When Is a Brick Wall Not a Brick Wall?

Answer: when it's a veneer brick wall.

So what does a veneer brick wall mean?

That is an easy one to answer. Veneer is a terminology used to describe a layer of material that does not go the full depth of a product. It explains the surface cover which is placed on top of another material. And so with a brick veneer wall you get the benefit of a veneer that looks like a brick wall without the high material or installation costs that comes with a brick wall.

Sounds great right? And it is.

This means that if you have existing plasterboard walls or most interior wall types you can easily turn these walls into "solid looking" brick walls with the use of brick wall cladding.

In most cases the walls our custom made brick veneer product is used for is turning interior walls into brick look-a-like walls.

The benefit of applying brick cladding wall sheets into your home can be any one of the following.

Your choice for changing the wall cladding to some or all of your walls is to modernize and update the interior design of your home. Are your walls old and tired and do they show signs of wear and tear from daily knocks and abuse? Then covering them with brick veneer might be the easy and effective way to overcome this.

Brick veneer wall cladding can also bring a traditional homely feel into your house. The wall cladding you select can be custom colour made to suit your taste. Think of a brick colour you would be happy to install and this can be made for you. Thus achieving that traditional brick masonry look in your home.

If your taste is more for the rustic brick appearance and colour we can custom make a veneer that has the shape and texture of an older brick with a rustic colour to match. This would be the perfect accompaniment to a home suited to this grand old look.

Even modern apartments are moving towards brick cladding for the finish to some internal walls. The "old refurbished apartment" look can be achieved with a specific designed brick wall cladding material.

This is an effective way of blending a retro interior design element into a modern living space … without having to source all bricks from a demolition yard. You do not want to be carting old bricks (which as we know have no quality control or guarantee to be fit for purpose) onto your project and install them.

Brick work is a messy trade at the best of times when you have to mix sand, cement and lime in large wet quantities to make mortar before you even start to build walls. No thanks.

Choose custom made brick tiles and finish the project in half the time of traditional brick work.

Brick tiles can be installed just like ceramic tiles. If you have seen ceramic tiles being installed to a wall – then you already know how brick sheets can be installed.

If you can apply tile adhesive glue to a wall then you are well on your way to installing brick wall cladding. The brick veneer is stuck to the wall with adhesive, spaced with traditional plastic tile spacers, then grouted in the joins after the glue has dried. Simple as that. Therefore if you choose to install yourself you can save serious money on installation.
