you can think of. In fact, you can even create a wheelchair friendly garden if you put the beds high enough.

Plan your design

You can use landscaping timbers in every way you can imagine. There's a large variety of timbers nowdays, and you can even buy some pieces in the shape of small logs but with a flat bottom, making it easier to place it. Although they look very natural, in fact, they are made of plywood, so they are a recycled product. However, there are people who prefer to cut the timber themselves, or to buy real landscaping timbers.

Real wood landscaping timber is not chemically treated, while plywood is. Therefore, real wood timber can last just for seven or eight years but they are safer and healthier, especially if there are children at home. Plywood logs are treated with more chemicals to last longer.

Planning is essential for creating raised flowerbeds with landscaping timber. First, see how high you want it, and then calculate how much timber you'll need. Remember you'll need four timbers per level, two long and two short, to make a frame. You will need another layer of timber to sink into the ground, especially if it's too high. After you have planned and sketched your timber flowerbed, calculate if the timbers at your store are the size you need or if you'll need to cut them to the size you have calculated.

Building your timber flowerbed

After you buy the landscaping timbers, remove the grass and level the ground. A good idea is to dig a surrounding trench, so it's easier for you to install the first layer of wood. You'll need landscaping nails to fix the timber so it will not move. As you go up, do not forget to put more nails every two or three layers. If you plan to build more than one you can do it in just one day.

How to Replace Suzuki King Quad Axles

ATV’s are designed for long term vigorous use. It is not uncommon for them to get muddy and dirty as they are also used to rough terrains and even rougher drivers. However, this makes them vulnerable to some damage and therefore it is not uncommon for the axle to give out over time.

A Thing or Two about Replacing Quad Axles

Replacing a Suzuki King Quad Axle can be a costly venture. Therefore it is important to keep your ATV in good working condition. Always inspect the ATV parts at least once a month and thoroughly clean them. Furthermore, depending on the make and model of your ATV, some axles may be a bit difficult to find or may require special ordering from a different state. Therefore it is always best to have a spare Suzuki king quad axle on hand. Should the current axle get damaged, the replacement will come in handy and the ATV will be up and running with little downtime.

Suzuki ATV and Quad Axles

Suzuki ATVs are known for their popularity and just like any other ATV they can also encounter broken axles. This article will focus on replacing Suzuki King Quad axles in order to better equip readers with the knowledge and procedures involved in successful removal and replacement.

Suzuki King Quad Axle Removal Procedure:

The entire process consists of two parts. The first part entails removing the defective Suzuki axle. The second part is about installing the new one.

Tire Removal – The very first step is to remove the tires in order to get to the quad axle. To do that, the ATV must be put on a stand or a jack.

Caliper Removal – Removing the tires will expose the break caliper. It must be removed in order to get to the axle. Remove it using the appropriate tools.

Hub Nut Removal – Getting to the Suzuki quad axle requires the removal of quite a lot of pieces. Next in line for removal is the hub nut. This is the most difficult part of the entire procedure as it requires a lot of force to loosen up the large hub nut. Once removed, the broken axle can easily be retrieved.

Suzuki King Quad Axel Installation:

The installation follows the exact same procedure mentioned above in reverse.

• Once the faulty Suzuki king quad axle is removed, simply slide the new axle in.

• Install the hub nut back in place and tighten it as hard as possible.

• Install the brake calipers.

• Put the tires back on the ATV

• Drop the ATV off the stand or jack.

The process itself doesn’t look much difficult on paper however in actuality it does require a certain degree of patience and skill. Nevertheless its not something one must go to an ATV mechanic to get fixed. ATV’s are similar to automobiles in many ways because the underlying mechanics of both types of machinery are the same. Suzuki king quad axles are sturdy pieces of equipment but even they can get damaged over the course of time. So push your ATV to the limits if you must, but do not overdo it.

Magic Tricks Revealed – How to Design Your Own Magic Tricks

You know what separates a great magician like Chris Angel or David Blaine from an ordinary one? They take a basic magic effect and design it into a master illusion. Now you can be the next Chris Angel. All you need to understand is basic magic design.

Most people think that there are thousands of magic tricks out there. In reality there really are not that many. According to Dariel Fitzkee, author of The Trick Brain, there are only 19 basic effects which govern all magic tricks and illusions.

All nineteen of those basic effects rely on some form of magical apparatus. Sometimes the items are real but the majority of the time the items are tricked or faked to accomplish some magical effect.

It has been my experience that there are only three basics that govern how all 19 magical effects work. All magic tricks are made up of one or more of the following:

1. Camouflage
Every magic apparatus from the smallest to the largest illusion makes use of camouflage. This is the most important fundamental in magic. Perhaps you want to produce a big item from a box. You can use camouflage to make the box look smaller so as to suggest the big item does not fit. Maybe a piece of apparatus has a secret pocket to make things appear and disappear, camouflage can hide the secret pocket.

2) Secret Movement
You can also make things disappear or appear or even seem to come alive with a secret movement. You see an empty box, as the magician closes the door a screen on the inside drops and when the magician opens the door again, it appears a horse, bicycle, or even an elephant has appeared. Perhaps you've also seen the recently popular trick, The Floating Card. The magician spins a playing card around his body, or perhaps he floats it between his hands. The power for this comes from a small and practically invisible thread and the movement of the performers body. The whole feat loses its mystery if the audience were to suspect the actual means by which the effect is produced.

3) Mechanical Transformation
The final of the three is the mechanical design to produce a visible transformation. Perhaps you've seen a magician take a red scarf and pass it through something and it comes out blue. Sometimes a silk that changes into a cane. Torn and Restored effects also fall into this category. Perhaps you have even seen in a comedy show a clown or other performer pull out a gun and when fired a sign comes out the end that says "BANG". Tricks like Metamorphosis that are done under cover are usually governed by some sort of secret movement and are not transformations in the true sense.

By learning the three basic concepts of design, you'll be able to create and make a magical apparatus that is unique to your magic act.

The Top 3 Tricks Horse Owners Can Use To Unspoil A Barn Spoiled Horse

It's been weeks since you walked riding. Now you have time to ride this afternoon and there is not one one gonna stop you. Excited, you saddle up your horse and get on him. You get about 50 feet from the barn and your horse turns around and goes back – and you can not stop him. Why? You have a barn spoiled horse. This is a common scenario for novice horse owners.

Here are the top three tricks to solve the barn sour problem.

Teach your horse that you have control over him. Once your horse gets it in his mind that you can make him do what you want him to do, you have control over him and can so make him leave the barn. One way to get control over him is to use a training technique called doubling. When you double your horse you teach him you can control him.

It does not take long before your horse will know you can control him. Be careful when doubling though. If you do it too much at a time you can over do it. Your horse could get so sensitive to you doing it that he may try to anticipate it. If he sees your hands making the slightest movement that looks like you're about to double him, he may double himself. Thus, just double him four to six times a day on both sides. He'll quickly learn you have control.

The next thing you can try is this: Make it dang hard to do the wrong thing – and make it real easy to do the right thing. Here's what I mean. A while back my horse did not want to leave her buddies or the barn. We'd get about 100 feet away and she'd turn around and bolt back. She'd stop in front of the barn expecting me to get off, remove the saddle and tack, and put her back into the corrals.

By my barn is two hay stacks. There is a space between them big enough to go through and do figure eights around the hay stacks. So every time she'd go back I would make her work, and work, and work at running figure eights around those hay stacks. Then I would test her to see if she had enough and would leave the area.

The first seven times she ran back. Each time we came back to the barn we'd run more laps around the hay stacks. I could tell she was getting tired. But the eighth time I walked her away from the hay stacks I noticed she went quite a ways before turning to go back.

When we went back again we ran more figure eights. Only this time I could tell we did not have to do too many. I walked her out and away from doing the figureights and I suddenly had a horse who decided that it was sooo much nicer going for a walk away from the barn rather than doing a bunch of crummy ol 'figure eights. We had a nice ride that day and she was in no hurry to get home.

The last thing to do is this: Ride. Ride a lot. Do not wait for weeks or months in between riding. Try to ride at least once per week for three or four hours. Preferably, try to ride at least twice a week for a few hours at a time. (Ideally, you should ride everyday. But that's hard to do with today's time constraints) Doing that your horse will get in his brain that you're going to ride and he's going to leave the barn and there will be no argument. In fact, if you want to have a great horse the biggest secret is this: Ride the heck out him!

So if your horse is barn spoiled you can try doubling it to show you are in control. The next thing you can try is making the wrong thing difficult and the right thing easy. Make it dang hard for him to go the wrong thing and very pleasant to do the right thing. And lastly, ride your horse often. Two to three times a week if possible.
