The films listed in this article are in my opinion, the top ten most violent movies ever made. WARNING: The descriptions of these movies are very disturbing, please do not read this if you are easily upset! This guide can either serve as a sort-of parental advisory warning to sensitive viewers of the films to avoid at all costs, or it can provide gorehounds with the titles they need to take their extreme viewing to the next level beyond the typical Hostel and Saw movies. These films are very gruesome, please read at your own risk! You have been warned!
10. Faces of Death (1978)
A gory, mock shockumentary that inappropriately mixes scenes of fake suicides, accidents, animal attacks and bloody murders with real footage of gruesome autopsies and the aftermath of traffic accidents mixed with footage of actual animal cruelty including scenes from inside a slaughter house, chicken decapitation and the clubbing of baby seals, all set to cheesy music.
9. Laboratory of the Devil (1992)
Laboratory of the Devil ups the body count where Men Behind the Sun left off as Unit 731 continues conducting gruesome experiments on Chinese captives. A woman’s skin is peeled from her hands and a gruesome autopsy is conducted on a live human. Other victims are killed by poisoning, lethal injection, frozen limb smashing, amputation, shootings and body burning.
8. Shogun’s Sadism (1976)
In the tradition of the Tokugawawo series, Shogun’s Sadism consists of two short stories of love taking place in the Shogun era amidst cruelty, persecution and religious wars. Featuring rape, boiling water torture, decapitation, evisceration, a foot smashed with a sledge hammer, eyeball branding, a fetus ripped out of a pregnant woman and a girl being drawn and quartered.
7. Flowers of Flesh of Blood (1985)
A serial killer kidnaps a woman and performs an ancient samurai ritual for his camera, turning her into a flower of flesh and blood. He cuts off her hand, then cuts off her arm, he saws off her leg, he slices her stomach open and pulls out her intestines, he cuts off her head, then scoops out her eyeball with a spoon. After that he shows us his collection of body parts from other victims.
6. Salo (1975)
In Italy during World War 2 a group of Fascists torture and humiliate 16 teenagers for 120 days. They strip the kids naked, they put them on leashes and force them to be servants, beating them and making them eat excrement. Then they take the children outside and mutilate them to death, they burn their genitals, cut out their tongues, remove their eyeballs, stab them and shoot them in the heads.
5. Tumbling Doll Of Flesh (1988)
The filming of a porno becomes a sadistic snuff film when the two actors involved begin torturing their actress. They saw off her leg and her arm. They pet her face with the severed arm. They snip her tongue apart with scissors. They disembowel her and have sex with her intestines. They then finish her off with a meat cleaver to the face.
4. Men Behind The Sun (1988)
After World War 2 Chinese victims are experimented on in a Unit 731 camp where a woman’s hands are frozen and peeled to the bone, an actual kitten is fed to rats, a child is dissected alive and a pressurized tank forces intestines to explode out of a man’s rectum.
3. Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
An investigation of a documentary crew massacred by Cannibals in South America leads to the discovery of lost film footage of rape, castration, disembowelment, forced abortion, anal impalement, rape with a rock, bodily mutilation and the infamous gruesome acts of actual animal cruelty.
2. August Underground’s Mordum (2003)
The most gruesome movie ever made in my opinion! Disguised as actual snuff footage with realistic depictions of throat slittings, forced self-castration, rape, cannibalism, disembowelment, intestine rape, vomit torture, child necrophilia and maggots being eaten from the corpse of a dead infant.
1. Philosophy of a Knife (2008)
A 4 hour reenactment of the torturous experiments conducted by unit 731 including decapitation, dismemberment, disembowelment, fetus removal, teeth pulling, genital freezing, radiation exposure, electrocution, skin slicing, tongue snipping, pressure chamber deaths, suicide and a cockroach being forced inside a woman’s vagina as her face is removed.
