The Hidden Agenda and a Plank of Wood

My daughter arrived from England yesterday, as she put it “to rescue me”, If you have been following my articles, you will know I fractured my leg, tripping whilst walking. I think also 20 degrees sunshine were calling her from the depths of an English winter. We had a good morning catching up with news but she was determined to get me out of the house and push me around in a wheelchair.

I couldn’t see this working at all; so after lunch I was bundled in the car, where I intended to stay whilst my partner showed her the delights of our favourite beach. It was decided I would be pushed along the walkway to a café, when Charlie, my daughter disappeared onto the beach, returning triumphantly with a battered plank washed in by the tide. This was inserted under my leg, splinters included and we went on our way to the café with my leg protruding in front of me supported in a fashion, on this battered plank. Not a pretty sight!

Despite the wobbly journey we thankfully made it and spent a while sipping drinks and eating olives and admiring a magnificent sea view. The plank was carefully stowed in the car and now has to be covered with a blanket to make it more suitable for future trips. My daughter has been determined to find a leg support from the moment she arrived.

Are you that determined to follow through your plans? I think it might me a bit of a family trait, as I too achieve what I set out to do. A few years ago I decided to set up an online business, and winter in the sun. I am now doing both.

If working online, and working at home wherever that may be, is a long-held dream, you can do it.
